Laptop asus k95vb description. Asus K95VB: reviews and specifications. Laptop screen: reviews

Problem solved

Pros: i7 Processor 3630qm - with very good performance. 8gb RAM. 18.4 inches screen. Disadvantages: 3 TB data storage screw. - very poor quality, one died after 2 years, the other after 3. At the same time backup copies There is no data from these screws. Crying wedding photos and videos. Video card. 740m 2 gb. - significantly worse than 9600 gtx with 512mb. Not a game at all. The display turned red after 2 years; color calibration is not really possible. And for dessert, dancing with a tambourine, after updating the BIOS to version 209. At first everything worked, but in one of them the 3t screw died. in another I decided to change the starting one to an SSD. And the computers just died. Bios contained new technology working with screws (I mean only with relatives). But since after filling it in, problems did not arise immediately, but at the moment the operation of the screws changed, I didn’t immediately realize that the computer suddenly crashed wildly because of the BIOS. Bought new ssd, transfer the OS, disassembled the laptop, took out the battery, replaced the screw with the SSD, reassembled it, pressed the power button and the black screen, and the laptop didn’t react to anything, returning the old screw didn’t do anything, the computer hung. For the second one, when the screw failed, the computer simply started rebooting endlessly until the screw was removed. For a whole year I suffered with a long start, I turned on the computer and waited 10-30 minutes for it to wake up, then everything worked fine. There was no way to roll back to BIOS 208; all methods to rewrite the BIOS were unsuccessful. I returned to this problem more than once, and finally on one of the forums I found a directive for launching the WinFlash utility from command line/nodate, which allowed you to roll back the Bios. And ASUS support couldn't say anything about this. Comment: I used two of these laptops. I'm completely disappointed in the laptop. For the most part, the disappointment is to blame for the buggy Bios 209, and the poor quality of the components Display and screw 3t.

Problem solved

Pros: I didn't buy it for gaming. Mainly for photo processing. I don’t want to install a tower, because... I work mostly at night in the kitchen, and during the day my little children will quickly destroy the tower. So I took this one. Large monitor. Comfortable keyboard. Two hards. Photoshop and Lightroom are happy) Large touchpad, but not relevant to me, I use an external mouse. With intensive work, the battery honestly lasts 3-3.5 hours. Very quiet. The sound is normal, it was not created for listening to classical works. Disadvantages: The lid is very easily soiled. Win 8, I think this is a minus, why pay for it? Give me a disk with firewood for different operating systems and the people will thank Azus. The drive is not Blu-ray. The case creaks under your left hand when you type, I just noticed it now. Only 2 pieces of USB 3.0 are not good! The display has really small viewing angles, and it’s also glossy. Now I’m choosing a matte protective film for 18". Comment: I doubted it for a long time, but in its price range, it is probably the leader. The large display and a good processor are captivating. Ketaytsi installed Win 8 on a 3TB hard drive. At the same time, they divided it into 4 partitions. What for?? ? I stupidly removed 750GB (it goes as disk 2) and instead installed a 180GB SSD and installed Windows 7. I'm glad I did! I installed the OS on the SSD, and 3TB for data (well, I have a lot of photos). pay off a lot fast work in my favorite Lightroom))

Characteristics: reviews from users and experts

How do users and experts evaluate the specified hardware capabilities of the laptop? Reviews ( specifications- in most cases become a fairly objective indicator of the device’s capabilities) allow us to say that laptop owners view it as generally corresponding to the tasks for which it is optimized based on its positioning in the market. A typical desktop is used as a tool for processing files in various formats, running not the most demanding games, and programming. These tasks can be successfully solved using the laptop in question - its hardware capabilities are sufficient for this.

The most impressive characteristics of a laptop, according to users and experts, are its exceptional volume HDD(there are, in principle, very few solutions on the market with a similar resource), a sufficient amount of RAM, and also a very powerful video card.

The successful solution of many user tasks will certainly be facilitated by the large screen of the device, as well as sufficient powerful processor: In natural overclocking mode, it can reach frequencies of about 3.2-3.4 GHz. Although the standard frequency of the chip is certainly enough to run popular applications and games.

What specific tasks is the Asus K95VB laptop best suited for? Reviews and characteristics suggest that the device is optimal for working with text, graphic data, almost any type of online content, programming, developing mobile 2D and simple 3D applications, running not the most demanding games - but in a wide range of genres, watching and editing films, listening and editing audio files.

The laptop can be characterized as a universal and sufficiently productive device, suitable both for working at home and for use in solving various corporate tasks.

Processor and video card

Depending on the modification, the laptop in question may be equipped with Intel processor Core i7-3630QM, with 4 cores, 6 MB cache, built-in Intel HD 4000 graphics processing module and operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz with overclocking capabilities regular means up to 3.4 GHz or an Intel Core i5-3230M chip, which has 2 cores, a similar graphics processing module, and operates at a frequency of 2.6 GHz, in normal overclocking mode - 3.2 GHz.

Thus, the presence of a graphics module in the structure of the Asus K95VB processor - expert reviews can confirm this - determines the optimization of the laptop’s energy consumption when processing images in ordinary applications, as well as in many undemanding games. But if necessary, the performance of the corresponding hardware component can be supplemented with a discrete resource graphics adapterNVIDIA GeForce GT740M, which has 2 GB of its own RAM.

RAM and hard drive

Regarding the amount of RAM on motherboard laptop, then it is, again, depending on the modification of the device, 6-8 GB. At the same time, if necessary RAM Asus K95VB devices - user reviews regarding this feature can be the most positive, it can be increased to 16 GB.

The device is equipped with 2 hard drives: depending on the modification, their total volume can be huge even by the standards of modern laptops - about 4 TB. At the same time, both hard drives have decent rotation speeds - 7200 rpm, thanks to which files can be written and read at high speed.

Screen

The laptop is equipped with a fairly large diagonal - 18.4 inches, widescreen display. The device is characterized by excellent brightness, contrast and color rendition. It is capable of generating an image with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. Thus, it is suitable for solving a wide range of tasks that characterize the use of a laptop in both home and office environments.

Laptop screen: reviews

The laptop screen is considered by users and experts as one of its most competitive hardware components. This can be seen primarily at the level of its basic characteristics- diagonals and resolutions. Not every modern laptop and, moreover, desktop can have similar ones. Large diagonal and a high resolution The images displayed on the display make the corresponding solution universal and in demand in various fields.

In addition, the display, as experts and users can note, shows a picture of excellent quality - bright, saturated. Of course, in this case its source plays a role. The picture or video file must have the appropriate level of resolution and playback speed - if we talk about video. But if the quality of the multimedia content is high enough, the laptop will do an excellent job of playing it. And this also increases the versatility of the device: in principle, in some cases it becomes possible to use it as a tool for processing graphics, video, developing various applications, design projects at those stages when they are not required to be displayed on displays that support higher resolutions.

Thus, taking into account the capabilities of the laptop’s graphics accelerators, it can run the most modern applications and games that require appropriate screen resources, primarily in terms of resolution and content quality.

Communication capabilities

The laptop is equipped with the hardware components necessary for communication according to the most popular standards: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, USB. The user can also use the HDMI and VGA connectors to display images on the screen of a third-party device. The communication functions of the ASUS K95VB laptop function - reviews from experts and users can confirm this - stably, without significant glitches.

Device Positioning

The Asus K95VB laptop (reviews from experts can confirm this) is positioned primarily as a device that can fully replace the average desktop, capable of not only processing documents and visiting various online resources, but also optimized for running various graphic applications and undemanding, but at the same time common games.

Indeed, if we consider the characteristics of the device, we can determine that in such components as processor frequency, amount of RAM, and especially the volume hard drive, the device in question is significantly ahead of many laptops adapted to solve tasks typical, first of all, for a mobile device.

At the same time, the Asus K95VB laptop (expert reviews can confirm this) does not have the most powerful battery in terms of ensuring long-term battery life. There are cheaper solutions on the market that outperform the device in question in terms of battery efficiency. The versatility of the device does not raise questions: it supports the most popular communication standards, as well as interfaces for playing multimedia streams.

The device has modern RAM modules, which by default are already presented in sufficient large volume, and if necessary can be supplemented with more capacious modules. Reviews about Asus laptop K95VB YZ07H (more correctly YZ007H), or YZ009H - in any actual modification, include very positive assessments of the ease of use of the device. Thus, the size of the keys on it is comparable to that typical for conventional desktop keyboards. The same can be said about the size of the screen: it, in principle, corresponds to displays connected to modern PCs.

The advantage of a laptop is its fairly quiet operation - in this sense, it may be preferable to many desktops, the cooling systems of which in many cases operate with noticeable noise. This feature The device is predetermined by the fact that it implements IceCool technology, the essence of which is to optimize the placement of hardware components of the device that heat up more than others.

The device is quite heavy - its weight is about 4.1 kg. This can make transporting it, for example, by plane problematic, since not every user will agree to pay for the significant weight of the laptop in luggage in case of overload.

I took this laptop 3-4 months ago, I decided not to write a review after the first acquaintance, but first look at its positive and negative sides. Let's go in order. Opening it and turning it on caused a slight panic pre-installed new Windows 8. I fought with it for a week and decided to return to the usual Windows 7, but when I went to the Asus website I discovered that there were simply no drivers for the old axes. I was upset, but since it was such a song, I had to spend time learning, getting used to it, etc. After 4 months, I’m very glad that I didn’t roll back to 7, I’m used to it, I’m happy. I won’t say anything about the difference in performance, because... It would be fair to compare the same hardware with a different axis, but in terms of beauty and convenience, Win 8 wins. The other day I sat down at a computer with Windows 7 and it was already unusual and somehow uncomfortable. Next is the screen. At first glance, the color rendition is not bad, but the illusion dissipates as soon as you start working with photographs. I took the monitor to calibrate, but I still didn’t get accurate colors. I had to leave the monitor from desktop computer with P-IPS matrix. This doesn’t bother me much, but I would still like a good matrix in this laptop, so that outside the home I could safely turn the sliders without fear of spoiling the source code, or simply not wasting time. Size - yes Workspace the programs are simply gorgeous! Resolution - I am left in two minds. The fonts in the system and programs do not strain your eyesight, but as soon as you open any web page, it is impossible to read 100% comfortably. You have to turn up the scale by 125%, but the images become pixelated, and the fonts are the wrong size and hardness. This is upsetting, of course, because I know how natural they are. There are no complaints about the processor even in the heaviest programs and games at maximum settings, but 6Gb of RAM is not enough for modern tasks. So as not to bother, I installed 32Gb of RAM and a 6Tb HDD in one fell swoop. There are no complaints about the body. Not a nasty gloss, but not the plastic or aluminum of expensive models. The keyboard does not fall through, the buttons do not stick, their height is very correct, and the tactile sensation is very pleasant. Anyone who has problems with this should either contact the service under warranty, or simply need to be more careful with the equipment. I don't use the touchpad - I don't like it. The case does not heat up even during prolonged use in heavy programs. The battery lasts for 2-3 hours, but this is quite fair, because... The screen is almost 19 inches. This is probably the most important thing that can be said about this laptop. To summarize, I will say that this is a very decent laptop for the money, which has huge potential for upgrading compared to more expensive competitors and which will naturally outlive them, remaining relevant and productive. Overall it's good home computer to replace the stationary one.

Probably you shouldn’t perceive the listed shortcomings as critical - you get used to everything, but nevertheless they have a place to exist. I give two good pieces of advice to those wishing to buy this device: 1. When purchasing, be sure to check the presence of an external video card: the experience of the first purchase showed that it may not be there. 2.

    • - large screen; - large amount of memory
    • - disgusting viewing angle (compared to ACER Aspire 8930G); - easily soiled, for some reason glossy keyboard; - not very convenient location of USB ports + there are not enough of them; - no keyboard backlight; - there is no key switch display caps lock; - regularly makes some quacking sounds; -Win8

I don't recommend demolishing the eight. There is NO firewood for seven for this device (even LAN card will not whisper). You will get tired of installing it manually. Better upgrade to 8.1 and get used to it. If you decide to demolish the eight, the sequence of actions is: In the BIOS, boot tab: Launc CSM-on, Launc PXE OpROM-on. and the Security tab: Secure Boot Control-off Then, when loading, Esc and select the startup media \ F2 to enter the BIOS.

    • Diagonal 18.4. Norm proc. Mountain of memory on hard drives. Quiet. The battery holds up well. Quite cold.
    • Disgusting matrix. Terribly soiled. Lack of basic keyboard backlighting. Weak video card... Periodic quacks. Blatant imposition of wine 8

It gets hot because in China everything is done with the expectation that sooner or later it will burn out. If you don’t take cooling measures, blowing it up or something else like that, it will last 3 years at loads of one percent. And the laptop is not bad. I installed 2 terabytes. Safe and low-heating. WD red. And ozushki 16 gigabytes 2 slats. Works fine. It’s just that at first I was tormented with the BIOS by some new BIOS.

    • Power, versatility

I like everything! :) Seriously, I'm completely satisfied, despite the minor shortcomings. This is my portable work machine, in no way inferior to a desktop computer. Video viewing, photo processing, virtual host, network, data storage - hurray-forward. We struggled with removing Windows for a long time, gave up, installed Linux in parallel.

    • Screen size and resolution, viewing angles, color rendition, high-quality video - cartoons and movies are easy for me, I don’t play with toys - I may not be able to cope with them; comfortable and relatively quiet keyboard, excellent quality materials and assembly, non-staining body, a sufficient number of connectors (well, that’s enough for me :)), excellent network catching; fast, quiet, does not overheat.
    • Windows is the main drawback (and without it the price is higher: D); considerable weight; easily soiled glossy screen; the sound from the speakers is strange and weak, but this may be due to Linux; In Linux Skype, the sound cannot be turned on at all - a conflict with the sound card.

Large screen - large memory capacity

Everything is great: the video card, a ton of memory, a lot of tasty things!

    2 years ago 0

Large screen, high resolution, build quality, performance - an order of magnitude higher than that of competitors (I won’t point fingers at all sorts of Lenovo, dell, acer, dns, etc.)

    2 years ago 0

Everything has already been written. I would highlight exactly why they buy it - screen size (price/quality), non-staining body (albeit plastic), two disks (flexibility of use and increased reliability of data storage), although 64-bit (GK208), but still not the slowest is 740M (P1941 in 3DMark 11).

The battery holds, does not heat up, is fast enough, well built

Powerful, good machine for home use, not for a cafe. I replaced the tower, a lot of space was freed up, and maneuverability around the apartment appeared. And silence!!! If only I would recommend buying it for this, I haven’t had a quieter car. I refused the cooling stand (heating does not exceed 45-50 degrees, although it works for half a day or more. The sound for watching movies and games is quite satisfactory, not a music lover. And what else struck me is that the keyboard does not bend at this size.

Budget look, budget sound, budget video card, small number of connectors and their inconvenient location. Pre-installed (and actually paid for by you) Windows 8. Disk drive without Blu-ray. Card reader for one size. Problems with updating drivers. No Asus technical support.

The keys on the keyboard would be larger and firmer, and a backlight would not hurt. The power connection socket is a little close to the USB socket, in fact it would be better to move it to back panel. With this size, of course the screen should be matte ( good viewing only in the dark)

The video card broke in the second week of use, there are problems installing drivers.
