Mobile communications in Yalta. A new mobile operator has launched in Crimea. Prospects for full-fledged work of cellular operators in Crimea

What kind of cellular communication is there in Crimea 2019, what telecom operators work in Crimea, how much does mobile communication cost in Crimea 2019? When going on vacation in Crimea, you should take care of good cellular communications and the Internet if you need them on your trip. It’s better not to rely on “maybe”, because here everything is not the same as in Russia as a whole, tariffs are different, there is roaming, and bills can cost thousands of rubles. Also second important point— study the information about, here too there are differences from the mainland and there are no ATMs of Sberbank and VTB. I also recommend downloading the Travellinka branded map of Crimea to your phone. To work, you don’t need the Internet, you don’t consume traffic on your phone, the map determines the location via satellite and plots the route; beaches, attractions, hotels, and cafes are marked on it.

For those who are not aware, Crimea is an unrecognized territory for the whole world (except for Russia), therefore the activities of companies in this territory are subject to sanctions. Only companies that operate exclusively in Russia are not afraid of sanctions. But mobile communications in Crimea and the usual operators also work outside of Russia, so they do not officially enter Crimea and provide services as in roaming ( except for MTS, they are apparently fearless).

From June 1, all operators will cancel roaming throughout Russia, including Crimea and Sevastopol.

Cellular operators in Crimea

Service companies we know mobile communications in Crimea they work differently than on the mainland. Perhaps all sorts of sanctions played a role, or maybe not, but this remains a fact. For example, the mobile communication we are used to in Crimea is Beeline, Megafon and Tele-2 does not have any additional options for the region. You will not be able to purchase SIM cards from these companies; you will not have tariffs and promotions calculated for connections in the Russian Federation; clients of these operators will be in internal roaming, And Phone calls will cost much more.

What kind of connection works in Crimea

Of the Russian operators on the Crimean peninsula, only MTS works well. This has already been proven over the years, there is no need to invent anything new. In addition to the fact that “Smart” tariffs have free calls on MTS and the included Internet package, on other tariffs you can connect additional packages services for movement in the region you are interested in (Crimea).

There are also own companies mobile communications in Crimea: Volna, Krymtelecom, Win Mobile (K-Telecom), Sevmobile (works well only in Sevastopol and the surrounding area). These companies are not afraid of sanctions, but for other Russians they are not familiar and do not operate outside the territory of Crimea - you need to buy a separate SIM card.

Mobile communications in Crimea 2019 - mobile internet

Regarding connecting to the Internet network for mobile devices, then on the Crimean peninsula the functions 3G and 4G can be found through companies WinMobile(almost every Russian cellular company within roaming boundaries is connected to this company) and Wave(using it, MTS connects to the Internet). In Sevastopol, 3G is offered by Sevmobile, and throughout the Crimea - by Krymtelecom. The media said that the entire peninsula would be connected to 3G and 4G networks in 2019. Last year, a connection was noticed at the new airport of Simferopol and major cities LTE.

We hope this article will help you do right choice, regarding the selection of a suitable cellular operator for you. Have a nice holiday!

they do not work quite the same way as in other regions of Russia, due to fear of sanctions (and maybe for other reasons) Megafon, Beeline and TELE-2 do not work on the peninsula, i.e. you cannot buy their SIM cards and their promotions and tariffs intended for communications within the borders of the Russian Federation are not valid; subscribers of these operators find themselves in intranet roaming, which leads to an increase in the cost of their services.

At the end of December, the State Duma adopted a bill to abolish national roaming, including Crimea. And incoming calls from June 1, 19 should become free.

MTS in Crimea

From all-Russian telecom operators in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol only MTS works, Moreover, you can not only buy a SIM card on the spot upon arrival, but also apply for the corresponding Additional services for traveling around Russia in your home region.

MTS in Crimea 2018-2019

Since MTS operates in Crimea, you have two options: buy a local SIM card upon arrival or use a SIM card purchased in your home region.

MTS in Crimea belongs to the region “Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea” and offers several Smart tariffs, all of them include Internet packages, unlimited calls to MTS numbers in the region, packages of minutes for calls and packages of SMS.

If you buy a SIM card in Crimea, then

It's best to take Smart tariffs and Tariffishche. Get plenty of internet and hundreds of included minutes per number home region.

When you arrive in Crimea, the connection network will not be MTS, but K-telecom or Winmobile

It is worth noting that buying a SIM card in Crimea is not easy, for example, there are almost no official MTS offices in the region, and cards are sold second-hand, and there are official Win Mobile offices only in large cities. MTS salons can be found in Sevastopol and Simferopol.

Hello everyone, my dears! I don’t like to write about the negative, but it’s better to be prepared for the bad than to unexpectedly face it. Today I will tell you what cellular communication is like in Crimea, why everything is bad with it, and what a tourist needs to do.

Let me make a reservation right away that our trip took place in May 2015, but at the time of writing the article the information remains relevant. So...

In this article:

What is the main problem of communication in Crimea

When we went to Crimea, we did not suspect that buying a card would be SO bad. Yes, and this is the main problem we encountered: to buy a SIM card you need to try very hard.

We disembarked from the ferry onto the peninsula at night. At the same moment, our beeline stopped working. All communication shops in Kerch are, of course, closed. We decided that we would buy a SIM card in Sevastopol, but when we arrived there, we had to look for SIM cards for about 2 hours!

How it was.

We stopped in a fairly busy place: a small shopping center, many shops, a vegetable market. By a certain logic, we decided that somewhere in all this diversity, SIM cards should be sold. Well, simply because in such places we always have a small cell phone store, counter or something similar.

I'm not even talking about the fact that in such busy places there can be several of them in different salons at once.

But this was not the case here. We went into shops, salons with telephones, pavilions at bus stops. NOTHING. We asked sellers where you can buy a SIM card. They were just thinking and couldn’t say anything, but at the same time everyone had a smartphone in their hand. The question “where did you personally buy your SIM card?” also remained unanswered.

But we couldn’t give up; we had to contact the owner of the guest house where we later lived.

I remember that we went to the Technopoint store, where we were sent to a shopping center, which was located on the ground floor of a neighboring house. Here we found a point that, in addition to the main goods (electronics and other things), sold SIM cards. True, we had to wait until the seller returned from lunch, but this did not scare us.

As a result, after half an hour the card was in our hands, or rather, in our phone.

Then, when we got to know the city better, we noticed that there were cell phone stores, but there were really few of them. After this, I want to bow to the owners of the Svyaznoy network, Euroset, MTS and others, for the fact that they are 5 minutes from my house and any stop. This is a real thank you to you.

But let's go back to the moment where we were near the pavilion and purchased a SIM card. We were offered a choice of 2 operators: MTS and WIN. Let me tell you briefly about each.

Which operators are currently working in Crimea

1. MTS

I’ll say right away that I haven’t seen MTS stores in Crimea, but instead of them you can meet people on the streets who sell SIM cards directly from the table. During the season they can be found on Nakhimov Avenue and Lenin Street.

Now about the prices. MTS seemed to us more profitable at that time for calls within Russia than its competitor. The tariff was called “Super-MTS” Krasnodar region:

  • a SIM card costs 50 rubles and they immediately appear on your account
  • calls within Crimea and Krasnodar 20 minutes a day free, then 0.5 rubles per minute
  • calls to Russia cost 10 rubles per minute, but you can activate the “Favorite Country” service for 50 rubles per month, and calls will cost 3.5 rubles per minute
  • As for the Internet, here you also need to connect a package, otherwise it’s expensive.

I don’t know if it’s possible to buy MTS in advance in Russia, go to an MTS communication store and find out there. I admit honestly, I tried to find out this issue through the support service, but:

  • MTS does not distribute information about tariffs in Crimea on its website.
  • To get through to them, I had to hang on the line for 1.5 hours, after which the call was interrupted, this is really tough.

2.WIN

The salons of this operator can be found on the streets of Sevastopol. Not very often, but still. You can view the rates at his official website.

Below I will briefly list the cost of calls to Russia using the “Freedom of Communication” tariff:

  • a SIM card costs 50 rubles and this amount appears on the account
  • calls to Russia cost 9.5 rubles per minute, but you can activate the “My Russia” service, which costs 15 rubles one-time + 2 rubles subscription fee per day, but calls will cost 2 rubles per minute.
  • Calls to Krasnodar region and Crimea cost 1 ruble per minute
  • Internet 10 rubles per 1 MB, but you can connect packages with subscription fee from 3 rubles per day.

In general, if I chose this operator, it would be only because of the Internet. He has an interesting tariff called “Fast and Furious,” which we didn’t pay attention to at the time. Pay 400 rubles per month and you have 5 GB of daytime and 5 GB of nightly Internet, that is, 10 GB of Internet! You can simply call on Skype, Viber and communicate via social media. But calls in this case will be expensive.

3. Beeline

Beeline for Crimea offers to connect the “My Country” service. Naturally, you need to connect it in advance, before entering the peninsula. So, how much does roaming cost:

  • connecting to the service costs 25 rubles
  • incoming calls for 1 minute cost 3 rubles, for subsequent ones - free
  • outgoing within Russia - 3 rubles per minute
  • SMS within Russia - 3 rubles per minute

In addition, in order to roam, you must have a certain amount of money in your account. If my memory serves me right - 500 rubles. But in my opinion, for calls this is one of the best and easiest options. As for the Internet, everything is not so rosy here - 10 rubles per 1 MB.

Let me summarize briefly. If it is important for you to be in touch immediately after crossing the bay, you need to worry about a SIM card in advance: either it will be MTS or Beeline with roaming. If this is not important for you, you can buy a SIM card on the spot, in the salon. At the moment, I would prefer the Internet tariff from WIN.

Here's a review, my dears. I really hope you found this article helpful. I'm waiting for your comments and questions, ask, we'll figure it out together. In addition, I suggest you read the article about

Crimea is a wonderful place not only for a summer holiday on the Black Sea coast. The peninsula contains picturesque places and beautiful cultural sites that are worth seeing. But in view of recent events, many are asking the question: “Which cellular operators work in Crimea and what is the situation with telephone conversations and the Internet from the Big Three?"

We will analyze each operator available on the peninsula separately and in more detail, so that everyone can decide for themselves whether to take a SIM card with them convenient tariff from your favorite provider or take care of changing it in advance.

Megaphone

From Megafon it allows you to connect a special option “Crimea” (incompatible with the “Around the World” tariff plan). It operates throughout the entire Crimean Peninsula and in the surrounding area, provided that the subscriber is located in cellular network mobile provider "K-Telecom", that is, with the WIN MegaFon identifier on the screen of your gadget. In order to find out what cellular communication works in Crimea and specifically on your phone, you need to go to the gadget settings and in the menu items responsible for reception, select “select current provider” (menu branches may differ depending on the operating system).

Naturally, the “Crimea” option cannot be used for ordinary calls to numbers Ukrainian operators communications. In this case, calls will be billed according to standard tariff for roaming: 35 rubles per minute of conversation and 6 rubles per sent short message.

Reviews and prices

The feedback from Megafon is not very good: many are not satisfied with the spotty coverage: the signal seems to be good, but while you walk the same 100 meters, the connection will either disappear or appear, and so on throughout the entire peninsula. And “Personal Account” is very reluctant (for some reason) to change services and tariffs from one to another.

The prices from the company are not very encouraging: 10 rubles per megabyte of traffic is too expensive. And judging by the type of cellular communication in Crimea from Megafon (frequent interruptions, delays and high cost), it is better to take a closer look at a more loyal operator. Nevertheless, the company promises to soon “fix” all the critical shortcomings, but ardent fans of the “green” can only wait patiently.

"Beeline"

Cellular communications in Crimea from Beeline are provided on the basis of the same K-Telecom network as part of intranet roaming. Last year, the company launched the “Goodbye Roaming” campaign for “All for...” tariff plans, thanks to which roaming was disabled throughout the Russian Federation. But there is one catch: the Kamchatka region, together with the Crimean peninsula, are included in the list of exceptions, so the usual rules apply in these territories. intranet roaming according to standard tariffs.

But fans should not be disappointed - for all those who like to travel around Russia, and Crimea in particular, there is special option- “My Country”, which, judging by the reviews, can quite compete with other providers.

Cellular communications in Crimea with the “My Country” option are provided under the following conditions:

  • connection - 25 rubles (one-time payment);
  • 3 rubles per minute of incoming call for the first minute, subsequent time is not charged (free);
  • 3 rubles per minute of outgoing call with per-minute billing;
  • 3 rubles for outgoing short message;
  • incoming SMS - free;
  • There is no subscription fee.

Just like other cellular operators in Crimea, Beeline provides the “Personal Account” service, where you can easily enable or disable this option. You can also call the call center support center at 0611 if you have any difficulties with your “Personal Account”.

Internet

For lovers World Wide Web the company offers two options to choose from - “Internet Planet” and “The Most profitable Internet in roaming" with prepayment and postpayment, respectively. Both tariffs do not require any manipulation in the same “Personal Account” (activation/deactivation) and are connected when the device is roaming. The price of a standard 30 MB package will cost 150 rubles; after exceeding the traffic limit, you will have to buy additional megabytes at 5 rubles per unit.

If cellular communications in Crimea are used mainly for surfing, then it makes sense to connect to the “Internet Roaming Week” service, where 300 MB of traffic is provided for seven days. If you were unable to meet the weekly deadline and ran out of traffic earlier, then the cost of each subsequent megabyte will have to be paid at 5 rubles per 1 MB.

User opinions

User reviews about the Crimean Beeline are twofold: it seems comfortable to talk, and the tariffs are more or less acceptable, but the Internet very often freezes, lags and generally behaves somehow strangely, and such a “bouquet” can be obtained even while sitting under a tower operator, which is very strange. Nevertheless, there are a lot of Beeline fans and users on the peninsula, but the company is still inferior in popularity to the next respondent.

Crimea, cellular communications: MTS

Owners of SIM cards from MTS, when they enter, are automatically transferred to the home roaming zone, which entails a significant increase in communication prices. For such cases, the company actively advertises a very interesting service “Everywhere at home.” The main and extremely useful advantage of this service is free incoming calls from any Russian region. The outgoing minute tariff in this case will be 3 rubles. For connection you will have to pay 30 rubles once and pay daily depending on the location of the main SIM card (for example, Moscow - 7 rubles/day).

It is worth noting separately that the service is not disabled in automatically, even when the subscriber returned to his home region. You can remove the service by using " Personal account"or by sending a short message to number 111 with the text 3333 (USSD request - *111*3333#).

Also, for those who receive incoming calls more often than outgoing calls, it would be useful to familiarize yourself with the option “ United country”, where, by analogy with “Everywhere at home”, incoming calls are not charged, but, unlike the latter, it is possible to work with all tariff plans, and this, judging by user reviews, is a significant plus. You can activate the service by dialing *808# or USSD combination - *111*808#.

Access to the Internet

As for the tariffs for mobile Internet, judging by the numerous laudatory reviews, they are the most “delicious” here. It is enough to use the convenient service “SuperBIT”, which operates throughout Russia. Instead of any daily surfing limits, the company offers a 3GB monthly package. The price tag may vary slightly and depends on the home region of the SIM card: Moscow - 350 rubles/month, and regions - about 200 rubles/month. You can activate the option using the combination *628#. Before performing any actions to connect, be sure to check which cellular operator in Crimea is currently available to you, so that there are no misunderstandings later.

Summarizing

In terms of mobile communications, the Crimean Peninsula still stands apart. And even “ Big Three» is forced to fulfill its obligations to subscribers through the Crimean provider WinMobile.

As company representatives explain, they are simply afraid of sanctions from the European Union: if a domestic Russian network “enters” the territory of the Crimean Peninsula, this is fraught with significant losses and significant fines. Therefore, until the boom around Crimea subsides and the corresponding amendments are adopted, there can be no talk of high-quality and affordable communications.

Nevertheless, the “troika” promises to resolve the situation by next season and provide its clients with accessible, and most importantly, high-quality communications, so that the residents of our huge country can take full advantage of all the advantages and benefits of civilization. We hope that this will be the case.

In March 2014, well-known events took place - the Crimean Peninsula again returned to Russia. And in connection with this, some changes have occurred in many areas of life of Crimeans. This did not bypass Crimean mobile communications either.
