How to install applications in ifile. The process of installing iFile on an iPad tablet. Installing tweaks using iFunBox

Unlike other file managers, iFile is installed not on a computer, but on the iPhone itself from Cydia. There is a free and paid version of the application. But even the free one has great functionality.

Despite the fact that the program runs directly on the iPhone, it is currently the most powerful file manager. All other applications installed on the computer do not reach its level. iFile is somewhat more than a simple manager; the application works as a file viewer, including office documents, and as a link to other applications. With all the variety of functions, the program is intuitive, and largely thanks to the interface translated into Russian.

iFile can:
Copy, create, move and rename any files and folders. And also change the attributes of files and folders.

The program implements a search for files on the phone. It is available everywhere, just scroll up the page.
iFile can archive files in zip format. Simply select the desired folder or file and specify the name of the new archive.
You can also immediately send the file to email from the program interface. Click on the envelope button and a new letter will be immediately created with the selected file as an attachment.

Other useful features of the program:
Display media files with normal track names, and not in digital form, as they are stored in the phone's file system. Here you can play the desired music or video file. The situation is similar with the Applications folder; all programs are shown as they are called in real life.

Files that iFile can open with its viewer:
text: txt, doc, docx, rtf, pdf
scripts and settings files: c, cfg, cnf, conf, cpp, css, h, j, java, js, list, log, m, nib, php, plist, script, sh, strings, xib, xml
spreadsheets: xls, xlsx, numbers
presentations: ppt, pptx, key
archives: zip, 7z, deb, rar, tar, gz, bz2, tgz
web pages: htm, html
audio: aac, aiff, aif, aifc, amr, alac, caf, m4a, m4r, mp2, mp3, mpga, pcm, snd, wav, wma
video: mov, mp4, mpv, m4v, 3gp
graphics: gif, jpeg, jpg, png, tiff, tif, bmp
The files being viewed are also searchable within the document.

And some formats can be edited txt, doc, docx, rtf, htm, html, sql

iFile allows you to look into the phone's file system from the outside, through the web browser of any computer. Not just look, but also download or upload the necessary files.
To do this, you need to activate the web server function. After this, access to the phone will be possible via the Wi-Fi network.

Despite the fact that the program runs directly on the iPhone, it is currently the most powerful file manager. All other applications installed on the computer do not reach its level.

iFile is an advanced file manager with an archiving function, remote connection to servers via network protocols and viewing of various types of files. The program has long gone beyond a simple file manager and provides a comprehensive list of capabilities for creating, organizing and managing the contents of the iOS file system on the iPhone.

For example, you can download a video from the Internet and view it within the program without having to open the file in a third-party application. The file can be uploaded to your cloud storage or your own web server, or sent to friends by mail.

With all the variety of functions, the program is intuitive, and largely thanks to the interface translated into Russian.

iFile can:

  • create text files and folders;
  • edit iOS files (configuration files);
  • copy and move files from one folder to another
  • view images and PDF;
  • play audio and video;
  • archive files;
  • edit tables (SQL);
  • change file attributes and user rights;
  • connect to a remote server via FTP and WebDav protocols;
  • upload selected files to Dropbox and Google Drive cloud services;
  • send files by mail;
  • install deb packages (applications and themes from Cydia);
  • supports multi-window mode.

You will have full control over the iOS file system and will be able to manage its contents at your discretion.

Just be careful, changes to system files can cause the device to crash.

The paid version of the program also includes the following additional functions:

  • search by file name;
  • text search;
  • playing playlists;
  • displaying song titles instead of file names;
  • displaying thumbnail pictures;
  • opening files in iFile via the ifile:// protocol;
  • additional file viewing tools.

To install and operate the program, you must first jailbreak iOS and install an alternative application store, and then use the search to find iFile, buy and install.

The cost of the manager in the official repository is $4.0, which is quite expensive for amateurs, but pennies for iOS developers. Currently, iFile is the best file manager for iPhone and iPad. And what’s nice is that the application is updated and improved with each version.

For some, installing tweaks on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad does not cause any problems, but this is not the case for everyone! Some people still don't know that tweaks can be installed without even starting Cydia! Now we will tell you all the popular ways to install tweaks! Perhaps some will learn a lot of new things, and some will consolidate what they have already learned!

We'll start with theory, let's get started.

.deb- extension of file names of “binary” packages for distribution and installation of software on the OS of the Debian project, and others using the dpkg package management system. Deb this is part of the word Debian, in turn, formed from the words Debra- the name of the girlfriend (later wife, now former) of Debian founder Ian Murdoch and Ian on his own behalf.

Perhaps many users have encountered such files in Linux and its variants. But we don’t have Linux, we have iOS. Therefore we can say this:

.deb are packages that include programs, tweaks and other improvements for the iOS mobile operating system.

Now let's move on to practice.

Installing tweaks from Cydia.

This method is the first and easiest. We will only use Cydia. For all operations we will need the Internet.

  1. from which you want to download the tweak.
  2. In the search, enter the desired name of the tweak.
  3. After you have found the tweak you need, click on it and on the page that opens, click the “ install«

Installing tweaks using iFunBox.

Will need: PC with iFunBox + .deb package of the tweak itself.

Even if you have a dozen repositories installed, they do not guarantee that you will have the tweak you need. The easiest way is to go online and get the .deb package you need on some forum! But what to do after you have already downloaded the .deb package? You can’t install it as a simple application via iTunes!

  1. Launch the iFunBox program

We see two areas:

  1. Folder tree
  2. Thumbnails of sections of the selected device.

We want to install a tweak on iPod Touch. it is connected by a cord, but there is also an iPad on our Wi-Fi network, which we can also work with! But what we need now is the iPod.

Click on it in the folder tree, click on the “install applications from Cydia” section.

As you can see, we don't have any .deb packages in the queue for installation. We will transfer the installer of the tweak you need there from any location. You can also click on the “Copy from PC” button. A standard explorer will open where you should find your .deb file on your PC.

After you have transferred the tweak to this section, reboot your device.

After the reboot, the tweak will already be installed on your device and ready to use.

Note: “Some tweaks work together.” After the device has turned on, go to Cydia, select the installed tweak and click on “ Reinstall“Perhaps the necessary tweaks will be installed on their own!”

Installing tweaks using iFile.

You can install the .deb package without having a PC nearby, but having iFile (a program from Cydia) on your device.

Installing tweaks in the form of .deb packages looks like this:

  1. Download the .deb package to your device, you can do this through any browser by clicking open in iFile after opening this file in the browser.
  2. After clicking “Open in iFile”, you will be transferred to the program.
  3. Click on the .deb package.
  4. A menu will open with a choice of actions, click “Install”.
  5. The installation will begin.
  6. Just in case, we recommend rebooting your device.
  7. Ready!

We told you about the main ways to install a tweak, of course, you will mostly install tweaks from Cydia - this will be the right decision!

We hope that in the future, installing tweaks will not cause you any problems, but, on the contrary, will bring only positive emotions and not difficulties.

Is downloading them directly from the repositories of the online store Cydia. However, not everyone knows about an alternative way to install deb extensions from the store (Saurik). Of course, you can only install tweaks on a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Why then do we need another method, you ask. But why. For example, if there is no constant access to a Wi-Fi network or the application itself Cydia refuses to start or works incorrectly.

The reason may be even more banal, in Cydia a repository in which the tweak is distributed for free has not been added, and a disinfected version of the extension in deb format has been circulating on the Internet for a long time.

All tweak installation packages have the extension “ .deb“, only these and no other files can be installed using this method. Please note that sometimes extensions are packaged in an archive and must be unzipped before installation. So, to install a deb package using a PC, you will need any file manager or . Both programs are free and available for both Windows and OS X. The *.deb tweak file downloaded from the Internet can be simply transferred to the folder Cydia-Installation or CydiaAppinstall(depending on the file manager). There is no need to look for it; each program contains a separate link for this path in the file system access menu. Just in case, I’ll still say that the path to this folder is as follows: .
You can copy several required deb packages to this folder at once. Please note that some tweaks are installed along with dependencies (other tweaks), without which they will not work. Sometimes the authors of distribution of deb files include them in the distribution or save them in one archive; all of them must be installed along with the extension. After copying, just restart the iDevice; when you turn on the device, the tweak will be installed. There are cases when a tweak does not work entirely correctly; to fix the problem, it is enough to respring it in any available way.
The second method of installing deb packages allows you to do without a computer at all. In this case, you must have a file manager installed on your device. By the way, this application is a prime example of a deb application with a large number of dependencies during installation.
In Safari, just click on the link to download the deb file and the browser itself will offer to open it in iFile. By clicking on the tweak, you will see a pop-up menu with the function “ Install» (« Install"), she is responsible for installing the extension. After loading, just make sure that the last line of text displayed on the screen contains “O”. This line notifies you about errors when installing the tweak. If an error occurs, you can do it differently: copy the deb file along the path /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall and reboot the iDevice.

Sometimes you come across a situation where interesting utilities are only available in the form DEB package. There are several ways to install DEB; everyone chooses which one to use.

Theory:
There are two types of programs on iPhone/iPod/iPad - .IPA or .DEB

IPA are programs and games downloaded from the iTunes AppStore. They download and install themselves, in one click (this is Apple :)), but they can also be found on the Internet.
DEBs are installation packages for programs and tweaks that can be downloaded from Cydia. Cydia is an alternative application installer that appears after a jailbreak. When downloading programs from Cydia, you usually won’t even see DEB files - they are deleted immediately after installation. But if you downloaded the DEB file not from Cydia, but somewhere on the Internet, you will not find an obvious way to install such a file. Therefore, 4 ways to install them are described below.

Method #1: Through Terminal(the most difficult).

  • You must have a terminal installed - either MobileTerminal from Cydia, or configured access to the iPhone from a computer using the SSH protocol
  • copy .deb to the phone ( /var/mobile);
  • enter the commands in the terminal

    su root
    alpine (when typing this word, letters will not appear on the screen, this is normal)
    dpkg -i filename.deb

    How to install the terminal?

    2. Search “Mobile Terminal”

    3. Install “Mobile Terminal”

    4. Install “OpenSSH” from Cydia

    5. Start “MobileTerminal”

    6. Type commands as given below:

    • su(press return)
    • alpine(press return) (typed password would be invisible)
    • dpkg -i nameofpackage.deb(press return, exchange "nameofpackage" with name of .deb file Lockinfo)

    Reboot your device

    Method #2: Through Cydia(if you have access to the file system via cord)

    • copy.deb to phone at /var/root/media/Cydia/AutoInstall(if you don’t have the last two folders, create them);
    • reboot the phone (respring is not good, you need a full reboot);
    • when you start the phone, Cydia will install all the deb files that are in this folder;
    • If, after the reboot is complete, the AutoInstall folder is empty, it means everything was successful.
    • if the application icons still do not appear, then launch Cydia and install all the additional packages that it asks for). If it’s not empty, most likely you made a mistake and created the Autoinstall folder in the wrong place :) or try it with a terminal and you’ll find out exactly what the error is.

    Method #3: Through Cider(elementary, but you need Cydia on the device)

    • You launch Cider on your computer (with an iPhone connected via a cord), and when you launch it for the first time, it will create all its folders on the computer.
    • In the Archives folder that will be created, copy the necessary .debs, launch Cider again so that it sees them
    • On the “Synchronization” tab, we see our packages in the list, and here you can choose where they can be copied to the iPhone - to the Cydia cache or to the AutoInstall folder (the folder must first be created, see method No. 2). It depends on who, if one method doesn’t work, the second will work.
    • Cydia cache - this means that after copying you need to launch Cydia, select the program you want to install in the search, and run the installation - it will be installed immediately, without downloading from the Internet;
    • AutoInstall is the same as in method No. 2 - after copying, you need to restart the iPhone, and the program will install itself during this reboot, you don’t have to do anything with your hands.

    Method #4: Via iFile(on the phone itself).

    • Requirement: First you need to install the latest version of the iFile application from Cydia, BigBoss repository
    • Download your deb file to your phone in any way available to you and put it in any folder available to you
    • Open iFile on your phone, go to the folder where you put the deb
    • Open the deb and click on the Install button that appears
    • Profit! If necessary, reboot your phone.
