The model will not surprise the inveterate gadget lover with its characteristics. It is made on the same platform as the smartphone, the company's flagship last year, but with some modifications. Appearance

Recently we had information in the news that HTC may soon stop using metal in the casings of its phones. It’s difficult to say how true this information is, but HTC Mozart can easily be classified as an “old-school” device. There is an almost completely monolithic shell, only at the bottom there is a small removable part.

The device itself is nice, looks like and. From the first it inherited general features and moderate dimensions, and with the second it is united by the idea of multi-colored inserts on the back.

Most of the model is made of aluminum. This durable frame is complemented by a pair of black soft-touch plastic inserts at the top and bottom of the back surface. Thanks to its moderate size, the device will be convenient for almost everyone; HTC Mozart fits perfectly in the hand. The dimensions of the device are: 119x60.2x11.9 mm, weight 130 g.

There are complaints about the assembly, that the inserts creak at the top and bottom, but out of the five samples tested, none of the models had such problems. There were both new devices and those that had been used for several months. The test model did not have any assembly defects.

The case is a little cool, it feels nice in your hand, all the emotions are the most positive. For the money, few devices can offer a similar tactile experience. This should be considered a clear plus for the device. The downside was that the phone got quite warm during operation.

At the top there is a large cutout for the earpiece, covered with a fine mesh. It contains an LED that reports missed calls, lights up red when the battery is almost empty, the same during charging, and green when the battery is full. Report other events, e.g. e-mail or SMS, he doesn’t know how.

Below the screen there are three controls touch buttons. The arrow takes you back one step, and holding this key opens the menu of running tasks. The central one brings you to the home screen from any application. The last button brings up the search menu.

At the top end there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the same side there is a screen lock button.

The microphone hole is visible at the bottom.

On the left is a long, thin volume key. A little lower there is a universal microUSB port. Connects to it Charger or cable.

On the right side there is a dedicated two-position key for taking photographs.

The back surface has an unusual relief shape, which is formed using a small depression. A pair of black inserts goes well with the gray color of the body; this set of shades looks nice.

In the upper left corner there is an 8-megapixel camera lens on a small podium. Next to him is a xenon flash. To the right is the speaker hole.

The lower part is removable. If you pull it towards you, the mount holding the battery opens. By opening the latch, you can remove the battery and insert the SIM card.

Screen

HTC Mozart is equipped with a 3.7-inch S-LCD display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, 16 million colors are displayed here. Capacitive screen Supports up to four simultaneous touches. The smartphone is equipped with an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and a brightness sensor. The screen is bright and performs well under the sun.

The Gorilla Glass coating protects the display, but scratches are possible. The screen behaves normally in the sun; the picture fades but remains readable.

As for the color rendition itself, the impressions here are very positive. The shades are close to natural and natural. For comparison, I’ll show the HTC Mozart screen (above) next to the SuperAMOLED (below).

Platform

HTC Mozart received a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor with a frequency of 1 GHz. The smartphone has 576 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. Of this, a little more than 6 GB is available for storing user data. If you wish, you can independently replace the microSD card installed in your phone with a more capacious one. Yes, here is a regular class 4 flash drive, only hidden inside the case. Of course, such tuning will void the factory warranty.

Interface

The lock screen can be called the most striking element of the phone shell. Assigned here background image from the device’s memory, it can be not only an image offered by the manufacturer, but also any other one uploaded to the device by the user or taken using the camera. In order to activate the screen, you need to press the lock key. After touching, the display will light up for a short period of time. You can see time and date information on the screen. At the bottom of the event line, icons of new messages or calls will be displayed if they were left unattended by the user. This also includes data about future events recorded in the calendar. The number of events of each type will be indicated.

Information about network connections. If the player is working, then from here you can control the widget’s operation. Responsible for the process of playing music. This element will also help you change the sound profile mode. To get to the phone menu, you need to swipe up from the bottom of the lock picture. For those who want to protect the contents of their smartphone from prying eyes, a password request function is provided.

The decoration of the main screen is simple and even ascetic. Nowadays, the majority of smartphones offer a variety of widgets and all sorts of functions in order to make the most of your desktop space. The WP7 developers abandoned this idea. Instead, a new one is offered unusual way menu organization. The status line at the top contains information about wireless connections and time. Data about new events does not appear here. In this case, most often this period disappears, the battery charge level is not visible. You need to touch the top of the screen to bring up this menu.

Most of the space is occupied by large squares, which are responsible for access to certain sections. These are application shortcuts, the menu itself is located on the next tab. Getting into it is simple, just follow the directions of a single arrow, under which a gaping black hole opens. By swiping your finger from right to left, you can get to the main menu. Here, in alphabetical order All programs that are installed on the phone are listed. They get here like standard applications, and subsequently added by the owner of the device.

From here, any icon can be sent to the desktop. There they change places and are placed in the right order. You may notice that some elements occupy not one area, but two. These are large shortcuts that add some variety. Moreover, some of them are equipped with animation. For example, the gallery icon will show something like a slide presentation. Real-time weather indication is displayed. As information about new events becomes available, corresponding icons appear on the icons. This is the number of new SMS, emails or missed calls. The list of shortcuts scrolls up and down; it doesn’t move any other way. The same principle applies to the main menu. To make it easier to manage a large number of programs in the future, there is a search function that will save you from tedious scrolling through a long string of icons.

If you want to change the design, you can choose from a black or white background, as well as eleven design themes. “Theme” is a strong word, they do not transform the interface, they only change the color of the icons and some of the menu items.

The platform offers multitasking. You need to hold the return button, after which a menu of windows will open, among which running applications will be displayed. There you can switch between them. However, this only applies to built-in applications. Programs from third-party developers do not work so smoothly; the user is faced with a lack of real multitasking. Today this is one of the main problems of the new platform.

Contacts

The list of names is organized according to the following principle. The phone book is divided into three sections. The first one shows all the names that are in the device's memory. The second one displays those that were used most often, these are the most popular contacts. The last column will connect together news from social networks. For example, Twitter or Facebook.

Contacts are displayed in a list that allows you to see the image assigned to the subscriber. The full first and last name cannot fit on one line. Personally, I don't like this option. Taking into account the fact that there is a bunch of free space, such an implementation of a functional element looks controversial. Above the list of names, about a quarter of the screen is taken up by a large section header. A small area on the side is occupied by the adjacent column. The phone book is divided into small groups, with a letter highlighted in bright color above each of them.

In the settings, you select the type of sorting of names and the option for displaying them. There are book filter settings. From here you can remove data from social networks if they interfere. By holding your finger on the line with the subscriber's name, this contact can be moved to the desktop, deleted or edited. When a new user is created, various data are assigned to him. Before this, you need to choose where the information will be saved: to your account Windows Live or another profile.

The new user receives a first name, last name, patronymic, place of work, nickname, title, picture. He is assigned several telephone numbers of different types: mobile, home, work, organization, pager, fax. At the same time, according to the creators of the platform, a person can only have one mobile phone. The issue is resolved by creating several contacts and merging them into one. But two home or work numbers. Three types of email are specified. Contact - additional fields. This is an address, website, birthday, note, anniversary, loved one, children, office location, position. You can set not only one of the files in the phone’s memory as a ringtone, but also any other one.

The search menu will help you find the right person. The phone allows you to create user groups. They will be highlighted separately in front of the general list of names. By adding users to each group, you can follow the lives of your friends, see their messages and pictures. Of course, you can write an email, SMS or call them from here.

Calls

To go to the dialing menu, you need to click on the icon. After this, a list of numbers opens. The telephone part is divided into four groups. This is the call log itself, dialing, phone book and search. The device cannot remember the partition that was last used. Thus, to dial a number, you will always need to perform an extra action related to moving from the call list to virtual keyboard.

During the dialogue, information about the duration of the conversation is displayed on the screen, and before that a picture will be displayed if it has been assigned to the contact.

The virtual keyboard displays Latin characters, but they will not help when dialing a number. There is no function for automatically selecting suitable numbers. The only assistant in this matter is the search option. Alternatively, you can later install a more functional application in order to expand the functionality of this important component.

The call list is organized very simply. Here, in a long string of numbers, is the entire call history. It doesn't matter whether the numbers were the same or not. The phone cannot combine calls of the same type. The caller's name or number will be displayed if the data has not been saved in the phone memory. In order to highlight the type of call (incoming or outgoing), multi-colored backlighting is used, which highlights the information under the number. By selecting a number from the list, you can see the call history. The number is saved from the log to the phone book either for an existing user, or a new one is created.

Messages

Correspondence is formed in two sections. The first consists of correspondence in the form of SMS and MMS. The other is from Facebook contacts. Thus, you can correspond from here with users of the virtual community. Messages are displayed in a column. The sender's name or number is indicated here in large font. The text of the latest message is displayed in small letters at the bottom. The day on which the message was received is indicated on the right. If you hold your finger on a line, a menu will open, which will delete the entire dialogue. If desired, single SMS messages are deleted in the correspondence between users. Any message from the dialogue can be forwarded. For clarity, the text of unread messages is highlighted in bright color, based on the design theme.

If you open the correspondence window, messages appear that are divided into blocks. At the same time, incoming and sent SMS differ from each other in shades, which makes it easier to read. In addition, the date and time the message was received is noted here. The number or name of the person with whom you are communicating is displayed above the message. Clicking on this line opens a menu that allows you to make a call or see more detailed information about the subscriber.

When typing a message, you need to select the sender. You can simply type the numbers on the line at the top of the screen or select an existing contact. Previously used numbers cannot be used. The text entry field itself is located below; as new words are added, this space expands. When the number of characters exceeds sixty, the number of characters will be displayed below. This will help take into account the volume of a new SMS; sending combined, large messages is supported. Text message automatically turns into multimedia if you add a picture to it. In this case, only a snapshot from the camera or an image from the gallery is inserted. It will not be possible to convey any other information.

The settings in this section allow you to disable Facebook chat and activate a delivery report, which will be sent as a separate message. It’s inconvenient that the phone can’t save drafts in memory. The lack of templates is less critical, but this fact is worth mentioning.

Email

The device offers a mailbox setup wizard. In this case it will be postal Windows service Live, Outlook, Yahoo Mail or Google. You will have to configure other services manually; Yandex or Mail.ru are not provided for automatic settings here.

Each account is assigned a name, and the mailbox check interval is configured: push mode, every 15, 30 or 60 minutes. You can also check your email manually. The time period for loading correspondence is set: 3, 7, 14 or 30 days or all the time. However, you cannot set a limit on downloading emails. The signature text that will be displayed on the sent letter is included. Mailbox offers several category headings: all, unread, due, important. The interface resembles a message menu. Large print The sender's name is highlighted, and the contents of the letter appear below in neat text. To the right is the time or date of receipt. New letters are highlighted in bright colors.

By holding your finger on a line with a message, you can delete it, mark it as read, move it to another folder, or assign a mark. Incoming emails with attachments will display a paperclip icon to help you understand that something has been added to the message. There is enough space on the screen for information about five letters. Below you can see four icons. The first allows you to create a new letter, the second is responsible for selecting several objects, the other allows you to check your mail. The latter opens a search menu within the correspondence archive.

When you open a received letter, you can see information about the sender, time and date of receipt, as well as content. Using multi-touch, you can easily scale text to a convenient size. However, text cannot adapt to the boundaries of the screen. The type of attachments is shown, the device allows you to download and view “office” type files, but you cannot see where the document was downloaded. For clarity, undownloaded attachments are displayed as a paperclip icon. Those that have already downloaded receive a different icon, corresponding to their usual symbol on the computer - icon Word file known to any user.

Entering text

You can choose from portrait or landscape mode. In both cases, about half of the screen is allocated for the keyboard. A separate key is available to change the input language. Another special button stores a variety of emoticons in memory. They are in the form of symbols, and not the usual emoticons, which will require some knowledge in order to choose when sending desired type. Added sound when typing; it can be turned off. Select the desired language layouts from the menu. By holding your finger on a letter key, you can see a menu with additional symbols. For example, in the Russian keyboard, Ъ is called through ь, and Ъ through E.

Implemented copying and pasting text. A cursor works on a similar principle, helping to correct typos. The built-in auto-word substitution works very well, it has a wide vocabulary, I liked it. So far, Swype is not available for WP7, so you have to be content with this option. You can add new words to your vocabulary, increasing your phone's memory.

In terms of ease of input and speed of typing, there are no complaints about the device. It’s easy to get used to, although there have been some typos.

Calendar

The device offers a choice of several ways to display information. This is a day scheduled by the hour, a list of planned events, or tasks displayed in a separate column. In addition, all data can be displayed in the form of a regular monthly plan. In this case, you will notice that in some squares something will be written. However, you can only see scheduled events if you go to the section with this data, click on the date and open a new menu. And this despite the fact that there is a lot of free space “walking” below, it could be used more wisely. The device allows you to simultaneously use several calendars, each of them is highlighted in a different color. In the settings you can change it by selecting one of the possible options.

When creating a new event, several fields are filled in. They can be: topic, place, selected calendar, time, duration. Additionally, a reminder is set that is triggered at the start of the event, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 minutes, 18 hours, one day, one week in advance. A daily repeat is turned on, on every weekday, on every day of the week that coincides with the day the event was created, on every date that coincides with the date the event was created. Participants of the event are added and will receive notifications about it by email. Also to new entry notes are created.

Browser

HTML5 support borders on non-existent Adobe Flash, the phone can’t show streaming video on websites, you can’t watch YouTube videos through it. However, you can see animated advertisements on various resources. The browser allows you to keep up to six windows open at the same time. The loading speed of resources is high, and the operation of the application itself is also pleasing. It is fast, scrolling through even large sites occurs without delay. Unfortunately, the browser does not know how to adapt a scaled font to the screen borders. You have to move around the page to see the hidden text.

The address bar is located at the bottom, right under your fingers, which is very convenient. There is an icon for reloading pages on the left, and an additional menu opens on the right. This includes your browsing history and bookmarks. The necessary resources can be added directly to the desktop. In the application settings, saving cookies is disabled and the viewing mode is selected. This item allows you to activate the mobile or full version. The application works in landscape or portrait mode, the set of capabilities is the same. The search for the required words on the page works.

Separately, I would like to highlight the operation of the device with a computer. Microsoft suggests installing special application, which will combine a music and video player, as well as storage of photos and pictures. I will not describe the installation process. Let me just say that the program works very quickly. Of course, many will be disappointed by the need to transfer data exclusively through this application. Associations immediately emerge with Apple iTunes. However, there are a number of serious differences. Firstly, the Zune is not so demanding on system resources. Only a high-speed SSD drive could make iTunes work quickly under Windows 7. Of course, the Zune installed on it has excellent speed. But even installation on an ordinary HDD does not subsequently cause irritation when using the program, it does not slow down, it works quickly and is complemented beautiful effects. It is possible to transfer data via Wi-Fi, but simply copying a 2-hour movie takes 3-4 hours, which is a very long time. For example, copying it using a USB cable takes about 5 minutes. The phone has inexpensive class 4 memory.

By default, the phone cannot act as a removable storage device, but there is already an application that will give the device such a function when connected to a computer.

Music

The phone supports .m4a, m4b, .mp3, .wma formats. The section with music and video is combined into a common group. This also includes podcasts and radio. Another tab shows history. Here you can look at songs that you have listened to before or at films. The last list will show the new data that has been added to the phone. In each of the categories, except the first, file covers are shown, it all looks very nice.

The Music section will offer a list of files, which are ordered by name depending on the selected criterion. The following options are offered: artists, albums, compositions, playlists, genres. If you click on one of the letters, you can use the function quick search among the data.

When a song is played, the file's cover art appears on the screen. At the top there are three standard player control keys. Below is information about the artist, album and track title. Under the song name, the names of the next two songs are indicated in small print. It also provides information about the playing time and total duration of the song. However, there is no rewind function using the scroll bar, it does not work. To do this, you will need to hold down the Forward or Backward key to move to the desired area.

The repeat mode is turned on for all songs or just one. There is a mixed playback mode. You can also mark your favorite composition separately. If you click on the volume control button, a small menu will open, which will display information about the track and buttons for moving between songs. It is also available when the screen is locked, which is convenient. In the menu you can see a separate application that offers to improve the sound. There is a Dolby Mobile effect, SRS enhancement and equalizer settings. Among the dozen parameters offered, there are no manual settings.

In terms of sound, the phone turned out to be very pleasant. I can't tell what he's playing better devices on Symbian^3 like or , not to mention Apple iPhone. However, the smartphone will please you with a well-detailed mid-frequency range; there are good low frequencies, but a boost in bass would not hurt. However, this may also depend on the headphones used. In general, the device can be noticed by a separate player, if you are not particularly picky.

Radio

The receiver is ascetic; only a line is displayed here where a scale with numbers is displayed. Not only manual search works, but also automatic search. The desired stations are stored in the device memory. Some data is missing here, for example, RDS information is not displayed. The design is very simple: white numbers on a black background and nothing else.

Video

The player is extremely simple and ascetic. A list of files in the phone's memory is displayed here; by selecting the one you need, it will open in full screen, although black bars at the top and bottom are possible. The screen displays the duration of the video and the time since the start of its playback. There are three player control keys, as well as a scroll bar that helps you quickly move through the movie. Declared formats: 3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .m4v, .mbr, .wmv. There is no DivX or XviD support here. However, when you copy a movie to your device via Zune, the app will automatically convert the file to required format. Of course it will take time.

Camera

The smartphone offers an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and xenon flash. Shooting is launched not only from the menu, but also using a dedicated button on the side. You need to press it and hold your finger for five seconds, after which you can take a photo. The button is two-position, comfortable. It is impossible to shoot by touching the display with your finger; in this way you can only set a point for focusing. It will not be possible to select an area so that the phone focuses on it and not on the central zone. An excellent opportunity is to start shooting in locked mode, this allows you not to waste extra time, but to immediately start taking photographs.

The screen acts as a viewfinder. On the right is a button for switching between photo and video shooting modes. Below is the digital zoom key. The last button is responsible for the settings menu. On the left you can see a small part of the previously taken frame. From here you can go directly to the gallery if you click on this picture.

Camera settings:

Reset settings.

Flash: on, auto, on.

Scenes: auto, portrait, landscape, sports, beach, backlight, candle light, macro.

Effect: shades of gray, negative, sepia, solarium.

Resolution: 8M (3264x2448), 5M (2592x1944), 3M (2048x1536), 2M (1600x1200), 1M (1280x960), 0.3M (640x480 pixels).

Metering: spot, integral, central.

Flicker control: auto, 50 Hz, 60 Hz.

The phone manages to take fairly good macro photos and performs well in low-light conditions. However, outdoors, in normal lighting, the pictures are of poor quality. More precisely, this is a normal level for HTC products; there are no significant differences from other company smartphones.

Gallery

Camera shots and other images are included in the general section. It's called Photos and consists of several categories: favorites, new, programs. Pictures are sorted by albums, dates and people. Photos from Facebook appear here if you add your account to your smartphone.

Viewing data is simple and convenient. The screen displays a 2x3 or 4x5 matrix of folders or the icons they contain, respectively. You can change the image scale with a multi-touch or double click. Any image can be set as lock screen wallpaper, sent via MMS, email, posted to Facebook or Twitter, or uploaded to SkyDrive. The image is also added to the favorites list and opened using an editing program.

The unnecessary file is deleted from here, while batch selection of several objects is impossible; each of them will have to be erased in turn. The facial recognition feature allows you to tag people in your photos. After this, the photos can be uploaded to Facebook.

Watch

Several alarms are stored in memory. Each of them is given a signal time and a repeat mode by day of the week. You can choose from melodies from the device's memory. In addition, you can assign a name to the alarm clock.

The calculator offers everything necessary functions to carry out calculations. If you turn the device on its side, an additional settings menu will open.

There is a converter for various units.

The weather forecast will show a summary for different cities.

The image editor can add effects to pictures.

Office functions

The section includes applications that work with Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note. Accordingly, these are programs for text documents, tables, presentations and notes. The device allows you not only to view data on the screen, but to create new files of these types or edit existing ones. There are quite a lot of settings, it is unlikely that anyone will manually create a large presentation, but make adjustments to Text Document it will be convenient. But it is worth considering that the Word 97-2003 format cannot be edited. These steps only apply to newer versions. It all comes down to the fact that file sharing is difficult here. The document can be sent by email, uploaded to SkyDrive or to Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.

Search

The dedicated key is responsible for the Bing search engine. It opens when you click on this button and will search for data based on the words entered. You cannot assign another system, for example Google or Yandex. In this case, the data found is divided into two categories: Internet and images. Accordingly, the first section offers text content, and the second graphic.

Navigation

Bing Maps currently performs poorly. Here it is worth criticizing both the inaccurate positioning and the lack of any capabilities. For example, you can’t even get directions. However, there is no localization; street names are indicated in Latin letters.

Marketplace

As the name suggests, this menu serves as a source for finding new programs. You will need a Windows Live account to make purchases. It’s easy to get it, then you need to add your data bank card to purchase software. If you don’t add it, you’ll only be able to install free apps, which is logical. The menu is divided into groups. The first consists of programs and games. Then they go separately. The latter includes some application. On home page number is displayed available updates for software, if such appeared. By selecting a section, you can see the offered software, divided into different categories for ease of searching. However, this is in theory. In practice, when I type “angry birds” into the search, I end up getting not only those same birds in the results window, but also other programs that have nothing to do with them.

Each application is provided with screenshots and an icon picture. The price is indicated, and it is given in the currency of the state whose information is indicated in the account. For example, I have English Account Live, the price will be given in pounds. When I started using Russian accounts, the price tag became in ruble equivalent. The program's rating, reviews, and its size are displayed. If you wish, you can download the demo version and try it. Before you give money for a full-fledged application.

Games

For those who like to game on their phone, the Xbox LIVE section will be of interest. It duplicates the capabilities of the Marketplace by offering a variety of entertainment apps. The user receives a virtual character who earns new achievements over time.

Connections

The smartphone supports work in GSM frequencies 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 900/2100, provides reception speeds of up to 7.2 Mbit/s and transmission speeds of 2 Mbit/s. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n works well, reception is reliable, network passwords are saved. In this case, locking the screen causes disconnection from the Wi-Fi network. Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR will allow you to listen to music on wireless headphones. Transferring data to other devices is not possible; the phone does not allow file transfer.

Profiles

The device offers a single sound profile. It is not possible to configure multiple alert options. At the same time, a significant drawback can be considered the combination of sound in applications and alert signals. For example, by muting the music in the player, it automatically decreases in volume for calls, SMS notifications, and alarms. It is difficult to understand what caused this logic, but in practice this option is inconvenient. You can set your own ringtones via Zune; the principle here is somewhat similar to creating a ringtone in iTunes.

Battery

HTC Mozart is complete lithium-ion battery capacity 1300 mAh. According to official data, the phone operates up to 360/435 hours in GSM/WCDMA standby mode, or up to 405/330 minutes in talk mode. As for the actual lifetime indicators on a single charge, the situation is as follows. When using the device with little activity, it can be charged once every 1.5-2 days. If you listen to music for about two hours, talk for 30 minutes, take about 15 pictures, and also use social services and receive mail at background, then the phone will die during daylight hours. That is, by evening the phone may not survive. In general, in terms of autonomy, the model is very similar to Android devices. Overall, there are no significant differences here from last year. HTC Desire, which has the same hardware component.

The battery saving option will extend the life of the phone; it will disable some functions. Charging from a computer's USB connector is supported. Total time Charging the phone takes a little over an hour. In continuous video playback mode, the phone worked for 3 hours 20 minutes at maximum screen brightness with Wi-Fi turned on. This is not much, but the device became very hot.

Conclusion

The speaker here is good and loud, with a decent amount of headroom. Skip incoming call difficult, the device rings loudly. The vibration alert is average in strength.

Russia became the first country in Europe to receive the latest version of the software. The HTC 7 Mozart itself is far from new; it has been sold in other countries for quite a long time. A price tag of 12,990 rubles for a well-assembled smartphone with good screen, a monolithic aluminum body, an autofocus camera and a new platform does not seem so tall. In any case, if you glance through the windows, you won’t be able to find anything similar for that kind of money. In addition, MTS users also receive a year of free use. mobile Internet, which amounts to about 3,000 rubles in monetary terms. In general terms, it turns out to be a pleasant “dialer” made from high-quality materials, a fast interface and a basic set of multimedia functions.

The platform itself today works very stable and fast. But it's missing here additional applications, many standard features offer modest capabilities. There is no point in criticizing the new mobile OS, since any system takes several years to acquire applications and the capabilities of a standard shell. The question is whether there are enough people willing to buy such devices. After all, HTC 7 Mozart is the most inexpensive way to the world of a new platform. Other devices promise to be much more expensive: for example, HTC Radar costs about 19,000 rubles.

Most WP7 smartphones are not much different - Microsoft has strictly set the requirements for software and hardware specifications. But what makes the HTC 7 Mozart stand out from other HTC smartphones, such as the HD7 and Trophy? The fact is that HTC 7 Mozart pays special attention to sound quality. It uses SRS WOW HD virtual surround sound - the sound panorama is increased even in headphones, the bass sounds more realistic and more small details are heard.

The HTC 7 Mozart is slightly smaller in size than the HTC 7 Trophy and HTC HD7, and has a better camera (8 MP versus 5 MP).

The phone has 8 gigabytes of built-in memory, it cannot be increased - memory cards are not supported.

There is a lot on the back panel: a camera lens, a xenon flash, a small external speaker (often mistaken for a micro-USD port for a charger), Orange, HTC and Windows Phone logos, as well as HTC stylistic elements - triangular rubberized segments at the top and bottom , the body itself is made of aluminum.

The front panel contains familiar hardware buttons: return, menu and search. Very strict and serious.

In addition to these buttons, along the edges there are: camera shutter, volume controls, and on top there is a lock and power button. There is also a 3.5 mm headphone output.

HTC 7 Mozart is a fairly thin and light device. But in the hand it lies firmly and confidently. The aluminum body makes its presence felt.

3.7-inch WVGA screen (even though it's not as large as the HTC HD7, nor is it Super AMOLED, like the Samsung Omnia 7) is very bright and clear.

The camera of the HTC 7 Mozart is very good - 8 megapixels - the most best camera among all WP7 smartphones. The interface is exactly the same as that of HTC HD7 and HTC 7 Trophy.

It’s a little disappointing that the camera focuses only on the center of the picture; on the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, focusing occurs in the place where you point your finger.

Colors are vibrant and the separation of shadows and reds is well done.

In the upper left corner the brightness is slightly reduced, the leaves on the tree completely merge.

It is impossible to shoot without blur in this mode. This is the most optimal distance at which you can shoot. It's all about the lack of a stabilizer, a shutter button on the screen and the design of the shutter button.

The camera has a 6x zoom. Full zoom, as you would expect, produces a very pixelated image. The slightest movement blurs the picture, making it very difficult to take a high-quality photo.

Other effects are standard. Monochrome photography is not bad, but a little overexposed.

Sepia effect - the picture is too orange.

The negative effect works well - autumn trees look like they were photographed in spring.

One of the most questionable effects. The HTC 7 Mozart camera copes with it quite well.

The flash is very bright, and even too bright for portrait photography. Due to the dual flash, the camera takes pictures very slowly - first the camera shutter sounds, and only then the flash fires. Every now and then a photograph was taken at a moment when the moment had already passed.

The xenon flash slows down the shooting, but there's no denying the fact that it's very good. The problem is that you have to hold the camera for too long without moving, and at the slightest movement the photo turns out to be blurry.

Without flash and in low light, the picture is very dark, without details.

Several professional features have been added to the camera: a brightness check, which helps determine how much light a photo needs; reducing flicker from monitors and TVs. The benefits of these things are rather doubtful, the difference with or without them is imperceptible. But it’s nice that the camera even has such little things.

It’s useless to use the sports mode with a flash - you simply won’t have time to take the right shot. Without a flash you will be able to take it, but the photo will be too blurry, like in this photo.

There was no real beach to test this mode, so the picture was taken in the trees. I want to believe that these are beach trees. Brightness is reduced for balance. In general, you probably shouldn’t take your phones to the beach—sand and water can damage them.]

Candlelight mode adds blue to balance out the warm candlelight. There's even too much blue.

Video

HTC 7 Mozart shoots HD video at 720p. The shooting quality is exactly the same as that of HTC Desire HD, Sony Ericsson Vivaz and Nokia N8. (By the way, RIM promises that their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will shoot Full HD 1080p.)

As you can see in this clip, the video recorder constantly monitors the light level and autofocus, but it is slightly delayed, so the brightness is sometimes too high, overexposed, and the focus floats.

Sound

The phone's built-in speaker reproduces sound quite well, even without activating SRS or Dolby, the sound is very different from cheaper phones. When you enable the Dolby Mobile effect through the pre-installed HTC Sound Enhancer application, the sound becomes approximately the same as on a dual-speaker iPhone 4. The only negative is that when listening to music through an external speaker, the phone must be placed sideways or with the back cover up.

More about strangely located elements. The volume controls on the HTC 7 Mozart are extremely inconvenient to use, since they are located on the inside of the curved end. Changing the volume or launching the playback widget with one hand is unlikely to be possible.
Another annoyance is the pauses between tracks, even if you listen to the songs from the album in order. And the only random play option is to shuffle all the songs on the phone.

Headphones are used for more than just listening music files, but also as an antenna for FM radio. Unfortunately, there is no normal application for listening to the radio on your phone. Autoscan could not find a single station, so you have to search manually, and this is very tedious. Adding stations to your favorites is very simple - with one click.

When it comes to video playback, this is where SRS virtual surround sound comes into its own. When watching movies, to fully experience the sound effect, it is best to use headphones: the sounds of explosions, gunshots and others surround you from all sides - the sensation is unique. The SRS effect is even better than Dolby Mobile.

Picture quality on the WVGA screen is quite good (though it is smaller than the HTC HD7 phone - only 3.7 inches rather than 4.3), especially when viewed vertically.

If you are used to the ultra-contrast Super AMOLED screen of your phone Samsung Galaxy S, the HTC 7 Mozart screen will disappoint you. Even despite a fairly fast video processor, the video manages to freeze, and color reproduction is not always correct.
The screen brightness is adjustable only in three positions - low, medium and high.

Supported audio formats:

Supported video formats:

  • Playback: 3GP, 3G2, MP4, M4V, MBR, WMV (Windows Media Video 9 and VC-1)
  • Entry: MP4

Battery

The HTC 7 Mozart has a Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1300 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, will provide the phone with 330 minutes of talk time or 435 hours of standby time. Don't put too much faith in these numbers. At first the battery began to discharge very quickly, then it began to discharge more slowly. But you are unlikely to get 5.5 hours of talk time on a single charge.

Don't expect the phone to last 18 days on standby mode. If you use it less intensively, you have to charge it every day. For intensive use - every 5 hours.

Capacity: 1300 mAh

In conversation mode:

  • WCDMA: Up to 330 minutes
  • GSM: Up to 405 minutes

In standby:

  • WCDMA: Up to 435 hours
  • GSM: Up to 360 hours

Conclusion

HTC 7 Mozart is one of the most best phones on the Windows Phone 7 platform - a system with an amazingly beautiful design, a new approach to home page in the form of live tiles and filling the interface design with your own content.

pros

  • Very good sound thanks to the use of SRS virtual sound, especially when watching movies.
  • Very light, with rubberized elements, the HTC 7 Mozart will serve you faithfully until it becomes completely obsolete.
  • The camera takes great pictures, albeit slowly (especially with flash).

Minuses

  • The black body doesn't quite suit this phone; the volume controls are not very conveniently located.

Verdict

HTC 7 Mozart is an excellent phone on the Windows Phone 7 platform. Everything about it is thought out to the smallest detail, HTC is a reliable manufacturer, and you don’t have to worry about the quality of the device.

The phone has a very good music part and address book. But even with its 1-Hz processor and 576 megabytes of RAM, it sometimes manages to freeze on the simplest tasks.

Original appearance. At the same time extremely practical. In three years of use (without cases or films) there is not a scratch on the metal case, on the glass only in the upper left corner (from lightning), and even then small ones. The appearance is still a solid four. Glitch-free and stable OS, acceptable functionality and unique appearance. After two years on Windows Mobile 6.1-6.5 WP7 simply amazed me with its interface (everything is so cool and unusual, wow... These were my first thoughts). The Android interface is still difficult for me to distinguish from WM =D Overall balance of characteristics, despite the hardware shortcomings of this smart device. Because the biggest ones (battery, data storage) can be easily solved: Mugen Power 1800 mAh battery, opening the device and installing microSD SanDisk 3

Terrible smartphone! Never buy it for anything! I got it with Windows 7, now there are no updates, many programs simply don’t work, for example Instagram. CONSTANTLY hangs, slows down, glitches and turns off, especially in cold weather! There is no flashlight, radio, voice recorder, front camera or other basic functions. Discharges during active use in a matter of minutes. The screen is very easy to break, and replacing it will cost almost the full cost of the phone itself; it’s easier to buy a new one. The charging socket is also very weak and loose. The built-in memory capacity is only 2G, and it is impossible to install a flash drive in it, it is not provided by the manufacturer. If your device runs out of memory (lots of music, photos or videos), then forget about shooting video - nothing will work. All media files are downloaded only through the Zu program

The device is, to put it mildly, crude. Crude and glitchy. When upgrading to 7.8, the device begins to work much worse with domestic providers. MTS is generally a disaster. Constantly randomly loses connection even on the street near the tower. The battery is very small. Spruce-spruce is enough for a day (I’m glad that it’s removable). The camera clearly does not live up to the specified characteristics, it is more like a budget Chinese no-name.

With the MTS SIM card he finally behaves badly! In some places the connection finally disappears, although when you plug it into another phone the connection is good! The biggest disadvantage is that there is no conductor! (and bluetooth only works on Windows OS, it doesn’t want to communicate with Android! The battery is absolutely terrible! I have enough data transfer for 7 hours with the data transfer turned on!

For me, there are probably only two major ones: the dead end of the OS development, and the logical lack of due attention from developers third party software. I just got the impression that the guys from MS simply gave up on it, although again, I repeat, the OS at first looked much more attractive than its competitors.

IN modern world may not be as pleasant as you would like. After all, there are so many offers on the market of goods and services now! And sometimes you can get confused in them. Now we have to get acquainted with a smartphone called HTC 7 Mozart. It's pretty new model latest generation gadgets. This means that she can somehow attract attention to herself. But what exactly is good about this phone? You can answer only after studying all technical characteristics smartphone. In addition, before purchasing, it is also important to know what pitfalls may prevent the buyer from fully enjoying the device. Don't be afraid, all phones have such moments.

Dimensions and weight

HTC 7 Mozart is a real communicator phone. And for any calling device, its dimensions, as well as its weight, are important. After all, it is not always convenient to use a large smartphone. And our version today is quite compact. Especially when you compare it with all modern phones.

HTC 7 Mozart measures 60 millimeters wide, 119 millimeters long and 12 millimeters thick. Yes, it’s quite, but it’s convenient to use, as the reviews say. And hold it in your hands too. Of course, calling using HTC 7 Mozart is also comfortable. Especially if this smartphone is used by a child or girl with small hands. In truth, not every manufacturer can now offer such a compact phone.

The weight of the device is also pleasing. Together with the battery it is about 130 grams. Not as much as it might seem at first glance. Most phones now weigh from 160 grams, sometimes even without a battery. So if you need a smartphone that is not only compact, but also lightweight, then it’s time to take a closer look at the HTC 7 Mozart.

Screen

Next, it is important to pay attention to such a feature as the screen. Many buyers will note that it does not look very similar to the standard one. After all, its diagonal is not particularly large - only 3.7 inches. When compared with modern analogues, the average diagonal is about 4.7-5 inches. Thus, HTC is a miniature phone that is very convenient to use. True, it will simply be impossible to play modern games on such a small display, reviews warn.

It is also worth noting that the HTC Mozart 7's characteristics are not very satisfactory in terms of screen resolution. It is only 800 by 480 pixels. Not enough for a modern phone. But if you need a smartphone solely for work purposes, then this should be enough. You can surf the Internet and read books too. It is also possible to watch videos or photos.

But there are also quite positive aspects to the HTC 7 Mozart. For example, despite its small touch display, the screen is capable of transmitting up to 16 million colors. This allows the image to always remain bright, clear and rich. In sunny weather, the picture on the display will not fade. So “HTC” is an excellent phone that will allow you to use all its capabilities in different weather conditions. And all this without harm to the nerves or vision.

Operating system and processor

As you may have already noticed, the HTC 7 Mozart has slightly non-standard characteristics for a modern phone. But nevertheless, there is one small feature that still attracts buyers. We are talking about the operating system. To be honest, it and the processor play an important role in the performance of the device. Especially if the buyer simply needs budget smartphone, which will perform a variety of functions.

The HTC 7 Mozart smartphone is an option that allows us to get acquainted with an operating system such as Windows Phone. This phone has version 7.5 installed. If you have not worked with this operating system before, then this is a great reason to start your acquaintance with something new, and not with the familiar Android. We can say that the HTC 7 Mozart is an excellent smartphone that will help you learn all the features of Windows Phone. On it you can run a variety of useful applications and games. True, there are not as many toys as we would like. But the smartphone, according to reviews, will always differ in its functionality. Plus, you don’t have to constantly think about how to reflash HTC 7 Mozart. Reviews indicate that for Windows Phone there are many programs that run on a computer that will help you quickly implement your idea. It’s enough just to find the one that seems more convenient to you regarding the interface.

But the processor of the HTC 7 Mozart is not that powerful. It only has 2 cores. And each with a 1 GHz frequency. Not much. Especially if you wanted to play modern toys from the mobile industry. However, it was initially noted that we were not dealing with a gaming phone. In general, for several interesting games and a bunch useful applications This power is quite enough. You shouldn't abandon the model because of the processor. In fact, he showed himself worthy. This is emphasized by the reviews left about the HTC 7 Mozart.

RAM

True, not only the processor is responsible for the performance of the phone. There is one more small point. It's called RAM. No matter how powerful the processor is, there is no need for it if there is not enough RAM. More precisely, when it does not correspond to all other characteristics of the smartphone. HTC phone 7 Mozart can only boast in this regard. After all, the RAM is quite good for this model.

Although many buyers claim that it is not enough. We will be offered only 512 MB of RAM. For modern smartphone this is an extremely low figure. After all, it is often RAM that helps run games and applications. But if you consider that the HTC 7 Mozart is a budget version of a smartphone, you can understand why this figure is not very high. In principle, in combination with a 1 GHz processor, RAM works extremely well. And this allows the operating system to clearly and quickly respond to commands sent by the user. This is exactly what many buyers need.

Space

In addition, an important point is the free space on the phone. The HTC 7 Mozart smartphone cannot boast of too much performance here. After all, the buyer will be offered only 8 GB of space. Of these, about 1.5 will be occupied by the operating system. This means that there will be about 6 GB left for personal data. It's not that much. And for a modern user, 6 gigabytes of free space is a mere trifle.

In principle, for the average buyer who does not expect that a budget version of a smartphone will offer him incredible capabilities, this should be enough. And if you consider that the HTC Mozart 7’s characteristics simply do not allow it to run heavy, cool games, the problem should disappear by itself. But if you are sorely short of 6 GB of free space, then the smartphone has one interesting function.

Memory card

For example, you can connect additional card memory to the device. Fortunately, such an opportunity is present here. It is worth immediately noting that in Lately There is a clear trend in which there is no card slot in phones. But not the HTC 7 Mozart, photos of which are presented to our attention in the article.

If there is a shortage of space, you can connect a MicroSD memory card to the device. True, there are some restrictions here. For example, the maximum allowable card size is 64 GB. Plus everything completely this place It is not recommended to fill in information. After all, then you will begin to experience system failures and problems. And this does not make buyers very happy. Therefore, according to many users, it is best to fill about 62-63 GB of space on the card with personal data. And at the same time leave about 1 GB free. In principle, as a budget smartphone, the HTC 7 Mozart so far offers quite good capabilities.

Connection

Many people wonder how to flash HTC 7 Mozart. But not every buyer pays attention to such a point as the supported types of communication on the phone. Initially, the smartphone was invented precisely so that people could call each other and provide information. This means that communication plays an important role.

Fortunately, in our case everything is in perfect order. But it could have been a little better. Initially, HTC 7 Mozart gives us the ability to connect to 2G and 3G networks. In addition, if necessary, you can use GPS or GPRS. The phone also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth version 2.1. The data transfer speed over the last connection will not be as fast as we would like. But it will still be of high quality.

If desired, you can connect to 4G. Initially, the phone does not have this feature, despite the fact that it is quite new. But with the right approach, downloading additional applications and flashing the firmware, it’s worth a try. In practice, buyers rarely perform this procedure. After all, if it fails, the HTC 7 Mozart will need repair. Moreover, you will have to explain what caused the breakdown.

Camera

Well, now even the most basic phone should be able to take pictures. So the camera in the device plays an important role. And of course, it would be nice if it turned out to be of quite high quality. In the case of "HTC 7 Mozart" this is true.

The point is that the buyer will be offered a camera resolution of 8 megapixels. By modern standards, not very much, but in capable hands, as buyers assure, this is a very good indicator. In addition, the model has autofocus, flash and face recognition technology. You won't be able to shoot in Full HD format, but you can make a high-quality video. The resolution with which you can record is 1280 by 720 pixels. The wave is a decent indicator for a modern budget smartphone.

True, some are not happy that this model does not have a front camera. Many people prefer to use it. By the way, making video calls with HTC 7 Mozart is not very convenient. Again due to the lack of a front camera. But, as practice shows, this is not such a common occurrence among modern buyers. It is better to be able to take high-quality pictures than to make calls using video.

Price and equipment

As has already been said many times, the HTC 7 Mozart is a budget smartphone. But what does it mean? To be honest, you can buy this model By affordable price. Yes, the phone's capabilities are not so diverse, but for the proposed price tag this is enough. After all, you can find such a model in a store for about 3,000 rubles. Prices vary, but usually do not exceed 6000. Acceptable for many buyers. "HTC 7 Mozart" is an excellent choice for a first-grader. The child will learn how to use a smartphone, and parents will not have to overpay. In addition, the inability to launch new games helps to increase the student’s academic performance. This makes teachers and parents happy.

The package contents when purchasing are also important. For example, you will be offered instructions for the HTC 7 Mozart, a headset, a charger, a battery, as well as a cable for connecting and synchronizing with a computer. In principle, the equipment of HTC 7 Mozart is standard. And it suits almost every buyer.

Underwater rocks

Well, every phone has its own disadvantages that are not related to technical characteristics. The point is that no one is immune from breakdowns and failures. And certain smartphone models, as a rule, have a number of their own problems. "HTC 7 Mozart" has them too. And now we will get to know them.

For example, many customers complain that after several years of use, HTC Mozart 7 does not turn on. This can happen for several reasons. The first is that the battery is broken (such cases are quite common). The battery is replaced and charged, the problem disappears. The second is a system failure. It will help to contact a service center or do it yourself.

In addition, very often the HTC 7 Mozart breaks down touch screen. In other words, he stops responding to touch. In this case, you will have to use help service center. True, if you are very careful with your smartphone, then such surprises should not happen.

It's also worth noting that some buyers complain about the phone's poor performance. In fact, the culprit for all this is a lot of information that is stored in the device. No repairs are required - just clear your smartphone of unnecessary and redundant data.

Results

So you and I found out what it is HTC smartphone 7 Mozart. Now it’s time to ask yourself a very logical question: should you pay attention to this model? cell phone? Everyone must answer this on their own. But in practice, we can only say that “HTC 7 Mozart” is really worthy of attention. Especially if you need inexpensive smartphone with a great camera.

If you need a gaming phone, you will have to abandon this model. It's not suitable for gaming at all. HTC 7 Mozart is an excellent solution for those who need a phone exclusively for business. There is nothing superfluous in it, no temptations. In addition, this is also an excellent solution for primary school students.

In October 2010, HTC announced a number of phones based on the Windows Phone 7 operating system. However, only 11 months later one of them was able to reach Russian market with updated software - "Mango". This is where WP7 begins its journey across our wide open spaces.

I must say that the HTC Mozart smartphone itself cannot boast of anything original, except for the OS: a “gigahertz” processor, 8 GB of flash memory for data storage, an 8-megapixel camera with the ability to record HD video, a 3.7-inch display with standard resolution 480x800 pixels. However, the price of the new product is captivating, which should be about 13,000 rubles. From my point of view, this is a quite competitive price, considering that for this amount there is practically nothing similar (this applies to both the operating system and technical characteristics) in our market. We will not take into account “gray” devices.

Design, build quality, controls

Traditionally, HTC makes high-quality phones, using metal and plastic as the main materials when creating the body, which in “Mozart” is also made of a metal frame with gray plastic inserts in the form of triangles. A similar design can be seen in the example of HTC “Sensation”, but there are gray “triangles” of different shades. The assembly is perfect: nothing creaks, no play, back cover The battery compartment is held tightly. It’s pleasant to hold the smartphone in your hand not only thanks to the smooth curves of the ends of the phone, but also to the slight cooling sensation from the aluminum surface. If fingerprints remain, they are absolutely invisible. They appear on the screen, but are easily erased.

On the front panel, behind a metal decorative mesh, there is a speaker, next to it is an indicator of missed events, and below is a proximity indicator. The speaker has a reserve in volume, the interlocutor can be heard clearly, the timbre is very pleasant. Below the screen there are three touch keys: “back”, “Win” and “search”. They are convenient to use. When you long press “back”, a menu appears with all running applications.

On the right side there is a two-position camera activation button, on the left there is a microUSB connector without a plug and a volume rocker key. It seemed to me not very convenient due to the fact that it is located on the bend of the end. The 3.5 mm jack and the phone's on/off button are on the top end, and the microphone is on the bottom. On the back of the case there is a camera peephole, a xenon flash and a slot where the speakerphone is hidden.

To access the SIM card, you need to pull the bottom plastic insert, unclip the fastener and remove the battery.

Screen

The display diagonal is 3.7 inches, resolution 480x800 pixels, made using Super-LCD technology, displays up to 16 million shades of color, sensor type – capacitive with support for multi-touch (“multi-touch”) up to 4 simultaneous touches, screen coating – Gorilla Glass , i.e. It is not easy to cause any mechanical damage. There is an accelerometer. The brightness is very high, can be adjusted manually or with a light sensor. The display fades in the sun, but not critically.

The picture quality is good, viewing angles are large, and the brightness drops slightly when tilted. In terms of “black depth” it is much inferior to AMOLED and even more so SuperAMOLED, although the image does not lose its “liveliness”. In terms of clarity, it can be compared with HTC Desire S.

Comparison of screens HTC Mozart (left) (S-LCD), Nokia E7 (AMOLED), Samsung i9000 (right) (SuperAMOLED):

Camera

The device has a camera with an 8 megapixel sensor with automatic focusing and a xenon flash. On the one hand, the use of this type of backlight is advisable for obtaining better illumination of the object, on the other hand, it cannot be used as a flashlight. Maximum size photos that can be obtained are 3264x2448 pixels. The Mozart video is shot in HD720p resolution 1280x720 pixels at 24 frames per second.

The photos are of good quality: color rendition is natural, white balance is not disturbed, and thanks to the shallow depth of field, the frames come out no worse than expensive point-and-shoot cameras. The maximum automatically set ISO value is from 100 to 1000. When shooting video, autofocus works, focusing speed is up to 2 seconds.

The camera is launched through the menu. You can focus either using touch focus (without selecting the focus point) or by half-pressing the mechanical key.

Like the entire interface of the WP7 shell, the camera interface looks minimalistic: at the bottom right are settings, a little higher is digital zoom, even higher is switching photo-video mode. In order to view the previous frame or video, you need to swipe your finger across the screen from left to right in landscape viewing mode.

Autonomous operation

HTC Mozart uses a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery with a capacity of 1300 mAh. Model – BB96100. The manufacturer claims that the smartphone will work up to 430 hours in standby mode, and up to five and a half hours in talk mode.

Frankly speaking, I expected lower power consumption from the Windows Phone 7 operating system compared to Android. Unfortunately, the conclusions are as follows: the average battery life is less than a day. My scheme for using HTC Mozart was as follows: 15-20 minutes of calls a day, about 2 hours of listening to music, about an hour of watching videos, the same amount of camera use, three hours of working with Wi-Fi network(Twitter, mail, installing applications).

You can charge the device from USB in 1.5 hours or from the network in a little less time.

There is a “battery saver” option in your phone settings. It displays the charge level as a percentage, an estimate of the remaining time and the time since the last charge. If you enable the “save” option, then when a certain level of battery discharge is reached, some services will be disabled, for example, running applications in the background, data transfer over the 3G network.

Interestingly, the low battery indicator is not permanently displayed in the menu. To view this scale, you need to swipe your finger from top to bottom. By the way, an indicator of signal reception level, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth will also appear there.

Performance

HTC Mozart has a Snapdragon chipset and a Qualcomm QSD8250 processor. Its release took place back in 2008. It has ARMv7 architecture, clock frequency 1000 MHz, technological process - 65 nm. HTC HD7, Dell Venue, HTC Trophy, Acer Stream and others are equipped with the same processor. Random access memory 576 MB, for data storage - 8 GB flash memory. There is no memory card slot.

After testing, I can safely say that in terms of performance it is not inferior to modern dual-core solutions on the Android OS: the interface works smoothly, applications launch instantly, the Web browser “flies”, and I have not observed any small slowdowns that are often characteristic of Android.

Below is a performance test using the Benchmark Free app:

Software platform

HTC Mozart running on operating room Windows system Phone 7 (7.5 Mango). Didn't set a goal detailed description all changes new version I hope its the most full review will soon be on our website.

Perhaps the most important update was the appearance of multitasking operating system: you launch any application and, if you need to minimize it, press the “Win” button. To launch this program from the same place, hold down “back”. A list will appear running applications on a blue background. Unfortunately, most programs do not yet support multitasking and are loaded again when launched again. But music player, radio, calculator, messages, alarm clock, notebook and other standard applications start from where you left off.

Lock screen

When you connect HTC Mozart to a PC, the system will automatically prompt you to install special software for data synchronization - “Zune”. Without it, the phone is not even detected as a USB-Flash. To transfer data from your phone to your computer and back, you need to synchronize. Photos and videos are saved in “My Documents” - “Images” - “From HTC 7 Mozart T8698 Player”.

Navigation

In "Mozart" there is GPS module(gpsONE seventh generation). To work with navigation, the “Maps” application (Bing Maps) is provided. There are no settings, only location determination. The “cold” start time is about a minute, the “hot” start is up to 5 seconds.

Multimedia

Music

To start the player, you need to go to the menu and select “music + video”. The first menu will open in front of you: music, video, podcasts, radio.

The second menu contains thumbnails of the media content that you launched earlier. If you scroll further to the right, thumbnails of newly downloaded songs or videos will appear. By launching Music and scrolling from left to right, you can organize your music by artist, album, track, playlist, and genre. When playing a song, control buttons, a small album cover, the album name and the song name appear on the screen. You can control the player in the background (to do this, press the volume rocker key) or through the lock screen.

The player itself does not have an equalizer, but in the main menu there is an interesting item called “sound improvement”:

  • No effects
  • Dolby Mobile
  • SRS improvement
  • Equalizer (gain low frequencies, treble boost, vocal boost, blues, classical, country, jazz, latin, new age, piano, pop, rhythm and blues, rock)

The volume in the headphones is high, the sound quality is very good. By ear, the range of reproduced frequencies is from 60 Hz to 16 kHz. What's missing in my opinion is a little deeper lows and transparency in the highs. But anyway, better sound I haven’t heard of it on mobile yet, except that it can be partially compared with Symbian phones.

Supported music formats: .m4a, .m4b, .mp3, .wma (Windows Media Audio 9).

Video

As always, the screen scrolls from left to right: all videos, TV, music, movies, personal. The display shows only those video files that the phone recognizes. By the way, by synchronizing a WP7 smartphone with the Zune, the application understands which file format will be “read” and which will not. Therefore, if HTC Mozart does not understand MKV, you cannot download it.

The interface is very simple: player control and a button to expand the video to full screen. The video player supports 3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .m4v, .mbr, .wmv (Windows Media Video 9 and VC-1), as well as AVI. The maximum resolution is up to 720p and bitrate up to 10,000 Kbps. Videos start instantly and scroll without delay. In short, there were no problems.

Video uses the same audio effects as music.

Radio

Stereo FM radio operating in the range 85 – 108 MHz. Interface: radio frequency scale, current radio station frequency, play/pause and favorite radio channels. The volume is slightly lower than in the player, the sound is of good quality, and the stereo bass is not very pronounced.

Without headphones connected, which act as an antenna, the radio does not work.

There are both English and Russian keyboard layouts for text input. At the first glance at its appearance, I thought that typing would be completely inconvenient: thin, elongated buttons of a small size. But in practice it turned out to be quite comfortable. There were minimal accidental clicks, for example, on my Galaxy i9000 I often miss. To switch the layout, click on ENG/RUS. The keyboard can take both portrait and landscape views.

The only criticism: the font is very small for a 3.7-inch display, and the text doesn’t fit enough (about two or three words on each line - 8 in total).

Contacts and calls

By default, contacts are located on the main screen as a hub. Honestly, I don’t envy those who added a Facebook account and others, because your contacts will be a mess. However, in the settings they are filtered out.

When you select one of the contacts, its avatar and phone number will appear, and the call log will appear on the adjacent screen. Implemented really conveniently. When making a call, an avatar, an icon for activating the speakerphone, muting the microphone, holding a call, and starting the dialer are displayed.

To create a new contact or group, you must click on “+”. For each subscriber the following information is entered: avatar, name, phone number, email, ringtone and Additional Information(address, website, birthday, note, etc.)

“Event log” is located in the “phone” menu.

Applications

To use Windows Marketplace, you must sign up for Windows Live. This can be done easily using your phone or desktop computer. In general, everything is the same as in the case of registration in Android Market. After the entire procedure, the application store will be available to you. It is divided into “programs” and “games”. Downloading content is very similar to the implementation in iOS, where the application shortcut is moved directly to the menu and you see the installation progress. To remove a program, you need to long press on it and select “delete”. Fast and easy.

Below I will list the applications that were installed in this sample.
