Huawei y 10. Huawei p10 lite is an excellent smartphone at a very reasonable price. Software and multimedia

Every year we become more and more accustomed to high-tech devices, so our requirements for such devices are gradually growing. Mate 10 smartphones are distinguished by their original design, serious technical characteristics and a set of interesting functions.

Huawei Mate 10 smartphone: advantages and features

If you have long dreamed of a device with which you can recreate the effect of full immersion in reality, then you should take a closer look at this particular model from the Chinese brand. Main feature This device can be called precisely its screen, which has achieved a balance between a sufficiently large display and small frames. Thanks to convenient options, you can fully focus on what is happening on the screen.

If we talk about the advantages of Huawei Mate 10, there are quite a lot of them:

  • fingerprint recognition technology when you click on a special area located on the case cover (it has a high degree of recognition, which makes the device more secure);
  • exquisite appearance thanks to the slightly rounded shape of the touch screen;
  • small size and weight - the smartphone fits perfectly in the hand, and touching its smooth surface causes a pleasant tactile sensation;
  • eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor and 4 GB random access memory completely eliminate the possibility of the system freezing or slowing down even when running several modern games and applications at the same time;
  • A fairly capacious battery (3340 mAh) allows you to use the gadget for a long time without the need to recharge.

A very important advantage of the Huawei Mate 10 smartphone is its unique screen with a FullView display, which is made using IPS technology. It supports HDR10 mode, so the colors and shades on the screen are reproduced with maximum realism.

In 2017, Huawei aims to attract buyers who cannot afford flagship models, using the P10 Lite phone. Deciding to no longer boast of dual and high-performance hardware, the Chinese company equipped the smartphone with a mid-range processor and a single main 12-megapixel image sensor, thus reducing the price to $350. These aren't the only changes Huawei has made, so you'll want to take a closer look at the model's specs before deciding whether it's worth considering.

Design

The mobile phone is called attractive and fully consistent with the style of the manufacturer. But it doesn't look like a true member of the P10 family, as it bears much more resemblance to last year's P9 Lite.

The model still has rounded corners and a metal chassis, but everything else has changed. The P10/P10 Plus phones feature an all-metal design with glass rear panel. This doesn't mean that new smartphone looks cheaper or fits less comfortably in the hand, but the user will have to carefully choose where to put it, since any surface that is not completely flat will slide. After purchasing this model, you will also need to get a case.

In addition, the smartphone differs from flagship prototypes in the absence of a dual camera and a hardware button to go to the home page, the position of the fingerprint sensor and the use of a Micro-USB port for charging.

The fingerprint sensor is conveniently located on the back of the device at a safe distance from the lens. Unlike some expensive Android phones high-end, the user does not risk dirtying the optics every time he tries to gain access. In addition, Huawei took care of installing a very fast and reliable scanner.

On the right side there is a textured power button and volume key, and on the left there is a hybrid tray for two Nano-SIM cards, one of which can be replaced with a Micro-SD card. The bottom edge houses the Micro-USB port and speaker grill, while the 3.5mm headset jack is located at the top.

In terms of size, the P10 Lite is taller, wider and thicker than the P10. This can be partly explained by the fact that the display Lite models slightly larger than Huawei's 2017 flagship.

The package also includes a 2-amp Charger, Micro-USB cable, in-ear headphones, information leaflets and SIM card ejection pin.

Screen

The smartphone is equipped with a 5.2” LCD display with a resolution of 1080x1920, providing a decent pixel density of 424 dpi. The maximum and minimum brightness levels are 539 and 4 nits respectively, providing good readability in the sun and in the dark and a contrast ratio of 1:1616.

The remaining characteristics are not so reassuring. The color temperature of the display is very high (9400 K). This means that most color shades will appear bluish. If this is a concern, you should go into your display settings and try to balance the situation by changing the color temperature settings.

In addition, the screen of the Huawei P10-Lite smartphone, according to reviews, tends to be oversaturated across the entire color gamut. Since most people like bright colors, this is not a big problem.

Interface and functionality

Like almost any recently released phone Huawei, P10 Lite comes with EMUI 5.1 user interface based on Android 7.0 platform. Operation is identical to P10, except that there is no physical button to go to the home page, acting as a multi-function navigation key.

Users who were used to EMUI before version 5 and didn't like the new software can give it another chance. Even though the interface still looks like a copy of iOS, Huawei has made sure to include some features that will make Android users feel more comfortable.

By default there is no app drawer, but you can enable it in the "Style" section home page» settings menu. If you don't like the default on-screen navigation key layout, you can choose from 4 different combinations.

Huawei P10-Lite, according to reviews from experienced users, is attractive with its great EMUI customization capabilities. However, this can shake the confidence of beginners or older people who may have a hard time coping with them. In this case, a simplified mode will come to the rescue, which can be activated in the “Advanced settings” tab.

All of this is to say that EMUI is one of Android's heaviest add-ons, and while that's true, transitioning between pages, sections, and screens of the P10 Lite's interface actually happens without any noticeable lag. This may be due to the fact that EMUI 5 trains the smartphone to monitor and allocate hardware resources to the applications that need them most. While this feature was difficult to test on the P10 and P10 Plus due to their high specifications, it's a different story for the Lite with its less powerful hardware.

Processor and memory

Half the performance of the P10 at half the price - that's what the Lite offers, by at least, on paper. Cellular telephone equipped with a Kirin 658 chipset consisting of 8 A53 cores. Half of them work with clock frequency 2.36 GHz, and the rest at 1.7 GHz.

Residents of the Asia-Pacific, Western European and North African regions have the opportunity to purchase the P10 Lite with 4 GB of RAM. Others can count on the 3GB version, but this configuration works surprisingly well.

Although the Huawei P10-Lite, according to reviews, cannot compare with the new flagships in AnTuTu or Geekbench tests, it manages to cope with the vast majority of everyday tasks without any problems. Navigation through the interface is flawless, and even demanding 3D games run smoothly. Of course, you won’t be able to play with a frame rate of 60 fps, but overall the result is satisfactory.

As for the internal storage, its volume is 32 GB, regardless of where the phone was purchased. If you need extra space for multimedia, there is a microSD card slot.

Connectivity

P10 Lite supports most standard frequency ranges. Connectivity options are wide ranging from NFC, GPS and Bluetooth 4.1 to latest standards WiFi, etc.

Cameras of the Huawei P10-Lite smartphone: characteristics and reviews

One major difference between the P10 Lite and its high-end prototype is that it doesn't have the fancy dual-camera setup. While this is certainly unfortunate, it should be noted that Huawei had to make sacrifices in order to offer the phone at a higher price. affordable price. Still, shooting with the Lite is a pleasure, as its single 12MP sensor with f/2.2 lens performs quite well.

The camera of the Huawei P10-Lite phone, according to reviews, copes with its task, especially in proper daylight. Photos are detailed, with adequate color rendition. Footage taken in low light has some graininess, which isn't surprising given the size of the sensor. However, this problem is smaller than might be expected due to the large pixel size of 1.25 µm.

From additional functionality, such as OIS and laser autofocus, had to be abandoned, but the camera of the Huawei P10-Lite (2017) smartphone is praised by reviews for its extensive application, almost identical to the one installed on the P10. A variety of features, filters and modes are available, including panorama, HDR, subject tracking, light painting, full focus and time-lapse. Amateur photographers will also be pleased to learn that manual settings are possible.

Video quality is acceptable but not impressive. There's no 4K support, so the camera can only record in full HD at 30fps, and the lack of OIS means there's no vibration protection and some clips can be really shaky. There are plenty of modes, though, and autofocus is fairly quick when recording.

As for selfies, the 8MP front camera is capable of capturing high-quality images. Portrait mode, however, does not always cope. The face turns out well, but the bokeh effect often fails. The beauty function is reliable and useful. The camera records images in fullHD resolution at 30 fps.

Multimedia

"Huawei-P10-Lite", according to reviews from the owners, for an award in the category " Best phone for multimedia” cannot count, but the playback quality is not the worst. As already mentioned, the LCD panel is extremely inaccurate in color reproduction. However, the phone makes up for this a bit with its audio quality. The bottom-mounted speaker is quite loud (79 dB) and doesn't crackle like some budget rivals, but it certainly lacks depth. Unlike other manufacturers, Huawei has not abandoned the 3.5mm jack, so using your favorite wired headset will ensure the best sound.

The Internet is flooded with information about Huawei smartphone p10 lite, which has become an excellent addition to the flagship model range famous manufacturer. Why?

The younger model, in addition to its pleasant design and impressive characteristics, also has, so many more people can afford it.

Here results of these characteristics in popular tests:

Unboxing

Many people speak very flatteringly about the delivery package. Moreover, we are talking not only about what is in the box with the smartphone, but also about what the packaging itself looks like.

This is thick cardboard which has a fairly consistent style and a pleasant design - a white removable part that hides a bright inner box.

As for the contents of the latter, in addition to the smartphone in film, The package includes:

Nothing more is needed, because additional accessories only increase the cost of the starter kit.

As practice shows, The included headsets or cases are rarely used, since all users have their own individual preferences when choosing these accessories. Everything is securely packed and compactly laid out. The same set is now present in most other smartphones, including famous manufacturers.

Design

A smartphone, like a person, is usually greeted by its appearance. That is why this model really exquisite design. All its corners are smoothly rounded, and the inserts are elegant.

This thin smartphone with two glass panels edged with a metal rim.

The smartphone designers were inspired by the natural shine of water, so the gadget has a double metal body, which has an attractive appearance thanks to the diamond processing technology used in production.

All this makes the smartphone gentle and strict at the same time. It is available in several colors - black, white, blue and gold.

According to the Mohs scale, glass has the seventh level of hardness. What does it mean? The smartphone is covered with glass on both sides, which is not afraid of scratches and damage.

In the blue version, the model lies under smooth glass, which creates the illusion of water ripples and plays pleasantly in the light.

The remaining color options are designed in a more classic style, which does not make them worse or better.

The metal parts of the smartphone are also made to last. Since they are processed using diamond dust, a pleasant corrugated structure is noticeable, but at the same time it is small enough not to create discomfort during use. It turns out that the phone lies pleasantly in the hand and does not slip.

Visual component

There are no buttons on the front of the smartphone. This is solid glass, in the upper part of which there is a hole for the earpiece.

Nearby there are light and proximity sensors, as well as a camera, which we will talk about later.

At the bottom of the screen there are three touch buttons and the company logo, which adds a special charm to the smartphone and emphasizes the company’s pride in its name.

The only problem- this is a rather large back part of the gadget, as already mentioned, also glass. In the center, just above the middle, is a square fingerprint sensor with rounded corners, and below it at the very bottom is the company logo again. In the upper left corner there is a camera and a LED flash.

On the right side panel, the embossed power button and smooth rocker feel nice.

It’s nice that even though the buttons are in their usual place, the designers took care of the difference in tactile sensations. All clicks are very smooth and do not cause negative impressions.

Left side- This is a SIM card slot. In order to use it, it is important to remember that no needles or other improvised means are suitable.

Advice! You can replace the SIM card or remove the memory card using the small paperclip that comes with the kit. Do not experiment with any other items.

There is a delicate insert on both sides, which many people mistakenly perceive as part of the design. However, it is the antenna strip that looks so organic.

By the way, the same inserts are located on the bottom edge of the device.

Since the base of the case is entirely made of metal, without such inserts it simply would not be able to perform its main functions.

The manufacturer tried to place them as harmoniously as possible so that they do not seem like an unnecessary element in a balanced design.

The upper part causes indignation among many, because The classic headset jack looks a bit rough. It is not in the center, which greatly spoils the perception of the smartphone.

However, these are rather the preferences of a certain circle of people.

On the same side you can find an auxiliary microphone designed for the operation of the noise reduction system.

Bottom of the smartphone- this is a grille of a fairly loud main speaker, a conversational microphone and a connector for . The latter, by the way, supports connection external devices, for example, mice, keyboards, speakers and other things using OTG technology.

The entire smartphone feels good. Nothing creaks or plays. Every design detail fits smoothly into the overall concept. Everything is very ergonomic and smooth.

Screen

This gadget has FHD display, the diagonal of which is 5.2 inches.

This combination allows you to make the display of information pleasant, and only a person with very perfect vision can notice the pixels.

The viewing angles of the phone are more than just decent thanks to constantly improving, and the image is deep and rich.

Light correction does not cause any complaints– as soon as the light level changes, the brightness is adjusted to the optimal level, which has a positive effect on eye health.

Among the interesting functions I would like to note Increases clarity in the sun and protects vision from ultraviolet radiation. The device also allows you to change the color temperature. All this will appeal to those who like to be online at any time of the day, and also use the gadget in various modes, from reading to reading. e-books.

Software and interface

The operating system is installed on the device Android system 7.0 Nougat.

As for the shell, like all smartphones of this Chinese brand, it is the proprietary EMUI 5, which has its own attractive design and is constantly being improved and improved.

We cannot judge how good or bad it is, because this is a matter of personal preference.

What really makes it stand out from other competitors is - This is a high-quality translation into Russian. For a purebred “Chinese” this is a rare virtue.

Many people love this shell for its wide range of capabilities: various themes, settings and interesting things, such as turning off the sound by simply turning it over or reducing its volume when taking the gadget in your hand.

Some people can't get enough of the "knuckle" or " " feature. To implement it, you need to touch the screen with a knuckle or draw a pattern (circle, and so on).

Clone app- this is another function that is possible in Huawei p10 lite and will be appreciated by owners of several accounts in in social networks or messengers.

With it you can communicate with others from several pages at the same time.

Each individual copy of the application is recognized by the system as an autonomous structure, which makes it easy to use the gadget as a professional communicator with multiple accounts at the same time.

Fingerprint

It feels like progress is not standing still. The sensor works great. Unlocking your smartphone is lightning fast.

It can also be used in other applications - camera, blocking from prying eyes or galleries, online banking, flipping through photos, opening the notification panel.

All this is possible thanks to the use modern version OS and makes it easier to use a smartphone, since you no longer need to set regular passwords to block access to personal information.

Performance

The gadget is endowed a good processor with eight cores Kirin 655, which can operate at a maximum frequency of 2100 MHz.

Everything is typical for the segment in which the device is located and easily copes with the assigned tasks.

The processor is quite economical, because it does not work at full capacity all the time.

To perform most tasks, the activity of two cores is enough, while the rest are put into sleep mode. This significantly increases the operating time on a single battery charge.

In heavy applications with complex graphics, Huawei p10 lite may slow down and twitch a little. But often those who purchase this gadget do not need to install such programs. And if you really need it, then lowering the graphics settings will easily solve the problem with any effects that cause slight discomfort.

Separately, it is worth noting the smooth scrolling animation when working with menus or text applications.

When using instant messengers and browsers, you will not feel the “gap” effect that can occur when there is insufficient processor and video adapter power to process information.

As for storing information, the smartphone is equipped with sufficient memory. Its volume is 32 gigabytes and can be expanded using .

To make switching between running applications as smooth as possible, 3 GB of RAM is provided.

It stores information about launched this moment programs and allows you to simultaneously play and chat on social networks using Push notifications.

Cameras

The older brothers of this model have a dual camera. However, the main camera here is very ordinary.

Although the Leica SUMMILUX-H lenses try to do their job, the camera, alas, cannot be called the strong point of this smartphone. Its detailing is poor, and its clarity often causes criticism.

However, shooting in low light is captivating - the pictures are more than decent, and there is practically no noise.

Therefore, we can say with confidence that the gadget is enough for taking photographs and shooting videos at home, but for professional photo shoots it is still better.

It produces acceptable quality. And with the function of eliminating skin defects, editing pictures takes a minimum amount of time.

Of course, the camera copes well with its tasks during conversations using video messengers.

Battery

The autonomy of a smartphone is neither strong nor weaknesses gadget. 3000 mAh is enough for active use of the smartphone throughout the day.

However, if you spend all your time playing games, then he may not survive until the evening without an outlet. The best way to use it is to charge it every night.

Separately, it is worth noting the fast charging technology, allowing you to quickly replenish the charge level if you need your smartphone right now. In just half an hour you can charge it by 30-40 percent, which is enough to work with voice communications for the whole day.

What makes a flagship device the best? Great camera, high performance and sane time battery life. All this can be found in new Huawei P10, which is positioned by the manufacturer as a model with excellent technical characteristics and adequate for both top smartphone price. Read our Huawei review P10 to find out what other features have appeared in the new Huawei flagship, and we also invite you to evaluate.

Out of the box the P10 runs on fresh Android versions 7.0.1 with EMUI 5.1 shell.

Equipment and appearance

The package includes the smartphone itself, a charger, USB cable Type-C, headphones, SIM card tray unlocking clip, plastic bumper and documentation. A very solid set is packaged in a box with an original design. It opens into two parts like a traveling bag.

Huawei P10 is sold in eight color variations. A bold design decision, considering that flagships usually have two or three color options.

The design of the P10 is significantly different from its predecessor. Its shape reveals the features of the iPhone 7. If you do not take into account the company logo on the back panel and the Leica designation near the camera, the phone can easily be confused with Apple's flagship.

Similarities with famous brand clearly played into Huawei's hands. P10 looks expensive and solid. He got a little thinner previous version P9, while the smartphone fits perfectly in the hand.

The front side of the smartphone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with a 2.5D effect. According to the manufacturer, it should withstand strong mechanical loads without problems. An original protective film is glued on top of Gorilla Glass, which does not have much practical value - the film becomes covered with scratches and becomes unusable quite quickly.

After removing the film, you can discover another unpleasant fact. The P10 screen is not covered with an oleophobic layer, which is extremely strange for both flagship smartphone. The display collects fingerprints; the glass must be constantly wiped with a cloth.

If you often carry your phone in your pocket with other metal objects, the paint layer on the back will gradually wear off. The P10 is easy to scratch, so be sure to use a silicone case.

The 5.1-inch display is surrounded thin frame. It is practically invisible. Something can be distinguished by looking closely at the bend of the glass. Below the screen is a fingerprint scanner, which is integrated into the multifunction touch key.

Earpiece speaker, front-facing 13-megapixel camera with autofocus sensor and LED event sensor are built into the top part front panel.

On the right side there is a volume rocker, just below the screen activation button. The latter has a red edging and corrugation. The color of the frame may differ in another design of the smartphone.

On the left is a combined slot for two SIM cards or one microSDXC card with a SIM card. The tray can be unlocked using a paperclip key. The bottom end has a port USB Type-C, multimedia speaker, 3.5 mm audio output for headphones and a main microphone. The noise reduction system includes another microphone placed on top of the smartphone.

At the back is the main “trump card” of the P10 – a dual 20-megapixel camera from Leica, a well-known manufacturer of professional photographic equipment. Just to the right of the cameras are the focus sensors, dual-component flash and Summarit lens markings. Below is the Huawei logo.

The back cover of the P10 is made of metal, the fields below and above the screen are made of ceramic. The front side of the smartphone is surrounded by a shiny bevel; the body is monolithic. A serious drawback lies in the poor resistance of the rear surface of the case to scratches and abrasions, which can be seen in the photo above. So you will have to carry the P10 in a case.

Overall, the Huawei P10 leaves the impression of an expensive flagship. It is pleasant to use, and due to its similarity to the iPhone, Apple fans may even like it, but we consider such disadvantages as the scratchy case and the lack of an oleophobic layer to be critical.

Screen

P10 is equipped with a 5.1-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels. Pixel density – 432 ppi. It is almost impossible to see individual pixels even from the closest distance. The picture on the screen is bright, juicy, with an adequate color temperature. At large viewing angles, the image on the display is almost not distorted.

Multitouch accepts a maximum of 9 touches; no problems in the operation of the sensor appeared during the test.

The display of Huawei P10 has a huge reserve of brightness. For everyday use, 30-40% of the maximum value is quite enough. What is happening on the screen is clearly visible both in bright light and when reading at night. By the way, the device has an eye protection mode. It minimizes eye-harming ultraviolet radiation.

In the display settings, you can change the color scheme and increase the sensitivity of the sensor for working with gloves.

Performance

The hardware component of Huawei P10 is one of the most modern platforms to date. The eight-core Huawei Kirin 960 processor with a maximum clock frequency of 2.4 GHz, the Mali-G71 MP8 graphics accelerator and 4 GB of RAM show very high results in performance tests (about 140,000 in Antutu).

Internal storage can be in two versions - 32 or 64 GB. Considering the relatively small difference in cost, when purchasing it is better to take a closer look at the older version. Good P10 iron matches with branded shell EMUI 5.1 in Android 7.0 OS, ensuring trouble-free operation of the device interface. There is a multi-window mode; running several applications at the same time is also not a problem for the P10.

The smartphone passed the gaming test perfectly. In Doodle Jump, the P10 sensors responded instantly to changes in position in space; WoT Blitz produces stable 50-60 frames per second at high settings.

Under heavy, prolonged load, the P10 begins to heat up a little. This affects performance tests, the phone reduces power to avoid overheating the processor.

Camera

The P10 cameras are, on paper, some of the coolest cameras on the market. The module design was developed by the German company Leica, which has been producing professional-grade cameras for almost a century.

Huawei P10 is equipped with two main cameras at once - a 12-megapixel with an RGB sensor and a 20-megapixel with a monochrome sensor. When capturing a frame, sophisticated laser, phase detection and depth autofocus systems are used.

Thanks to the dual camera, you can use the wide aperture mode. It produces great photos with beautiful-looking bokeh (blurred backgrounds). Present optical stabilization, as well as 2x smooth zoom technology.

In the dark, objects in the pictures are illuminated by a dual LED flash. At dusk, the pictures turn out quite well, even despite a significant amount of noise spoiling the detail. To get rid of them, you can experiment with manual mode and long exposure photography, but this will require a tripod.

Front-facing 8-megapixel camera with autofocus is head and shoulders above most main cameras Chinese smartphones. Selfies can be immediately improved (improved facial tone, removed minor imperfections) in standard application cameras.

You can shoot in PRO mode, where you can manually adjust the main parameters: shutter speed, exposure compensation, focus, etc.

The P10 does a good job of recording Full HD and 4K video at 60fps.

If you want to buy a smartphone with an excellent camera, but cheaper than the iPhone 7, the Huawei P10 is definitely your choice. It will please both ordinary users and professional photographers.

Speaker, sound quality

It’s impossible to find fault with the performance of the main and conversational speakers. The first gives a good volume reserve without distortion, normal bass and high frequencies. The second allows you to comfortably talk with your interlocutor in almost any conditions.

The standard headphones included in the package also pleased me. They are quite suitable for listening to music, without claims to audiophile quality; certain aspects of the sound can be adjusted using the built-in equalizer and get a very good sound.

Battery

The P10 uses a 3,200 mAh battery with SuperCharge fast charging. IN normal mode The battery can last for about a day. In energy saving mode, you can try to squeeze out as much as two days.

To achieve maximum operating time, you can change the screen resolution or limit the processor performance. A stress test with the game on, Wi-Fi and the screen at maximum brightness drained the smartphone in about 3 hours.

Communication and Internet

Huawei P10 supports work in all Russian LTE networks. Data transfer occurs at a very fast speed. To optimize this process, you can use Wi-Fi+ mode. It combines traffic from LTE and Wi-Fi. There is a Bluetooth interface.

Satellite satellites are used for navigation GPS systems, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou. The device finds the desired satellite in about 15-20 seconds on a cold start.

Video review of Huawei P10

Competitors, conclusion

Testing Huawei P10 leaves only pleasant impressions, from good design to high performance. I was pleased with the variety of colors, which makes the phone stand out against the background of standard gray monoblocks from other manufacturers.

Even the most picky users will be satisfied with the capabilities of the P10 cameras. Advanced photography modes and the ability to record high-quality video in 4K raise the smartphone to the same level as flagships from Apple and Samsung. Still, the Leica brand played a role.

But we couldn’t do without “BUT”. Disadvantages such as the lack of an oleophobic coating and the fragility of the paint on the back cover, despite all the advantages of the device, cast doubt on the purchase of the P10.

The main competitor is the 2016 flagship from Samsung. Galaxy S7 benefits from water protection wireless charging, QHD resolutions and Super AMOLED display. The cost of the two devices is approximately comparable.

If you sacrifice a little performance, you can get a cool camera, almost inferior to the P10, and impressive battery life. As an option, you can consider a perfectly balanced flagship without significant drawbacks at a more attractive price.

Introduction

It was quite logical to assume that the company would traditionally release a “light” version of the flagship device Huawei P10. There is little left of the original here, and, in fact, the model should have been called differently. Judge for yourself: the processor is much weaker, there is less memory, there is only one camera, and the design is very different from the P10 and P10 Plus. However, I think the marketing emphasis was placed specifically on naming, because if you have almost a flagship in your hands, judging by the “name,” then that’s cool.

The gadget itself is not bad in terms of materials, design, and characteristics: metal, glass, 8 core processor, a high resolution screen matrix, decent camera and adequate battery.

Now Huawei P10 Lite can be purchased at a price of 17,000 rubles. If you do this on the company’s website, you can easily get a Huawei AF14 monopod tripod as a gift.

Design, dimensions, control elements

As I said in the introduction, the device does not have a completely standard design for the Lite line. If previously these gadgets had a more or less similar appearance to flagship devices, then the P10 Lite is more likely to be an Honor product. However, this is my personal opinion.

I am sure that under 20,000 rubles you will not find a large number of smartphones with a decent, and most importantly, attractive design. The P10 Lite gadget is one of those devices that has a rather attractive appearance and will definitely be noticed.

Official sources claim that the P10 Lite uses glass (on both sides) so strong that it reaches the seventh level of hardness on the Mohs scale. This may be true, but not only small scratches appeared on the back side, but also quite large, deep scratches. There is an oleophobic coating in both places. The quality is average, prints quickly cover the glass.

By the way, I forgot to say that the back surface consists of several elements: it turns out that there is also a special film under the glass, which gives a beautiful reflection effect. It looks gorgeous on the device in blue. There are four color options in total: black, white, blue and gold.

The frame is metal, matte, with polished corners. The body shape is rectangular and the corners are smoothed.

The P10 Lite fits perfectly in the hand due to its light weight - 146 grams, adequate width - 2 mm and ideal (in my opinion) thickness - 7.2 mm. Despite the use of glass, the gadget does not slip out of the palm.

The front panel contains a camera, sensors, an indicator of missed events, and a speaker. The speaker is loud, the interlocutor can be heard without difficulty.

At the bottom there is a microphone, microUSB (where did they get this outdated connector?) and slots where the speakerphone is hidden. Additional microphone and 3.5 mm jack are on top.

On the left you will find a combination slot, and on the right - the power button (the surface is ribbed, the movement is small, audible quiet sound click) and the volume rocker key.

On the reverse side are the camera lens and flash, flush with the body. A little lower in the center is the fingerprint scanner.

Display

This device uses a screen with a diagonal of 5.2 inches. Physical size– 64x116 mm, frame on top – 14 mm, bottom – 16 mm, on the right and left – approximately 3.5 mm. There is an anti-reflective coating that is effective.

The display resolution of the P10 Lite is FullHD, that is, 1080x1920 pixels, aspect ratio is 16:9, density is 423 pixels per inch. IPS matrix (LTPS LCD TFT) without an air gap.

The maximum brightness of white color is 450 cd/m2, the maximum brightness of black color is 0.5 cd/m2, contrast is 900:1.

Judging by the sRGB triangle, colors should be saturated, especially in the red and green zone. The only annoying thing is the greatly varying temperature relative to the brightness. Other parameters are normal.

The device has an eye protection mode that reduces the level of UV radiation from the screen and prevents eye fatigue when using the smartphone for a long time.

Battery

This model uses a non-removable lithium polymer (Li-Pol) battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh.

The smartphone functions approximately as long as all the main competitors with a 3000 mAh battery. In my use it is about 3.5 – 4 hours of screen glow per automatic brightness: approximately 12-14 hours of gadget operation.

Video playback is just over 6 hours at maximum brightness. Games – about 5 hours at maximum brightness.

Fast charging is claimed, but we had a test copy without a proprietary network adapter. From “charging” 5V – 2A, the device receives 100% “power” in 3 hours.

Communication capabilities

The device works not only in 2G (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)/3G networks (HSPA+ up to 42 Mbit/s), but also 4G CAT 6: 4G FDD LTE: Band 1/3/7/8/20

There is an NFC chip! The rest is standard for any expensive Android smartphone: GPS and GLONASS, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.1 BLE, USB 2.0 with OTG support.

Memory and memory card

This model has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Flash memory. RAM speed – 5200 MB/s, built-in memory speed: read – 95 MB/s, write – 45 MB/s, extremely weak performance. You can also install a memory card up to 128 GB.

Cameras

The main camera is 12 MP with an aperture of f=2.2, and the front camera is 8 MP with an aperture of f=2.0.

In almost all lighting conditions, the Huawei P10 Lite camera takes pictures very well, at the level of the Huawei P10, oddly enough. There may be a difference in color rendering. The front camera takes good pictures, I can’t say anything reprehensible.

In general, whether this is good or bad, after testing Huawei P10, P9, Nova 2 and Honor 8/9, it seemed to me that they have approximately the same camera modules, since they shoot approximately equally well. The difference is noticeable only with direct comparison, and even then it is minimal.

Video is recorded in FullHD resolution 30 fps. The quality is normal for such cameras. Focus speed is average.
