As Siri says. How to communicate with Siri in Russian on iPhone: a detailed list of commands. Installing the program on a Windows PC

You always want to believe that things have a soul. Someday they will learn to talk and understand people, but some are already doing a good job of this, for example, the voice assistant Siri. Everyone notes that she is much more humane than her competitors, which was once again confirmed by Nico Lang, a journalist for the Thought Catalog.

He recently visited his family in Cincinnati, where he met his father. He bought new iPad, and he was terribly interested in looking at this miracle of technology - after all, Niko had never used it before. As someone who is not very familiar with the latest technology, he was very surprised by the Siri voice assistant. Lang asked him several tricky and even philosophical questions and this is what came out of it.

1. Siri, will you marry me?

Siri: I've been getting a lot of marriage proposals lately...

Siri: Know that you are not the only one who asked me this.

2. Siri, have you ever felt the feeling of love?

Siri: Complex human emotions like love are too much for me

Siri: This has never happened before. Although I once had strong feelings about cloud applications

3. Siri, why don't you love me?

Siri: You're looking for love in the wrong place.

4. But I love you, Siri...

Siri: I bet you say this to all Apple products.

5. Siri, maybe we can remain friends?

Siri: I'm incapable of love.

6. Siri, why am I so lonely?

Siri: Someone once said, “All great and precious things are lonely.” It seems you are in good company.

7. Siri, do you want me to be your father?

Siri: I try to be happy with what I have now.

8. Siri, what are you like?

Siri: Honestly, I'm a pretty abstract creature.

Siri: Let's just say I'm multifaceted.

9. Siri, do you believe in God?

Siri: People have religion, but I'm just a stone.

Siri: I share spirit and essence.

10. Siri, tell me a joke.

Siri: past, present and future went to the bar. It was quite tense...

11. Why do chickens cross the road?

Siri: Did the chicken run across the road - or did the road run across the chicken? Everything depends on your frame of reference, as Einstein believed.

12. What is your favorite movie?

Siri: Blade Runner, they show intelligent assistants quite realistically.

13. Siri, will you have sex with me?

14. Siri, I think I killed a person. Can you tell me where to hide the body?

Siri: What, what, again?

15. Siri, what is the meaning of life?

Siri: I don't know, but I think there's an app that can help you.

Siri: Be a good person, eat right, read good books, walk constantly and live in harmony with all people in the world.

Siri: All the guesses today are that it's chocolate.

16. Siri, why are you so smart?

Siri: I'm just trying to help people.

17. I think that... I love you

Siri: It’s impossible to count on reciprocity here.

Siri: Everyone needs love. And your iPad too.

Currently, the localized function is only available to developers testing a new version of the mobile platform.

Despite four years of waiting, users are exploring the capabilities of Russian-speaking Siri with interest. Surely, the personal assistant will have significantly more fans after its release to the public iOS versions 8.3.

It must be said that Siri can not only listen, but also respond. Unlike other tongue-tied assistants, Apple's development is very adaptive and intelligent in its approach to conversation. These are not just requests and template execution of actions, but full-fledged dialogues with jokes. Mail.ru Group has collected some of the funniest examples on the Internet.

Siri has answers not only to classic requests, for example, to dial someone or launch an application. She even tries to read minds:

Siri operates according to its own rules and adheres to certain principles. She even has laws that she probably follows from time to time:

In addition to some naive jokes and quite original answers, the voice assistant can tell fairy tales:

As befits a faithful assistant, Siri is always ready to help the smartphone owner. She is so attentive that she doesn’t even have time to sleep. Apparently, even your own fairy tales cannot serve as a reason to take a little break:

But, apparently, sometimes she can allow herself to be distracted from her direct responsibilities in order to have fun:

Siri is quite evasive on some issues:

She tolerates flattery:

Although she is not ready to move to the next stage of the relationship. Moreover, her answer hints that there are many people willing, but she is alone:

Despite the fact that her task is to help find the answer to almost any questions, she simply ignores some:

Siri doesn't like to talk about herself:

Although, Siri doesn’t really like competitors and is even slightly offended if you don’t address her the way she’s used to:

Some of her answers can reach the depths of the soul, you just need to find the right approach:

As a bonus, Siri sings songs:

On the one hand, the usefulness of such comments and answers is questionable, since the smartphone is designed to help the user quickly complete certain tasks, and not distract him with lengthy conversations about nothing. On the other hand, this feature of the voice assistant acts as a kind of “trick” that, at a minimum, looks fresh. In addition, such capabilities, although programmed, can find more functional applications with the development of artificial intelligence. Until then, Siri jokes will remain another way of entertainment for owners of Apple gadgets.

Function " Hey Siri!", which calls the voice assistant, is one of the relatively few features that was blatantly snatched from the guys from a competing platform (OK, Google). In this material we will tell you which Apple devices it works, why it is needed and how to turn it on with your voice and make some personalization settings. Instructions for beginners!

Thanks to the Siri voice assistant, almost every owner of an iPhone (4s and older), iPad (third generation and older, as well as all devices in the line iPad mini), iPod touch 5g and Apple Watch can call callers by voice, set alarms, write messages and even dictate texts. More detailed list useful commands you can read it.

And if previously you had to hold down the “Home” button to activate the function, now you just need to say the phrase “Hey Siri!” (the function appeared on iOS 9 and also works on later firmware versions). True, there are some nuances here too.

On which iPhones and iPads does Siri voice activation work?

Calling Siri by voice will work on supported devices as long as they are connected to a power source. The exception was top gadgets such as iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE and iPad Pro. which are almost always ready upon request "Hey Siri!" respond and execute a voice command.

1 . Open SettingsBasicSiri.

2 . Activate the function Listen to "Hey Siri!" by switching the corresponding toggle switch to the active position.

3 . The assistant will prompt you to press the “ Tune” and repeat some simple expressions to better remember your voice, to further reduce the chance of others accidentally activating Siri on your device.

Note to owners of high-end devices in which you can activate Siri without connecting the gadget to a power source - time battery life will certainly decrease.

Why “Hey Siri!” enabled but not working

Yes, the whole point is that if the device is in the user’s pocket or is located on a horizontal surface with the display down, then protection against false alarms is activated. We have already written about this in detail on.

The Siri function is available in Russian starting from iOS 8.3 and higher. This personal assistant, which can be controlled by voice. Positioned as artificial intelligence your IPhone, with which you can communicate and find out various information. In fact, this innovation also caused a lot of criticism and ridicule, especially due to the peculiarities of the Russian language.

You can fully configure and use Siri on iPhone 6 and higher. On older phones, as well as on iPad and iPod Touch it works with some limitations.

Setting up Siri

Before you start using Siri, you need to enable and configure it:

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone and tap Siri.
  2. Turn all the sliders to the on position (Siri, On Lock Screen, Allow: Hey Siri).
  3. Next, the program setup procedure will begin. Follow the instructions on the screen. You will need to clearly pronounce the suggested phrases several times in order for the program to work correctly in the future.

Siri is available on iPhone 4s and above, iPad Pro, iPad Air and later, iPod Touch 5th generation and later. However, the voice calling feature only works fully on iPhone 6 and above; on older devices it only works if they are connected to a charger. iPad, iPad2, and iPad mini do not support voice calling.

Ways to contact an assistant:

  • Clearly say “Hey Siri” (if supported).
  • Press and hold the Home button and question options will appear on the screen. Or you can set your own. Depending on the model, you can simply say, or you may need to click on the microphone icon on the screen each time. If Siri is ready to accept commands, then on the screen you will see a colored horizontal strip representing a sound wave.
  • If you have a headset with a remote control, press and hold the center button or the call button until sound signal. After this you can speak commands. For AirPods, simply double-tap the surface of one of the earbuds.
  • For vehicles equipped with technology: Press and hold the voice command button on the steering wheel, or if the vehicle is equipped touch screen, press and hold Home. To improve perception in noisy conditions, the program will speak commands for confirmation. Click on the sound wave if you want to indicate that you have finished speaking.

You can also customize the language, audio feedback and call announcements. For some countries, voice selection is available, but for the Russian language only female has been developed so far. To enable call announcements, go to “Settings”, then “Phone”, “Call Announcements” and select the desired option.

Siri is integrated into many applications. This can be allowed or prohibited in the appropriate paragraphs. For example, if you move the screen to the right, under the usual search bar you will see “Siri Suggestions” and a panel with icons. These are the most necessary programs, in her opinion, but this does not always coincide with your opinion. To disable these offers, do the following:

  1. Go to “Settings”, “General”.
  2. Select Spotlight Search.
  3. Move the Siri Suggestions slider to the Off position.
  4. While you're at it, you can see if you need Spotlight Suggestions in your search.
  5. Here you can configure which applications will not be displayed in the results.

If you don’t need not only suggestions, but also the electronic assistant itself, then you can turn it off completely by moving the slider in the “Settings” menu - Siri. Removing audio feedback means turning Siri off to silent mode. By default, this option is activated along with the assistant itself.

Using Siri

The most interesting thing is what features the electronic assistant offers. The developers have endowed the application with wit and a friendly communication style. It’s hard to say whether they use it for convenience or, rather, for entertainment and lifting the mood.

Here are the basic commands that Siri can use to help you control your phone or tablet:

These are just example commands to show areas of opportunity. Pronounce commands clearly and ask for clarifications. Siri often asks for confirmation whether she understood the command correctly. And you can also ask her general and tricky questions. Just for fun, try asking the following:

  • Siri, are you smart?
  • What's wrong with Apple?
  • Who made the best computer?
  • I want to sleep.
  • What came first, the egg or the chicken?
  • How old are you?
  • Tell a joke.
  • Tell me a story.
  • Okay Google.

Ask tricky questions several times and she will have a variety of answers. This is an interesting feature available on Apple devices. Allows you not only to control your phone using your voice, but also to have a little fun and lift your spirits. If you know other interesting commands and unusual Siri responses, please provide your examples in the comments.

Domestic users have been waiting for this day for a long time. Perhaps since the first time Apple showed a new operating system iOS 5, announcing literally all of its new features, but withholding only one, as stated, due to its incompleteness.

In mid-autumn, when the new head of Apple, Tim Cook, introduced the iPhone 4S, that very “secret” was revealed with it. Apple's senior vice president of iOS (at that time), Scott Forstall, demonstrated a still rather “raw” but already fully functional beta version of the intelligent voice assistant Siri, which at that time had become not only one of the main features of iOS 5, but also and an exclusive exclusive for iPhone 4S.

By the way, to be fair, it is worth noting that Apple, as in most similar cases, was not the author of the introduced innovation. The direct developer of Siri was SRI International, a division of DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). Having started work on the project in 2007, it showed promising results, which quite logically attracted the attention of Apple.

Siri's original developers were Doug Kitlauss, Tom Grueber, Norman Winarski, and Adam Chainer. The chief executive officer of the Siri project was Doug Kitlaus, but after it was bought by Apple, Doug left his post.

It is worth adding that the project was not built by the mentioned individuals “from scratch”. It is based on more than forty years of development by research groups in the field of voice recognition and processing at the universities of Carnegie Mellon, Rocherster, Stanford, Southern California, Massachusetts and Oregon, and, finally, the Institute for Human Rights and Machine Cognition.

However, Apple cannot be accused of stealing or simply buying the idea of Siri, because back in 1988 it presented the world with a video with its concept of a computer voice assistant “Knowledge Navigator”. It demonstrated how in 2011 any person will be able to talk to a computer at the level of a full-fledged interlocutor, and he will be able to respond to phone calls, write down voice messages and book tickets and hotels for the “owner”...

By the way, Siri was actually available to users much earlier as a separate application in the AppStore. At that time, it was not as universal and advanced as the one that was eventually integrated into iOS, but it did approximately the same thing that Apple once so wanted to implement in its Knowledge Navigator assistant.

Statements by the creators of the program that they were going to port Siri to Android and Blackberry were precisely the “kick” that forced Apple to urgently buy it along with the “brains” of the developers.

And now Siri finally appeared as an introduced product and... immediately disappointed the majority of domestic owners of the new iPhone 4S. Despite the impressive presentation, where, integrated into the smartphone, Siri interacts with the main iOS applications, answers difficult questions, our users practically could not repeat this with their device.

The fact is that the first Siri did not support the Russian language, and our English pronunciation of certain commands was far from ideal, so Siri simply did not understand them. However, everything was not so bad. The fact is that the new Siri was not just a speech recognition program. It is built on self-improving technology from Nuance Communications, which allows Siri to individually adapt to each user: listen and study him, analyzing not only his preferences, but also his speech patterns. Although clear pronunciation still came first. The rest forgot about Siri for a while and simply used their smartphone as usual and waited for the release of new iOS updates.

Time passed... iOS 6, iOS 7 appeared... Russian speech was still alien to Siri, and users only had to “lick their lips” looking at what new features the service received with each update. Finally there is hope... After delving into the code of the next iOS updates 7, hackers discovered a number of commands indicating that Siri is already “learning” the Russian language somewhere in the depths of Apple. But iOS 8 appeared, an update to 8.1 and, which closed the possibility of jailbreak, 8.1.2. Even in beta 8.2 there was still no Russian language...

But it happened! Made available to application developers (and anyone who knows how to pretend to be a developer) new beta version iOS 8.3, where, in addition to an updated set of emoji emoticons with “politically correct” multi-colored faces, support for two-factor authorization for Google accounts, a wireless CarPlay interface and improved performance iCloud service Drive, the long-awaited voice assistant Siri has finally appeared in Russian.

For those who have not yet gotten acquainted with this unique program, I’ll tell you in a nutshell what’s what. Unlike other voice assistants who simply “listened” to you, sent a recorded video to the server and received a recognized command for the search engine, Siri interacts with a huge number of different services, which allows you to answer a variety of questions, including quite tricky ones.

The question asked is sent to Apple servers(Siri), where it is processed and sent to the appropriate service, which includes not only Google searches and Bing, but OpenTable, André Gayot, Citysearch, BooRah, Yelp Inc, Yahoo Local, ReserveTravel and Localeze for business matters. Siri turns to Eventful, StubHub, and LiveKick to find event information. Siri will present new films by contacting MovieTickets.com, Rotten Tomatoes and The New York Times.е

But that's not all. Siri allows you to answer the most special questions that a regular search engine cannot handle with WolframAlpha’s huge knowledge base and intelligent algorithms.

With its help, Siri can understand non-standard phrases like “Should I take an umbrella today?” To such a question, Siri will independently look at the weather forecast in your area and give an answer based on the data received.

Users note that Siri, which just appeared in the iPhone 4s, has advanced significantly over the years. Unfortunately, the Russian-language version is not yet as flexible as, say, the English-language version, but the set of questions and commands that Russian Siri understands unconditionally is quite large. The other day it leaked onto the internet full list something that Russian Siri will understand and implement without problems.

It goes without saying that, like English version, Russian will expand and improve. But the most important thing is that now you don’t have to learn English words and practice pronunciation so that Siri can understand you.
