1. Xiaomi Redmi 8 4/64GB

Our editors have been using Xiaomi smartphones since the time when Chinese company was not so famous throughout the world. But even today the Redmi line, which recently became a separate brand, continues to amaze us with its excellent combination of price and characteristics. In particular, this applies to the representative this review.

The Redmi 8 comes with a simple Silicone Case, which for some reason was equipped with a plug for the USB port. For the first time, this option is suitable for protecting your smartphone, but in the future it is better to buy something more solid.

By assembly and design inexpensive smartphone with a good battery from Xiaomi it is not inferior to the older models in the line. Buyers may not like the use of plastic instead of the metal they loved in their predecessors. But the manufacturer did not skimp on the screen and fingerprint scanner.

The device received 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. If the latter is not enough for you, you can add a flash drive up to 512 gigabytes. Moreover, thanks to the separate tray, there is no need to give up one of the SIM cards.

The Xiaomi phone received a 5000 mAh battery. Actually, this is the best battery capacity at a budget price, especially considering the low power consumption of the hardware platform. Speaking of which, for some reason Xiaomi decided to use Snapdragon 439 when Redmi 7 used 632. However, taking into account the HD resolution, it is quite enough for games.

Advantages:

  • nice appearance;
  • excellent build quality;
  • decent autonomy;
  • operation of wireless modules;
  • the average cost is 9,000 rubles.

Flaws:

  • not the latest SoC.

2.DOOGEE S55

The smartphone rating continues with powerful battery from DOOGEE. The S55 model is a purebred Chinese in both characteristics and design. The device is protected from water and dust, and can also withstand serious impacts. The display here is 5.5-inch, its resolution and aspect ratio are HD and 2:1, respectively.

The cameras of the device are similar to the usual average one from the Middle Kingdom. The same applies to the hardware platform, which is represented here by the MediaTek MT6750 processor and Mali-T860 graphics accelerator. As for the battery, it has a capacity of 5500 mAh, and through the MicroUSB port this battery is charged in 2 hours (PumpExpress+ 2.0).

Advantages:

  • good assembly;
  • excellent autonomy;
  • screen wipe;
  • fast fingerprint scanner;
  • IP68 certification.

Flaws:

  • mediocre cameras.

3. Blackview BV6800 Pro

Among secure smartphones, Blackview is also very popular. Its model BV6800 Pro can be called the main competitor of the S55. This device is not only equipped with a similar hardware platform, but is also offered at the same average price of 12 thousand rubles. The Blackview smartphone has the best battery in the category – 6850 mAh. This is enough for two days of continuous conversation on 3G networks or a month of device operation in standby mode.

Advantages:

  • battery of impressive capacity;
  • fast and wireless charging;
  • protection from water, dust and shock;
  • not a bad camera for its class;
  • 128 GB standard storage.

Flaws:

  • the power button is too sensitive;
  • mediocre performance of the fingerprint scanner.

4. Highscreen Max 3 4/64GB

The first thing you notice about Highscreen Max 3 is its excellent build. The device is practically in no way inferior to top models, and in terms of the design of the back cover, it can even become an example for them: durable plastic with hard corrugation. Thanks to this material, the device does not slip either in your hand, or on the table, or on most other surfaces. Those who like to carry smartphones without cases will definitely be pleased.

Unfortunately, Highscreen followed trends, so in the brand’s new smartphone, connect wired headphones only possible through an adapter.

The phone has a capacious battery and fast charging via USB port Type-C. The Max 3 also offers wireless battery charging. The autonomy of the smartphone is not inferior to its competitors - about 10-11 hours of continuous video playback and 5 hours of games. By the way, the device copes with the latter with a plus: Helio P35 forces you to lower the settings to a minimum in demanding modern projects.

Advantages:

  • NFC for contactless payment;
  • not a combination tray;
  • shell without unnecessary applications;
  • tenacious back cover;
  • good system optimization.

Flaws:

  • There is no 3.5 mm jack.

5. DOOGEE BL5500 Lite

The DOOGEE smartphone model with a large screen often receives positive feedback from customers regarding its powerful battery, convenient placement of the volume and screen lock buttons - all of them are located on one side next to each other. There is nothing superfluous on the back panel of the case, since the manufacturer has only provided a camera in the corner and a fingerprint scanner.
The 4-core device runs on the new Android OS, supports two SIM cards simultaneously and has a fairly large screen diagonal. There is also dual camera with autofocus and high resolution. And the battery capacity of this device is as much as 5500 mAh.

The average price of a smartphone is 7,200 rubles.

Pros:

  • best battery capacity at a budget price;
  • glass is scratch resistant;
  • high-quality camera;
  • favorable price.

Among the disadvantages, consumers highlight only the weak screen brightness in sunny weather.

It is only possible to view a smartphone screen normally in very bright light without a protective film.

The best smartphones with a powerful mid-range battery

Balanced in terms of price and functionality, the devices are an excellent solution for those who value quality and practicality. Most of the bells and whistles of premium smartphones are not always actually needed, so a number of buyers prefer well-developed basic functions. These, in fact, include autonomy. For a smartphone with an excellent screen and performance, battery life is very important, so a large battery capacity attracts the buyer's attention much more than other parameters. Fortunately, there are plenty of such devices on the market, and choosing the best one will not be difficult.

1.Samsung Galaxy A70

Size really matters! And we are talking not only about the battery capacity, but also about the diagonal of the screen. The Galaxy A70 display is really large – 6.7 inches. The manufacturer decided to increase the device not in width, but in length, so the aspect ratio here is 20:9. As for the battery, 4500 mAh cannot be called something impressive compared to competitors, but for a South Korean brand this is really a lot.

The design of the device is reminiscent of the A50, and the colors are of this smartphone also three - black, white and blue. The material of the back panel has not changed either, so it is better to immediately buy a cover for the so-called “fiberglass” to protect it from scratches. I was pleased with the presence of Always On Display in the smartphone. In addition, the screen in standby mode can be customized or turned off completely (this will save almost no battery).

Advantages:

  • built-in screen scanner;
  • module for contactless payments;
  • a combination of Snapdragon 675 and Adreno 612;
  • cool display with Always On function;
  • separate tray for memory card.

Flaws:

  • The back panel is not strong enough.

2. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro 6/128GB

Did you want NFC in Redmi Note? Get NFC in Redmi Note! True with a MediaTek processor and Mali graphics. Is this bad? Not at all, but the unpleasant experience of using similar devices makes users think that MediaTek is an evil that will heat up, consume a lot of energy, cope poorly with loads and rarely receive updates.

In practice, none of these problems are relevant. The device is fast, autonomous, and the latest version of the MIUI shell with the latest Android also arrived on it. There are also four main cameras: 64, 8, 2 and 2 MP, capable of taking great pictures in any conditions. Also, a smartphone with a good 4500 mAh battery does not lose an infrared port for control home appliances and 3.5 mm jack.

Advantages:

  • presence of an NFC module;
  • performance;
  • appearance and assembly;
  • main camera;
  • infrared port;
  • excellent display.

3. Honor 9X Premium 6/128GB

Can't stand any cutouts in the screen, but don't want to be content with large frames around the matrix either? Then you should buy a mobile phone front camera. Over the past year, several worthy devices have appeared in this category, and one of the most interesting among them is the fresh 9X Premium from the Honor brand.

In addition to the premium version, the manufacturer also offers the regular Honor 9X. The latter received two main cameras instead of three and 4 GB of RAM instead of 6. But it has NFC module, for some reason missing in the older modification.

The smartphone received Huawei’s proprietary processor – the 8-core Kirin 710, complemented by Mali-G51 graphics. All this is powered by a 4000 mAh battery. According to reviews, the phone can run on this battery for a full day with occasional games, watching videos, using maps and other standard activities.

Advantages:

  • pop-up front camera;
  • powerful “filling”;
  • copes well with demanding games and applications;
  • economical battery consumption;
  • excellent quality screen;
  • takes great photos.

Flaws:

  • not equipped with NFC.

4. Samsung Galaxy M30s 4/64GB

Galaxy M30s is the best Samsung smartphone in terms of price-quality ratio. If the battery capacity of 4500 mAh for the A70 was already quite immodest, then the battery installed here is as much as a third larger! At the same time, the thickness of the device increased by only 1 mm, and its width and length even decreased slightly.

The display here has the same resolution and aspect ratio as in the older model, but the diagonal of the M30s has been reduced to 6.4 inches. There are three rear cameras: a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP secondary (wide-angle) camera and a 5 MP depth sensor. In good light they are great, but in the evening the pictures look so-so.

The placement of the cameras also doesn't look very good. It seems that the designers didn’t bother too much, but just crammed everything into a pile. But, fortunately, this is the only, and somewhat subjective, minus of the M30s, given its price (about 17 thousand). It performs well in games, its battery life is excellent, and its screen is one of the best in its class.

Advantages:

  • separate slot for microSD;
  • Always On Display function;
  • good performance;
  • excellent main cameras;
  • impressive autonomy.

Flaws:

  • Not the best camera design.

5. Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite 6/128GB

Leading in the ranking best phones with the most powerful battery in the mid-priced Mi 9 Lite. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.39-inch AMOLED matrix manufactured by Samsung. Its resolution is 2340x1080 pixels, and the brightness margin is so good that the text remains readable in the brightest sun.

If you often place your phone face down, then useful function There will be a notification indicator built into the Xiaomi logo for you.

There is an optical fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the display. It works quickly, but if you don’t like this option, you can use face unlock. True, only the front camera is used for it. Mi 9 hardware platform Lite is great, there is fast charging, and as a bonus - IRDA and a 3.5 mm jack.

Advantages:

  • reasoned cost;
  • cool matrix from Samsung;
  • there is NFC, IRDA and an audio jack;
  • works and charges quickly;
  • nice design and shell.

Flaws:

  • mediocre sound.

6. ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 ZB602KL 4/64GB

One of the best representatives of the “price-quality” category from a popular manufacturer is decorated in stylish design. All the main details in the form of a camera, a fingerprint recognition sensor and other things are placed quite conveniently.

In the ranking of the best phones with the most powerful battery, this model takes first place due to its powerful, durable battery, and no less good parameters: dual main camera, large screen diagonal and its high resolution. And also a good amount of built-in memory. Additional interfaces are provided here: NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct.

You can buy the device at a price of about 13 thousand rubles.

Pros:

  • good performance;
  • Memory;
  • metal body;
  • loud and clear sound;
  • active use of the gadget for two days without recharging;
  • fast charge function.

Disadvantages of a smartphone:

  • weak selfie camera.

The best smartphones with a good premium battery

Flagships are the engine of the modern smartphone market. Top gadgets always open up something new not only for the buyer, but also for other manufacturers who try to keep up with trends and borrow the best ideas. Phenomenal speed of work, best characteristics, premium screen - all this requires a lot of energy. Unfortunately, not all flagships can boast of an excellent battery, but those that can hold a charge for a long time gain a solid advantage over their competitors.

1. HUAWEI Mate 20X 128GB

Display Samsung Galaxy Is the A70 not big enough for you? “Any whim for your money,” says the Wavey company, and offers one of the best smartphones in the list with big battery Mate 20X models. This is a huge smartphone with a screen diagonal of 7.2 inches. The device supports Huawei's proprietary M-Pen stylus, so you can make sketches or handwritten notes on the phone.
However, first of all, the manufacturer positions the Mate 20X as the best mobile device for gamers. Hidden inside the smartphone is a Kirin 980 processor, Mali-G76 graphics, 6 GB at once random access memory and a 5000 mAh battery. The storage capacity of the Huawei phone is 128 GB, and you can expand it only by giving up one of the SIM cards. The main camera of the smartphone includes three modules of 40, 20, 8 MP and was involved in its development popular company Leica.

Advantages:

  • cool large display;
  • gaming capabilities;
  • very fast charging;
  • stylus support;
  • performance;

Flaws:

  • non-standard format memory card;
  • bad front camera.

2. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 6/128GB

The first smartphone in the world with a 108 MP camera. And the Mi Note 10 has 5 main modules in total. But why does the phone need such permission? There are many reasons. For example, in this way you can achieve better detail, significantly reduce noise in the photo, or make great HDR with just one shot. But keep in mind that this only works in good lighting, because when there is not enough light, the resolution drops to 27 MP (four individual 0.8-micron pixels are “grouped” into one 1.6-micron pixel).

Unfortunately, the manufacturer offers Mi Note 10 only with 128 GB and without a memory card slot, which, considering the size of the photo on a 108-megapixel module, is extremely small. The only solution would be to buy Mi Note 10 Pro, which has more storage.

As for the other cameras, they provide 2x and 4x optical zoom, as well as optical stabilization. The camera block has a 20 MP wide-angle module and a 2 MP macro lens. This means that fans of mobile photography receive an impressive creative tool in its functionality. At the same time, in terms of other characteristics, Mi Note 10 also does not disappoint: the smartphone’s powerful 5260 mAh battery provides excellent autonomy, and the combination of Snapdragon 730G, 6 GB RAM and Adreno 618 copes well with demanding games.

Advantages:

  • camera capabilities;
  • cool assembly and design;
  • excellent display;
  • system performance;
  • performance;
  • in-screen fingerprint scanner;
  • excellent autonomy.

Flaws:

  • Display bends are not for everyone;
  • no support for microSD cards.

3. ASUS ZenFone 6 ZS630KL 6/128GB

Of course, it would be unacceptable to leave aside one of the best smartphones according to customer reviews - ZenFone 6. ASUS has really done a great job with this device, so it is different from everything that is available on the market today. The main innovation of ZenFon 6 is the camera. It is folding, so the main module of the device acts as a rear and front module (selfie lovers will appreciate it).

By the way, they are suitable not only for photos, but also for videos. The device can record video in 4K resolution and offers three-axis optical stabilization. Moreover, you can write videos not only on internal memory(128 GB), but also on a memory card up to 2 TB (separate from SIM).

Advantages:

  • Snapdragon 855 and Adreno 640;
  • optical image stabilization;
  • fast charging Quick Charge 4;
  • separate tray for SIM and microSD;
  • original flip camera;
  • excellent quality of photos and videos.

4. HUAWEI Mate 20 6/128GB

The very unusual luxurious design of this smartphone, judging by customer reviews, is really worthy of attention. There is a large screen where only the front camera extends beyond the frame. The back of the design is completely glossy, due to which it shimmers beautifully in the light, which is why most owners use transparent cases.

Gadget with Android version 9.0 and a 6.53-inch screen has a triple camera on the back. Pictures taken with it are as clear as possible due to the resolution of 12 megapixels, 16 megapixels and 8 megapixels. As for the battery capacity, it reaches 4000 mAh.

Advantages:

  • screen color rendering;
  • fast charging;
  • high quality photos and videos;
  • good smartphone performance;
  • loud speaker.

Flaws:

  • expensive branded memory cards NM Card;
  • few camera settings.

Criteria for choosing a smartphone with a good battery

  • Display. Today, content is actively consumed through smartphones, which requires an appropriate screen diagonal. But the phone should also fit comfortably in your hand, without causing discomfort during use. It’s better to give up extra inches in favor of ergonomics, so as not to regret a bad purchase in the future.
  • Iron. Internet surfing, chatting in instant messengers, watching videos and others simple tasks do not require impressive performance. But modern games will require more power. Also take into account energy efficiency, because a huge battery does not compensate for the large appetites of the SoC and poor optimization.
  • NFC module. Finally, manufacturers are beginning to realize that it would be nice to install it in devices for the right price. The truth is the most available models still remain without of this module. But if, at least in theory, you need NFC, then it’s better not to save money, but to immediately buy a suitable device.
  • Cameras. Do you like to photograph food, a cat, girlfriends, beautiful architecture, and fifty other things (and that’s just before lunch)? Or maybe you are a beginner blogger who doesn’t have money for top-end equipment? Then pay attention to your smartphone cameras. The better they are, the more ideas you can implement!
  • Memory. Thousands of photos and videos, many games and applications take up a lot of space on your smartphone. In this case, it is worth having at least 128 gigabytes of memory in reserve. It’s even better if your smartphone has a separate tray for two SIMs and a memory card, so you don’t have to sacrifice anything.
  • Charger. In the presence of large battery The phone will also benefit from support for current technology fast charging. But to use this function it is important to have an appropriate power supply. It is not always included in the kit, and if you need such a power supply, you will have to purchase it.

What to look for

Just to get started, it’s worth discussing one very important point. Without it, you won’t be able to make a rating or make a choice. What is it about? The point is that now we need to clearly understand how we will use the purchased gadget: for games, conversations, Internet surfing, and so on. Our choice generally depends on this.

The thing is that a mobile phone (almost any) can last a week, or even two, in standby mode. But when talking - about 10 hours on average. In addition, it is necessary to focus on the intensity of use of the gadget in principle. If you play a lot or surf the Internet, then only rare phone models will be able to hold a battery charge for a long time. After all, these two processes are quite energy-intensive.

Besides, an important component This will also include the charging time of your device, which holds a charge for a long time, as a rule, requires a short time to “replenish energy”. Usually two to three hours is enough. If you notice in the characteristics of the selected model or in practice that the battery takes a long time to charge, then you should doubt its service life without recharging.

Now that the main points have been discussed, you can look at the rating of phones recognized as the most “survivable”. They all vary in price, but you can always find something suitable for yourself. Let's try to settle our question with you once and for all.

Express Music

Let's start, perhaps, with the more well-known and widespread manufacturers. If you need a phone that holds a charge for a long time, then you should turn your attention to Nokia. For example, on quite 5800: Express Music.

This phone, to be honest, was created more for music lovers. Here good speakers, and music player. The memory is small, but you can insert a flash card up to 32 GB. In truth, although this old model, it still stands out for its quality.

This smartphone is also practically indestructible. Even if he falls from the 3rd floor, nothing will happen to him. A kind of long-liver. Just find this phone It's very difficult these days. Most often it is bought secondhand.

Fly ERA Energy 2

The next phone that holds a charge for a long time is Fly ERA Energy 2. To be honest, it is far from the most popular brand, but it offers customers affordable prices, meeting general requirements.

Here, the size of the display, as well as the power of the processor, are literally sacrificed to ensure long-term operation of the smartphone. Rather, it is more of a female model - it is very petite, thin and neat. Nevertheless, Fly ERA Energy 2 is an excellent solution for those who always want to stay connected.

This model is not particularly suitable for powerful games - they will slow down or not start at all. However, sometimes you can play small toys on it. In use mode, the phone will last about 5 days, with calls - 10 hours. But the wait is about 200 hours. In fact, it's very a good option developments of events.

Fly ERA Energy 2 is not that expensive. Prices for such phones usually vary from 3,500 rubles to 5,000. And that’s exactly how much the named model costs. Not that much, if you think about it. Only Fly is not very popular among clients. Let's try to understand what other options there are that are suitable for the task assigned to us today.

Apple iPhone 6 Plus

Naturally, we must not forget about Apple smartphones. The thing is that some of their models are really very powerful and capable. Especially when you take into account the fact that iPhones are used a lot for gaming.

So, for example, you can easily and simply buy yourself Apple iPhone 6 Plus. This is the most modern smartphone, suitable for long hours of work and play. He has powerful processor(2 cores at 1.44 GHz), as well as a 5.5-inch display. In talk mode, this smartphone works for a day, in a passive state - 300 hours. But the prices for such phones are not very encouraging.

After all, for Apple products you will have to pay about 36,000 rubles, or even more. For this amount, to be honest, you can buy yourself good laptop or desktop computer. Or just find more cheap smartphone. If anything, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus is a pretty high-end option.

Lenovo S860

If you don’t want to buy a very cheap or too expensive phone that takes a long time to charge, then you can definitely pay attention to the Lenovo S860 model. Its price is about 8,000 rubles, which corresponds to the quality.

In truth, its power does not differ much from that of our previous smartphone. And the price is determined by the company that produces this model. In talk mode it works for about 20 hours, but in standby mode - 800. To be honest, these are very significant numbers that make you think.

It is also worth considering that the Lenovo S860 is designed for two SIM cards. This is very convenient for modern users. You can use your work number and home number at the same time. And practically no energy will be spent on this.

In addition, the characteristic of the phone allows us to also play on it. Lenovo S860 is an excellent choice for a school student or any gamer. You can always stay connected and play it. But are there other options? Which ones exactly? Let's try to figure this out with you.

Philips Xenium W6610

The thing is that in standby mode Philips Xenium W6610 works for about 1200 hours. If you actively talk on your cell phone, you can count on approximately 40 hours of service without recharging. This also applies to those options when the user prefers to play or surf the Internet.

But the size is not that big (the display is only 5 inches). Nevertheless, for many clients this is enough for the Internet, games, and communication. In principle, a very good option for those who do not like to overpay for the manufacturer.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite

The latest model for today is the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite. A fairly inexpensive smartphone based on Android, which pleases users with its quality, as well as service life and performance. It can be found for about 4,000 rubles.

This model has the smallest display we have ever seen today - 4 inches. However, it is very comfortable to play. In standby mode, such a phone will work for about 2 weeks, and with intensive use - about a week. In talk mode - about a day.

Basically the 4 Lite is great and inexpensive as well modern choice, which allows you to use multiple SIM cards. However, in order for the battery to last long, you must constantly clear the so-called task manager of processes. Otherwise, the energy will go to nowhere. This is perhaps the only minus of the model.

Conclusion

So, it's time to sum up our conversation today. As you can see, it is impossible to single out just one phone that holds a charge for a long time. In fact, there are still many different models that differ in price, characteristics and operating time.

Nevertheless, it is worth paying attention to our rating. And if you want the charge to last for a long time on any phone, then always follow some instructions - when purchasing, immediately discharge the battery to zero, and then fully charge it. And then you should always use energy to the maximum. Phones usually give you messages telling you it's time to charge your battery, just when you really need it.

At first we thought of calling the article " Mobile phone M7700", but this model is unlikely to say anything to anyone, since she is an ordinary nameless Chinese. Moreover, he can easily be confused with Samsung 7700, so the title includes its main feature - this is a phone that holds a charge for a very long time.

A typical representative of telephones for old people is the so-called “Babushkaphone”, a very convenient and easy-to-use device. Russian keyboard, large buttons, loud (even too loud) speaker, and capacity battery is such that it lasts much more than a month in standby mode.

Another feature of the M7700 is the SOS button under the screen, designed for speed dial a specific number and triggering a loud alarm.

There is a keyboard “ladder”, there is a raised marking of the number “5” for those with poor vision. The buttons are very convenient due to their size. The display, although small (less than 2 inches), is perfectly readable.

The slider located on the side turns on the flashlight. Moreover, there are two of them - a small built-in one and a bright removable one.

We won’t talk about the price - it differs greatly depending on the online store. On average it costs about $50.

The photo-video camera is set to 1.3 megapixels - this is certainly not enough, especially since the photo quality is not so great. But we’re not going to do a photo shoot for her, so that’s enough for some cases.

Mobile phone tests

Surprisingly high-quality assembly, nothing creaks or wobbles, the loud speaker is so loud that it won’t seem too loud, the radio works even without headphones. Map support available MicroSD memory. On the color screen the font is large, all menus are in Russian.

A removable flashlight with seven very bright LEDs; the phone itself also has a built-in flashlight, which can be conveniently turned on from the side by simply switching it on. Due to the capacious battery, the phone will last up to a month without charging with daily calls of 10-20 minutes. Of course, you shouldn’t take the inscription on the battery 6800mA seriously - there is most likely no more than 3 Ampere/hour, but this is enough for a very long work M7700 without recharging.

Discuss the article PHONE THAT HOLDS CHARGE FOR A LONG TIME

They passed through our hands and we did not notice anything particularly outstanding about them.

However, the idea of “creating beauty,” that is, continuing the line of our own developments, is clearly not dead at Highscreen. Somewhere around the beginning of 2015, it went on general sale new model– Zera S Power. Its name speaks for itself - it is a smartphone with a capacious 4000 mAh battery. True, it clearly lacks the features of Boost 2 SE. This is a product of a lower price category, so its characteristics are worse. But let's talk about everything in order - let's start with the design.

Video review of Highscreen Zera S Power

Although first we suggest watching our video about Highscreen Zera S Power:

Now you can move on to the main part of the article.

Design

Compared to the first Boost, progress has definitely made progress. Although the design of that smartphone is still pleasant to remember - such a small, hewn black “brick”. It was quite possible for them to defend themselves in a dark gateway, and not just walk for a couple of days without recharging. Boost 2 has become different - more elongated, slimmer. Even a 6000 mAh battery did not change the situation much. And here we have Zera S Power - something between two “boosts”.

The design of the Zera line was taken as a basis. Actually, it’s not difficult to guess that the phone in question is the same as the Zera S in almost everything, with the exception of battery capacity. That is, it is the same strict rectangle of an ash-black body. True, Zera S Power does not look so elegant due to its “plump waist.”

The back cover is no longer matte, but smooth and even a little slippery. Its sides are made more sloping so as not to cut the palm. At the same time, it has the typical drawback of a smartphone with a large battery - due to its size, the cover does not fit tightly to the body, creaks and plays.

But in general, the smartphone lies more or less comfortably in the hand. Highscreen managed to achieve a relatively small weight of 145 grams, but the thickness of 13.5 mm cannot be called small. Although if you remember the first Boost with its 185 grams and 14.2 millimeters, then the Zera S Power is not such a brick. But Boost's design is still better.

Zera S Power has a 4.5-inch screen, which by modern standards cannot be called “large in size”. It fits easily in your pocket, so you should pay attention to this model if you not only need a phone with a large battery capacity, but also a moderately compact handset.

Connectors and controls

Zera S Power does not have any special sophistications in terms of interfaces or ideas for controls. All this is clearly out of place, since the main task of a smartphone is to have long charging and inexpensive.

On the top of the front panel, as always, are the earpiece and the front camera lens.

Below, under the screen, as always, we placed three touch buttons: Menu, Home and Back.

They have a moderately bright, clearly visible backlight. However, the buttons are visible even without it.

The rear camera and flash are located on the back of the phone. Moreover, unlike most modern smartphones, the lens here does not protrude, but is recessed.

At the bottom of the back cover there is a traditional perforation for the Zera series above the speaker.

The left side is dedicated only to the power button. It’s somehow more common to see it on the right, but here Highscreen decided to do it differently.

On the right, of course, is the volume control. And at the bottom there is a dimple for removing the back cover.

At the top end there is a 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones and headsets, as well as a microUSB connector. The latter, in our opinion, has no place here. Try talking on such a phone while it is charging, and you will understand what we are talking about.

There is only a microphone at the bottom.

The cover of the smartphone is surprisingly easy to remove. Under it you can see the battery, as well as connectors for SIM cards. You can't get to them without removing the battery. This does not apply to the memory card slot.

Of course, there is only one radio module in Zera S Power. There are two types of SIM cards supported: miniSIM (regular) and microSIM. The main one is miniSIM, 3G communication works through it.

If you suddenly have difficulties installing SIM cards in the Zera S Power, then our short video on this topic will help you solve the problem:

In total, the ergonomics of the Zera S Power can be characterized by the word “ordinary”. Although, of course, the microUSB port should not have been moved to the top end.

Contents of delivery

Years go by, but Highscreen’s corporate design has not changed in any way - a box made of pressed cardboard, on the lid of which is a cutaway image of a smartphone.

The package itself is ordinary: user manual, warranty card, cheap headset, USB cable and charger. The last two elements no longer look “like millions of other smartphones from China”, but a little more solid than usual. Somewhere at the level of A-brands. It's a pity that the package does not include a case for the Highscreen Zera S Power - with such dimensions it will not be easy to find it on sale separately.

Screen

Having extensive experience with Highscreen products, we are pleased to report that the company usually does not skimp on the screen. However, it cannot be said that she invests in them as much as possible. Typically, displays are installed of average quality; they are almost always IPS matrices. All this is true for the Zera S Power. Let us remember that this model refers to accessible solutions. So having a decent screen is a plus.

Let's say more - the display of the smartphone in question set a record for maximum brightness! We measured a value of 822.03 cd/m 2 - we have not seen more in any of the 65 devices tested at the time of preparing this review. A close value can be considered the brightness of the tablet screen, which turned out to be at the level of 714.61 cd/m2. The most bright smartphone that passed through our hands was . In general, Highscreen really tore everyone apart and by a noticeable margin. True, the Zera S Power matrix cannot boast of deep black color - the black brightness turned out to be at the level of 0.97 cd/m2. It looks gray, which is not surprising - average for most mobile screens 0.30-0.35 cd/m2. This results in a good, but not the best, contrast ratio of 847:1.

The diagonal of our “record holder” is relatively small - 4.5", which by modern standards is almost at the “entry” level. The resolution is also not the highest - 960x540 or qHD. If we were talking about a more expensive phone, then one would expect The resolution is at least 1280 x 720. And the display provides a pixel density of 245 ppi, which is not a record by modern standards.

So, everything is cool with the brightness of the “fat man” from Highscreen. What about the rest? The color gamut is also generally good. The display can easily display 16.7 million colors, but its color gamut is slightly out of sRGB, so not all of them will be displayed correctly. However, without special equipment no one will notice it.

The color temperature turned out to be quite high. It is, of course, overestimated for almost everyone, but is often at the level of 7700-8500K. In the case of the Zera S Power, the image appears even colder than it should be. Its temperature “jumps” in the range from 10500 to 12000K. It’s good that the graph is uniform - on bad screens it usually looks like a diagonal descending from above.

But the gamma curve is fine. It runs just slightly below the 2.2 reference curve at its bottom. That is, dark parts of the image appear slightly darker than necessary. But again, this will not be noticeable.

The Zera S Power screen only recognizes 5 touches. Not to say that you usually need more, but expensive smartphones the norm is 10.

The phone does not provide any special settings or display operating modes - again, we are not dealing with an A-brand flagship. Otherwise, the Zera S Power screen really stood out for its enormous brightness - a kind of smartphone-flashlight. In the sun, the colors and the rest of the picture remain clearly visible, but for comfortable use not on a summer street, it is better to set the brightness slider to 40-45%. It’s a pity, but the screen did not please with deep black color - the higher the brightness, the “graier” the black color will become. Otherwise, the Highscreen device is equipped with an IPS matrix of average characteristics - comparable to the level of the smartphone itself.

Camera

One of the main signs budget smartphone- This is a weak camera. Moreover, we are talking not only about a good sensor, but also about the camera application, as well as software post-processing of images. The application provides both advanced shooting settings and additional modes with the ability to apply a variety of effects. Well, post-processing can significantly improve photos and videos from the camera. A striking example where all three of these points are taken into account can be considered Samsung flagships. Well, in Highscreen Zera S Power, we can say that not a single one of them is taken into account.

The only “functional” advantage of the 5-megapixel sensor is autofocus. As for the application, it is standard from .

The settings are mediocre - all this can be seen on most smartphones without their own shell.

The shooting quality is generally mediocre. The maximum is “below average”. No, it’s not terrible, but pictures even during the day on the street turn out blurry. As the light becomes a little less, noise appears. The camera tries to overexpose the image every now and then. No sharpening is added when shooting with flash.

Video settings are also standard and not particularly extensive. The typical “HoloAndroid” localization is present here too: “Best” quality is better than “High”. Manufacturers cannot yet translate this into more understandable numbers. "Best" means Full HD.

The video is captured with approximately the same success as the photo - the white balance is not disturbed, but otherwise everything is slightly blurred, sometimes overexposed.

The front camera does not seem to be “the cheapest for show”; it has a resolution of 2 MP. Although, to be more precise, it is 1.8 MP. So you can expect relatively acceptable quality from it for front sensors.

No miracle happened. The only advantage of the facial sensor is that the white balance can be said to be determined correctly. Otherwise, the pictures are sometimes too dark, sometimes too light, and also all blurry.

The front camera shoots video in a modest VGA or 640x480 resolution. Yes, that’s right, it doesn’t look good – much like a photo with all the listed “advantages” and disadvantages.

The Highscreen product range is very extensive and consists of several product lines. Moreover, for those of them that are equipped with a capacious battery, there is both a separate Boost series and separate models in other lines. Zera S Power belongs to the second option. The company also has one, which is no longer produced, as well as Zera U, the model that replaced it. Yes, the series are completely different, but both products are united by both a 5-inch Full HD screen and a pair of complete batteries of 2000 and 4000 mAh.

Highscreen Zera S Power has characteristics at the level of current mid-budget models. Moreover, they are almost no different from the “original” Zera S. A slightly different version of the processor was installed, the amount of built-in memory was doubled, and the battery, of course. And the most amazing thing is how Highscreen managed to maintain almost the same weight! The Zera S weighs 143 grams and the Zera S Power weighs 145 grams. Moreover, the first one has a battery of only 1800 mAh.

Zera S Power is based on popular processor MediaTek MT6582, introduced in January 2013. There is nothing remarkable about it - this is a typical solution for inexpensive smartphones. Inside the chip there are four Cortex-A7 computing cores operating at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. There is also the Mali-400 MP2 graphics accelerator, which is no longer the most modern by 2015 standards. It doesn't support the latest APIs, but overall it's sufficient for a phone like the Zera S Power.

The amount of RAM is 1 GB - also the norm for affordable smartphones. There is 8 GB of built-in flash memory, which is not very much, but better than the 4 GB of the Zera S.

The remaining parameters are completely typical: support only 3G networks, compatibility with Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0. Nothing unusual, if not for the capacious battery.

In the table next to the Zera S Power, we put a smartphone that is its direct competitor. It's not difficult to notice that it is equipped with almost the same processor, but it has less built-in memory and a larger screen. Let's figure out which of them will be faster.

Performance testing

So that there is no misunderstanding, Smartphone Prestigio MultiPhone 5517 DUO is equipped with a MediaTek MT6582M processor, a slightly lighter version of the MT6582 found in the Zera S Power. The main difference between them is that the Mali-400 MP2 video card operates at 416, not 500 MHz.

In the old system-wide test Smartbench 2012 we see parity, with a very slight lead over Prestigio. The difference is extremely small and will not be noticeable to the eye.

The situation is similar in Antutu, Quadrant, and the SunSpider browser test - almost identical results, with Zera S Power slightly behind. This can only be attributed to more recent drivers from Prestigio or a slightly different build of Android. Although here and there version 4.4 is installed.

The difference in video card frequencies did not manifest itself in any way - both smartphones showed identical results in the 3D benchmarks eletopia and Nenamark2.

In 3DMark, the Zera S Power again showed a slight retention, although it should be exactly the opposite. And only in 3DRating did the phone from Highscreen come out a little ahead.

And now the most interesting thing - autonomy. Highscreen Zera S Power was able to save more battery charge than the Prestigio smartphone. However, this indicator cannot be called outstanding. For example, the 5.3-inch Lenovo S860, a fashion model with a capacious 4000 mAh battery, retained 76% charge. A – 82%. What can I say, equipped with a 5.5-inch screen and a 3000 mAh battery, it retained 77% charge.

Overall, the only outstanding quality of the Zera S Power is the battery. large capacity and that's all. Highscreen did not and still does not care about optimizing the software to reduce power consumption. However, like other B-brands, Prestigio literally failed in this test, given its powerful battery.

According to this graph, you can determine what consumes the most energy. Obviously, this is the screen, as well as resource-intensive tasks like games, especially 3D ones. Also loves to “eat” and 3G connection.

In summary, Highscreen Zera S Power is a typical inexpensive smartphone with a capacious battery. It is no different from competitors in terms of speed or autonomy.

Games on Highscreen Zera S Power

The Zera S Power handles games well.

  • Riptide GP2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Asphalt 7: Some delays are visible;

  • Asphalt 8: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour: Some delays are visible;
  • N.O.V.A. 3: Near Orbit: Some delays are visible;

  • Dead Trigger: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Trigger 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Real Racing 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Max Payne: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Mass Effect: Infiltrator: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Shadowgun: Dead Zone: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Frontline Commando: Normandy: Some delays are visible;

  • Frontline Commando 2: noticeably slows down;

  • Eternity Warriors 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Eternity Warriors 3: Some delays are visible;

  • Trial Xtreme 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Effect: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Plants vs Zombies 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Iron Man 3: excellent, the game does not slow down.

In general, no games slow down on the Highscreen Zera S Power. Or they barely slow down. Frontline Commando 2 managed to “distinguish” itself. Also, some games reduce the quality of graphics, including dropping the color depth from 32 to 16 bits. But they don’t slow down, yes. Typical behavior for such not-so-performing smartphones.

BY

Once upon a time, Highscreen experimented with pre-installing third-party shells on its smartphones, but now equips them with unmodified Android. In the case of Zera S Power this is version 4.4. The update to 5.0 most likely will not work. Highscreen, like any other B-brand, rarely updates smartphones to a more recent Android.

After entering the basic parameters, you will see an almost clean desktop with a standard set of shortcuts and widgets. The list of applications is also not striking in its diversity. Here we have a typical set of pure Android 4.4, except for the 4Sync client.

Highscreen has been cooperating with cloud service 4Sync. The cooperation is so close that information about it is even printed on the box with the smartphone. Depending on the model, you can get different volumes free space in the cloud. In the case of Zera S Power it is 64 GB.

In general, we have nothing more to say about the software. Highscreen Zera S Power has a standard calendar, standard audio and video players, standard file manager, gallery, voice recorder and so on. And perhaps this can be considered a plus. Especially if you consider the stupid manner of less famous companies installing a huge amount of software that duplicates standard functions on smartphones and tablets. Often there are clients of numerous stores, a full set of Yandex services, and the like.

Conclusion

Highscreen Zera S Power turned out not a bad smartphone with a capacious battery. Another thing is that he is not the only one on the market. Compared to other offerings from B-brands, this model generally stands out. Him better screen, a good amount of built-in memory, and a generally productive processor. Autonomy, as our test showed, is better than that of one of its direct competitors. And the weight of 145 grams with such a battery can be considered a record.

If you don’t pay attention to the “niche” features, then the Zera S Power turns out to be a sort of gray mouse, unremarkable in anything special. Appearance It may have some personality, but overall it is boring and uninteresting. The build quality could have been better, just as the ergonomics of the phone could have been tweaked.

And yet, in its Highscreen segment Zera S Power still looks good. Let's add to its advantages a decent screen with record brightness and pure android 4.4. And the price is not the highest, if you look at it.

Price Highscreen Zera S Power

You can buy Highscreen Zera S Power for 8 thousand rubles. The cost is not the lowest, but overall justified. Other devices will be offered for less money.

Prestigio MultiPhone The 5517 DUO, with which we compared the Zera S Power above, will cost closer to 10 thousand rubles. Let us remember that it has the same hardware platform, but a larger screen and half the built-in memory. At the same time, the resolution of the 5-inch display is the same – 960x540. The tube is noticeably heavier – 170 grams. The package also includes a case, as well as much more software installed on the smartphone. Not only branded, but also third-party utilities such as antivirus, cleaner, and so on.

Fly IQ4504 EVO Energy 5 and Explay Pulsar are devices of the same class. They also have a 4000 mAh battery, but they have an even worse screen (5" with a resolution of 854x480), only 512 MB of RAM. But they are cheaper - around 6-7 thousand rubles.

And again we are talking about Lenovo P780. Yes, yes, it is still for sale. And it costs a decent amount - around 7 thousand for the version with 4 GB of memory. But let us remind you that in addition to a 4000 mAh battery, it has a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720, a gigabyte of RAM, and the back cover is made of metal. In general, a worthy basis for current offers from B-brands.

Pros:

  • high capacity battery;
  • good autonomy;
  • relatively light weight, given the capacious battery;
  • Android 4.4;
  • 64 GB in cloud storage 4Sync;
  • good IPS screen with a huge brightness reserve.

Minuses:

  • mediocre design;
  • mediocre camera;
  • large thickness of the case due to the capacious battery;
  • The microUSB connector is inconveniently located;
  • back cover play.
