What you can do in vegas pro 13. Basic elements of editing in Vegas Pro. Adding multiple videos into one frame

Many users cannot immediately figure out how to use Sony Vegas, so in this article we decided to make a large selection of lessons on this popular video editor. Let's look at the questions that are most often found on the Internet.

There is nothing complicated in the installation: first go to the official website of the program and download it. Then it will begin standard process installations where it will be necessary to take license agreement and select the location of the editor. That's the whole installation.

Saving videos

Oddly enough, the process of saving videos raises the most questions: many users do not know the difference "Save project..." from "Export…". If you want to save the video so that it can be viewed in the player, you need the button "Export…". In the window that opens, select the video format and resolution. A more confident user can go into the settings and experiment with bitrate, frame size and frequency, and other parameters. Saving a project involves a different process, and for more details about the intricacies of this topic, read the article at the link below.

Trimming and splitting videos

To carry out either of the two operations, move the carriage to the place where you want to make the cut. You can split a video by pressing just one specific key, as well as "Delete", if one of the received fragments needs to be deleted (that is, the video should be trimmed). Read more about this at the link below.

Adding Effects

Any high-quality installation involves adding some effects. Therefore, let's look at how to add effects in Sony Vegas. To begin, select the fragment on which you want to apply a special effect and click on the button "Event Special Effects". In the window that opens you will find a huge number of different options. Choose any! More details about applying effects:

Creating a Smooth Transition

A smooth transition between videos is necessary so that the final result of the video looks holistic and connected. This is easy to do: on the timeline, overlap the edge of one fragment with the edge of another. You can do the same with images. You can add effects to transitions; to do this, just go to the tab "Transitions" and drag the effect you like to the intersection of the videos.

Rotate video

The editor allows you to control the degree of rotation the way you want. Rotation and flip are carried out in one of two modes: automatic (by selecting a specific angle) or manual (using the mouse rotation function). Additionally, the video can be reflected. How to do all this is written in a short material at the link below.

Change video speed and play in reverse order

It is not at all difficult to speed up and slow down the video. This can be done using only the timeline, the file properties section, or a special menu item designed to fine-tune and adjust the playback speed. In addition, the program allows you to reverse the audio track and the video itself, which is also useful for non-standard processing.

Creating titles and inserting text

Adding fancy text is another option. You can not just type some words, but add effects and animation for them in the general style of the video. They can always be changed if necessary. Keep in mind that any text must be on a separate video track, so do not forget to create one before starting work.

Creating a Freeze Frame

Freeze frame is an interesting effect when the recording seems to be paused. It is often used to draw attention to some point in a video. It’s not at all difficult to do it, although there is no separate tool in the editor for this. Using a little trick, each user will be able to add a freeze frame to their video, and our instructions at the following link will be useful for this.

Zooming in on a video or a fragment of it

By analogy with a freeze frame, when it is necessary to pay attention to any fragment of the recording, it is zoomed in and shown on the entire screen. The built-in function is responsible for this effect . Read on to learn how to use it correctly.

Video stretching

Typically, users want to stretch the video to remove the black bars around the edges of the video. To do this, you need to use the same tool "Panning and cropping events...". Depending on which side of the strip, the process of removing them will be different. We reviewed both of them in a separate article.

Reduce video size

In fact, you can significantly reduce the size of a video only at the expense of quality or by using third-party programs. Using the editor itself, you can only change the encoding mode so that the video card is not used during rendering.

Render acceleration

You can speed up rendering only due to the recording quality or after upgrading your computer. One way to speed up rendering is to reduce the bitrate and change the frame rate. You can also process video using a video card, transferring part of the load to it.

Removing chromakey

Removing the green background (in other words, chromakey) from a video is easy. For this purpose, Sony Vegas has a special effect, which is called - "Chroma Key". All you have to do is apply the effect to the recording and specify which color you want to remove.

Removing noise from audio

No matter how hard you try to mute everything when recording a video outside sounds, all the same, extraneous noise is often detected in audio recordings. In order to remove them, Sony Vegas has a special audio effect called "Noise suppression". Layer it on an audio recording that needs to be edited in a specific way until you are happy with the sound.

Deleting an audio track

If you need to remove sound from a video, either completely remove the audio track or simply mute it. Depending on your needs, the method to achieve the goal will vary, but in any case it will take less than a minute.

Changing voice on video

Video stabilization

Most likely, if you did not use special equipment when filming, there will be side jerks, jolts and shakes in the video. In order to fix this, the editor has a special effect - “Stabilization”. Overlay it onto your recording and customize the effect using ready-made presets or manually.

Adding multiple videos into one frame

Certain video formats require complex processing, in particular, adding several videos into one to increase information content. Sony Vegas allows you not only to do this, but also to manually control the frame size relative to the recording itself. When the optimal size is selected, position the frame as necessary and add a few more videos to the frame.

Create a video or audio fade effect

Fading sound or video is necessary in order to focus the viewer's attention on certain moments. In the editor in question, it’s easy to create such an effect. The smooth appearance and disappearance of the video looks beautiful and pleasant, and changing the volume audio track will adjust it to the style of the picture and help focus attention on specific moments, for example, dialogues. For information on how to do this, read the two articles linked below.

Color correction

Even well-shot material can benefit from color correction. There are a number of tools for this in Sony Vegas. For example, you can use the effect "Color Curves" to lighten, darken the video, or apply other colors, or effects like "White Balance", "Color corrector", "Color tone" to achieve the intended result. And the article at the link below will make this process easier for a beginner.

Adding music to videos

When working with various projects, the need arises to add music to a track with an image. Sony Vegas will help you do this in just a few clicks by using additional settings, which will allow you to achieve maximum harmony between these two components. The functions present in the program will automatically adjust the sound and video; the user only needs to set the configuration.

Installing plugins

When the basic Sony Vegas tools are not enough, install additional plugins. This is easy to do: if the downloaded plugin has an EXE extension, simply specify the installation path; if it is an archive, unpack it into a special folder in the editor. All installed plugins you will find in the tab "Video Effects". More details on where to put plugins:

One of the most popular plugins for Sony Vegas and other video editors is Magic Bullet Looks. Even though this add-on is paid, it is worth it. With its help, you can significantly expand your file processing capabilities.

Creating an intro

Intro is an introductory video that is, as it were, your signature. The first thing viewers will see is the intro, and only then the video itself. Read the next article to learn how to create an introduction.

Error correction

From time to time, program users experience various types of errors that prevent further work. Each of them can be eliminated different ways, and now we will analyze the main problems and also provide options for solving them.

Error: "Unmanaged Exception"

It is often difficult to determine the cause of an error "Unmanaged Exception", so there are many ways to eliminate it. Most likely, the problem arose due to incompatibility or missing video card drivers. Try updating the drivers manually or using a special program.

It may be that some file needed to run the program has been damaged. To find out all the ways to solve this problem, follow the link below.

Sony Vegas won't open AVI

Sony Vegas is a capricious editor, so don't be surprised if he refuses to open some post formats. The easiest way to solve this problem is to convert the video into a format that will definitely open in this program. If you want to figure it out and fix the error, you will most likely have to install additional software(codec package) and work with libraries. Read below to see how this is done.

Error opening codec

Many users encounter an error when opening plugins. The problem is probably that the codec package is not installed on the PC or an outdated version is installed. In this case, you need to install or update codecs manually. If for some reason installing codecs did not help, simply convert the video to another format that will definitely open in Sony Vegas.

We hope that these lessons will help you in learning editing and the Sony Vegas video editor.

Hi all! Today we will move on to video editing. And first of all I would like to give you detailed instructions, how to use Sony Vegas Pro 13, even if you are a novice user. Today this program is one of the best. Of course, you can’t argue that Adobe Premiere is better, but Sony Vegas is no less functional and easier to learn. Many professional video bloggers and editors use this application, and the videos they produce are simply excellent. Of course, it’s impossible to fit everything into one article, but at least we will look at the basics, and then we will slowly get to something more serious.

Program interface

Before starting the work itself, I’ll briefly tell you about the program interface. The Sony Vegas Pro 13 program includes several areas:

  1. Main area (window). Various auxiliary parameters, effects, titles, as well as a media window into which all imported files will be loaded will be located here. You can hide and add windows as you wish.
  2. View window. This window is necessary for video editing, since here we can view what we have done on this moment.
  3. Artboard. This is where all the audio and video editing takes place. An edit consists of any number of tracks in which you can trim, splice, overlay media files, and much more.
  4. Track management area. Essentially, this is part of editing, as it is responsible for managing tracks on the timeline and adding effects to them. We will talk about all this in more detail later.

The rest doesn’t matter for now, since everything will come on its own during training.

How to open a media file

In order to open any media file (photo, video, audio) in Sony Vegas Pro, you need to go to the “File” - “Open” menu. After that, select one or more files.

All downloaded files will automatically be placed on the required tracks (we will talk about them later), but if you don’t need them yet, you can remove them from there by selecting each of them and pressing Delete. They will still remain in the media window and you can grab them at any time by dragging them onto the track.

To simply transfer video or audio to the media window without adding it to a track, click on “File” - “Import” - “Media” and select any files from your computer.

Besides. You can open a file by dragging it from Explorer into the program itself. To do this, press left button mouse on the video and simply drag it into the program window. If the application is minimized, then drag the file onto the application icon and wait until it opens itself.

Plus this method is that you can transfer the media file either directly to the track or to the media window. In this case, nothing will appear on the timeline, but you can move it there at any time.

Sony Vegas Basics

Let's look at how to use Sony Vegas Pro 13 using the example of creating a small clip. Let us initially have a couple of pieces of video and an audio file.

Preparation

Open all these media files and drag them all onto the tracks if necessary. You should have three tracks:

  1. Video track for two videos
  2. Audio track for the sound of these two videos
  3. A separate audio track with a sound file that we will overdub.

If the video is long, the track size will automatically shrink to fit on the screen. But you can always zoom in using three methods:

  • Mouse wheel up and down
  • Click on the plus and minus buttons in the lower right corner of the screen.

Delete an attached audio track

Since we are making a separate clip with a new sound, we need to get rid of the accompaniment that initially comes with the downloaded videos, and when we drag it out, the accompaniment is automatically pulled as well. But if we try to select and delete the attached sound, the video clip adjacent to it will also be deleted. But there is a way out.

To do this, you need to click on the adjacent audio track so that it is highlighted, then right-click on it and select “Group” - “Remove from”, or the key U on keyboard. Then a degrouping will occur and they will separate from each other.

After this, you can safely click on the audio and press the key Delete. You need to do the same with the rest of the rollers on the tracks.

To prevent an empty track from taking up unnecessary space, right-click on its control block, and then select “Delete Track”. Now everything is clear...

Video editing: trimming and splicing

Now let's proceed directly to video editing in Sony Vegas Pro so that we get a full-fledged clip. I already talked about this process in my article about, but now I will tell you about it in even more detail.

To begin with, we will trim only those parts of the video that we do not need, for example, we do not need the segment from 15 to 40 seconds at all. Then we stand at the fifteenth second of the track by clicking in the right place on the timeline (on the video). If you miss, you can move for the right time using the arrows on the keyboard.

Now press the key S on the keyboard, after which you will see that in this very place the track will split into two parts. If you need to separate the entire back part, then you don’t need to do anything else, and if you need to remove the whole segment, then in exactly the same way we go to the end of the unnecessary part of the track and press the S key again. You may notice that separation will occur again at this location.

Now, click on this segment so that it is highlighted, then right-click and select Delete, or press the key of the same name.

After this we will be left with a gap, that is, empty space after we cut out part of the track. In order to connect two parts and not leave a gap, left-click on the second part of the track and drag it to the first part. Towards the end, it will itself become magnetized to the backdrop. This way there will be no more gaps. By the way, you will also need to do the same with the second video, which we uploaded separately. But it would be great to make a beautiful and smooth transition, which I will tell you about in the next article.

If you need to remove only the end of the track, then you just need to move the cursor over the back area until its appearance changes, then hold down the left mouse button and drag it until everything unnecessary is gone. You can do the same with the beginning of the track. I usually use this trick to .

Well, the smooth fade out at the end will be the icing on the cake. To do this, stand on the corner behind the very last fragment of the track and start pulling slightly to the left using the left mouse button held down. In this case, a white semi-arc will be drawn on the fragment, which will indicate attenuation.

Duplicating a fragment

If any part of the track needs to be inserted somewhere else on the track, then you can use one of following methods:

Once you're done, be sure to see how it will look by pressing the play button and looking at the preview window. If everything worked out as it should, then we can start saving.

How to save video or audio in Sony Vegas pro 13

The program has two types of saving:

  • Saving a working file is necessary for intermediate recording, so that the material can be edited at any time. Is internal file Sony Vegas Pro and saves only settings, work and paths to edited files.
  • Export the finished video (rendering). Once you render the video, you can no longer edit it, since it becomes a full-fledged audio-video file, that is, everything merges together.

Saving a working project

To make an intermediate recording while saving all the work, you just need to select the menu “File” - “Save As”. after that, select a location on your hard drive where the file will be saved.

You can also select “Export” from the same File menu, where you will need to click on Vegas Project Archive (Veg).

Export of the finished project

But when your Sony Vegas Pro project is ready and you need to save it separate file in audio or video format, then go to the menu “File” - “Render”.

You will have a whole bunch of formats in which you can save the finished project. There are already several nuances here:

  1. At the top of the screen, select the path and name of the finished project. You can select the path by writing it manually, or specify the path to the folder by clicking the “Browse” button.
  2. Next, select the format. If you are making a video for the Internet, for example for YouTube, then you can choose Main Concept (mp4). And in the group that opens, select the item "Internet HD 1080" to select the highest quality.
  3. So that next time you don’t have to look required format, you can click on the star next to this item. Then it will change color. And next time all you have to do is tick the box "Show Favorites Only" to display only the formats you select.
  4. Finally press the button "Render", then sit back and wait for the save to finish. Depending on the duration of the finished project and the elements with effects involved, the retention time will either be long or not very long. But in any case, you will need patience. I remember once making a video for a friend and his fiancee when they got married. So it seemed like it was only 4 minutes long, but it lasted for 2 hours. But there I simply stuffed an enormous amount of everything, including various footage.

Bottom line

I hope that now you understand the basics of how to use Sony Vegas Pro 13, and now you can make a simple video. But this is just the beginning.

If you want to really learn video editing at a cool level, then I recommend you watch this killer course on working in Premiere Pro. This is a rather complex but highly professional video editor. Thanks to these lessons, you will easily learn how to use it and be able to make really cool videos. Highly recommend.

Well, this is where I end my article. I hope that you found it useful and interesting. Stay tuned to my blog so you don’t miss anything important and interesting, especially as part of my new video editing section. Good luck to you. Bye bye!

Of course, with each version the application acquires new functions and capabilities, but the general principle of operation remains unchanged. Therefore, our instructions for working with Sony Vegas will be relevant for both versions 13 and 16.

Program installation

The installation procedure is quite simple:

Interface overview

The Vegas interface is divided into several areas:

Installing codecs

A codec is a program that encodes and decodes multimedia files. Codecs themselves do not play media files, but they prepare them for playback on players and video editors. Therefore if video won't open, then the reason is most likely the lack of the required codec.

To work with Vegas Pro it is recommended to install immediately a package of codecs, so that in the future there will be no problems with opening files. It's called K-Lite Codec Pack.

How to create and configure a project

To create a new project, you need to launch Sony Vegas Pro and click on the “” icon on the toolbar.

For quality work in Vegas, it is recommended to first set up the project. Automatic setup used to preserve the original quality of the media file. Vegas Pro independently determines resolution, fields, frame rate and other parameters and, using this data, produces automatic setup, for this you need:

  1. In a new window, find the same file that is located in work area and press " Open».
  2. Save all changes.

How to add media files

There are several ways to add media files to Vegas.

How to trim a video

Trimming is one of the main actions that will allow you to master basic installation skills:

For convenience, after removing all unnecessary parts, you can move the resulting fragment to the beginning by dragging it with the mouse.

Adding Effects

Sony Vegas has a large number of effects in its arsenal:

Setting up transitions

Transitions are used for smooth unification several fragments together. To set a transition, you need to move one record to another so that they slightly overlap each other.

Can adjust smoothness, moving the fragment to the right and left. In addition, you can set a special effect in the “ Transitions».

How to rotate a video

To rotate a video, you can use two methods.

The first method is not complicated, but is done manually:

The second method is usually used for automatic rotation at 90, 180 or 270 degrees:

How to speed up or slow down recording

There are several ways to change the speed in Sony Vegas.

The first method is the simplest and fastest; it changes both audio speed:

  1. Press " Ctrl" and move the cursor to the edge of the fragment.
  2. Using left mouse button move the edge to the right or left, thereby slowing down or speeding up the video.

The disadvantage of this method is that it cannot be used to change the speed by more than 4 times.

Second way:

This method only changes the video, but the audio speed remains the same.

The third way is more fine tuning speed:

Creating titles and adding text

In Vegas Pro you can also work with text. You can create inscriptions, titles, and add animation to them.

Creating a Freeze Frame

A freeze frame is a static, that is, still frame. To create it in Sony Vegas you need:

How to zoom in on a video fragment

To zoom in on a frame, you only need to follow two steps:

How to stretch a video

To prevent black stripes from being visible on the sides of the frame, you can stretch it:

Reduce video size

After adding effects, animations, and other changes, the media file can take up a lot of space. Therefore, if desired, you can reduce its size:

Rendering acceleration

One of the most significant problems when working with Vegas Pro - rendering speed. Speed reflects all applied effects and animations, so it often happens that one short recording can take more than an hour to process.

There are several ways to speed up rendering. The first is due to quality:

The second way is to speed up processing via graphics card. It can be used if the card supports the technology OpenCL or CUDA. Then in the settings in the “Video” section you need to find “ Encoding mode" and select one of them.

How to remove green background

Chroma key is a technology for combining media files using a green background (sometimes blue). To process a recording made using this technology in Sony Vegas, you need to:

How to remove noise from audio

Noise in audio recordings is an inevitable nuisance under poor recording conditions, but editing can eliminate this problem completely or partially:

Deleting an audio track

If the audio track is no longer needed, you can delete it. To do this, you just need to right-click on the track itself and click on “”.

How to change your voice

Video stabilization

In Vegas Pro, you can correct camera shake, sudden jolts or jerks when shooting:

How to put multiple videos in one frame

In Sony Vegas Pro, you can use a technique that allows you to play multiple videos simultaneously in one frame:

The position in the frame can be adjusted as desired; you can set them evenly or slightly overlap each other, creating an interesting frame.

Video or audio fading

Fade is used to fade media elements in or out.

How to create a video fade effect:

Audio attenuation is created in the same way:

Color correction

It is with the help of color that a certain mood and atmosphere is set in a professional environment. Therefore, color correction is often used during installation.

The first correction method is to use color curves in Sony Vegas:

  1. Select from the list " Color curves».
  2. The dot located on the line in the upper right corner is intended for highlight adjustments. If you pull it to the left in relation to the diagonal, it will lighten light tones, and if you pull it to the right, it will darken.

The dot on the left controls dark tones. The principle of working with it is identical.

The second method is a color corrector:

The third way is to change the color balance:

Using Plugins

Sony Vegas Pro is professional program and it has a very wide range of tools, but if desired, you can expand this arsenal. Plugins are used for this. For example, here are several popular plugins: plugin. The only thing required is to specify the installation folder. It is recommended to select folder with the program, usually C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro\.

If the plugin was downloaded in *.rar or *.zip format, then it needs to be unpacked into the folder " FileIO Plug-Ins" It is located in the main folder.

Installed plugins are located in the “ Video special effects" If there are no plugins in this list, it means they are not compatible with this version of Sony Vegas.

Saving the project and outputting the video

It is important to save the project during work and upon completion of work so as not to lose data in the event of a failure. You can do this simply:

  1. After that click on “ Save».

The next thing you need to figure out is the output of the final video. To do this you need:

  1. In the " Project» select the best video rendering quality.
  2. Click " OK", saving the settings.
  3. In the main window, click on " Render».

After these steps, video processing will begin.

Possible mistakes

A wide variety of errors may occur when working with the program. Solutions vary depending on the cause, so it is often difficult to deal with the problem right away.

The most common mistakes:

  • Unmanaged Exception;
  • *.avi files cannot be opened;
  • error when opening the codec.

Unmanaged Exception error

One of the most common errors is “Unmanaged Exception”. Because of her Vegas Pro can't start.

Error code 0xc0000005 can be the result of various reasons. For example, the following may become an obstacle:

Ways to solve the problem:

*.avi files cannot be opened

Another problem that may arise is a problem with opening videos in *.avi format.

There are a few simple ways eliminating it:

  1. Download or update K-Lite Codec Pack. If the reason is the lack of codecs necessary for operation, then this will eliminate the problem.
  2. Install player Quick Time latest version.
  3. Remove codecs. Sometimes the cause of the error is the incompatibility of installed codecs with the program.
  4. Convert video recording in a different format.

Error opening codec

It often happens that at the very beginning of working with new program An error occurs periodically when opening a video.

Most often, the reason lies in the lack of codecs necessary for operation. In this case it is recommended to install or update the codec set.

The next thing to do is install or update Quick Time.

If the previous steps did not help solve the problem, you can simply convert the video to another format.

If any part of the track needs to be inserted somewhere else on the track, you can use one of the following methods:

Once you're done, be sure to see how it will look by pressing the play button and looking at the preview window. If everything worked out as it should, then we can start saving.

How to save video or audio in Sony Vegas pro 13

The program has two types of saving:

  • Saving a working file is necessary for intermediate recording, so that the material can be edited at any time. It is an internal file of Sony Vegas Pro and saves only settings, operation and paths to edited files.

But when your Sony Vegas Pro project is ready and you need to save a separate file in audio or video format, then go to the “File” - “Render” menu.

  3. To avoid searching for the required format next time, you can click on the asterisk next to this item.

Bye bye!

Best regards, Dmitry Kostin

2. Sequence of actions

The first thing is to first download and install codecs.

The second is to download and install the program.

Third, set up the program and project (you need to set it up when inserting the first video or picture or audio).

This is more correct. If during further work some problems suddenly occur in video recognition, then the codecs can be reinstalled again without deleting the previous version. Essentially, make updates.

You can configure the project in different ways. In this guide, I recommend setting it up so that you can get a high-quality output video and post it on YouTube.

6. Project setup

Before you start editing, set up your project for publishing on YouTube. It is advisable that you use HD or FullHD video. Project settings are located at the top left of the preview window.

Then move apart the resulting pieces of media and drag the video (audio) or picture to the resulting space on the track.

All individual fragments can be moved along the track, swapped, etc. by normal mouse dragging.

7. Sony Vegas transitions: How to make simple transitions from one video fragment (audio) to another

On one track, arrange the video (audio) files in the desired sequence.

To transition, move adjacent fragments so that one is partially on top of the other. Crossed transition lines (blue and white) will appear.
The duration of the transition is regulated by shifting the fragments. The more they overlap each other, the longer (longer in the frame) the transition from one video (audio) to another will be. The number of frames is indicated, you can’t go wrong.

8. Sony Vegas transitions: using Transitions (with different effects)

Select in tab Transitions the desired transition and drag it with the mouse to the area for changing fragments, which is discussed in paragraph 6.

If you don't like the result, select another transition and drag it onto the track. It is not necessary to delete the previous one; the last superimposed transition will take priority.

9. Sony Vegas transitions: Smooth and/or with effects the appearance of video (pictures) in the frame

In order for the video (picture) to smoothly appear in the frame or smoothly leave it, you need to find a small blue marker in the upper left (when entering) or in the upper right (when exiting).

Hover your cursor over it so that the transition icon appears—a triangle. Pull it to the side and a transition line will appear.

The pictures show the execution at the input. The same is done at the end of the file for exit.

Tab Transitions used for beautiful command or departure (flying in and out). Drag the selected transition with the mouse exactly as shown in step 7. The video will appear with the selected Transitions effects.

If you want to change the transition to another, you don’t have to delete the previous one, the new one will have priority.

10. Sony Vegas Pro increase volume, gain and attenuation of audio.

Performed exactly the same as in step 8, only without transition overlay. Simply shift the triangle at the beginning or end of the selected fragment.

Decrease or increase volume it can be done in different ways.

First– drag the mouse over the upper border (there is a blue marker strip) of the audio track on the timeline down/up. This is how the volume of a specific file changes. Others remain unchanged.

Second option– on the track control panel (in the picture in blue), move the volume level slider. This changes the volume of the entire track, that is, of all files located on a given audio track.

The maximum possible volume can be set in the mixer in the Master Bus window

Sony Vegas Pro how to save a video project and render the project

The concepts of “Save” and “Render” are different.

Render project - this is the output of the editing results in video format, you get a video that can be uploaded to social networks, etc.

11. Sony Vegas Pro How to save a project

The rendering topic is too large to fit into the basic rules, so choose the most common render format, Sony AVC/MVC and the INERNET option 1280 by 720 and 30 frame rate.

If you have a fragment of the project selected for rendering (when you want to get not everything that you have “done”, but only a part of the project that is highlighted with yellow markers), then check whether the checkbox is checked in the render settings tab, as shown below.

In other special cases, a different format may be required. For example, when saving an Alpha channel - files with the ability to make the background transparent.

Pull the corner handles and the image or video will shrink or enlarge. To maintain the aspect ratio, change the size while holding down the CTRL button.

If the synchronous display button is active, then you will see all changes in the preview window.

Working with a project - important rules

  • Store all media files (footage, pictures, audio, video, etc.) for each specific project in a separate folder. Save your project and render there.

Why is that?

The project does not contain the files themselves, but only indicates the path to the files that you use.

  • You can already use the resulting video for your purposes. Post on YouTube, social networks, website.

You will not be able to edit the finished video; it is a separate file without tracks. If you want to change anything, then return to the project, that is, to the Sony Vegas program. And you change everything you need in it.

On this brief introduction with basic commands and operations completed. This “Crib Sheet” will help you if you suddenly forget how this or that operation is performed, where to look for buttons, tabs, etc.

Remember that this is only a hundredth, if not less, part of the possibilities of Vegas. It is better to get acquainted with the rest as you work, since different operations are used for different tasks.
