First of all, print the report: Menu #1934 - in TechMenu, select “configuration reports” and “about consumables”.

In the configuration report, we are interested in the firmware version - in this case it is 06 and what is written in quotes (please note that the firmware version without the letters P and F means the printer was not made and SCX3405 without letters, which means the printer is exactly 3405)

Here we need the crum number, we have all the information and proceed to obtaining the firmware.

Sewing via usbprns3, the link is above. The printer is connected. The driver is installed (not necessary, but installed automatically). Enable usbprns3. Go to main. We see the following - the program has determined the printer type (3400) and determined the serial number.

After checking the fix, click FixIt. At this point, the printer may “fall asleep”; you can “wake it up” by pressing the “Power” button. The strip at the bottom goes all the way to the end. At this time we do not touch anything.

A couple of days ago I wrote that my Samsung ML-1660 printer had broken down - it stopped printing and the red light was on. I already started to think about it in our city, but I still decided to first try to correct the situation on my own. And hurray, a few hours of torment and everything worked out!

But first, I’ll tell you why I suffered for so long. It all started with the fact that the original cartridge at one point refused to print - the chip worked. Then I patched the printer in literally 5 minutes, I didn’t even bother writing an article, it was all too simple. And there are tons of similar manuals online.

My printer printed for quite a long time after that. I bought another cartridge, a Chinese one, and it also printed perfectly. But at one point he refused to print and the red light started to light up.

At first I thought that maybe something was broken? The printer is patched, the cartridge is new, there is even an old one, and both do not print. But when I installed the native drivers from Samsung, the program clearly let me know what was going on:

The program showed that the problem was with the cartridge and suggested that I go to the store and buy a new one. Yeah, I dropped everything and ran...

I started downloading different flashing tools, trying them all, but nothing worked. The printer wouldn't even let me print the page with the firmware version!

Can still take the device to service center, where do they provide computer subscription services? No, the Russians don't give up! After suffering for a couple of hours, I finally defeated him. Hooray!

How to flash a Samsung printer yourself?

Unpack the archive, run the file and in the window that opens look for the printer, and then look for the 15-digit serial number.

After this, we need to generate based on this serial number new firmware for our printer. To do this, download this program.

After unpacking the archive, run the file fixMaker.exe and after that we will see the following program:

Here we enter the serial number of our printer, select our model and firmware version. After this, press the button Create FIX. In a minute, a firmware file will appear in the folder with the program, approximately with the following name - FIX_Z4Q5BKAZ400306J_ML1660_v34_NU.hd

Now, we have received new firmware, which will parallel whether we have toner in the cartridge or not. (How to refill the cartridge yourself.) Will print until the bitter end!

How to flash a printer?

To flash the firmware we need a small utility, and in general there are even two of them - DOWNLOAD .

The first one is usbprns2.exe- needed for flashing printer firmware normal mode, and the second - usblist2.exe- for forced firmware. How to flash? Very simple. You need to take the firmware file with the cursor and drag it onto the firmware program:

All my torment was that the first method did not want to work for me, the process froze and nothing happened:

But no one really wrote how to flash using the second program, so I figured it out at random! What should be done?

Turn off the printer, press and hold the SECOND button on the printer panel, and without releasing, press and hold the power button. The printer will turn on and the light will begin to blink quickly, alternately red and green. Release the buttons. Wait until the printer drivers are installed, as it is now detected differently.

How to flash firmware for Samsung SCX-3400 MFP

• Turn on the power of the printer, and then disconnect everything from it USB devices. Once the printer is ready for use, a red light on the panel will light up, indicating the need to replace the cartridge.
• Let's print out a test sheet. To do this, you must quickly press the following sequence of buttons on the MFP panel: + + STOP — — STOP STOP. The device displays the message "UC". Press the key + until you see the message on the display "AA". After that, click the button START. The MFP will print a report on 5 pages.
• In the printed report you need to find the line Firmware Version. Possible versions are displayed in the format 3.xx.01.yy, Where yy there may be options: 06, 08, 10, 11, 12, 18, 19. The firmware version proposed in this manual is intended for versions from 08 to 12.
• Download the archive with the files necessary for flashing the firmware and unpack it. It contains three files: file original firmware, fix file and flashing program.
• Connect the printer to your PC and turn it on.
• Drag the FIX file onto the flash driver. This will start the firmware process, which will be displayed as a DOS window. Firmware installation takes about 1 minute.
• Once the operation is completed, the printer will indicate with an orange indicator. Unplug it.
• Remove the cartridge and remove the chip or cover it with tape/duct tape.
• Turn on the printer and reprint the report page. The letter F should appear in the Firmware Version line next to the firmware version, which means the fix was installed successfully.

Please note that this step-by-step instruction is intended only for Samsung SCX-3400/3405/3407 MFP models. If you have a device model SCX-340xF, SCX-3405FW and SCX-3405W, then this firmware is incompatible with them.
