Lumiya froze, how to reboot. What to do if your Nokia phone is frozen. Nokia secret reset codes without data loss

IN modern models Nokia phones, such as Lumia 720, 1020, 925, 920, 625 and so on, we are finding more and more advanced technologies.

Unfortunately, from time to time they may refuse to obey us and freeze. If you are one of the model owners Nokia Lumia, see below how to deal with this problem.

When your Nokia Lumia is not responding - it's frozen, then the easiest way to bring it back to life is to remove the battery.

Unfortunately, some of the Nokia Lumia phones have a built-in battery, so this option will not be available to you.

This may happen on the splash screen, on the logo when turned on, or during operation when it does not respond to anything - then use one of the reset methods described below.

NOTE: a Nokia keyboard, for example, 210.2, can also freeze, but the methods below will not always work, there are other technologies. What is provided here refers to those that work on Windows Phone.

Nokia Lumia is frozen - do a soft reset

Its task is only to reboot the phone and restore it to a working state.

This is a non-invasive way to reset your phone without losing all your data and images. How to do it?

If your phone does not respond to normal presses of the power button, press and hold it while holding down the volume down key for a few seconds.

After some time, the phone should vibrate and restart. Unfortunately, in difficult cases, this method may not be effective. Then try a hard reset.

Nokia Lumia phone freezes - do a hard reset

Using this method, you need to remember that after this operation, all data on the phone will be deleted.

This can only be done when the phone is turned off. If this is the case, then press and hold three buttons at the same time: volume down, power and camera.

Wait for vibration to appear and release the power button. Then do not release the volume down and camera buttons for about 5 seconds. Next, the process of restoring factory settings will begin.

NOTE: The above applies to Windows Phone 7. If you have Windows Phone 8, read below.

Be sure to turn off the phone, press “Power” + “Volume Down” and hold it until it vibrates.

When vibration starts, immediately release “Turn on” and hold “Volume” until an exclamation mark appears on the screen.

Now press the combination “Volume (+)”, “Volume (-)”, “Power on”, “Volume (-)” once in succession. After this, recovery will begin.

Why do Nokia phones freeze?

Most often, Nokia phones freeze due to memory. For example, in Lumiya 720 it is only 512 MB.

Therefore, they need to be cleaned of “junk” from time to time, otherwise they will start to freeze (try to have 50% free).

They can also freeze due to a software glitch. Then usually the problem is solved by flashing it, which is not difficult to do yourself.

Nokia can also freeze due to hardware reasons. For example, through the failure of some component.

What to do? Send it for diagnostics, since without special equipment it is most often impossible to find out the cause.

Of course, other reasons cannot be ruled out, but these are individual, not typical. Good luck.

Recently I came across a Nokia smartphone model TA-1032. Slim die-cast body, modern stylish design, durable screen and new (on this moment) eighth Android. I won’t talk about the characteristics and number of parrots in the tests. This information can be easily found on other sites. The only thing I didn't like was the terrible blue color rendition of the display. Otherwise the device is quite good for its price.

How to insert a SIM card into Nokia 3?

Using the included key clip, open the SIM card tray No. 1 (top). It can accommodate two nano-SIMs. They are signed with numbers.

The bottom compartment is designed for a micro SD memory card.

Or watch the video for clarity:

Nokia 3 won't charge

Possible reasons:

  • Broken Charger.
  • Bad USB cable (this is not always obvious from the outside).
  • Poor contact between the connector and the charger plug.
  • The power controller in the phone is broken.
  • The battery is faulty.
  • Software failure.

The first two points are the most common. Try taking the charger from another phone, replacing the cable, moving the cable, rebooting the phone. If these steps do not help, you can do Hard Reset, and if there are no results, all that remains is to take it to the service center.

The phone does not charge fully, up to a maximum of 68%.

This problem can be solved in two ways:

  1. Needs to be opened back cover and secure the battery with tape. If it doesn’t help, disconnect the battery and reconnect it after a couple of minutes. On older versions with a removable battery, this also solved the problem.
  2. Nothing to do. Just continue to use your smartphone and charge it every evening. Perhaps the first two days the maximum charge will be the same (68-72%). But in next days interest will begin to add up. In a week the charge will reach 100%. In the future, the phone should charge normally.

Nokia 3 gets warm

If heating occurs while the phone is operating, this is normal when there is a good load on the processor. This happens in games.

The smartphone battery may also heat up while charging. Try changing the charger (if you are using a non-original one) or socket. You should not keep your phone connected to the network for a long time after it is fully charged.

There is nothing wrong with the heating of the battery (if it is not constant and not strong).

Nokia 3 disassembly

In this case, it’s better to watch the video once and learn how to disassemble your Nokia 3 yourself than to take it to a service center to change, for example, the battery. But if you need to replace a sensor, display, camera, touchscreen or glass, you shouldn’t go into such a jungle without experience. Breaking the device is a piece of cake.

Nokia 3: battery replacement

This operation can be completed in approximately 40 minutes and 12 steps. We will need:

  • Hairdryer (construction or household).
  • Small Phillips screwdriver (1.5 mm).
  • A plectrum is a plastic or metal plate.
  • Tweezers.
  • Thin double-sided transparent tape (for example, 3M).
  • Special glue for repairing mobile phones (for example, B-7000).
  • New battery.

Let's start replacing:

  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Pull out the SIM and SD card trays.
  3. Use a bottle opener to hook the back cover and remove it.
  4. The area around the camera is not so easy to peel off - this area can be heated with a hairdryer to soften the glue or trimmed with a thin long knife.
  5. The lid is thin, flexible and quite durable, but if bent too hard, the edges may crack.
  6. Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the housing.
  7. Remove the top frame (in the area of the camera) by picking it up with a pick.
  8. Use tweezers and disconnect the battery power cable from the connector on the motherboard.
  9. Remove the bottom frame by picking it up with a pick.
  10. Pull the black plastic tail to remove the adhesive tape from under the battery.
  11. Push the battery out of the tray to replace it with a new one.
  12. When assembling the phone, apply glue where it was previously. The Chinese often skimp on tape, so it’s better to seal the battery with double-sided tape for reliability.

1020, 920, 925 and 928 and more early models Lumia (800 and 900) are equipped with a monolithic body, which means full protection phone from access to the inside: unfortunately, you won’t be able to remove the battery and replace it yourself; you will only have to contact Nokia’s service center. The same applies to cases where phones freeze, when simply removing and installing them in place battery helped to “revive” a gadget that had stopped responding to user actions. IN similar cases two options to solve the problem: Soft Reset and Hard Reset.

Soft Reset Nokia Lumia 1020

To perform a Soft Reset, use the following set of actions:

To perform a Soft Reset, hold down the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously until the phone vibrates three times. Then, within a few seconds, a reboot will occur and the Nokia logo will appear on the smartphone screen.

Hard Reset Nokia Lumia 1020

Sometimes Soft Reset does not solve all the problems that have arisen with the phone; in such cases, to solve problems, they resort to the Hard Reset method (“Hard Reset”). Warning: The Hard Reset procedure will destroy all information stored in your phone's memory. Here you should always remember about permanent backups of your most important data. So let's get started.

Step 1: Copy all information stored on your phone that is important to you and store it in a safe place.

It is worth remembering that a phone running Windows OS is automatically configured to save your contacts to your Microsoft account.

Step 2: If your Windows smartphone allows you to “get” to the phone settings, do the following: select Settings > About phone > Reset your Phone.[All your personal information will be deleted and your phone will be reset to factory settings.]

If the phone shows no signs of life (read: reacts to being turned on), follow the instructions below:

Step 3: Turn off your phone.

Your smartphone must be turned off before performing the following procedure.

In addition to the method described above, you can Hard Reset your smartphone using the three-button reset method shown in the picture above. Press and hold the Camera button, Volume Down button, and Power button at the same time. Wait until the phone vibrates. When the vibration is triggered, release the Power button, but continue to hold the Volume Down button and the Camera button until the phone reboots and the welcome picture appears on the screen.

Note: Nokia has released an additional set of instructions in case the method described above does not help you reboot your smartphone.

So a brand new Nokia 5 smartphone on Android 7 fell into my hands, with typical problem forgot the pattern key. It is almost impossible to perform a factory reset using standard functions from the menu of a phone with a locked screen; therefore, I decided to do such a reset via a hard reset, and since I did not find instructions with all the recommendations, I decided to write it myself.

First, I’ll tell you a little about why a hard reset is needed and what problems it can fix. This manipulation is resorted to only if it is not possible to perform a factory reset using standard methods. I will say right away that after a Hard reset, all the data that was on the smartphone will be deleted, and the device will return to the state of the phone from the factory.

Thanks to this, you will not only reset a forgotten pattern key, but also remove annoying errors such as, the application has stopped, there is not enough memory when installing programs, etc.

Warning: beginning with android versions 5 and higher, in our case we will perform such a reset on a Nokia 5 smartphone with a pre-installed Android 7 system, You must know your account and password, otherwise you will not be able to activate your smartphone after resetting. I described how to create an account on the phone in this topic “”.

Reading the comments, I decided to add to the topic today, November 7, 2018. If you decide to reset your Nokia phone, but don’t remember your Google account and the phone still works, but with glitches, I advise you to do “”, and then proceed with the “hard reset”. This unlocking will untie your smartphone from account. With respect to you!

Well, now, in principle, we read the instructions themselves carefully, since they have a small feature and universal scheme as in this topic, “ ” will not work.

Let's start, if your Nokia 5 smartphone is turned on, turn it off and wait for it to turn off completely. Attention: after a complete shutdown, take the charger and connect our smartphone to charging, this action is mandatory, otherwise you will not be able to perform a factory reset via a hard reset. We are waiting for the battery to appear on the display as during charging, screenshot below.

And only after the battery indicator disappears, press and hold the volume plus “+” key and turn on the “Power” key at the same time (the location of the buttons is shown in the picture below).

By holding down these buttons, the display will display a logo with the inscription Android, continue to hold the buttons for 3-5 seconds, then release the power button, hold down the volume “+”.

A couple more seconds and you'll be in recovery menu the same as in the screenshot below. Using the volume “+” and “-” buttons, move to the “wipe data/factory reset” section, select it, and confirm our choice with the power button.

In the window that appears, use the same method to move to “Yes” and confirm the action with the power button, after which the phone itself automatic mode will reset the smartphone to its factory state.

The whole process takes place automatically, upon completion of which you will be thrown back to the initial menu. In it, select “reboot system now” and confirm the action.

This concludes our instructions; your phone will reboot and become like a smartphone from the factory. The first startup after a Hard Reset is quite slow due to the fact that virtually the entire operating system is reinstalled Android systems. We configure the switched-on phone as new, and if we have a ready-made account, enter it and enjoy the phone without errors and graphic key. If you have any questions on this topic, write comments with questions, I will be glad to help. With respect to you!

This NSS method does not reset your phone but reads all your data. Is it dangerous. This is the reason why Nokia has blocked this feature through firmware updates. This method may or may not work on your phone due to an update. But it's worth trying this method because it won't delete your data like a hard reset.

  • Download NSS (Nemesis Service Suite)
  • Don't install it on C drive because it has resolution issues. Use other drives D, E, F, etc.
  • Connect your phone to your computer using Ovi Suite or PC Suite. Close the Ovi/PC suite if it is running automatically. We don't need this.
