Specifications a35. Battery life

In 1999, mechanics of the American division of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. introduced to the world the 3.5-liter J35A engine, based on the J32A power unit. The basis was taken from the V-shaped six-cylinder block of its predecessor, a forged crankshaft and connecting rods.

The J35 line of gasoline internal combustion engines has many modifications, which are characterized by the presence of single-shaft (SOHC) BC heads with a VTEC system, 24 valves (4 for each cylinder) and timing belt drives. A unique feature of some engines of the family is the combination of two systems - VCM and VTEC.

The J35 engine numbers are located under the oil filler neck, below the vertical platform on the BC.

J35A

ATTENTION! A completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption has been found! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also didn’t believe it until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

For the first time, the J35A V6 was tested in the Odyssey minivan.

Advantages and problems of J35A/A8/Y/Z2/Z4

The power units of the J35 line are undoubtedly among the most reliable internal combustion engines and operate throughout their entire service life without any particular problems.

  • VTEC;
  • Reliability and simplicity of design.
  • Oil leaks through VCM block gaskets;
  • Premature wear of camshaft cams (mainly in J35Z engines);
  • Side effect of VCM.

If oil leaks through the VCM were detected in time, this can be solved by replacing the gasket set.

Wear of the camshaft cams, recognized by a characteristic metallic sound, occurs if the valve clearances have not been adjusted in a timely manner. After a run of 100 thousand km, the problem is solved by replacing the camshaft.

Particular attention should be paid to the side effect of the VCM function, caused by the fact that the operation of the system leads to temperature surges, which result in poorer combustion of the fuel mixture, so over time, one “head” of the engine becomes “dirtier” than the other.

The main thing in caring for any of the J35 series engines is the usual checks of fluid levels, inspection for leaks, as well as timely maintenance, good oil and high-quality fuel, and then the service life of the internal combustion engine will be longer than indicated in the manual.

Tuning and turbocharging J35A

Almost any tuning of the J35A is a rather expensive undertaking, but if you really want to, you can modify the engine using stock spare parts. For example, take the cylinder head and pistons from the J32A2, as well as all the attachments from it. Additionally, you can purchase a good forward flow on a 76 mm pipe, and ultimately get more than 330 hp at the flywheel.

If, after a thorough porting of the cylinder head, you install tuning camshafts, valve springs and discs from Bishimoto, a cold inlet on the J37A manifold, and a manifold without a catalyst on the exhaust, as well as a 76 mm exhaust, then you can get even more power.

In fact, tuning the power plants of the J35 line is almost a pointless exercise. These engines are good as a whole, therefore, if they are modified, this should only be done by true professionals, using the most expensive spare parts from branded tuning studios.

Conclusion

Honda almost managed to create the perfect unit, and it must be admitted that the entire J35 is an extremely reliable and torquey power plant. And even if they are on the side of Honda in-line engines, but in terms of durability and technical specifications will give a head start to many of their competitors.

Initially, J35 power units were intended for the most prestigious cars aimed at the American market. However, over time, the engines began to be popular all over the world and have proven themselves in the most positive ways. It’s not just that the production of these motors continues to this day.

And so let's begin our FIRST review, and this will be laptop DNS Gamer (0154207) meet.

Let's look at the very essence of the review and what it should serve for and by what principles we will carry out this ritual.

The first is probably that the manufacturer offers us a laptop as a gaming laptop. Accordingly, we will consider it as a game.

Now let's look at the review plan:

1. Appearance and materials.

2. Number and types of interfaces.

4. Technical stuffing.

5. Tests in games.

6. Conclusion and conclusions.

And so point 1. Appearance and materials.

Damn, you know, I’ll be honest, he’s kind of all glossy. Constantly collects fingerprints. As the owner of this miracle, I constantly wipe it. And this strip is like aluminum with DNS logo. Well, not to the village, not to the city. The keys are made quite well, but damn they make a lot of noise when pressed. The touch keys located above the keyboard sometimes just freeze me out. You start doing something and periodically touch them, then turn off Wi-Fi, then turn down the volume, in short, the idea is not so great. The power button of the laptop is quite good, illuminated with such a blue light. Activity indicators are the same.

The laptop itself is assembled quite well, does not hold anything together, does not groan. Above the touch keys there is a compartment for the speakers, it is all full of holes, and all sorts of crap (dust, crumbs, etc.) is constantly stuffed into these holes. I have to clean it out.

The cooling outlet is made quite conveniently, there will be no problems cleaning it. All you have to do is unscrew a couple of bolts on the back panel and voila, there you have it.

Clause 2. Number and types of interfaces.

And so in front we only have indicators and a slot for MMC, SD, MS/PRO memory cards and nothing else.

On the left we have:

2 pieces - USB 3.0;

1 piece - HDMI;

1 piece - VGA;

1 piece - RJ4;

1 piece - lock;

1 piece - CD/DVD drive;

2 pieces - USB 2.0;

1 piece - headphone jack;

1 piece - microphone connector.

1 piece - connector for power connection. Damn, it’s completely out of place here, well, they should have done it from behind or to the left.

There are no more interfaces. There is complete silence behind.

Point 3. Screen (matrix).

Since the laptop is a gaming laptop, the matrix must have good response and resolution. And here the resolution really is FHD (1920 by 1080). The picture is very good. The colors are rich, the picture is clear. But damn, the viewing angles suffer. If you deviate by 40 degrees, the colors begin to disappear and glare appears.

This is what AIDA64 gives us:

Here are the specifications for this matrix provided by the website http://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk

Technical Specification:
Screen Type FULL HD
Screen Finish GLOSS
Screen Resolution 1920x1080
Backlight LED Backlighting
Data connector 40 PIN
Connector Position Bottom Left
Photograph Example

Well, I think about the matrix and I’ll finish here. Damn, I'm not good at these screens to be honest. Let's move on.

Point 4. Technical stuffing.

This is where the good stuff begins. Well, are you ready?

Here is the filling specification:

CPU

Mobile DualCore Intel Core i5-2450M, 2900 MHz (29 x 100)

L1 cache - 32 KB per core

L2 cache - 256 KB per core (On-Die, ECC, Full-Speed)

L3 cache - 3 KB (On-Die, ECC, Full-Speed)

Chipset

North Bridge - Intel Sandy Bridge-MB IMC

Southbridge - Intel Panther Point HM76

RAM

Elpida EBJ41UF8BCS0-DJ-F - 2 modules of 4 GB each

Memory type DDR3 SDRAM

DDR3 - 1333 (667 MHz)

In total we get - 8 GB

Can be expanded up to 16 GB

Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M - 1GB

Realtek ALC269 @ Intel Panther Point PCH - High Definition Audio Controller

HDD

TOSHIBA MQ01ABD050

CD/DVD drive

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT70N

Network interface

Atheros AR1111 WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter

Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Agree, not bad at all. And imagine the price is a little more than 25 thousand rubles. I think you won’t find any closest competitors at this price. And this is another very good point GeForce video card 650 M - based on the new Kepler core.

The Kepler architecture is an evolutionary successor to the Fermi architecture, which first appeared in the 400M series laptops. The GK107 Kepler core includes two shader units, called SMX, each with 192 shaders, for a total of 384 shaders. Clock frequency, with which the shaders work, is the same as that of the central core. The Kepler architecture features big amount nuclei than Fermi. The graphics chip has a core frequency of 850 MHz, which is significantly higher than that of the 640M.

Point 5. Performance test in programs and games.

Let's start with what performance rating Windows 7 will give us

From the test we see that the weak point is HDD. Although for games this is not particularly critical.

And here is the result

Next, let's talk about games, I simply don't physically have enough time to check the performance in games, but judging by my experience, I say that all the latest games run on medium settings without brakes, most games are on on ultra settings.

Here is the performance of the video card in games - http://www.notebook-center.ru/video_372.html#games

We must also not forget to mention the power adapter; it is quite bulky, but the filling is not weak. It works all day long and barely gets hot.

The battery charge lasts about 3 hours.

Point 6. Conclusion and conclusions

Well, let’s summarize our conclusions. The result is a laptop with quite powerful hardware, with an FHD matrix, which shows good performance in both games and multimedia applications and at a fairly affordable price.

In terms of performance, this laptop can compete with home PCs.

Of course, it is necessary to note the quality of the materials used during assembly, as well as not the fastest hard drive.

The laptop is worth your attention and I think you will not regret the choice you made, and of course, if you are not a fan of brands.

The charged hatchback Mercedes-Benz A 35 AMG 4Matic 2019-2020 has been replenished. The new product will appear in live form at the October Paris Motor Show, and will go on sale on the European continent in January next year. The new hot hatch will be the youngest representative of the Mercedes line to receive the AMG prefix and, accordingly, the title of the most affordable creation of the German company’s court atelier.

The price of the new five-door Mercedes-AMG A 35, equipped with a powerful 2.0-liter turbo-four with an output of 306 hp. and a seven-speed “robot” Speedshift DCT 7G, will amount to preliminary estimates minimum 44 thousand euros. Mercedes will compete for the buyer with the Audi S3 and, each of which is equipped with a 310-horsepower unit. Interestingly, the newcomer with the index A 35 will take the place of the flagship of the A-class only for a while - until the release of the categorical Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG 4Matic, hiding under the hood a hurricane engine with a thrust of over 400 hp. and 500 Nm. This version, in turn, will compete with the BMW M140i xDrive.

Body design

From the outside, you can distinguish the “hot” hatchback A 35 AMG from the classic variations of the Mercedes A-Class by the special design of the radiator grille with a double horizontal bar, the front bumper with a splitter and lining next to the air duct sections, the side “skirts” with chrome decor, and a solid spoiler on the lid trunk, a redesigned rear bumper with a powerful diffuser and two exhaust pipes spaced at the edges.

Advanced Telemetry

The interior of the charged Mercedes-Benz A 35 AMG 4Matic hatchback has the same architecture as the rest of the A-class five-doors. But a number of interior elements, of course, received a specific design. Thus, the new product has acquired a special AMG steering wheel with a three-spoke configuration, a rim cut at the bottom, grip areas trimmed with perforated leather, and shiny gear shift paddles. At the same time, the A35 AMG sports seats are equipped with more prominent lateral support bolsters and are upholstered in Artico artificial leather combined with Dinamica microfiber.

A standard virtual cockpit consisting of two 10.25-inch instrument panel screens and the MBUX multimedia system, via special menus AMG provides additional on-board information. Digital combination devices displays data in three modes, and the main media center, when ordering the optional AMG Track Pace application, is able to record more than 80 different parameters characterizing the driving style (lap time, speed, lateral acceleration, etc.) Profiles of many famous tracks, such as the Nürburgring and Spa Francorchamps are already saved in the system, plus you can add your own tracks to everything.

Technical characteristics of Mercedes-Benz A 35 AMG 2019-2020

Engineers from the AMG division assigned the hot hatch a 2.0-liter M260 engine equipped with a dual-flow turbocharger, precision piezo injectors and a Camtronic valve control system. Maximum engine output is stated at 306 hp. and 400 Nm. The power unit is accompanied by a Speedshift DCT 7G robotic gearbox with two clutches. The 4Matic all-wheel drive includes an electromagnetic clutch to connect the rear axle. When starting from a standstill, the A35 AMG accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and the car's speed limit is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Engine 2.0 liter 306 hp

The lucky person behind the wheel of the hatchback will be able to choose one of five driving modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. The driver will also have switches on the central tunnel, one of which is responsible for controlling ESP. The stabilization system of the "thirty-five" has two settings - Basic and Advanced (AMG Dynamics function). The first program is designed for calm and measured driving (Slippery and Comfort modes), the second - for more dynamic driving (Sport and Sport+).

The chassis of the new Mercedes A 35 AMG received an original configuration with modified levers, modified springs and differently calibrated shock absorbers (adaptive dampers are offered as an option). The braking system, of course, is of increased efficiency: with front 350 mm and rear 330 mm perforated discs (four-piston and single-piston calipers, respectively). The steering is equipped by default with an electromechanical power steering, which gives the steering wheel different “heaviness” depending on the speed of the car.

Despite the fact that most people now listen to music on their smartphones, there is still a small segment of those who prefer to use a separate device for this purpose. And not just because you want to stand out, but because the sound quality in a device specially created for this purpose is higher than in some pop smartphone. Is this so, let's find out by example Sony Walkman NW-A35 player.

Equipment

I received a sample directly from Sony for testing, which is not intended for sale. This is eloquently evidenced by the very packaging of the device, or rather, the complete absence of any indication of what is inside.

But don't worry, the original box looks like this.

The set includes Sony MDR-NW750N headphones specially tailored specifically for our hero.

They cannot be connected to anything other than the player itself, because there is a special, multi-pin plug.

Fortunately, the player itself is perfectly compatible with any headphones. The main thing is that the plug has a cross-section of 3.5 mm.

The box also contained a cable for connecting to a USB charger (there is no power supply) or to a computer.

When unpacking, I had the feeling that it was now the mid-2000s, and not 2017, that is, the bright present, where unification led to the dominance of either Micro USB, or Type-C. I sincerely cannot imagine why Sony engineers dislike their users so much and force them to use proprietary connectors that no one needs.

The plug, by the way, can be connected from either side. Thanks for that at least.

The box should have had replacement ear pads (I didn’t have any) and a clothespin for attaching the dangling cable from the “ears” to the clothes. No, really, it’s 2005!

If anything, then these same headphones, which cannot be connected to anything other than a Sony player (they seem to fit Xperia smartphones), sold separately for about $100 somewhere on Amazon. But the most interesting thing is that the kit included the most ordinary silicone ear pads that cost... well, they cost nothing at all. This is an audiophile thing, the headphones are also not simple, and the earbuds are the most ordinary: without foam or any other really useful features for household use. But a small foam seal would add points in the fight against external noise, which is already the focus here.

Design

An uninitiated person will never believe you that Sony Walkman NW-A35 player came out in the second half of last year and now costs 18,000 rubles. It's all about his appearance and protruding physical buttons on the end, which make our hero a ghost from the past.

Here, in 2017, we have smartphones that are 5-6 millimeters thick, all so streamlined, frameless, but here you are! Sony Walkman NW-A35 - please love and favor.

On the background modern gadgets our hero really looks like a dinosaur.

On the other hand, the player does not strive to please everyone. This thing is for those who value sound quality and are ready to try out certain nuances of use: a separate device, wired connection for the highest quality sound, a very unique interface and so on. And with all this, the device is equipped with all the latest technological developments (Bluetooth, NFC, and so on), that is, this thing is still modern, albeit strange-looking.

The frame of the case is metal, but there are plastic inserts at the back and at the ends (top and bottom). A strange design decision that slightly worsens the perception. Yes, and small ones, but they still add cracks to the seemingly solid form factor.

On the right side there is a whole set of physical keys for controlling playback. The first impression was “Oh, horror! These are huge, protruding buttons, almost like on my cassette player from the 90s.”

Subsequently, you realize that using them to control the player is very convenient.

And it’s good that they stick out. A few minutes of getting used to and you don’t have to take out your device every time to switch to the next track. Poke it to the touch and it's done!

Among the physical keys there is a switch that blocks all presses. In general, everything, even the volume, cannot be adjusted when it is activated.

On the opposite side there is a slot for installing a Micro SD card. Without it, the player is not really needed, because it should be used to listen to music in an uncompressed format. You yourself know how much such files weigh, and therefore the built-in 16 GB memory will run out after downloading 9-10 albums of your favorite groups.

The synchronization port and 3.5 mm audio output are located at the bottom.

This is absolutely wild! Imagine a lanyard with a player hanging around your neck, and headphones with a cable folded in half - all this “beauty” gets in the way and gets tangled with any body movement. Mmm, wireless future! Although maybe in Japan that’s how they do it?

Most of the front surface is occupied by the display. This is a standard IPS matrix, with correspondingly good, but far from the best color reproduction and satisfactory viewing angles.

  • diagonal 3.1 inches
  • 800 x 480 resolution (more than enough)

The screen, of course, is touch-sensitive, but it still lacks sensitivity. For example, modern smartphones can be operated with ordinary gloves, but such a trick will not work with the NW-A35.

There are several colors found in nature. They are all cool and stylish. The Japanese, as always, have excellent taste in terms of color schemes.

If anything, the player cannot display images and videos. It was created only for music and nothing else. Suddenly someone had illusions about this.

Connection

Let's talk about how the player can be connected to a computer, and at the same time about ways to listen to music.

We connect the device to our PC using a proprietary cable. It is recognized as a regular flash drive. Special clients have already been downloaded into memory for the “correct” movement of music. There is a program for Windows and Mac. Windows users are luckier, because the MediaGo application is a whole multimedia combine with a bunch of special features.

The developers decided not to worry about the application for Mac OS and created a software crutch with an ugly interface called Content Transfer.

He transfers music, but only manually. Automatic export does not work, it gives some kind of vague error, saying that you are a fool. The utility also monitors the amount of built-in memory. This is where the functionality of the utility for Mac ends.

Important note. Files can be moved to memory just like on a flash drive, but the Hi-Res section on the player itself will then be empty. Everything must be done correctly, in accordance with the ritual.

I almost forgot. To update the player's firmware, you must again have a Windows computer and installed application MediaGo. If you have a Mac, like I do, then you're out of the woods. Excellent attitude towards the user who paid 18,000 rubles in 2017 for a device intended exclusively for listening to music.

Now about connecting headphones. If the latter are equipped with NFC, then the connection occurs in two seconds.

I tried it - everything is fine.

However, according to bluetooth headphones connect without problems. This path is just a little longer.

For my taste, use the player for wireless headphones, especially not from Sony - this is nonsense. This is due to the fact that there is no support for the fairly common aptX codec, but instead there is the unpopular Sony LDAC. Without it and compatible headphones (see from Sony) of the same quality wireless sound can be achieved from anyone modern smartphone costing from 5,000 rubles. Here's another limitation for you.

Interface and control

As software platform OS used on Linux based own production. Accordingly, the control and logic here are specific. No, for the most part there are no problems, it just takes getting used to what is where and what certain icons mean.

However, there are also illogical moments. For example, to find out how much memory is left, you need to go into the jungle of settings. Why can’t we display a nice strip somewhere or at least make a percentage display of this important parameter?

You shouldn't expect smooth animation and performance either.

The interface was clearly created for those who have a certain degree of patience. Clicked, wait, now you can click somewhere else. This doesn’t always happen, but from time to time the device begins to become dull.

About weirdness. If you are an audiophile, you would probably like to see somewhere in a prominent place the properties of what is being reproduced in this moment file. You'll get by! The only thing that is displayed on the playback screen is an icon indicating uncompressed audio with the symbols “HR”. For all other information you need to go to the context menu.

But the most impressive misunderstanding is the lack of ability to see the time.

It doesn't show up anywhere at all. In the parameters you can set the date and current time, but later it is nowhere to be found. Can you imagine?

Sound quality

Let's move on to the most interesting part. I've mentioned so many times throughout this review that the Sony Walkman NW-A35 is for those who want to truly high-quality sound. Does he really exist? Now we'll find out everything.

Disclaimer. In terms of quality sound, I also have fairly philistine requirements. I love good sound, but I will never be offended by listening to music through more or less passable headphones for 1,500 rubles (hello, Xiaomi Hybrid!) and (oh, my God!) from a smartphone. Yes, I hear the difference between the sound of the same iPhone and some device specially designed for listening to music, like the ZTE Axon 7. But, I repeat, you can live listening to music from a smartphone, and quite happily!

So, I decided to conduct a unique and daring experiment. I'll likely draw ire from hardened audiophiles, but I don't care.

I actually took our hero with the included headphones. This combination is presented by the manufacturer as the most successful, providing an excellent sound level. On the other hand, I took a smartphone and headphones. The first set costs 18,000 rubles, the second (budget smartphone + budget hybrid “ears”) will now cost around 6,000 rubles. And this is what came out of this comparison.

Walkman NW-A35 sounds about 20 percent better than a super budget phone from China. Yes, there is a difference. The sound, so to speak, is spacious, very informative, rich. However, I did not hear any revelation.

A cheap smartphone from Aliexpress + cheap headphones reproduce sound in general very well. Compared to the player, the sound is a little simpler and less informative. However, after 10 seconds you don’t notice the difference and enjoy the music.

This suggests a simple conclusion. The difference between a special device and a regular, even the cheapest smartphone is so small that I definitely wouldn’t bother buying a separate gadget for quite a lot of money. And the smartphone also has a built-in camera, supports two SIM cards, connects to the Internet and does all sorts of things.

By the way, the test was carried out while listening to the U2 album – Songs of innocence. The file parameters are as follows: FLAC, depth - 24 bits, sampling frequency - 96 kHz, bit rate 2990 kbps VBR.

Noise suppression

IN Sony headphones The MDR-1000X noise reduction was not perfect, but it still worked very well. This is not the case here. Low Frequencies They are cut off quite well by the player together with headphones, but the mid and high frequencies do not disappear at all.

If in the same 1000X, when the “noise reduction” is activated, external sounds are significantly reduced and begin to appear as if they are being reproduced from a recording from somewhere behind and below, then in our case they simply become a little quieter and cease to be so expressive.

Noice cancelling copes well with traffic noise.

For example, on the train in which I was “lucky” to travel recently, external low-frequency sounds disappeared, but the constantly rattling who knows what (Russian Railways, how else) did not disappear anywhere.

The noise suppressor cannot cope with such sounds.

There are several modes in the settings: automatic, bus/train, airplane and office. They are all the same, plus or minus. Equally weak.

Battery life

Of course, autonomy depends on the nuances of use, the content being played, the resistance of the headphones, the set volume and, of course, the noise reduction function. However, there is data from the manufacturer itself that you can trust plus/minus:

  • 45 hours of continuous MP3 playback without noise reduction activated
  • 39 hours of MP3 playback with noise reduction
  • 30 and 27 hours of playback of content in FLAC format (24 bit / 192 kHz) without and with noise reduction, respectively.

Bottom line

Sony Walkman NW-A35 review was a kind of experiment for me. Company representatives offered to test the player, and I agreed. I just wondered how much now, in 2017, when smartphones have finally reached quite decent heights in terms of sound quality, is it justified to buy a separate solution for listening to music.

My conclusion is simple: if you are satisfied with the sound of music through your usual smartphone, but you simply have nothing to do and want something more, then just give it up. Yes, the player offers better sound quality, but the difference even with the most budget smartphone so insignificant that there is no point in overpaying for it.

I won’t give any advice to audiophiles. I myself am not one of them; I don’t hear extraordinarily expressive sound scenes.

The only thing I can say. This applies to all readers. When planning to buy a Walkman NW-A35, be prepared for various usage nuances and limitations. This is the lack of compatibility, the sluggish system interface, and the actual uselessness of the Bluetooth protocol.

Let's not forget about the price. Now buy Sony Walkman NW-A35 possible for 18,000 rubles. Are you ready to put up with all the inconveniences and spend that amount of money for the sake of a little best quality sound compared to a regular smartphone?
