Let's say you don't have Bluetooth in your car head unit. And as a result, there is no way to turn on music wirelessly or receive incoming call. But, usually, the car has at least an AUX input. This is where this device comes in handy.

Connection

So, having opened the box and looked around, it was decided to test the receiver according to the main scenario - use in a car. The device has its own 270 mAh battery, which should provide up to 27 days of standby time, 8 and 10 hours of music playback and calls, respectively. Thumbs up. Especially the standby mode.
In any case, it is better to power it from the supplied (or any other of your own) adapter. Next, we connect the cable to the AUX connector of the car and... tada-m - you are a happy owner of bluetooth in your car.

To pair, you need to turn on the receiver with the toggle switch and hold down the multifunction button for a long time (as in many other similar devices and headsets). Next, we search through the phone, find “Avantree cara”, and pair it. The receiver is defined as a headset, which means not only music output, but also conversations. It’s simple, I think there’s no point in explaining how it’s done.

Installation in the car

Here you should be guided by several thoughts. We arrange it so that:

1. minimize the length of dangling wires (if it is impossible to lay them under the casing
2. it was convenient to run the wires under the casing
3. was as close to the head as possible (we’ll talk)

One day, while walking through the expanses of geektimes, I read a review about portable speakers. Thanks to him and comments, I came across a budget 4.0 receiver. After my previous experience, I didn’t want to spend much money, but here $3-4 played a role.

After conducting another test with a home audio system, I realized that the quality here is completely different. There was no longer that distinct metallic tint as in Belkin, but there were background noise. Yes, for portable homemade speakers the sound is quite good. But not more.
Later, having opened the case, read the chip markings and found the datasheet, I saw that inside the RDA5851S and its BT 2.1

A little background. While reading Giktimes, I noticed a new company for me, Dadget. Namely, that people take the devices for themselves and review them. I found a cooperation program, discussed the terms with Dadget, and a week later I had the same device from the first part of the material.
To be honest, at that time I myself would not have bought a transmission device, since I had negative impressions (using the example of the two devices below).
But here it is clearly stated in the bluetooth V4.0 specifications with HFP, HSP, A2DP, AVRCP profiles and decoder support: apt-X, SBC, MP3, AAC.
I'll give bluetooth another chance. I thought.

Sound impressions

Testing was very difficult. Because the sound turned out to be very good indeed. It was difficult to hear the difference between AUX and bluetooth. I tried to quickly switch the type of connection. Appealed to the opinion of independent people (who do not see what source in this moment used). I even took spectrograms so that I could base it not on “oh, it seems worse,” but on objective data.

In reality, the sound of the Audio Bridge is not bad, very good. Yes, there are impressions that the high frequencies change a little bit. but they either become louder or are simply detailed differently. After all, the DAC in the receiver is different from the DAC in the phone. But this difference in highs is very difficult to hear. What definitely catches your eye on “bass-heavy” compositions is the weakening of the bass. They don't disappear, they don't become distorted, they just become quieter. However, this is noticeable only on really “rocking” tracks.

I secured the device in the area of ​​the ignition key. The most convenient place within my car.
I conducted call tests while sitting in a parked car, with the windows closed.
Noise cancellation really works quite well. I chatted with a friend for about 20 minutes. He said that he could hear me well enough.
Next, I tested the same scenario, but on the fly. The window was slightly open. The conversation had to end because... the interlocutor complained about poor sound quality.
Since “hard of hearing” is very subjective, I later switched places, put the person in my car, and I talked on the phone. So, the sound turned out to be quite quiet. More than that, I heard my voice duplicated by the car speakers as an echo.
I asked the person to speak closer to the receiver - this did not change the picture much. In the flesh, to the point that they spoke almost into the receiver itself.

conclusions

Using the receiver to listen to music in the car or at home (audio system) is quite comfortable. I would rate the sound quality as a solid 4 out of 5, where the standard is direct transmission via AUX.
This will help “pump up” your car’s audio system a little and make listening to music more convenient.

As a device for conversations, I rate the device 3-. It is quite possible to talk, but not for long. This will help you out while driving, but, alas, you won’t be able to arrange a comfortable conference. As for me, it is better to use a headset or talk through the phone.

I will definitely use the device myself, but most likely only to transfer music. Both in the car and at home.

At home, the LG FB166 music center has been working properly for several years now. In terms of sound quality, it suits me quite well. The only thing that disappoints is the support for audio formats (MP3, WMA, AudioCD). The situation is similar with a car radio, a simple Sony. Since there are several good portable players, all music collection I mostly use lossless FLAC format. You have to convert music for both sources, which is not very convenient and takes a lot of time. There was a need for a small, portable intermediate device that could be connected to a stereo or car stereo and transmit music in any audio format through it, without the need for conversion. For this purpose it was purchased this device. Let's take a closer look at it together, and at the same time connect it to a music center and car radio.

Pairing with an audio source

To pair with a source, you need to activate the Bluetooth connection on the source, and on the receiver hold down the button for a few seconds (about 5 seconds) until the color indication appears. The connection occurs automatically.

The connection is strong. No interruptions or stutters. The radius in a straight line, without obstacles, is about 15 meters (the receiver is in the car).

If the absence of connection is not too long, about 30 minutes, then when both devices fall within range, the connection occurs automatically. Full charge, charger 5V, 1.5A for about an hour. During charging, the indicator lights up red. When charging is complete it goes out. You can listen to music while charging.

Playback time (according to car BC, travel time) is 9 hours or so, which is close to what the manufacturer claims.

Connection to car radio via AUX input. Car acoustics are quite simple. In the car, music for me is more for the background. Sound source, ASUS ZenFone 2 smartphone. I like the sound, even taking into account the budget speakers and the same head. The sound, in my opinion, is even better than MP3 from a flash drive.
In music mode, press the button - Pause/Play. I tried it in two players TTPOD and Poweramp, switching tracks by double or triple clicking the tracks does not work.
In addition, there is a speakerphone for calls and navigation. In conversation mode, pressing the button - Answer/End.
On a smartphone regular means You can separately adjust the volume for music, system notifications and incoming calls. When there are incoming calls and notifications, the music pauses.

I want to write my review about a receiver that allows you to transmit sound from your phone to wired headphones. It can also be used with speakers, and the sound can be transmitted from a computer or laptop.

This product has already appeared here, but I didn’t have enough information, so I’m writing my review.

The reason for the purchase is simple, the 3.5 audio port on my phone is loose, do-it-yourself repair It helped, but not for long, for a full repair you need a soldering gun, which I don’t have, and I don’t want to pay a lot of money to repairmen for repairs, since I know that repairs are cheap, but prices are sky-high everywhere.

On 10/14/2015 the goods were sent to me, the cost was 174.95 rubles, on 11/02/2015 I found the parcel in my mailbox.

How it works? We insert headphones or speakers (3.5 jack) into the receiver, insert the receiver into a USB port that provides power, I powered it from the phone via OTG, it can be from USB speakers if available, or from a computer, in general it depends on the situation. In my case, I want to find a portable battery.
On the phone we turn on BT and look for the YET-M1 device, contact it, if necessary, enter the code 0000.

We turn on the music and are glad that everything works.

Alas, there are shortcomings. This is noise in the headphones. While listening to music, nothing is noticeable, but when nothing is playing or the beginning of the track is empty, you hear noise, like a record or an old cassette tape, and sometimes like an old telephone lines all sorts of clicks and sets. But not too loud, it doesn’t bother me, I can now watch movies on the train, because... my BT Logitech open type, lose all sound.

The stated 10 meters do not reflect reality; when connected to a laptop and moving the phone 4 meters forward, the sound was interrupted, humming and barely working. 1-2 meters, everything is fine, even more so in a pants pocket.

You can turn wired headphones or speakers into wireless ones, to one degree or another.
+ There are no problems with pairing, everything was picked up and working right away.
+ There is no large-scale drop in sound quality. Movies look the same as before, perhaps there is a slightly more noticeable deterioration in music.
+ I have not yet noticed any sound lag when watching videos.

They do sound, but not terribly loud. It is noticeable mainly when there is no sound, or everyone is silent in the film, in general, from scratch.
- Still, the sound quality is a little lower for me Sennheiser headphones IE4, native sound is better. Maybe it's all about the same background. However, in general terms, everything is not bad.
- This model The receiver is not the most compact, I'm waiting for another, smaller one. This one is the size of a fat flash drive.
- In conjunction with OTG, there is a danger of damaging the microUSB port of the phone. And the design is not the smallest.
- Can be linked to portable battery, but you need to look for a small and suitable option. The fact is that I have a 2-cell battery, but it does not charge my BT headphones or power the receiver.
