Test whether I know Yandex browser well. New Yandex browser - pros and cons. Unpleasant features of the Yandex browser (Internet browser). New Yandex browser - pros and cons Using RAM

In the 21st century, technology is developing at an unprecedented speed, even to modern man It's hard to keep up with progress. To stay relevant installed programs in Windows, it is better to enable auto-update; we recommend doing the same for the Yandex browser, and if it does not update, we check for updates manually. Most Yandex browser updates are extremely useful, but the possibility of failures cannot be ruled out, and then the updates will have to be rolled back. Next we’ll talk about whether it is necessary to update the Yandex.browser, how to do it and about possible questions during the upgrade process.

An update is a set of fixes, innovations, improvements for an application or the system as a whole. All reputable programs release updates, this is a sign of the application's development.

The principle of development and implementation of innovations is approximately the following:

  1. Collection of information. Developers receive data on possible and necessary innovations. This includes: user complaints, information about detected vulnerabilities, and errors in the application.
  2. Assessing the need and effectiveness of implementing changes. They move to the next stage only when a large number of complaints about failures are received or the positive effect of the innovation outweighs the possible risks and costs.
  3. Work planning and development stage. Yandex programmers begin searching and making corrections to the web browser.
  4. Testing of completed work. This is an extremely important stage, as it helps to detect vulnerabilities and possible problems with the software product.
  5. Final development of the application. The identified bugs are being fixed.
  6. Update release. The files become available to a wider audience.

There are 3 ways to update the browser: manually, automatically or using the installer. Under system update usually means auto-updating of the browser. The browser records the time it checks for update packages in the Task Scheduler. If in set time it became possible to perform an upgrade, everything happens automatically, without user action.

Do I need to update Yandex Browser?

An important and common question is: do I need to update the Yandex browser? Opinions are divided into two parts:

  • Some say that the browser works well without an update, so there is no need for it;
  • Others report visible improvements after the update.

To understand whether you need to update the Yandex browser on your computer, we suggest considering the advantages and disadvantages of the action.

  • The level of security is increased by closing vulnerabilities;
  • Productivity increases. Constant testing of operating algorithms allows us to find and reduce loading times;
  • New features are added and often prove useful;
  • Known errors are eliminated;
  • It becomes possible to use new applications that work only on the latest versions of the browser.
  • You need to have unlimited traffic. To download the update package you will need at least 20-50 MB of traffic;
  • Some old features are being abandoned. The new browser may not be able to play some games and use outdated technologies. For example, in the modern version of Yandex browser you cannot run Unity Web Player, Flash Player(NPAPI);
  • Changes are being made to the design. Sometimes design changes are inconvenient and not everyone likes them. The choice becomes: get used to what is there or roll back the update.

Conclusion: each user determines for himself whether it is worth updating the Yandex browser according to his own preferences. If you actively use outdated functions (Flash Player, plugin management, etc.) that are cut out from new versions, it is definitely better not to update. In other cases, the update is useful.

How to check for updates in Yandex browser

Typically, checking for Yandex browser updates leads to self-updating. If the goal is to update your web browser, this method is ideal:

If you need to check the Yandex browser update without it automatic installation, There is alternative way find out whether the browser version is up to date or not. The principle is simple: let's find out current version browser and the newest version available for download, then compare them.

How to determine the current and current version:

How to update Yandex browser

We can launch the update in three ways:

Manual update

If you don’t want to wait for the browser to update itself, we can speed up the process:

Auto-update of Yandex browser

By default, the browser updates itself, without user demand or active participation. This can happen even when the Yandex web browser is not running on the system. Automatic updating has to be activated only if it has previously been turned off.

How to turn it on automatic update browser, if it was disabled:

If the AppData folder cannot be found, the system display is disabled hidden files. Enable display of hidden data:

Important! During the above actions, the Yandex browser must be disabled.

After the next launch of the browser, updates will begin to arrive automatically.

Web browser installer

Loading installation file and when running it, it checks whether the current version is installed on the system. If you already have the latest version of the browser, nothing will happen, it will just launch the existing browser. If new versions are detected, the browser will be updated during installation.

There is also a more radical way to update - deleting the old version of the browser and installing a new one. The disadvantage of this method is the possible loss of personal data. It makes sense to use it only if it is impossible to start updating using other methods. Before reinstalling Yandex software, we recommend that you enable synchronization with your profile. To do this, go to the “Settings” page, in the first line click “Set up synchronization” and log into your profile or register an account on the Yandex service.

How to roll back a Yandex browser update

Although older versions of Yandex Browser have less security and speed, the difference is usually visually invisible, it is expressed in 10-30% for certain actions. The average user also cannot determine the security level on their own. But in previous versions There is support for useful NPAPI plugins.

There are 2 ways to return the Yandex browser state back if it has already been updated:

  • System rollback;
  • Removing the new and installing the old browser.

How to restore a program or system

How to cancel Yandex browser update via system rollback:

If point recovery doesn't work, you'll have to roll back the entire system:

The method is convenient and effective, but there is not always a successful recovery point. If there are no system backups, you will have to downgrade in another way.

Installing an old version of Yandex browser

How to return the old Yandex browser after updating by reinstalling:

We recommend that you immediately turn off browser auto-updates and do not go to the “About Browser” tab, otherwise it may update automatically. If self-updating occurs during installation, turn off the Internet for the period of installing the browser and deleting the files responsible for the update.

How to prevent Yandex browser from updating

By default, Yandex browser is constantly updated. If this behavior does not suit you for any reason ( paid internet, you need to use old functions, the browser is designed for testing software on all versions of the browser), we can prevent the Yandex browser from updating.

How to prevent the Yandex browser from updating:

Why doesn't the Yandex browser update?

Yandex browser does not always update automatically. Why is this happening:

  • Installed portable version browser from an unofficial source (see section above);
  • Files responsible for updating the browser have been removed (see section above);
  • There was a problem installing the browser.

What to do if Yandex browser does not update:

If this does not help, try setting up the firewall:

  • Download the Yandex web browser installation file from the link and run the file. Everything will happen automatically; no prior removal of the browser is required.

How long does it take to update the Yandex browser?

“Time costs money,” which raises the question before starting an update about how long it will take. The entire time spent installing updates rarely exceeds 1-2 minutes. The duration directly depends on the performance of the computer and the speed of the Internet connection. With average PC specifications and good internet installation takes about 30-40 seconds.

Understanding how to enable, disable and roll back updates in the Yandex browser, we can understand exactly what we need. The best decision, in our opinion, check for updates, find out what’s new in them and evaluate the need for updates. In most cases we recommend doing manual update with a certain frequency (from 1 week to 1-2 months).

There are no perfect browsers. Even the seemingly most powerful, fast and popular browser can actually malfunction and be subject to glitches and errors. And the Yandex browser in this case is no exception. Users quite often encounter a problem when the Yandex browser does not work, does not want to start, or simply does not open pages. Let's figure out what to do in this case and how to eliminate such errors and make sure that they do not pop up in the future.

In general, there can be a lot of reasons why the browser from a popular Russian search engine has stopped launching. But we will consider only those due to which it does not work most often. And they, in principle and almost always, are the cause of a program failure. And we will try to solve errors that prevent you from using all the features normally world wide web.

Why doesn't Yandex Browser work?

  • Normal program crash.
  • Malicious programs that prevent it from working normally.
  • Use by other programs of a large number random access memory computer.
  • Operating system malfunctions.
  • Damaged files.
  • Problems with temporary files in the registry.
  • Outdated browser version.

And so, we sorted out the problems. Now you can proceed directly to solving them.

This option can only be effective in cases where a temporary program failure has occurred. Then you can simply reboot the system, and the problem will go away on its own. Or, the method may be useful when the program is frozen. In short, in this way you can only solve an error that arose due to system overload or program file failure.

If the problem lies much deeper, then you will have to resort to more complex and drastic methods of treating browser ailments.

Removing viruses

Very often the Yandex browser does not start due to the fact that the computer has been infected malware, preventing the application from starting normally. Such a virus can be picked up very easily, especially if you do not have an antivirus installed or have disabled it, which prevents the threat from penetrating the system and harming it. Although in some cases, even an antivirus does not help, since every day many new viruses and Trojans are released and spread, which it has not yet learned to recognize.

If, nevertheless, you fell for the bait of hackers and accidentally downloaded a Trojan onto your computer and your browser stopped launching, then you need to immediately scan your computer for viruses. And if they are found, delete them immediately. Then restart the system and try to open the Yandex browser again. If it starts, then the problem is fixed. If not, then move on to the next one. possible problem and we try to remove it.

Other programs use a lot of RAM

Another reason why the Yandex browser flatly refuses to open is the lack of RAM and processor memory. What does it mean? Simply put, there are too many programs and applications installed on your computer that mercilessly eat up RAM. And when it is not enough, Windows simply physically cannot run the program, because there is absolutely no room left for it.

The solution to this problem is very banal and simple. All you need to do is disable programs that use a lot of RAM. You can do this by going to the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and removing certain programs from the list. It’s even better to disable them so that you don’t have to perform this action every time you start computer, that is, a computer.

Clearing the DNS cache

This method turns out to be very effective in most cases and almost always allows you to get rid of the problem of inoperability Yandex Browser. Various static routes can be stored in the DNS cache, as a result of which the browser stops working normally and refuses to start, or becomes very slow and does not want to load any pages. Clearing it eliminates all these errors and returns the browser to normal operation.

How to clear cacheDNS:

That's it, clearing the cache is complete. To check whether the problem was resolved using similar actions, launch your browser. But before this, it is recommended to restart Windows. If it opens, then everything is fine, the error is cleared. If not, then you will have to do some more magic to achieve the desired result and bring the Yandex browser into full operation.

Cleaning the registry

Didn't all of the above steps help? Don't despair, because there are still ways that can help you get your browser back up and running. One of these is cleaning the registry files.

Registry files can become damaged if the program is closed incorrectly, or if any important files from the browser folder, or an incorrect program update. Also, the cause of a failure in the registry can be the same viruses, and quite often, they penetrate the registry and even their complete removal does not produce results as long as they are in the temporary files of the program.

How to clean the Yandex browser Registry:

Check if Yandex browser is working now. Most likely, it should start without problems.

Yandex browser takes a long time to load

It happens that the website browser starts without problems, but it takes a very long time. This happens as often as other errors associated with this browser. This problem can be solved using the same solutions described above. First try restarting your computer. If this is not enough, then check your computer for viruses, clear the cache and registry, and remove programs from the task manager that consume a large amount of RAM and place a heavy load on the processor. This should be more than enough for the program to work normally.

Also, the browser may slow down, and various errors may constantly appear. In all these cases, the methods described in this article will help you. If this does not help, then go straight to the very last point in this article.

Complete removal and reinstallation of Yandex Browser

If nothing else helps, and the problem remains regardless of any of your actions, then you will have to move on to extreme measures. To be more precise, you need to completely remove the program and reinstall it. Moreover, it is recommended to download and install the latest version.

How to remove a browser from Yandex?

Before installing a newer version, you need to get rid of the old one. And now we will tell you how to do this.

And so, you deleted the Yandex browser and restarted the system. Great, but that's not all. There are traces of the program left on the system that must be removed. To do this, download CCleaner and clear the registry cache to get rid of unnecessary files, which may cause failures.

Installation

Now that the browser has been completely removed and all the “tails” from it have been cleaned, you can install it again.

To be sure of its functionality, download the latest version, and download it exclusively from the official website. To do this, go to https://browser.yandex.ru/desktop/main/ and click the “Download” button. That's it, the loading process has begun. Now you need to wait until it is completely downloaded.

If you have already downloaded or had the latest version of the Yandex browser on your computer, then open the installer and start the installation. I think everyone will figure this out. You just need to follow the installer's steps. And after installation is complete, be sure to restart your computer. This method should help in one hundred percent of cases and the browser will launch without problems and work without failures.

I've been asked this question many times, and I finally decided to write an answer that I can then poke everyone into. Usually, I send all these people a link to the awesome yabrowser.com (from which, by the way, I took the background image). But, as practice shows, no one is interested in what is written there, but they need to hear the answer from me.

Every day I use Yandex.Browser. For some reason, this evokes a lot of emotions in everyone: “How can it be, you pogromist, how can you use some kind of craft from Yandex?!”, “Well, there is Chrome!”, “There are only bugs in Y. Browser!” . And everyone immediately looks sideways at you, as if you had rolled up your jeans. But it’s not prohibited by law, I use the browser I want (and I also install it for everyone). And that's why.

Gestures

One of the most important features of Ya.Browser for me is support for gestures with the mouse, or in my case, with the touchpad. Using gestures, you can go back and forth through history, reload, open, re-open and close tabs. All this is done by an ordinary programmer (and sometimes an unusual user) by the well-known combinations of the Alt button with arrows or the Control button with letters. However, when you scroll a page, you don’t really want to reach for any buttons to close it, or reload it, or go back.

It’s probably funny for MacOS users to read this, but in Windows the support for gestures on the touchpad is extremely poor, and the fact that this is implemented specifically in the browser (which means you don’t need to bother with drivers for the touchpad, etc.) is incredibly cool and convenient. In general, this was the reason for my switch to this browser.

"Back"

Unlike everyone else, the guys at Yandex use their own browser, and they know that the “Back” button is an important thing that should always go back. Therefore, if someone sends me something on Skype, or I open a link from mail, I don’t need to then look for the window in which I was before. All I have to do is press the back button (or use a gesture!) and it opens itself.

Moreover. There is one more important feature that others lack. If I open a link in a new tab (Control + click), then it knows where it was opened from, and therefore I can click “Back” in it and get access to the page from which I opened it. If you actively use Google, you understand why it is useful.

Add-ons

The browser comes out of the box with a bunch of add-ons that actually make sense. This is not just a set of promotional things that the company obliges you to use because they were included in it. For example, here is a list of the add-ons that come by default and that I use:

  • FriGate- a fast proxy for all sorts of root trackers and other lurks;
  • Turbo- automatic traffic compression if the speed is very low (with mobile internet, For example);
  • Synchronization and backup storage - everything is clear here;
  • Pocket- to postpone articles for later;
  • Yandex.Market Advisor- an extension that saved me a hundred times when some M.Video wanted to sell me a product 15-20% more expensive than it is in other stores;
  • Music remote control- a cool add-on that controls all musical activity (more about it separately below);
  • Antishock, Blocking flash banners and videos- in addition to my μBlock and Ghostery.

In addition to this, I have a dozen more of them, however, when I set up a browser for someone, all I need to do is download μBlock, because the rest is already in the browser.

Music remote control

A mega-cool addition from Yandex, which they apparently initially created only for their Y.Music service, and then expanded it to everything they could get their hands on. Thus, it can be used to control the most famous audio sources in your browser. For example, for me it now looks like this:

As you can see, I can turn on Ya.Radio from here, and the music from VK will be automatically paused. Moreover, I can go back and forth through the playlist in all these services. And, most importantly for me, I can do this at the global keyboard shortcut level. Yes, when I play KSS once every hundred years, this is exactly how I control the music :)

Naturally, the application is smart, and if you open some video on YouTube, it pauses the current audio source and all that. In general, just a huge respect to Yandexoids for this. This is even cooler than gestures. Switch, stop/start, like a track without switching the code editor - you can kill for this. According to rumors, the extension can be found in the Chrome application store :)

Files

It’s very short: I use the browser as an electronic reader (epub and fb2) and I don’t regret it. And at the same time I can open documents, spreadsheet files, presentations and all that stuff in it. This is often faster than opening Microsoft office products, especially when you only need to look.

Other goodies

There are too many goodies, so just a list of the rest:

  • built-in translator that can translate part of a page, not the whole thing at once;
  • if necessary, page search takes into account morphology, i.e. by entering “window”, you can find both “at the window” and “in front of the window”;
  • on popular sites in search bar links to important sections appear (for example, “Payment and delivery” in stores - fire);
  • warnings about using open WiFi and automatic switching on encryption for it (useful for your relatives, you are smart, I remember);
  • warnings about scam sites, about pages that will sign you up for some SMS newsletters, meticulous (in a good way) safe mode for online banking (and this is for relatives, of course).

The most important thing is Chromium. That is, in Y. Browser I have all the same development tools that I have in Chrome. I have never come across bugs specifically in Y. Browser, because in principle this cannot happen. Although I have heard quite a few legends about them. But so far none have been confirmed.

Honesty

This is perhaps what most IT companies in Russia lack. Honesty with the user. Yandex has it. If you are not in the know, then on any page of Yandex search results you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “Google” link, for example. And this will open Google results for your query.

It's the same here. Yandex is not Mail. Their browser is installed honestly, configured honestly, and deleted honestly (rot in hell, Amigo!). And, what may seem surprising to some, it is not necessary to use Yandex. In general, no one, when they see my browser, understands what it is, because the “Me” button is disabled in the settings, and the default search is in Google.

Responsiveness

I love Yandex support. They are cool. Over the entire period of my use of their services, I have sent more than a hundred letters to her for a long time. And they answer each of them, remind you of each. With my participation, 3-4 small bugs in the browser were closed, I was one of those who asked to finish the music control so that it would work in the new VK interface, I sent them countless letters about bugs in Ya.Mail. And all my problems were always solved. This is really very cool.

Interface

The only thing I don't like is the new Yandex Browser interface. It didn’t take root with me and that’s it. On my screen it doesn’t look very good, but fortunately you can still use it classic version. I firmly believe that they will not take it away from me, because sometimes it even seems to me that it works faster, and speed is what is especially important in work.

As for everything else, I'm not sure that your browser is as cool as mine.

When I saw the new Yandex.Browser for the first time, I decided that I finally had a normal one for review. good browser. But after working with it for some time, I discovered several disadvantages.

In general, I would like to praise the developers. The browser turned out good. Previously, Yandex offered everyone its copy of Chrome, which contained nothing else except widgets from Yandex. But then they came to their senses and made a normal browser, but still took Chromium as the basis.

Browser advantages:

It is minimalistic like any other Chromium-based browser.
- It has advanced functionality and settings that are not available in Google Chrome.
- It's simple. Those. really simple. Even the settings and options are designed so that a beginner can understand them.
- Turbo mode. Compresses pages, allowing them to load faster.
- Convenient bookmarks.
- Smart line. The address bar provides hints. If you do not remember the exact domain of the site or its name, then smart line The site will help you find it.
- Quick links. But this function not really needed.
- Built-in protection, thanks to Kaspersky Lab. In fact, antivirus protection, built into the browser, allows you to avoid viruses. Those. the principle is the same as Comodo Dragon.
- Translate the page into any of the 9 built-in languages.
- There is a version for MacOS.
- All extensions from Chrome are compatible with the browser.

Thus, Yandex.Browser combines the speed of Chrome, and additional features make the Yandex browser quite functional and useful. This browser can be safely used instead Internet Explorer or Chrome. The browser is really good and stable. What else can you expect from a large corporation :)

But there are also disadvantages:
- It is installed via the Internet. Those. you download only the client. This is not always convenient.
- Yandex.Browser, like Chrome, likes to send anonymous data. This is needed more for statistics, but it’s still unpleasant.
- The settings are still too simplified. Some users like fine-tuning, but this won’t work with Yandex Browser.
- If you close the browser and then start it, it will restore all tabs and sites opened in the previous session. Sometimes this is annoying, but you can turn it off in the settings.
- I don’t know why, but each tab creates new process in the task manager! This is terribly annoying, clogs up the task manager and loads the system.

Actually, there are not so many disadvantages. Besides, all browsers have their drawbacks. But you can put up with the disadvantages of Yandex.Browser, since these are more shortcomings than disadvantages.

After the next browser update in February 2014, additional functions appeared in it:

Now the browser has a pop-up blocker, screen dimming while watching videos, product search and other very useful features,

New browser now warns about fraudulent sites using large letters that are difficult to miss.

All these add-ons are already built-in; you don’t need to find or install them additionally. But there is a function to turn add-ons on and off.

conclusions

The browser is very good. But still I would like more opportunities in more fine tuning. Plus, anonymously sending data develops schizophrenia in some people :)

The browser is simple, stable, and has a laconic and beautiful interface. Actually, there is nothing more to say. It's boring to talk about good browsers :) After all, everyone loves to criticize bad browsers, there are even entire forums of hatred towards browsers.

Yandex.Browser is a good browser. If you are still a fan of using Yandex services, then this browser is for you! Especially suitable for beginners and just people who don’t want to delve into the settings.

Hello everyone, I’ll tell you about what Yandex Browser is, what kind of program it is, what it’s for, and whether it can be removed. I’ll write it this way, so that you understand for sure, in the end you yourself will be able to decide whether you need it or not. This means that Yandex Browser is not just a program, it is a very popular program, many users know about it, and all because it is... well, so to speak, a program for browsing the Internet.

That is, with the help of Yandex Browser you can surf the Internet, visit websites, view website pages, and so on. You can also watch movies on the Internet, chat, listen to music, read books, in general, you can do all this in the browser, that is, this is a window to the world of the World Wide Web or whatever it is, in short, a window to the Internet!

This means, as you already understand, this browser is from the Yandex company, or, more simply put, from this search engine. And although this is a Yandex browser, it is still made on the basis of Google Chrome, well, you are not particularly surprised, many people do this, take the basis of Chrome and then add a little or a lot and in the end it is already like an original browser, albeit based on Chrome.

By the way, I found an interesting picture, look how similar Yandex Browser and Google Chrome are:

And they have a lot in common; at most they may differ in color, or some other small thing

If you did NOT download Yandex Browser and it appeared on your computer on its own, then this can be said to be normal. The fact is that Yandex Browser penetrates users’ computers, so to speak, in stealth mode. So you install some program, and along with it Yandex Browser is quietly installed. No, of course, somewhere during installation there is a checkbox stating that more software from Yandex will be installed, and if you uncheck it, the browser will not be installed... But this checkbox is very easy to miss... Well, I think you understand...

So, look, I installed Yandex Browser, it appeared on my taskbar, here is a button for the browser itself and also the Yandex search engine:

That is, if you click on the first button, the Yandex Browser will simply launch, and if you click the second, the Yandex search engine will open in the same browser, everything is clear

Well, here I think everything is clear, here’s what the browser itself looks like:

So I opened it and loaded the Yandex search engine. And if you don’t download anything, then this is what the browser will look like, so to speak, this is its start page:

So what do you think? You may not know this, but Yandex Browser has acquired this cool interface; before it was different, like this:

The whole trick of the new design, so to speak, is that this is the background screensaver, it goes to the entire screen or to the entire window in start tab. In general, on the one hand there are few differences, on the other hand they are significant, I personally don’t like it new design browser, but it is no longer possible to return the old one, but before it was possible! Look, here is a button in the settings to disable the new interface:

But the settings are already new version browser, well, the one I’m writing about here:

As you can see, there are opportunities to return old design no longer exists, and this is very bad, it seems to me that this is not very correct, just like that and change the design. And if someone doesn’t like it and someone wants to return it, then how can they return it? That's how it is guys...

If you use another browser for the Internet, then perhaps you should remove this Yandex Browser? Well, why would it just hang in your programs and take up space if you don’t use it... In general, see for yourself, and I’ll still show you how to remove it, so that you know how to do it, just in case. So look, hold down the Win + R buttons and write there a command like:

A list of programs will open, here you need to find Yandex and right-click on it, then select Delete:

Then this small window will appear, here you need to click Delete:

That's all, as you can see there is nothing complicated. You will also still have the Yandex Button, well, I mean it will remain in that list of programs, you can delete it in the same way:

It will be deleted without any questions asked.

That's all guys, that's all, I hope that everything here was clear to you and the information was useful. Good luck in life and may everything go well for you
