Program for controlling a computer via the Internet. Long arms: remote control of a computer from Android devices. How to configure connection settings

Surely not every PC user (especially a beginner) knows that a computer can be safely controlled from a distance, and fully! Those. as if you were sitting and working at your own computer, but from a distance, and doing it, for example, from a tablet or another computer. This can be very convenient and, for example, I use this opportunity regularly. Why do I need it? I work a lot on the Internet, but I can’t always sit at my computer. Sometimes I need to go somewhere or see someone, but some urgent matter comes up and I need my computer to open some program, run something, look at something. Carrying a computer with you always and everywhere is very problematic. It weighs about 4 kg, which feels good when carrying it :) But on the other hand, I always have a tablet or smartphone with me, from which I can connect to my computer at any time and from anywhere, which I leave turned on at home. And this way, I can work on it just as if I were at home. Another reason for remote access is the ability to ask a friend or colleague to help you sort out any problems in the settings or programs on your computer through remote access. You yourself can also help someone solve some problem on their computer by connecting remotely to this person. And lastly... It happens that the right computer is in a hard-to-reach place or you need to walk to it. In this case, the easiest way is to connect to it remotely and you’re done!

This article of mine will talk about how to remotely control a computer from any device, and with the help of this guide you will learn how to do it easily even if you are a complete beginner! We will consider the most, in my opinion, convenient program for this matter - TeamViewer, and today I will tell you about its main most necessary and useful functions. Yes, it is also free for non-commercial use! There are only 2 conditions for remote device management: the presence of an Internet connection on both devices, and the presence of the TeamViewer program on both devices.

Today, the TeamViewer program is supported, one might say, by all devices:

    Smartphones based on Android operating systems, Windows Phone 8;

    Tablets on the same Android and Windows Phone 8 systems;

    iPad of all modifications;

Computers based on the operating system Mac, Linux, Windows.

For all these devices, you can download the TeamViewer app for free.

It is also interesting that you can control it the other way around – smartphones and tablets from a desktop computer.

So, let's begin to understand the program step by step, starting with its installation process.

Installing TeaViewer

First you need to download the program itself. It is best to download from the official website, since the most latest version. Go to the official TeamViewer website using the link:

    teamviewer

At the top of the page that opens, you can’t help but notice the large “Free full version” button. Here we press it:

After downloading the file, find it on your computer and run it. The file will be named: “TeamViewer_Setup_ru”:

The next program window will ask you to select the option to use TeamViewer. These settings can be changed at any time after installation. If you want to control this computer (on which you are installing the program) remotely, then immediately select the appropriate item. Otherwise, simply select Install.

Below, be sure to select the “Personal, non-commercial use” option, since the program is distributed free of charge only for this use case.

At the end, check the box “Show additional settings" and click the "Accept - Next" button:

Account control Windows entries may ask you for confirmation to continue with the installation. Just click “Yes”:

In the next window, check the path where the program will be installed and change it if desired. But I recommend leaving the default path. The options below may not be enabled. All of them, if necessary, can be set after installation. Click the “Finish” button:

A quick program installation process will begin, which will take from a few seconds to a minute.

This completes the installation of the TeamViewer program! Let's move on to its settings and application.

Setting up TeamViewer

Setting up uncontrolled access to a computer:

Now we can freely control this computer from any other device, no matter where we are within the Internet access zone :) But for this, let’s deal with the information that we (or anyone else) need to know so that we can connect to this computer remotely.

Data required for remote control of any device:

Perhaps the most important thing is to know the data by which you can connect remotely to your current computer.

To connect to this computer from another computer / device with TeamViewer installed, you only need to know:

    ID of this computer;

Password for accessing this computer via TeamViewer (not to be confused with the password for logging into Windows!).

All this data is located in the main program window:

According to my example (see image above) to remotely access this computer in this moment I need to specify ID: 900 288 832 and password: 6sx71k on the remote device.

The ID in TeamViewer for each specific computer does not change. Those. the one that is indicated in the window you will always indicate during a remote connection. And there are 2 types of passwords in TeamViewer: temporary (random) and personal (permanent). Now more about this:

I hope you understand the difference in passwords :)

Now let's go through the main most important settings of the program.

Basic program settings:

To go to all program settings, open the “Advanced” menu at the top and select “Options”:

We will immediately be taken to the “Main” tab. Here you can enable or disable automatic launch of TeamViewer when booting Windows. If you are going to control this computer remotely, then I strongly recommend leaving this item enabled. Then you don’t have to launch TeamViewer manually, especially if you are far away and TeamViewer is at this computer will not be launched, you will not be able to connect to it.

Below you can see a message that you are linked to the account you created earlier. If you click the "Delete" button, you can break this connection.

On this tab, there are no more important settings that are not set by default. Go to the next tab “Security”.

On the “Security” tab we can change the “Personal” password by entering a new one and repeating it at the very top. Below you can set up a “random” password by specifying the number of characters. By default, such a password will always be 6 characters long.

In the last section, “Rules for connecting to this computer,” you can allow or deny logging in remotely using Windows password. It's safest to leave this parameter set by default, i.e. - "Is not allowed". The easiest way to connect is through a TeamViewer password and it will be safer this way.

“Remote control” tab. There are important settings. All these settings are global - i.e. for any connection. But if you have created an account for yourself (as discussed), then for each computer added to your personal list, you can set your own connection parameters, but more on that later.

This is what the settings on this tab look like:

At the very top you can adjust the image quality when connecting to a remote computer. It’s better to leave either “ Automatic selection quality" or "Optimize speed". I always set speed optimization to connect to a remote machine and work with virtually no delays even through Mobile Internet. There is only one minus - the image quality (the way we see the remote computer) will not be the best, but sometimes this is not even noticeable.

Below, as you can see, the “Hide wallpaper on the remote machine” option is enabled. This means that when you connect to a remote computer, the desktop background there will become just black. I always leave this option enabled so as not to waste resources on loading a sometimes large background image.

Even lower are additional settings that can be configured according to everyone’s preferences. For example, if the “Play computer sounds and music” function is enabled, you will accordingly hear all the sounds of the remote computer.

It can be useful to enable the “Send keyboard shortcut” option. If you enable this option, then when you connect to a remote computer, you will be able to use your usual keyboard shortcuts. For example, a quick way to open the task manager is “Ctrl+Shift+Esc”.

In general, here you configure it as you need.

Let’s go straight to the “Computers and Contacts” tab.

The “Computers and Contacts” tab will display your account settings, which will then show all the remote computers and users you have added. On this tab you can change your account information, as well as computer display settings.

At this point we have discussed the basic settings. Now let's move on to the main thing - remote computer control.

The principle of remote computer control

We can, as I already said, control a computer or any other device (TeamViewer must also be installed and configured on them!) from any point where there is access to the Internet and we just need to know the ID of the managed device and its password (random or permanent ). Knowing these 2 parameters, we can control the computer.

Let's try to connect to the computer remotely:

In the main TeamViewer window, where the “Manage Computer” section is located, indicate the ID of the computer that we will manage in the “Partner ID” field.

If you created an account, then we can immediately add the computer to our “Favorites” list by clicking the button with an asterisk:

A window for access settings for the computer that we add to the list will open in front of us:

In the image above, I have marked the fields and lists where it is best to make changes:

    • We specify the password if you know the “personal” password of the remote computer. Otherwise, leave the field blank.

Specify the network name of the remote computer (for your own convenience). It will appear in the list of your computers.

If you wish, you can specify a description of the remote computer to be added for convenience if you have a large list of them.

In the Window list, I selected Full Screen Mode. This means that when connected to a remote computer, TeamViewer will display the remote computer in full screen. It will look like you are fully working on that computer. You can select another option, for example “Windowed Mode”, and then the remote computer will be displayed in the window.

In the “Quality” list, I always select “Optimize speed” so as not to sacrifice performance, especially when connected to a slow Internet.

It is better to always set “Identification mode” to “TeamViewer Identification”. Then you will only need to know the password set for a particular computer in the TeamViewer program to connect to it.

The remaining settings can be left with the “Inherited” value, because, as a rule, there is no need for them and, in extreme cases, they can be configured at any time.

When the settings are set, click the “OK” button.

The computers that you will add to your list will be visible in a separate window, as in my example in the image below:

In the example, I added a computer named “Test TeamViewer”.

Now that the computer is in the list, to connect to it, simply double-click on its name. If you immediately specified a password, it will not be requested and the connection will occur immediately (within a couple of seconds).

Another way to quickly connect to a computer, if for some reason you did not create an account and do not add computers to your favorites list, is to simply enter the ID in the appropriate field and click “Connect to partner”:

The default mode is “Remote Control”, which is what we need. And we can enable the “File Transfer” mode at any time during a remote session.

Now a window will appear where you need to enter a password to connect to the remote computer:

Enter the password and click the “Login” button.

The connection usually occurs in a couple of seconds, but this depends on the speed of the Internet on both sides. After connecting to the remote computer, the window will look like this:

As you can see, the screen of the remote computer is black. As you probably remember, in the settings we left the “Hide wallpaper on the remote machine” option enabled. As a result, the wallpaper on the remote machine became black, which will reduce resource consumption, and immediately after disconnecting from the remote computer, its desktop wallpaper will return to its previous appearance.

This is how simple and easy it is to connect to a remote computer :)

You will be able to fully control your computer from any distance, and at the same time it will look exactly as if you were sitting at that computer.

Let me remind you once again that the same can be done from almost any device. If you, for example, have an iPad, then download TeamViewer onto it (it’s always free!), enter the ID and password of the remote computer, and that’s it! You will connect and be able to control it directly from your tablet, and it’s also very convenient!

Now let's look at some of the functions available to us during a remote session.

Functions available during a remote computer session using TeamViewer:

So, we are connected to a remote computer. At the top we see a panel with a set of functions. Let's go through the most necessary of them:

The button numbered “1” allows you to immediately terminate the connection with the remote computer.
After any termination of a TeamViewer session on both devices, a window will be displayed indicating that the free session has ended. Just always click "OK":

You can also instantly terminate the connection while on that remote computer. For example, someone remotely helps you set up a system or fixes a problem. If suddenly that person began to do some actions on your computer that, in your opinion, he does not need to do at all, then you can break the connection with just one button in the form of a cross (see image below):

The button numbered “2” allows you to hide this panel of remote session functions.

The button numbered “3” allows you to instantly switch to full-screen mode, which I use in 99% of cases.

A very useful feature is transferring files from local computer to the remote one and back. You can do this by simply dragging and dropping necessary files from your computer window to the remote computer window.

Another way is to use a special manager – “File Transfer”. It opens from the same panel that is fixed at the top. Select “File Transfer”, and then “File Transfer” again:

A special manager will open - Explorer. There is nothing complicated here either. We indicate from which folder on the local computer the file will be transferred, then indicate the folder where exactly the file will be transferred to the remote computer. Then select the file itself on the local computer that we will transfer and click the “Send” button:

The file will be transferred to the remote computer. In my example, I transferred an image file called "" from the "Downloads" folder to the remote computer's desktop:

After transferring the necessary data, the file transfer manager can be closed, and a window will be displayed with statistics on the transfer of your files, where you need to click “Close” again:

Or you can minimize this window.

There are 3 more very useful functions, which are available during the remote session. This includes voice communication, video broadcasting and chat support.

All these 3 functions can be activated by selecting the “Audio/Video” menu:

Here you can change the scaling, for example, enable full screen mode. Here, in the “Quality” submenu, you can select the quality you want for displaying content on the remote computer, for example, by turning on “Optimize speed”. Also here you can change the resolution of the remote computer (for example, if the resolution of your local computer is very different) and show / hide the wallpaper on the remote machine. Everything else is not so significant and necessary...

Well, that’s probably all the most useful things you need to know about how to remotely control a computer using TeamViewer :) Cool program, isn’t it? :)

The most important thing is that it is extremely simple, convenient, and even a beginner can handle it. And, of course, it’s free! In general, to be honest, I have not seen a better worthy replacement for the TeamViewer program.

And now I think that in a couple of weeks I will already write an article, and you will be able to familiarize yourself with the next testing of the new autoclicker!

Well, now I say goodbye to you for a week... Good luck to you and always have a good mood! ;)

Remote Desktop Software, more accurately called software remote access or remote control software, allows you to remotely control one computer from another. By remote control we really mean remote control remote control- you can take a mouse and keyboard and use the computer you are connected to just like your own.

Remote desktop software is truly useful for a variety of situations, from helping your dad who lives 500 miles away work through a computer problem, to remotely managing from your office in New York the dozens of servers you run in a Singapore data center!

Typically, accessing a computer remotely requires installing a piece of software on the computer you want to connect to, called host. Once this is done, another computer or device with the correct credentials, called client, can connect to the host and control it.

Don't let the technical aspects of remote desktop software scare you away. The best free remote access programs listed below require no more than a few clicks to get started—no special computer knowledge required.

Note. Remote Desktop is also the actual name of the built-in remote access tool in Windows operating systems. It is ranked alongside other tools, but we believe there are several remote control programs that do a better job.

Remote access programs:

TeamViewer

TeamViewer is the best free remote access software I've ever used. There are a ton of features that are always great, but also very easy to install. No changes to router or firewall configurations are required.

With support for video, voice calls and text chat, TeamViewer also allows you to transfer files, supports Wake-on-LAN (WOL), can remotely monitor a user's iPhone or iPad screen, and even remotely restart a PC in safe mode and then connect again automatically.

Host side

The computer you want to connect to with TeamViewer may be Windows computer, Mac or Linux.

Full, installable version TeamViewer is an option here and is probably a safe bet if you're not sure what to do. A portable version called TeamViewer QuickSupport, is an excellent choice if the computer you want to remotely control will only need to be used once or if installing software on it is not possible. Third option - TeamViewer Host is the best choice if you will be connecting to this computer regularly.

Client side

TeamViewer has several options for connecting to the computer you want to control.

Installable and portable programs are available for Windows, Mac and Linux, as well as mobile applications for iOS, BlackBerry, Android and Windows Phone. Yes—that means you can use your phone or tablet to connect to your remote-controlled computers on the go.

TeamViewer also allows you to use a web browser to access your computer remotely.

A number of other features are also included, such as the ability to share one application window with someone else (instead of the entire desktop) and the ability to print deleted files to a local printer.

I suggest trying TeamViewer before any other program on this list.

The complete list of supported desktop operating systems for TeamViewer includes Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, Windows Server 2012/2008/2003, Windows Home Server, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS.

Ammyy Admin

Ammyy Admin is free, fast and in a simple way obtaining remote access and remote desktop solutions for both individuals and businesses. Unlike powerful remote desktop software, the tool comes as tiny app under 1 MB. In addition to connecting to another system remotely, you can also perform actions such as file transfer and chat. Windows supported, secure connection and easy software management make Ammyy Adminn one of the most preferred free clients remote desktop.

While it's free for non-commercial use, the Starter, Premium, and Corporate licensed tools are priced at $33.90, $66.90, and $99.90, respectively.

AnyDesk is a remote desktop program that can be portable or installed like a regular program.

Host side

Launch AnyDesk on the PC you want to connect to and record AnyDesk-Address, or a custom alias if configured.

When the client connects, the host will be asked to allow or deny the connection, as well as manage permissions, such as allowing audio, clipboard, and the ability to block host keyboard/mouse control.

Client side

On another computer, launch AnyDesk, and then enter the AnyDesk host address or alias in the " Remote desk " on the screen.

If automatic access is configured, the client does not need to wait for the host to accept the connection.

AnyDesk automatically updates and can enter full screen mode, balance connection quality and speed, transfer files and audio, sync the clipboard, record a remote session, run keyboard shortcuts, take screenshots of the remote computer, and restart the host computer.

AnyDesk works with Windows (10 to XP), MacOS and Linux.

AeroAdmin is perhaps the most simple program for free remote access. There are virtually no settings, and everything is fast and precise, which is ideal for spontaneous support.

Host side

AeroAdmin is very similar to TeamViewer program, which tops this list. Just open the portable program and share your IP address or ID data with someone else. This is how the client computer will know how to connect to the host.

Client side

The client PC simply needs to run the same AeroAdmin program and enter the ID or IP address into their program. Before connecting, you can select " View only" or " Remote control" and then simply select " To plug" to request the remote control.

When the host computer confirms the connection, you can start controlling the computer, sharing clipboard text, and transferring files.

It's great that AeroAdmin is completely free for both personal and commercial use, but it's too bad that it doesn't include a chat option.

Another note to make is that although AeroAdmin is 100% free, it limits the number of hours you can use per month.

AeroAdmin can be installed on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 10, 8, 7 and XP.

RemotePC

Pros: Simple, straightforward interface with a flat learning curve. Fast performance. Easily transfer files between local and remote desktops. Inexpensive.

Minuses: Cannot display more than one remote monitor in the same window.

RemotePC is one of best apps with remote access, offering identical functions on computers and Mac computers, high performance and a minimal but intuitive interface.

Remote utilities are free program remote access with some really great features. It works by linking two remote computers together with what they call an "Internet ID". You can control a total of 10 PCs using Remote Utilities.

Host side

Install part of the remote utilities called " Host on a Windows PC" to have constant access to it. You also have the option to run Agent, which provides native support without installing anything—it can even be run from a flash drive.

The host computer is given an Internet ID which they must use in order for the client to establish a connection.

Client side

Program Viewer used to connect to host or agent software.

The viewer can be loaded on its own or in a combo file Viewer + Host. You can also download portable Viewer version, if you don't want to install anything.

Connecting the viewer to the host or agent is done without any changes to the router, such as port forwarding, making setup simpler. The customer simply needs to enter an online identification number and password.

There are also client apps that can be downloaded for free for iOS and Android users.

With the viewer, you can use various modules so that you can access your computer remotely without even viewing the screen, although screen viewing is definitely the main feature of Remote Utilities.

Some of the Remote Utilities modules are: Remote Task Manager, File Transfer, Power Management for Remote Reboot or WOL, Remote Terminal (Command Line Access), Remote File Launch, System Information Manager, Text Chat, Remote Registry Access, and Remote View webcams.

In addition to these features, Remote Utilities also supports remote printing and multi-monitor viewing.

Unfortunately, configuring Remote Utilities can be confusing on the host computer, as there are many different options.

Remote utilities can be installed on Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP, as well as on Windows Server 2012, 2008 and 2003.

Another remote access program is UltraVNC. UltraVNC works a bit like Remote Utilities, where server And viewer installed on two PCs and the viewer is used to manage the server.

Host side

When you install UltraVNC you are asked if you want to install Server , Viewer or both. Install the server on the PC you want to connect to.

You can install UltraVNC Server as a system service so that it always works. This perfect option, so you can always connect to it using client software.

Client side

To establish a connection to the UltraVNC server, you must install the Viewer part during setup.

Once you set up port forwarding on your router, you can access the UltraVNC server from anywhere using an Internet connection - either through a mobile device that supports VNC connections or a PC with installed by the program viewer or internet browser. All you need is the server's IP address to establish the connection.

UltraVNC supports file transfer, text chat, clipboard sharing, and can even boot and connect to a server in safe mode.

The download page is a bit confusing - first select the latest version of UltraVNC and then choose 32-bit or 64-bit installation file which will work with your version of Windows.

Users of Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP and Windows Server 2012, 2008 and 2003 can install and use UltraVNC.

Windows Remote Desktop

Windows Remote Desktop is remote access software built into the Windows operating system. No additional download is required to use the program.

Host side

To enable connecting to your computer using Windows Remote Desktop, you must open Settings system properties(accessible through the control panel) and allow remote connections through a specific Windows user through the " Remote ».

You really must configure the router to forward ports so another computer can connect to it from the network side, but this is usually not a big hassle to complete.

Client side

Another computer that wants to connect to the host computer must simply open the already installed software to connect to remote desktop and enter the host's IP address.

Advice. You can open Remote Desktop from the Launch dialog box (open it using the shortcut Windows Key + R); just enter Mstsc command to run it.

Most of the other programs on this list have features that Windows Remote Desktop doesn't, but this remote access method seems to be the most natural and easiest way to control the mouse and keyboard of a remote Windows PC.

Once everything is set up, you can transfer files, print to a local printer, listen to audio from a remote PC, and transfer clipboard contents.

Remote Desktop Availability

Windows Remote Desktop can be used on Windows from XP to Windows 10.

However, while all versions of Windows can connect to other computers with inbound connections enabled, not all versions of Windows can act as a host (i.e., accept incoming remote access requests).

If you are using version Home Premium or below, your computer can only act as a client and therefore cannot be deleted remotely (but it can access other computers remotely).

Incoming remote access is only allowed for professional, corporate And final Windows versions. In these editions, others can be deleted into the computer as described above.

Something else to remember is that Remote Desktop will log out the user if they are logged in when someone connects to that user's account remotely. This is very different from any other program on this list - everyone else can remotely connect to a user's account while the user is still actively using the computer.

Chrome Remote Desktop is a browser extension Google Chrome, which allows you to configure your computer for remote access from any other computer running Google Chrome.

Host side

The way this works is that you install the extension in Google Chrome and then provide authorization to remotely access that PC using a personal PIN that you create yourself.

To do this you need to log in to your account. Google entry, for example, information about your Gmail account or YouTube.

Client side

To connect to the host browser, log into Chrome Remote Desktop using another web browser (it must be Chrome) using the same credentials Google data or using a temporary access code generated by the host computer.

Since you are logged in, you can easily see the other PC name from where you can simply select it and start the remote session.

Chrome Remote Desktop (copy and paste only) doesn't have the similar file sharing or chat features you see in similar programs, but they are very easy to set up and allow you to connect to your computer (or anyone else) from anywhere using just your web browser.

Moreover, you can work remotely on the computer when the user is not opening Chrome, or even when they are completely logged out of the user account.

Because Chrome Remote Desktop works entirely in Google browser Chrome, it can work with any operating system that uses Chrome, including Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebooks.

seecreen.com

Seecreen (formerly called Firnass) is an extremely tiny (500KB) but powerful free remote access program that is ideal for instant, on-demand support.

Host side

Open the program on the computer you want to monitor. After creating an account and logging in, you can add other users to the menu by their address Email or username.

Adding a client to the Without Participation section allows them to have automatic access to the computer.

Client side

To connect to the host computer using Seecreen, another user needs to enter the host ID and password.

Screen sharing must be initiated from the client computer.

Seecreen does not support clipboard synchronization.

Seecreen is a JAR file that uses Java to run. All versions of Windows are supported, as well OS Mac and Linux

LiteManager is another remote access program, and it is strikingly similar to the one we talk about above.

However, unlike Remote Utilities, which can only control 10 PCs, LiteManager supports up to 30 slots for storage and connection to remote computers, and has many useful features.

Host side

The computer you want to access must install the program LiteManager ProServer.msi(it's free) which is included in the downloaded ZIP file.

There are many ways to provide connectivity to a host computer. This can be done using an IP address, computer name, or ID.

The easiest way to set this up is to right-click the server program in the taskbar notification area, select " , erase content that already exists, and click " Connected" to create a new ID.

Client side

Another program called Viewer is installed to connect the client to the host. After the host computer has issued the ID, the client must enter it from the " Connect by ID" on the menu " Compound", to establish a remote connection with another computer.

Once connected, the client can perform all sorts of actions, for example, using Remote Utilities, for example, working with multiple monitors, transferring files to background, gain full control or read-only access on another PC, launch a remote task manager, run files and programs remotely, record audio, edit the registry, create demos, lock another person's screen and keyboard, and text chat.

There is also a QuickSupport option, which is a portable program for servers and viewers that makes the connection much faster than the above method.

I tested LiteManager on Windows 10, but it should also work fine on Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP. This program is also available for macOS.

Comodo Unite is another free remote access program that creates a secure VPN connection between multiple computers. Once the VPN is established, you can remotely access applications and files through the client software.

Host side

Install Comodo Unite on the computer you want to control, and then create an account with Comodo Unite. Account is how you keep track of the PCs you add to your account, so it's easy to connect.

Client side

To connect to the Comodo Unite host computer, simply install the same software and then log in with the same username and password. You can then simply select the computer you want to monitor and start your VPN session immediately.

Files can only be shared when you start a chat, so it's not as easy to share files with Comodo Unite as it is with other remote desktop programs on this list. However, the chat is protected in VPN, which you cannot find in similar software.

Only Windows 7, Vista and XP (32-bit and 64-bit) are officially supported, but I was able to get Comodo Unite to function the same as it does on Windows 10 and Windows 8.

Note. Comodo Unite has been replaced by Comodo ONE, but it is still available for download and is more suitable for most people.

ShowMyPC is a portable and free remote access program that is almost identical to UltraVNC (number 3 on this list) but uses a password to connect instead of an IP address.

Host side

Launch ShowMyPC on any computer and then select " Show my computer" to obtain a unique identification number called common password .

Client side

Open the same ShowMyPC program on another computer and enter the ID from the main program to establish a connection. Instead, the customer can enter the number on the ShowMyPC website (in the "View PC" field) and launch the Java version of the program in their browser.

There is additional options that are not available in UltraVNC, such as using a webcam through a web browser and scheduled meetings, which allow someone to connect to your PC via a personal web link that runs the Java version of ShowMyPC.

ShowMyPC clients can only send a limited number of keyboard shortcuts to the host computer.

Select ShowMyPC Free on the download page to get free version. It works on all versions of Windows.

join.me is a remote access program from the manufacturers of LogMeIn that provides fast access to another computer via an Internet browser.

Host side

The person who needs remote assistance, can download and run join.me software, which allows you to display your entire computer or just a selected application to a remote viewer. This is done by choosing launch buttons.

Client side

The remote viewer simply needs to enter the personal join.me code into their own installation under connections .

join.me supports full screen, conference calling, text chat, multiple monitors, and allows you to view up to 10 participants simultaneously.

The client can visit instead home page join.me to enter the code for the host computer without having to download any software. The code must be entered in the MEETING CONNECTION field.

All versions of Windows can install join.me, as well as Mac.

DesktopNow is a free remote access program from NCH Software. After optional forwarding correct number port in your router and registering for a free account, you can access your computer from anywhere via a web browser.

Host side

To access your computer remotely, you must install DesktopNow software.

When the program is launched for the first time, you must enter your email address and password so that you can use the same credentials on the client side to establish the connection.

The host computer can either configure its router to forward the proper port number to itself, or choose cloud access during installation to make a direct connection to the client, bypassing the need for complex forwarding.

It's probably best for most people to use the direct cloud access method to avoid port forwarding issues.

Client side

The client simply needs to access the host through a web browser. If the router has been configured to forward the port number, the client will use the host PC's IP address to connect. If cloud access was selected, a specific link would be provided to the host you would use to connect.

DesktopNow has good function File Sharing, which allows you to upload your shared files remotely into an easy-to-use file browser.

Does not exist special application to connect to DesktopNow from a mobile device, so trying to view and control your computer from your phone or tablet may be difficult. However, the site is optimized for mobile phones, so viewing your shared files very simple.

Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP are supported, even 64-bit versions.

Another free and portable remote access program is BeamYourScreen. This program works like some of the others on this list, where the presenter is given an ID number that they must provide to the other user so they can connect to the presenter's screen.

Host side

BeamYourScreen hosts are called hosts, so the program BeamYourScreen for organizers (Portable) is the preferred method that the host computer should use to accept remote connections. It's quick and easy to start screen sharing without having to install anything.

There is also a version that can be installed called BeamYourScreen for organizers (installation) .

Client side

Customers can also install a portable or installable version of BeamYourScreen, but there are special program BeamYourScreen for participants, which is a small executable file, which can be launched similarly to the portable one for organizers.

Enter the host session number in the section session ID programs to join the session.

Once connected, you can control the screen, share text and clipboard files, and chat with text.

BeamYourScreen works with all versions of Windows, as well as Windows Server 2008 and 2003, Mac and Linux.

GoToMyPC

Pros: Simple interface. Works mainly from the browser. Drag and drop file transfer. Desktop icons for remote computers. Smooth support for multiple monitors. Possibility of direct connection to the network or via the Internet.

Minuses: Distracting message from the test server while the computer is booting. Slightly reduced functionality when using a Mac system.

Bottom Line: GoToMyPC is a mature, easy-to-use remote access program with the best available balance between features and ease of use. If you don't need support for Linux or enterprise-level systems, this is the app you want.

VNC Connect

Pros: support several platforms. Relatively simple interface. Fairly inexpensive subscription plans, including a free plan for personal use.

Minuses: separate server and viewer applications make setup confusing. No dragging and dropping of files between the viewing application and the desktop. Do not send one-time invitations from a remote computer.

VNC Connect is rugged, secure and easy to use once you get the hang of it. It has fewer features than other enterprise-level remote access software, but it is also much cheaper.

Microsoft Remote Desktop

Microsoft introduced remote desktop apps for Android and iOS a few years ago, but this is ideal for accessing computers running Windows control. It's also free with no usage restrictions, and unlike Chrome Remote Desktop, the setup process is a bit more complicated, but only the first time you go through it.

Where is LogMeIn?

Unfortunately, free product LogMeIn, LogMeIn Free, is no longer available. This was one of the most popular free services remote access available, so it's too bad it's gone.

LogMeIn also runs join.me, which still works and is listed above.

PC remote control programs are well known to any system administrator or service worker technical support, since in their daily activities they are constantly faced with the task of administering servers and PCs of local network users. The most common utility for remote PC control is, of course, Remote Desktop Connection, included with the Windows operating system. This fact is explained not so much by her functionality as much as what she is integral part OS, and therefore you do not need to purchase it separately. As for the functionality of this utility, in practice it is usually not enough, so specialized software packages from third-party manufacturers are often used. In this article we will look at specialized software packages designed for remote control of computers.

If we try to classify remote control programs, then they can be divided into two types: utilities that provide access to the desktop of a remote PC, and utilities that provide access to the command line of a remote PC. The first of them provide users with the ability to work with a remote PC in the same way as with a local one. Utilities of the second type allow you to automate the operation of the network by launching the same or different applications on several selected computers on the network, and also, for example, create a schedule for launching programs on remote PCs. It is completely pointless to try to compare these two types of utilities, since they are used in different situations and for different purposes.

Note that most remote control programs operate on the “client-server” principle, that is, they imply the presence of server and client parts of the program, which are respectively installed on the managed computer and on the PC from which control is performed. To gain control over a remote PC, it is necessary that the corresponding program module (server part) be running on it. Some remote management utilities allow you to remotely install the server part (if you have the appropriate administrative rights), and sometimes this procedure is completely transparent to local user PC (as a rule, in this case the server part is installed as a service on a remote PC). But some utilities require manual installation of the server part of the program.

In this article we will present to your attention remote control programs designed for use with Windows platforms. It should be noted that in the process of preparing the publication, we looked at several dozen utilities for remote PC control (fortunately, finding them on the Internet is not difficult). However, as it turned out, not all utilities are functional and generally deserve mention. Therefore, we will focus only on those of them that are truly functional and have been tested by us on a real local network.

Anyplace Control 3.3 (www.anyplace-control.com)

Anyplace Control 3.3 package belongs to the category client-server applications.

The Host module is installed on the managed PC, and the Admin module of the program is installed on the PC from which control is performed. Of course, it is possible to install both modules simultaneously on any PC on the local network. But the most interesting thing is that the Anyplace Control 3.3 program provides the ability to remotely install the Host module on any computer on the local network. And all that is needed for this is to select a computer on the local network and start the procedure for remote installation of the Host module. Naturally, for this you need to have administrator rights.

Note that Anyplace Control 3.3 supports a Russian-language interface.

Anyplace Control 3.3 allows you to work in two modes: viewing and control. In the first mode, it is possible to display the desktop of a remote PC on the screen and observe the user’s actions, and in the control mode, it is possible to completely seize control of the remote PC. An interesting feature of the remote control mode is that the work of the user of the remote PC is not blocked. However, in both modes, the user of the remote PC receives a notification in the form of an icon in the system tray that his computer is “under the hood”.

To connect to a remote PC, you must first select it from the list. The built-in scanner allows you to display all computers on the local network (domain or working group), and you can configure the filter to display only PCs that already have the client part of the program installed, that is, those to which you can connect.

After selecting the computers to which you want to connect, they are added to the list and become available for remote control (Fig. 1).

Rice. 1. Anyplace main window
Control 3.3 with a displayed list of computers,

The undoubted advantage of this utility is that it allows you to remotely control several PCs simultaneously. In this case, it is possible to simultaneously execute commands such as shutdown, reboot and end of the user session on managed PCs.

To prevent unauthorized access to your PC during the installation of Anyplace Control 3.3, you can set an access password to the managed computer. Other interesting features of the program include setting up traffic encryption when remotely managing a PC and using a shared clipboard between the managed computer and the PC from which control is performed. True, it will not be possible to transfer pictures through this buffer, but text fragments are transferred without problems.

In conclusion, we note that the demo version of Anyplace Control 3.3 is valid for 30 days after installation. Price full version program depends on the number of PCs on which it is installed, at the rate of $17.5 per PC.

Access Remote PC 4.12.2 (www.access-remote-pc.com)

The Access Remote PC 4.12.2 utility also belongs to the category of client-server applications and allows you to intercept the desktop and gain full access to any PC where the server part of this program is installed from any other computer (Fig. 2). Note that the server part of the program is installed on the managed PC, and the client part is installed on the computer from which control is performed. When installing the server part of the program on computers that are subject to remote control, the user name for which remote control is authorized and the access password are specified.

Rice. 2. Transfer files between computers
in the Access Remote PC 4.12.2 utility

The Access Remote PC 4.12.2 program provides the ability to control computers both over a local network and over the Internet, and even through modem connections. When controlling a computer remotely, the work of the local user is not blocked, and the local user can find out that the computer is controlled from outside, as well as who exactly controls the computer, by the icon in the system tray. In addition, the server part of the program allows, if necessary, to disconnect all remote users from the PC, change passwords, and view statistics for each remote control session.

Access Remote PC 4.12.2 provides two operating modes: full control mode of the remote PC and monitoring mode.

The disadvantages of this utility include the impossibility of remote simultaneous control of several PCs using a single interface. However, you can simultaneously launch several connection sessions (each of them in its own window), and then you can control several remote computers. Another drawback of the program is the impossibility of remote installation of its server part.

The advantages of Access Remote PC include the fact that it can work with firewalls, supports dynamic IP addresses and, importantly, practically does not slow down even in slow conditions. network connections, including modems. Besides this utility allows you to easily transfer files between computers, for which a special Transfer Files mode is provided (Fig. 2), and also supports working with the clipboard, that is, it allows you to synchronize clipboards on the local and remote PC, which simplifies the transfer of text fragments between PCs. Another advantage of the program is support for encryption when transmitting data using the RC4 algorithm with a 160-bit key.

The free version of the program is fully functional, but the number of times it can be launched is limited - only 30 times.

LanHelper 1.61 (www.hainsoft.com)

LanHelper 1.61 (Fig. 3) is a small utility that allows you to automate the process of managing a local network.

Rice. 3. Main window of the LanHelper 1.61 utility

With its help, you can remotely shut down or reboot several computers on the network at the same time. You can run applications on remote PCs (if they support launching from the command line), and it also supports simultaneous launch of identical applications on a group of managed PCs.

The LanHelper utility has a built-in set of commands that can be executed on remote PCs (Fig. 4). In this case, it is possible to specify the time when the application starts and the time interval according to which applications are launched on the PC (minimum interval 1 minute). You can also schedule applications to run on remote PCs. The most important advantage of the program is that to implement all its capabilities, you do not need to install the client part on remote PCs.

Rice. 4. Remote command execution
simultaneously on several computers
using the LanHelper 1.61 utility

In addition to remote command execution, the LanHelper 1.61 utility allows you to view, start and stop various services on remote PCs (Fig. 5), as well as send messages to users (to implement this feature, you must activate the Messenger service on all PCs).

Rice. 5. Working with services on a remote PC
using LanHelper 1.61 utility

To implement the ability to launch applications and execute commands on remote PCs, you must have administrator rights.

The demo version of LanHelper LanHelper 1.61 has a limited validity period of 30 days, the license price is $49.95.

DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 (www.dameware.com)

DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 is a powerful system remote administration local network. It is based on a set of utilities Microsoft Windows NT administration utilities, united by a very convenient single interface. Most of the utilities included in the package from the Microsoft Windows NT administration utilities set have advanced capabilities, and in addition, it contains a number of unique utilities. In particular, the package includes the DameWare Mini Remote Control utility, which allows you to fully control the desktop of a remote PC, as well as a utility for implementing command line mode on a remote PC.

When you launch the DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 package, the entire network is automatically scanned and all available domains and workgroups, as well as computers in the selected domain/workgroup are displayed in the main program window (Fig. 6).

Rice. 6. Main window of DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2

Let us briefly list the capabilities of the DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 package: with its help you can view information about hard drives on remote PCs, view the contents of the Event Log, view information about connected printers, running processes and services, installed applications, gather detailed information about PC configuration, receive service information about PCs activated by users and much more. There are also additional features: You can quickly edit the registry on a remote PC, send messages to users via the Messenger service, remotely shut down or restart computers and, as already mentioned, gain full control of the remote PC through the command line or desktop.

The undoubted advantage of this software package is that to implement remote control, you do not need to manually install the client part of the program on a remote PC. When you try to control a remote PC via the desktop or command line, DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 automatically prompts you to install and start the required service on the remote PC. In this case, the user of this remote PC will learn about the interception of control in a pop-up window, which displays information about which PC is being used for remote control.

The advantages of DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 include the ability to simultaneously connect to several computers to manage them, as well as the fact that remote control does not block the work of the local user.

Overall, this software package provides a powerful and user-friendly network management tool.

The demo version of the program is fully functional, but has a limited validity period of 30 days. The price of one license is $289. In addition, you can separately purchase the DameWare Mini Remote Control package for remote control of computers via the desktop, one license will cost $89.95.

Omniquad Instant Remote Control 2.2.9 (www.omniquad.com)

The current version of the Omniquad Instant Remote Control utility - 2.2.9 - is far from new, but it still remains one of the best in its class.

The Omniquad Instant Remote Control 2.2.9 utility allows you to gain full control over a remote PC through your desktop. Distinctive feature This utility is that it does not require installation of the client part on the managed PC. When gaining access to a remote PC, the corresponding service is initially launched in stealth mode, and the user of the PC controlled using this program does not receive any notification and has no way of knowing that control of his computer has been intercepted. This allows you to use this utility for covert monitoring of user actions. Note that not all remote control utilities have the ability to control a PC without prior notification to the user.

When the program starts, the network is automatically scanned, and the computers in the network environment are displayed in the main program window (Fig. 7). After selecting any computer, pressing the Remote Control button intercepts control of the remote PC. The work of the local user is not blocked. In addition, it is possible to run this utility in monitoring mode of the desktop of a remote PC.

Rice. 7. Main window of the Omniquad Instant Remote Control 2.2.9 utility

Please note that for remote control you must have appropriate rights to access the PC. If you are using a firewall on a remote PC, you must open port 6003, which is used by this utility by default. In addition, you can assign any other port to Omniquad Instant Remote Control (but open ports can be scanned).

The disadvantage of the program is that it does not support simultaneous connections with several remote computers.

The demo version of the utility has a limited validity period - 30 days, the license price is $39.

EMCO Remote Desktop Professional 4.0 (www.emco.is)

In terms of the range of functionality, this product (Fig. 8) is to some extent similar to the DameWare NT Utilities 5.5.0.2 package. The EMCO Remote Desktop Professional software package is a set of functional tools for implementing remote management of a local network and monitoring its status.

Rice. 8. Main window of the EMCO Remote Desktop Professional utility

When you start the program, you can activate the network scanner, which allows you to collect detailed information about all computers on the local network, about applications installed on them, about running processes, about versions of the existing operating system, about installed equipment, etc. In addition to automatically collecting information about network computers (this process takes quite a long time), PCs can also be added to the list manually.

The package allows you to remotely start and stop services, restart and shut down computers. Most interesting feature this program is the ability to gain complete control over remote computer- to do this, just select the desired computer in the list and go to the Viewer tab. If you are managing a computer for the first time, you must install the NetServer service on the remote PC. This procedure is carried out remotely and is completely invisible to the local user. Once the NetServer service is running on a remote PC, you can connect to it, gain full management control, and then work with the remote PC in the same way as with the local one. When controlling a computer remotely, the work of the local user is not blocked; However, if you use the mouse at the same time, it’s unlikely that anything will work.

Since the local user does not receive any notification that the computer is being controlled externally, EMCO Remote Desktop Professional software can be effectively used to secretly monitor user activity.

Another important advantage of the program is that it allows you to remotely control several PCs at the same time. In this case, a special window is allocated for each connection session with a remote PC.

Among the disadvantages of this program, we note the difficulty of setting it up when using Windows XP SP2 on a managed PC. Moreover, as practice shows, the need for configuration depends on what patches are installed. Of course, the program comes with step-by-step instruction those changes that will have to be made in this case (more precisely, the program downloads the appropriate instructions from the site), however, all this is quite inconvenient and impractical.

The demo version of the program is valid for 30 days and supports only 25 computers on the local network. The price of the package depends on the number of computers on the network: 50 computers (minimum quantity) - $135; 1000 computers - $1295

Radmin 3.0 Remote Control (www.radmin.com)

Of all the products we reviewed, the Radmin 3.0 Remote Control utility from Famatech is the most “fresh” - its a new version came out in early 2007.

This utility is designed to monitor and gain full control over a remote PC as part of a local network.

Radmin 3.0 Remote Control is equipped with only the most necessary tools for managing a remote PC and is very easy to configure (Fig. 9). Thanks to this, it is easy to master. The utility operates on the principle of a client-server application and includes two parts: the first (server) part is installed on the managed PC, and the second - on the PC from which control is performed.

Rice. 9. Main window of the Radmin 3.0 Remote Control utility

The disadvantages of the program include the lack of built-in tools for remote installation of the server part (Radmin Server) on a managed PC, so if you need to gain control over any PC on the network, you will first have to locally install the corresponding module on it.

In our opinion, a serious drawback of this utility is the lack of a built-in network scanner, which does not allow you to obtain a list of PCs that you can connect to.

Well, the last drawback that was discovered during testing of this program is that for the utility to work correctly, you need to configure or simply disable the Firewall on the managed PC if it is using Windows XP SP2.

The utility operates in several modes: file transfer, full control, view only, Telnet, shutdown and command line mode. Has a built-in file manager, with which files are transferred from one PC to another. The program keeps statistics of the traffic used and can encrypt data.

Using Radmin 3.0 Remote Control, you can manage either one remote computer or several at once, each with its own password. To ensure an increased level of security, you can take additional precautions: enable password protection and create a list of prohibited IP addresses.

The latest version of the program has many interesting innovations:

  • OS support Windows Vista;
  • text and voice chat with the ability to hold conferences and exchange personal messages and password protection;
  • an increased level of security that provides protection against attacks and protection of active data on the network;
  • different access rights for each user;
  • IP filters to restrict access to specific IP addresses and subnets.

In general, it should be noted that this utility is inferior in functionality to similar remote control utilities. The lack of a built-in network scanner and the need for local installation of the Radmin Server module - all this significantly limits its functionality.

In conclusion, we note that the cost of the Radmin 3.0 Remote Control license is $49 per PC.

Atelier Web Remote Commander 5.59 (www.atelierweb.com)

Atelier Web Remote Commander 5.59 (Fig. 10) is a small utility that, according to the plan, should provide full control of the remote PC. It consists of two parts and works on the client/server principle. In addition, it is possible to remotely collect information about the hardware configuration of a PC, etc. However, it hardly makes sense to list all the capabilities of the utility in this case, since it is so crude that it is unlikely to be used.

Rice. 10. Utility information window
Atelier Web Remote Commander 5.59

One of the obvious shortcomings is the lack of a certificate. In addition, the program does not have a built-in network scanner, which means you have to explicitly enter the name or IP address of the computer you want to connect to, which is extremely inconvenient. But the main drawback is that in order to connect to a remote PC, you first need to install the appropriate program module on it (there are no built-in tools for remote installation) and somehow configure it.

Unfortunately, no matter how we configured the program, we were unable to make a remote connection (the connection was made via a local network between two computers running Windows system XP SP2). Although the program is paid (the demo version has a limited validity period), it is absolutely useless and inoperable. Our verdict is to “stove” such programs.

Remote Desktop Control 1.7 (www.remote-desktop-control.com)

The Remote Desktop Control 1.7 program belongs to the category of client-server applications, that is, the Host module of the program is installed on the managed PC, and the Admin module is installed on the PC from which control is performed.

In its interface (Fig. 11) and functionality, the Remote Desktop Control 1.7 package is very similar to Anyplace Control 3.3, but it also has some important differences (and in the worst side), for example, it lacks the ability to implement remote installation Host module to any computer on the local network. In addition, for the Remote Desktop Control 1.7 package to work, you need to configure the Firewall on the managed computer (add the program to the allowed list), while the Anyplace Control 3.3 program does this automatically.

Rice. 11. Main program window
Remote Desktop Control 1.7 with a displayed list of computers,
which you can connect to remotely

In terms of its functionality, Remote Desktop Control 1.7 is similar to the Anyplace Control 3.3 program: it allows you to work in two modes: viewing and control; in viewing mode, you can display the desktop of a remote PC on the screen and observe user actions, and in control mode, you can completely seize control of the remote PC.

Utilities allow you to remotely control several PCs simultaneously. This allows for the simultaneous execution of commands such as shutdown, reboot and end of the user session on managed PCs.

In conclusion, we note that the demo version of Remote Desktop Control 1.7 is valid for 30 days after installation. The price of the full version of the program depends on the number of PCs on which it is installed - $15 per PC.

TightVNC for Windows 1.3.8 (www.tightvnc.com)

TightVNC for Windows 1.3.8 is an absolutely free utility for remote computer control, which works on the client-server principle and has two modules: TightVNC Viewer and TightVNC Server. The TightVNC Server module is installed on the managed PC, and TightVNC Viewer is installed on the PC from which control is performed. There are no tools for remote installation of the TightVNC Server module. In addition, before starting work, you must configure the TightVNC Server module by specifying a connection password. To connect to a remote PC, just specify its DNS name or IP address and select the connection type (Fig. 12).

Rice. 12. Connect to a remote PC using the utility
TightVNC for Windows 1.3.8

The only function of TightVNC for Windows 1.3.8 is to gain full access to the desktop of a remote computer and control it using a mouse and keyboard. Considering that the utility is absolutely free, it can be recommended to home users.

UltraVNC 1.0.2 (www.uvnc.com)

The UltraVNC 1.0.2 utility is another absolutely free, but nevertheless very effective utility for remote PC control, working according to the client-server scheme. The UltraVNC Server module is installed on the managed computer, and the UltraVNC Viewer module is installed on the computer from which control is carried out. The program does not provide tools for remote installation of the UltraVNC Server module, so you must install the modules locally.

The UltraVNC Server module has a lot of settings (Fig. 13) and allows you to set a password for the connection, select the ports to use, etc.

Rice. 13. Configuring the UltraVNC Server module

When accessing the desktop of a remote PC in full control mode, the work of the local user is not blocked. In addition, the UltraVNC 1.0.2 utility offers a number of additional features. For example, there is a built-in chat with which you can exchange messages with a remote PC. The ability to transfer files is also provided. On top of that, the UltraVNC 1.0.2 utility provides encryption of transmitted data, for which keys are exchanged between computers.

In general, it can be noted that the UltraVNC 1.0.2 utility is a highly effective tool for remote PC management and can be recommended for both home users and corporate use (especially considering that the utility is free).

RealVNC (www.realvnc.com)

There are three versions of the RealVNC program: Free Edition, Personal Edition and Enterprise Edition, which differ from each other in functionality and cost.

RealVNC Free Edition has minimal functionality and is absolutely free. Actually, in this case we are only talking about the possibility of gaining access to the desktop of a remote PC.

RealVNC Personal Edition offers a number of additional features. First of all, this is traffic encryption using the AES algorithm with a key length of 128 bits (Fig. 14), and automatic generation of an encryption key is supported. In addition, it is possible to use user authentication, as well as transfer files between computers and much more.

A distinctive feature of the RealVNC Enterprise Edition is its multi-platform nature. That is this program, having all the functionality of RealVNC Personal Edition, can be used for remote control of computers running Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and MAC OS, as well as Windows 95/98/Me/NT 4/2000/XP/2003/ Vista.

The cost of the RealVNC program depends on the number of licenses (number of managed computers) and on the delivery option. Thus, the Personal Edition costs $30 per license, and the Enterprise Edition costs $50 per license.

Hidden Administrator 1.5 (www.hiddenadm.nm.ru)

The Hidden Administrator 1.5 program (Fig. 15) is another free program for remote computer management, and, as the name suggests, it allows you to covertly monitor computers.

Rice. 15. Main window of the Hidden Administrator 1.5 utility

The program works on the client-server principle. The server part is installed on a managed computer, and there are no tools for remote installation.

In addition to the function of gaining access in full control mode to the desktop of a remote computer, the Hidden Administrator 1.5 program offers a number of additional features: obtain information about the configuration of a remote PC, exchange files with a remote PC, send messages to a remote PC, turn off or restart a remote computer, work with the registry of a remote PC, receive and transmit the clipboard, run programs on a remote PC and much more (Fig. 16). Listing everything this program is capable of would take a lot of time. Note that the only thing it cannot do is encrypt traffic. Naturally, it is possible to set a password for connecting to a remote PC and even configure an IP filter on computers from which remote control is possible.
