* - frequencies are allocated only for use in Moscow and the Moscow region.
** - the allocated channel width (7.5 MHz) does not correspond to the standard ones. You can use 5 MHz of them, for example, or you can negotiate with a “neighboring” operator and, by combining the two ranges, get a completely standard channel width of 15 MHz. And then use it using RAN Sharing technology.
*** - with the exception of the territory of Moscow, the Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

The appearance and dimensions of the TurboPhone4G Compact 2108 are standard for modern devices. The dimensions are quite comfortable - 131.3x65.3x8.8 mm, weight 137 grams. Considering the 4.5-inch screen, the smartphone can truly be called compact. It is comfortable to hold in your hands. There is no feeling of heaviness. If we talk about the convenience of carrying tight clothes in pockets, then there are no problems with this. The dimensions allow you to comfortably carry the device in the pockets of jeans, trousers, and shirts.
TurboPhone4G Compact 1210 has similar dimensions. True, it is 4 mm longer and 0.5 mm thinner.
TurboPhone4G 2209 is larger - 143.4x71.7x7.9 mm. It is longer, wider, but thinner than younger models. It fits well in the hand. From a convenience point of view, everything is fine.
Design, construction
id="sub2">Despite its simplicity and sleek design, TurboPhone4G Compact 2108 looks stylish and expensive. This is largely due to the high-quality plastic used in the construction of the case. The material is glossy on the front and matte on the back. There is a metallized insert on the sides.
There are two body color options available for sale - black and white.
On the front of the smartphone, in addition to the 4.5-inch screen, you can see a speaker for phone calls, position sensors, proximity sensors and front camera. Below the display there are three touch buttons device control. They are responsible for launching the running application manager and context menu, returning to the home screen and returning one level back. The markings are unobtrusive, but clearly visible.
The volume buttons and the power key are located on the left side. At the top you can see the microUSB connector for connecting the cable and charger. There is also an output for a wired headset.
On the bottom edge of the device there is a speaker for external calls. Its volume is average, quite consistent with the sound budget smartphones.
On the back of the smartphone there is a main 5 megapixel camera lens and an LED flash.
Under the cover there is a removable battery with a capacity of 1400 mAh. Here you can also see a SIM card slot and a compartment for a MicroSD memory card.
TurboPhone4G Compact 1210
TurboPhone4G Compact 1210 looks interesting due to its unusual back cover. It is made of matte plastic and imitates carbon coating. The side edges are painted with silver metal-like paint. It looks very stylish and fresh.
The placement of individual elements on the front of the case coincides with the first model. On the right side surface there are volume keys and a power button. At the top end there is a connector for a charger and connection to a computer, as well as a hole for connecting a wired headset.
On the back there is a camera and LED flash. At the bottom there is a speaker for playing external calls and music. The volume reserve is enough to hear an incoming call at a fairly large distance.
The back cover is attached securely. It's easy to remove. To do this, just find the recess in the bottom and pry off the cover. Under the cover there is a removable battery with a capacity of 1600 mAh. Here you can also see a SIM card slot and a compartment for a MicroSD memory card.
TurboPhone4G 2209
TurboPhone4G 2209 is slightly larger than its counterparts. It uses a 5-inch screen. The device itself has a rectangular shape, but its lower ends are slightly rounded. Overall, a classic.
The smartphone body is made entirely of plastic. The front part is glossy, and the back part is matte. The screen protection is good. However, it is better to keep your phone away from metal and sharp objects.
There are three body design options available for sale - white, black and gold.
As for the placement of individual elements, almost the entire front part of the device is occupied by a touch display. Above it is a speaker for voice calls. The front camera is located to the left. In addition, there is a motion and position sensor.
As for the controls, there is a power/lock screen button on the left side. The paired volume key is located on the right side. The button travel is hard, but very clear. I didn't find any discomfort.
At the bottom end there is a standard microUSB connector for charging and connecting to a computer. There is also a speaker for playing external signals. At the top end you can see a 3.5 mm hole for headphones.
The main 5 megapixel camera and LED flash are located on the back surface of the smartphone. Behind back cover The battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh is hidden. In addition, there is a slot for a SIM card and a slot for a MicroSD memory card.
I can praise the assembly. There were no questions for her in the test devices. The cases did not creak, the parts were fitted closely to each other. It can be seen that the plastic is not the most expensive, but durable and reliable .

id="sub3">TurboPhone4G Compact 2108 and TurboPhone4G Compact 1210 received identical 4.5-inch screens. The screen has a resolution of 480x854 pixels, 218 ppi. For a budget option, the characteristics are on par. Screen grain is not visible.
But the devices can be praised for using an IPS matrix. The viewing angles here, although not the greatest, are superior to budget phones like Fly, Samsung, Highscreen, etc. The display has high contrast. The sensor responds to touch clearly. Up to 10 clicks are recognized simultaneously.
The TurboPhone4G 2209 screen is larger - 5 inches, resolution 540x960 pixels. The screen displays the image well, the colors are bright, and the contrast is high. It is comfortable to watch movies, read news sites, communicate on in social networks.

id="sub5">To play music, there is a standard player with a minimum number of settings in the form of preset equalizer values. There is an FM radio and a voice recorder. The standard headset is included in the package. Thanks to the 3.5 mm jack, you can choose any headphones.
Photo and video capabilities
id="sub6">The main camera in smartphones is 5-megapixel with fixed autofocus and flash. The camera is quite simple, but quite suitable for everyday shots; in good lighting it takes very decent photos.
The camera control menu is very simple in its capabilities and interface. It is completely identical to Android. Besides normal mode During filming, you can use some additional effects.
As for video, the camera shoots in a resolution of 1280x720 pixels at a speed of up to 30 frames per second. Optical stabilization there is no way to shoot video at 60 fps. For amateur photography this will be more than enough.
TurboPhone4G 2209 and TurboPhone4G Compact 1210 have a two-megapixel front camera with fixed focus. She shoots surprisingly well. For a budget device this is generally good. Definitely suitable for selfies.
The TurboPhone4G Compact 2108 has a much more modest front camera. It shoots in VGA resolution. The quality is not ideal, although it is enough for video calls.

All devices despite different Hardware work stably. During testing, no critical slowdowns or freezes were noticed. The user interface works smoothly. Applications launch in 3-4 seconds.
Watching YouTube videos in maximum quality occurs with rare delays and there are no frame drops. If you watch a video in average quality, the smartphone works without any glitches at all. The devices performed well in the pre-installed games. For state employees, the productivity is very, very high.
Built-in memory for data storage in both models is 8 GB. Initially, about 4.5 GB is available to the user. The memory can be expanded using microSD cards - up to 32 GB.
Communication capabilities
id="sub8">Without exception, all models are equipped with an LTE module, which is rare for state employees today. The devices operate in 2G and 4G networks (FDD-LTE Band 3). By the way, not long ago MOTIV completed the main stage of network construction fourth generation throughout the licensed territory. Now almost 90% of residents of the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions, Ugra and Yamal can use high-speed mobile Internet. The speed test results impressed us.
With this speed, you can instantly open any web pages, watch HD videos online, listen to music and work with other heavy content without any problems.
In addition, smartphones support Bluetooth version 4.0 for file and voice transfer. There is Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. The devices, of course, can be used as an access point or modem. In the settings, this item is listed as “Modem mode”.
Smartphones have support for GPS and A-GPS, which means that the device can be turned into a full-fledged navigator. A “cold” start (without using a mobile network) of the navigation application occurs in 3-4 minutes, a “hot” start (with a mobile network) - up to 10 seconds.
Duration of work
id="sub9">The TurboPhone4G Compact 2108 smartphone received a 1400 mAh battery. That's not a lot. However, the hardware used, unlike more advanced models, does not consume as much energy. In addition, a smaller diagonal screen consumes less electricity. Because of this, the device is able to work longer.
With an average load - about 30 minutes of calls, LTE constantly turned on, listening to music for about 2 hours, periodic communication on social networks and the Internet - the TurboPhone Compact 2108 works for about a day. With less load, the device can last up to two days.
TurboPhone4G Compact 1210 was equipped with a 1600 mAh battery. The operating time of this device does not differ much from the first model. When using mobile Internet, the device will have to be charged once every day and a half.
TurboPhone4G 2209 has lithium-ion battery capacity 2000 mAh. One charge is enough for a day, maybe a day and a half, but this is with an average load. The maximum consumption is for the screen, games and surfing through mobile network. These are the tasks that consume the most energy.
If we go into detail, when playing video with maximum screen brightness and active LTE/Wi-Fi, the operating time was 4 hours 10 minutes, in GPS navigation mode - 3 hours. These are average figures for modern devices. The battery can be fully charged in two hours.

id="sub10">It's hard to expect from budget smartphones high performance, rich functionality and pleasant appearance. But TurboPhone4G 2209, TurboPhone4G Compact 1210 and TurboPhone4G Compact 2108 destroy this stereotype. They have 4G, all the devices look good and have an excellent build.
Perhaps the main thing you pay attention to is the user interface, which does not slow down and works smoothly. “Iron” copes with its responsibilities almost 100%. We were also pleased with the screens. They clearly convey colors and have a high contrast margin.
The Russian company Motiv provides services cellular communications only in some regions of the country, but, nevertheless, it is constantly expanding the area of its activities, trying to gain federal significance. Such total plans can only be realized if consumers are taken care of.
The strategy of the presented operator is a tireless desire to make the use of its services extremely convenient for the subscriber. This desire is expressed in many aspects, but first of all it concerns profitable tariff plans and automation of the process of setting up basic options, such as network access. Exactly how to connect the Internet on Motive and what tariff plan Today's article will tell you what to choose.
If the user has already tried to activate Internet access from any Russian operator, then he knows well that all the settings for accessing the network are sent to his smartphone automatically, immediately after installing the SIM card in the configured gadget. All that is required from the subscriber is simply to save them.
In a situation where the settings were not automatically sent to the gadget, you can order them from the Motiv operator. To do this you need to dial mobile device command # # 919, and then send a call. All settings will be sent.
Important! You should not send a request multiple times, this will only significantly prolong their waiting period.
Another option is to receive the required information on your email. To do this, you need to send a notification to 0111, which indicates the model of the mobile gadget, the name of the option that needs to be configured, and, of course, your email address.
In a few minutes you will receive an email with all the configured parameters. They are entered into the gadget manually.
Manual setup
There are times when the settings that came automatically cannot be saved, or their installation does not solve the problem with network access. The solution is simple - create a new profile, manually entering into it all the data necessary for Internet access.
When a consumer uses a gadget running on Android, he needs to carry out the following operations:
- APN – inet.ycc.ru
- Name – MOTIV
- Username – motiv
- Password is also the word motiv
Next, you need to save the entered parameters and try to see if the network connection is working. If there is still no access, you should contact support. To do this, you need to call the service number 111 and explain your problem to the operator.
For tablet PCs and iOS devices, exactly the same parameters are entered.
We figured out how to set up the Internet. Next, the subscriber needs to do right choice tariff plan and connect it to your SIM card. We advise you to decide for what purposes you need Mobile Internet, for example, just to read news and check email, or communicate on social networks and watch videos. The Swedish company Ericsson has built an LTE network for the regional operator Motiv. The company plans to launch this network into commercial operation in the fall.
The Ericsson press service announced the construction of a 4G network yesterday. Motiv has prepared fragments of the fourth generation network for launch in the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions, the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs.
“In the near future, we plan to begin providing services on the 4G network in Yekaterinburg and satellite cities, as well as in Nizhny Tagil, Kurgan, Surgut and Salekhard. By the end of autumn, we will provide high-speed Internet to several more settlements in all regions of our presence. We will provide not selective, but the most complete coverage LTE networks in every locality,” Motiv spokeswoman Alena Yarushina noted in a conversation with a ComNews reporter. She did not disclose the amount of investment in the construction of the LTE network.
In turn, the Ericsson press service refrained from specifying how many base stations the company built.
According to Alena Yarushina, the number of potential 4G users directly depends on the number of subscriber devices that support this technology. Unfortunately, on this moment There are not many such devices, and their cost is quite high, she added. “Therefore, for now we are counting exclusively on the most advanced users, the so-called innovators. With the advent of budget equipment on the market, the number of high-speed Internet users will increase significantly,” said Alena Yarushina.
"Motiv" can count on attracting several tens of thousands of LTE users - no more than 3% of subscribers from its existing base of GSM subscribers (2.4 million) during the first year after the launch of a commercial 4G network, the head of the department believes wireless technologies J`son & Partners Consulting Vitaly Solonin.
“In the longer term, the growth of the 4G subscriber base is possible due to the expansion and reduction in price of LTE subscriber devices, primarily smartphones. At the same time, competition with federal operators will increase,” Vitaly Solonin noted in an interview with ComNews.
OJSC VimpelCom is still preparing for the full launch of LTE networks in these regions (in the Sverdlovsk, Kurgan regions, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs). “In Yekaterinburg, for example, the network is in test operation. In the Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs we plan to begin providing 4G services this winter,” a VimpelCom representative specified in an interview with ComNews.
OJSC MegaFon has already launched its fourth generation network in 28 settlements of the Sverdlovsk region. “LTE from MegaFon is also available in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug,” company spokeswoman Olesya Yaremenko added in a conversation with a ComNews reporter.
"LTE networks of Mobile TeleSystems OJSC in the Ural Federal District operate in the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen regions. In the fall we will launch networks in the Perm Territory and Kurgan Region, in the fourth quarter - in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs, - in In turn, Dmitry Solodovnikov, head of the MTS media relations department, explained to the ComNews reporter: “Moreover, at launch, MTS provides the most complete coverage in the region, covering all central and densely populated areas and large cities in the region.”
Ericsson also carried out work to modernize Motiv's existing GSM network. "Modernization works existing network GSM and optimizing the use of the frequency spectrum are already underway,” said Alena Yarushina. - The main difficulty we encountered during the construction of LTE networks was the lack of transport resources in small settlements: for high-quality operation of the new generation network, it is necessary to strengthen our own network of fiber-optic communication channels. This is a rather lengthy process. However, by the end of 2015, we plan to build an LTE network in the main settlements, where about 80% of the population of the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs live."
In addition, as part of the agreement between Ericsson and Motive, the Swedish company offered the operator a solution to optimize the use of the frequency spectrum in the 1800 MHz band. Ericsson's spectrum optimization solution enables services to be launched mobile transmission LTE network data using the frequency resource available to the operator. High quality of services and capacity are ensured through the use of base stations of the RBS 6000 family, which allow simultaneous operation of LTE and GSM technologies,” Ericsson said in a statement.
According to the first deputy general director telecommunications group "Motiv" Mikhail Kamenskov, this technological solution will meet the growing needs of subscribers for high-speed mobile Internet without losing the quality of voice services.
“The quality of the network is of key importance in the context of the transition to next-generation cellular communication services that require the transmission of large volumes of traffic. Our solution will allow Motiv to provide its subscribers with advanced broadband mobile Internet access services,” said Ericsson Vice President for business development with telecom operators in Russia and the CIS countries Zoran Lukovich.
According to Vitaly Solonin, thanks to its long presence on the market (since 1996), due to low and understandable tariffs, Motiv manages to maintain a leading position (about 50% of the market in terms of the number of active subscribers) in terms of the subscriber base in the Sverdlovsk region (in this more than 95% of the operator’s subscriber base is concentrated in the region). The development of LTE networks is a logical step to retain the operator’s subscriber base in the region in the face of increasing competition in the segment of mobile broadband Internet access (broadband) in the medium and long term, said Vitaly Solonin.
“Motive has been operating in other regions not so long ago, about two years, and has not yet managed to occupy a significant market share. It is unlikely that the launch of LTE networks in these regions will significantly affect the balance of power, according to at least in the short term. In any case, competition will intensify,” concluded Vitaly Solonin in an interview with ComNews.
Today the data transfer speed in cellular network is one of the main factors of competition, said Evgeniy Evdokimenko, head of the research direction of ComNews Research. According to him, the use of technology LTE standard will allow Motive to provide significantly more high speeds data transfer compared to GPRS and EDGE technologies used in 2G networks. “So, in an LTE network, in a channel to a subscriber with a width of 5 MHz, it is theoretically possible to achieve a speed of 36 Mbit/s. This is almost two orders of magnitude greater than the maximum theoretical speed under the EDGE protocol in a 2G network,” noted Evgeniy Evdokimenko.
The 1800 MHz band is the most effective for LTE networks, in turn, added the President of the Association of Regional Telecom Operators (AROS) Yuri Dombrovsky. According to him, for a long time in our country it was allowed only for GSM networks, and only last year’s December decision of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies allowed the use of this technology.
Yuri Dombrovsky is heartily happy about the next success of “Motive”. It is extremely important that the coating new network LTE will be no worse in all regions of the Federation than existing GSM networks, he emphasized.
"A very modern and technological solution. The operators have " big three"The gap in these coverages is multiple. Please note that this is the third launch of the LTE network by regional operators in Russia (we are talking about companies such as SMARTS and Vainakh Telecom - Note ComNews), which indicates their flexibility, speed of reaction, and financial well-being,” Yuri Dombrovsky concluded in an interview with ComNews.
