How to choose a hard drive: advice from professionals. Maximum memory card capacity

DVRs are widely popular among car owners. In addition to their main purpose (helping to reconstruct events in the event of an accident), they also have a number of additional functions that make driving even more convenient and comfortable.

This demand encourages manufacturers to produce a variety of recorder models, equipped with different functions and significantly different in cost. How to choose a DVR for a car without getting confused in the range offered?

Of course, you can contact a specialized store with a request “help me choose a DVR” and hope that the sellers are conscientious, but it is much better to try to figure out the issue yourself. How to choose a good DVR?

There is a lot of information on this topic on the Internet; you can easily find an information article or just watch a review. A DVR for a car is selected based on its functions, price-quality ratio, and available budget.

Car video recorders are small devices, often equipped with a display. Their main function is to record in real time while the vehicle is moving. In the minimum configuration, the car video recorder has:

The recorder may or may not have additional functions, and the price of the device depends on this, as well as on the manufacturer.

How to choose the right DVR for your car? There is no clear answer to this question, since the purposes for which the device is purchased may vary. There is absolutely no need to buy the best recorder if its main purpose is ordinary video recording.

An inexpensive DVR will do the job well.

It will be correct to choose a DVR according to its parameters. It is based on them that you can decide which DVR is better to choose.

What criteria should you use to make a choice?

First of all, it is worth remembering that this device is necessary for video surveillance. Therefore, the main quality by which you can choose a car DVR should be the ability to record video in proper quality.

It, in turn, depends both on the software capabilities of the device (video in HD or Full HD format) and on the specific optics installed in this model.

An image in Full HD quality is the most preferable, but the price of recorders capable of recording video in this format is higher.

The most modern models record images in Super HD format; it is quite possible that in 2017 they will completely replace matrices that record Full HD; besides, you can always switch from a higher video quality to a lower one in the settings.

The easiest way to evaluate the optical properties of a recorder is to watch a video on the Internet.

In this case, you should definitely look for recordings made with a specific recorder at different times of the day and in different weather conditions in order to evaluate how the mechanism regulates the brightness of the image.

Glass lenses have better performance, while plastic lenses become cloudy and lose their properties over time.

Viewing angle

Another characteristic of video recording is the viewing angle covered by the recorder. The optimal value in this case will be 130-140 degrees.

There is simply no need for a larger angle: it will provide slightly more information, but the video quality will deteriorate significantly.

On the other hand, it is also undesirable to choose a smaller angle: in this case, the surrounding area will most likely not be included in the recording and important information may be missed. For example, a video recorder with a low viewing angle may miss the “main road” sign installed on the side of the road, and in the event of an accident it will be more difficult to prove its case.

Record

Obviously, the video captured by the recorder must be recorded somewhere. The vast majority of car video recorder models use a micro SD memory card. In rare cases, you can find models that record images on an SD card or hard drive for a DVR.

The standard memory capacity for a DVR is 16 gigabytes, but almost all varieties can support larger cards. Also, some types of recorders are equipped with built-in memory, but its volume is extremely small and its use is not recommended.

To increase the amount of information recorded on the card, you can change the video settings, selecting the most convenient and appropriate video format, frame rate and type of encoding and compression used.

Obviously, HD video will take up less space than Super HD, for example, and video with a 60 frames per second stream will take up more space than with a 30 frames per second stream.

Unfortunately, the capacity of even the largest memory card is limited and sooner or later runs out. Since the recorder should not stop recording even for a minute, the manufacturers chose this solution: when the space on the card runs out, the oldest files begin to be overwritten. The stream itself is divided into parts, the duration of which in most cases is configurable. The length of one fragment ranges from 1 minute to 15 minutes.

A five-minute rewriting cycle is considered optimal for driving around the city. If you get into an accident, it will be much easier to navigate in five-minute fragments than in many short one-minute fragments, and there is a high probability that this segment will include the entire incident. On the other hand, when making excursion trips or talking with a traffic police inspector, it is more profitable to set the rewriting cycle to 15 minutes so that information is recorded in a continuous stream.

The selected car video recorder must be securely attached to the windshield of the car, otherwise it loses its meaning: with shaking and vibration, the quality of the video noticeably deteriorates, and it becomes impossible to make out specific details of what happened.

The vast majority of models are now equipped with a suction cup mount. The advantages of this method are obvious: if necessary, the recorder can be easily transferred to another car, and also put away at night for greater safety (unfortunately, this technique attracts increased attention from criminal elements).

The disadvantage of this method is that in the cold season it can be very difficult to secure the device.

When choosing, you need to pay attention to the bracket: on the one hand, the fewer parts it contains, the less the device will be subject to shaking, but on the other hand, it is recommended to choose a bracket with a 360-degree rotation. This structure will allow, if necessary, to film what is happening in the cabin or on the side of the car (for example, a traffic police inspector).

Another disadvantage of the suction cup may be its massiveness. In combination with a large recorder, the system can cover a fairly large area of the windshield, thereby impairing the driver’s visibility while driving.

The second common option is double-sided tape. Recorders equipped with it are usually small in size, often even without a screen. In this case, it is not intended that the device will be removed and carried. They don't attract much attention, but they can still be a target for theft, and they can't be rotated to change the view.

Relatively recently, car recorders have appeared that are attached directly to the mirror. They are practically invisible, and in addition do not block the driver’s view.

GPS sensor

This function is optional, but it can make life much easier for the driver. With the help of software settings, the DVR will be able to warn about approaching cameras and radars, and show the trajectory of movement.

The main function of this sensor is to display speed in real time and on record. On the one hand, this is a definite plus: such an argument can easily defeat most charges and prove the driver’s innocence in a given situation.

This function is quite convenient if the screen constantly displays the maximum permissible speed on a given section of the road. But, on the other hand, if the speed limit is violated, such a recording can also testify against the driver.

The optimal solution in this case are models in which you can disable speed recording on video when exceeding a certain mark or at your own request.

G-sensor

This function is also present in the vast majority of models. Otherwise it is called a “shock sensor”. Its essence lies in the fact that when struck (the strength of which must be calibrated in advance), the recording of a given time period cannot be deleted from the memory card by anything other than formatting. This protects the driver from accidentally destroying important information that can help restore the picture of an accident.

This function can also work autonomously in some models, which is very useful if the car is caught in a parking lot and fled the scene.

Screen

Strictly speaking, there is no need for a screen to record video, but its presence greatly makes life easier for the driver.

Firstly, if you have a screen, you can best install the camera and adjust its viewing angle. Secondly, the screen can be indispensable in a dispute with a traffic police inspector (for example, in a situation where he unfairly accuses a driver of a violation).

In this case, it will be possible to immediately view the recording of what happened, after which the questions, as a rule, will be removed. But the size of the screen is not important: in the event of a conflict, a small screen will be enough to establish the chain of events, and it is much more convenient to view full recordings on a computer. There is no need for a big screen.

Length of cable

In most cases, the recorder is powered from the cigarette lighter. Therefore, when choosing, be sure to pay attention to the length of the standard cable: a size that is too short will limit the placement of the device, and a size that is too long will interfere with your right hand. The optimal cable length is one meter.

Other functions

Car recorders can be equipped with other functions: an additional slot into which a second memory card is inserted, LED backlight, photography, HDMI connector, interior recording and many others. However, often these features are nothing more than marketing ploys, not bringing any real benefit, but at the same time significantly increasing the price of the car video recorder. It is better to avoid such functions when purchasing.

Manufacturer

Which is the best DVR manufacturer? Nowadays, Korean companies demonstrate the highest quality. DVRs from China and Taiwan have approximately the same reliability, but the latter look more attractive due to higher quality case materials. Which brand of device to buy depends only on personal preferences.

It is not necessary to purchase products from a well-known brand if there is no need for a truly functional and durable device. In ordinary everyday situations, inexpensive Chinese recorders will cope with their function, although their quality will be somewhat lower. Depending on your needs, the answer to the question of which DVR to choose will vary.

When it comes to choosing a projector, many of us want to get the highest quality equipment at the lowest cost. However, often, guided by misconceptions about the required projector parameters, buyers have to pay twice. For example, you may find that the cost of replacing a burnt-out lamp is comparable to the cost of purchasing a new projector.

What parameters should you use to choose a projector to avoid ending up in a similar situation? The answers can be found in our article.

Ultra short throw projectors

Lamp life

First of all, you should decide for what purpose you will use your projector. If you are going to use it in educational institutions not only autonomously, to display slide shows, but also to combine it with an interactive whiteboard, you should pay attention to such a parameter as the lamp life.

The lamp operating time in cheap models is very short, and the cost of replacing it is equal to the cost of a new projector or even higher. Therefore, it is very important that the resource declared by the manufacturer is at least 10 thousand hours. High-quality projectors will last about 5 years and will notify you in advance of the need to replace the lamp.

Our company's specialists recommend Casio projectors. Projectors of this brand do not have lamps at all and last 20 thousand hours. In addition, Casio projectors are not afraid of sudden power outages. For cheap projectors, this usually ends in a lamp explosion. You can read about other advantages of Casio projectors in ours.

Projection distance

Projectors also differ in the distance over which the image is transmitted. If you are purchasing an interactive whiteboard, then the best solution for you will be a short-throw or ultra-short-throw projector. Such projectors have a lot of advantages. You will avoid unwanted shadows on the screen that interfere with the learning process. And the bright light of the lamp will no longer blind the teacher. You also get better quality images with the same lamp brightness. An important detail is that the ultra-short throw model comes with a bracket. Therefore, you will not have to incur additional costs for its purchase. Installation of such projectors is simple, and the final appearance is more aesthetic.

Brightness

It is not uncommon for situations when, having already purchased and installed a projector, you turn it on and discover that the picture is not bright enough to work in daylight. To compensate at least a little for the lack of brightness, you can close the curtains and turn off the lights. However, this will significantly complicate the learning process and will be a clear hindrance to note-taking. What to do in rooms where there are no curtains?

It is important to think about this parameter before purchasing equipment. If you plan to use the projector during the day, you should understand that the sun's rays hitting the projection surface will always make the image less bright. Therefore, you should choose a projector with a brightness of at least 3000 lumens for a long throw model and 2600 lumens for an ultra short throw model.

Light source

This is a feature you won't find on most projectors because manufacturers don't tend to disclose this information. Now there are two technologies for forming a light source: Laser-Led (laser-LED) and UHP (Ultra-High Pressure Mercury lamps). How are they different from each other?
Laser-Led (laser-LED)
. Does not contain mercury, which makes them environmentally friendly
. More energy efficient
. More durable (up to 20,000 operating hours)
. Does not heat up, which means it does not require a cooling system
. Has the ability to instantly turn off
. No loss of image quality throughout the entire service life
UHP (mercury lamp)
. Low cost
UHP projectors are already an outdated model. The displacement of newer and more efficient Laser-Led models from the market is hindered only by the low cost of UHP models, which buyers mistakenly focus on. Despite the obvious disadvantages of UHP projectors.

Imaging technology

Currently, manufacturers offer the following image technologies for ordinary users in their projector lines: LCD and DLP.
LCD-based projectors usually have three LCD matrices in primary colors (red, green and blue). The matrices are illuminated by a powerful light flux from the lamp. As light passes through them, individual pixels close or open, blocking or allowing color to pass through. The result is an image that is projected onto the screen.
The advantages of LCD projectors are good image saturation, realism and stability. Disadvantages include the relatively low contrast and the “wire mesh effect” in some models. To equip the assembly hall, you should choose this technology.
In systems with DLP, the core is a matrix of micromirrors, which forms the image. Each of the mirrors can rotate a small angle under the influence of a control signal, creating a light or dark pixel in the image. Light from the lamp, reflected from the mirror matrix, passes through color filters and turns into an image on the screen.
The advantage of DLP technology is high image contrast, and, as a result, deeper detail in shadows and blacks. Also, DLP projectors are usually more reliable and durable than LCD. Among the shortcomings, we can note a slight flickering of the image in some models (“rainbow effect”). This technology is optimal for equipping your home theater with a projector.

Equipment

An important parameter is the configuration of the projector. As standard, you receive a VGA video cable and a remote control. But, as a rule, this is not enough. We have previously mentioned the presence of mounting brackets for ultra-short throw projectors. And this is an important fact. In our work, we often encounter the installation of projectors purchased from other companies. As a rule, these are long-focus (in order to save money) and short-focus models for equipping an interactive whiteboard. As a result, for installation you have to additionally buy a bracket for the projector. It is worth considering that the price of high-quality wall brackets starts from 5,000 rubles. But ceiling ones may not be suitable due to the height of the ceilings. Thus, the client not only does not save his money, but also incurs additional costs. This means that the most optimal solution would be to purchase an ultra-short throw projector, paying an additional 6,000 rubles. In this case, you will not have to incur additional costs for the bracket.

A convenient feature is the ability of projectors to transmit video wirelessly. In this case, in the description, the manufacturer writes about the presence of a WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) wireless communication module.

Real Resolution

When purchasing a projector for a classroom, you should not settle for models with a resolution of less than 1024x768 dpi. Otherwise, pixels will be visible in the image, and this will significantly reduce the image quality. It is important that the actual resolution matches the format of the board or screen. That is, when purchasing a widescreen board or screen, purchase a projector with real widescreen resolution. In turn, a projector for an interactive whiteboard or 4:3 screen must have a resolution of 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1280x800, 1366x1024, etc. If you doubt that you will purchase a suitable set of equipment, then contact the specialists of our company. They will help you choose a compatible set of presentation equipment, and also provide the necessary cables.

Contrast

Image quality and contrast directly depend on each other. The higher the projector's contrast, the higher its image quality when viewing multimedia. However, you should not completely trust the numbers indicated on manufacturers' boxes. The best option is to independently check how the projector works, evaluate the image quality, and only then make a purchasing decision. In our showroom you can evaluate the image quality of some projector models for yourself.

And yet, it is better to entrust the choice of projector to competent specialists who do this every day and are well versed in the parameters of projectors. You can always come to our office or get advice by phone.

Today, the tablet computer market is growing rapidly. Sometimes even choosing the right tablet for yourself is very difficult, because there are incredibly many models, and they all look about the same. I note that you need to choose a tablet responsibly, since this thing is quite expensive and necessary. You can always find practical uses for the tablet and will not regret the purchase if you do not make a mistake with the choice of the device itself. In this article we will talk about which tablet computers are produced by leading manufacturers, how they differ and what parameters you should use to choose a tablet. You need to choose a tablet computer based on the specifications you are interested in.
1. Display and screen resolution. Tablets are usually equipped with displays from 7 to 10 inches. The first ones fit perfectly into your pocket, but are less convenient to use, especially when it comes to reading and surfing the Internet. 10" tablets are already close in size to modern laptops. I think it makes no sense to say that all tablets are touchscreen.
2. Operating system. Today, three mobile operating systems are relevant: Android, iOS and the brand new Windows Phone 7. If you are interested in games and other useful applications, then an iOS device will be the best choice for you. Indeed, most games are available for iOS, and the quality of programs for iOS is much higher. The Android app store is also full of apps, but their quality lags significantly behind iOS apps. This is due to the strict moderation of applications in the App Store, while even the most low-quality applications end up in the Android Market. As for Windows Phone 7, the situation with applications is much worse, because there are practically none, so we won’t even consider this option.
3. Device operating time. If you are going to buy a tablet for long-term use, then it is better to choose a device with a good battery. It’s simply not possible to watch Full HD video on a tablet with a 1000 mAh battery, so the optimal choice is 2000 mAh or higher.
4. Productivity. The processor frequency, of course, is of great importance. To watch movies and surf the Internet, you should choose a processor with a frequency of 600 MHz or higher. Game lovers will have to take a much more powerful device. Nowadays, almost all tablets are equipped with dual-core processors, and more recently, quad-core processors with a frequency of 1.4 GHz have appeared. The most powerful processor for gaming is now considered Nvidia Tegra 3, which actually powers the ASUS Transformer Prime tablet.
5. External interfaces. Leading tablet manufacturers have abandoned USB and HDMI in favor of thinner and lighter devices. If you still want to connect flash cards and external hard drives to the device, look for tablets with external interfaces. Some tablets allow you to connect a mouse or even a gamepad. The HDMI connector allows you to connect the device to a TV and use it as a home media center. As for the MicroSD slot, almost all tablets have it.
6. Mobility. All tablets support Wi-Fi connection. Some tablets support 3G technology, but usually models with a 3G module are more expensive than those without it. In addition, some tablets allow you to make phone calls. I don’t consider this a necessary function, because speaking will be extremely inconvenient.
7. Cameras. Most tablets support one camera on both sides. In general, I don’t think it’s worth paying special attention to this, because it’s hard to imagine a person who would take pictures of something with a huge tablet. A tablet is not a camera. But the presence of a front camera can be useful for video calls in the same Skype.
8. Appearance. Agree that outwardly the tablets are not much different from each other, because the standards are the same everywhere. Tablet cases come in plastic and metal. Plastic models are lighter, but less resistant to damage and scratches. Metal ones scratch less and look more solid. It is worth noting that tablets with plastic cases catch Wi-Fi better. The choice depends on your personal preferences.
To make the information more complete and detailed, I will give specific examples of tablets suitable for certain purposes.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the second popular series of universal tablets. Running on the Android operating system, the technical specifications are quite impressive. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is not much different from the iPad, and its average price on the Russian market is approximately 25,000 rubles (Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1).
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is one of the most powerful (if not the most powerful) tablet computer. It runs on the Android operating system and is equipped with a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The connected docking station significantly expands the functionality of the tablet. One USB connector, micro-HDMI, microSD and microSDHC are supported. The battery lasts 8-16 hours of active use with the docking station connected. Perfect for video game lovers. The price on the Russian market is approximately 30,000 rubles.
HTC Flyer is a small tablet computer with a 7-inch screen diagonal running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The device has an excellent interface design, so the developers did a great job. The minimum cost of the device on the market is approximately 12,000 rubles.
There are also budget tablets made in China. A typical example is the Ainol line of tablets, the cost of which does not exceed $180. The quality, by the way, does not even disappoint. You can order such a “miracle” in a Chinese online store. In any case, an excellent toy for those who do not have enough money to buy a branded tablet.

Not so long ago, the presence of a flat-screen TV in the house indicated the high social class of its owner. It confirmed the status of a respectable person and was accessible only to a few. Now such models are on the shelves of all digital equipment stores, and they are not that expensive. In any case, they are not considered luxury, so anyone can buy. But what parameters should you use to choose a TV?

We will answer this question today.

One of the main reasons that makes models affordable is the cheaper technology and its gradual improvement during production. Consequently, competition in the market is growing and in the fight for buyers, companies are forced to reduce prices. This plays into our hands and gives us the opportunity to use excellent equipment at an affordable price. BUT! Along with the improvement of technology, many different criteria have appeared, each of which is important because... affects one or another parameter of the TV: size, image quality, color rendition, etc. Let's start from afar.

Screen size and resolution

An important visual parameter is the screen diagonal. The larger it is, the more expensive the TV is - take this into account. People usually believe that the bigger the screen, the better, but this is only partly true. You need to choose the diagonal wisely, and one of the criteria for choosing a diagonal model is the size of the room.

If you buy a model with a huge diagonal for a small room, then when watching analogue channels or videos of not very high resolution at close range, you will see pixels on the screen, which is very uncomfortable. To create the integrity of the picture, you will have to step back, and in a small room you simply will not have space. Approximate table of correspondence between the TV screen and the distance from the viewing point:

Those. If the room parameters allow you to view the TV from a distance of 3-4 meters, then it is optimal to buy a TV with a screen diagonal of 32 inches. Otherwise, you will spend more money on a model with a larger screen, but will lose in quality.

As for resolution, things are a little more complicated. The best picture quality is achieved only when the resolution of the video content matches the resolution of the matrix. However, analog and sometimes digital television signals have lower resolution, so the system has to stretch or contract it. This contributes to a loss of quality. Therefore, models with PAL/VGA resolution are better suited for watching television channels, i.e. standard. But if you plan to watch HD movies, then the ideal option is a TV with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) or at least HD-Ready (1366 x 768).

Choosing a TV by type: plasma, 3D or LCD?

Flat screens can be of three types: plasma and LCD. The only thing they have in common is their flat appearance. The first are plasma TVs, consisting of a matrix and cells. These cells are filled with an inert gas, and when voltage is connected, the system gives a discharge to each cell of the matrix, resulting in a glow. This is how the picture is formed.

LCD screens consist of liquid crystals placed between two plates. These crystals transmit light from the backlight behind. Depending on the voltage applied to the crystal, it can transmit light in different ways, resulting in an image.

Of course, each type may have its own advantages and disadvantages. Plasma can boast a large viewing angle and picture saturation (especially for black). However, plasma can burn out over time, resulting in reduced brightness. But this will happen in about 10 years, when your plasma will be the same rarity as a black and white telephone is today. Plasma also makes more noise and generates heat, which is also a disadvantage.

LCD panels are, of course, more durable. But in one percent out of a hundred, when viewing dynamic colors in high resolution, trails from the movement of the picture may appear on the screen. Previously, this problem was very relevant, but now the technology has greatly improved. In addition, plasma does not burn out at all, and the service life of such a TV is 2 times longer. Those. it will work for another 10 years after it becomes a rarity.

3D models are the new TVs. They are just flooding the market and manufacturers are trying in every possible way to attract customers with this new product. There are different technologies for forming three-dimensional images. One of them involves the use of special glasses, the other does not. But the technology is not particularly in demand now, because... There is very little 3D content (i.e. movies). Therefore, we recommend waiting a little and not overpaying for almost useless surround image reproduction technology.

Contrast and brightness as important selection parameters

The higher the brightness, the less the eyes will be loaded, so this criterion should be considered. In addition, higher brightness contributes to greater comfort, especially during daylight hours.

It is believed that the minimum screen brightness value should be 450 cd/sq.m. Almost all models of modern TVs satisfy this requirement, but it is possible to stumble upon some old or cheap model from an unknown manufacturer. So you can’t let your guard down. Also, modern devices should (very desirable) have a sensor for detecting room lighting, which will allow them to independently set the screen brightness.

Contrast is the weak point of LCD TVs. However, this problem is partly solved thanks to modern dynamic contrast technology, which improves the quality of the picture and especially the black color. But still, in terms of image contrast, LCD models are inferior to LCD TVs. You need to remember: the minimum acceptable contrast value is 600:1. Ideally, the value should be 7000:1 or 10000:1 (achieved using dynamic contrast technology).

On average, most models have a contrast ratio of 1600:1, which is normal in principle, but the shortcomings are very noticeable in strong room lighting.

We described the main parameters for choosing a TV - these are the basics that you must take into account when considering this or that model.

Perhaps no one in our time will argue with the fact that a laptop is a device that almost no one can do without now. And if at first they were used mainly for work purposes by people who often need a computer on the road, today the majority have already successfully replaced bulky stationary home computers with them.

If you are just thinking about purchasing a laptop and don’t understand them very well, then this short article will tell you what main characteristics and parameters of a laptop you should first pay attention to before purchasing it.

Indeed, as we said above, laptops have recently increasingly become not a working tool, but a full-fledged replacement for a desktop computer. And this is not surprising, because with similar characteristics, “laptops” take up much less space on the table, are quieter and have such important qualities as battery life and mobility - even if when you bought a laptop you only intended to use it at home, in which case you can always close the lid and take it with you on the road.

Key points when choosing a laptop

Of course, for most of us, one of the decisive factors determining the choice of a particular model is price. Fortunately for us, there are now enough sites and services on the Internet where you can compare prices for the model we are interested in in several stores. For example, on the website nadavi.com.ua you can compare prices for any product you are interested in, for example Lenovo laptops, and choose the most profitable option among many sellers.

Once you have decided on the budget for your new device, you are faced with the second difficult task of figuring out the technical specifications. Without a doubt, a laptop is a rather complex thing, and the variety of devices that are now on the market makes the task of choice even more difficult. However, it is worth remembering that a huge variety of different laptops can often differ only in appearance and minor characteristics, but have almost identical “stuffing”.

It is simply not possible to talk about all the possible options and parameters of a “laptop” in one article, so we will try to tell you the main points that you should not forget about and which you should first pay attention to when choosing a laptop.

HDD

For most users, this is one of the main factors, because storing large volumes of photos, music, videos or games has recently required more and more space. Hard drives with a capacity of less than 1 terabyte seem to us to be no longer very relevant.

If you are not too strapped for money, then pay attention to laptops with solid-state drives - SSD drives. In terms of per megabyte, they cost several times more, but significantly speed up work with the computer and operating system.

CPU

Most modern processors have sufficient performance, and most likely in the coming years after purchasing a laptop you will not run into insufficient resources on this side. A good choice would be an i3 or i5 series processor from Intel.

Video card

All modern processors used in laptops have a built-in video card, which is more than enough for most tasks facing a mobile computer. In the same case, if you are going to play modern games on your laptop, the power of the built-in video card will most likely not be enough for you and it is better to pay attention to models with a separate video card.

RAM

Computer RAM is something that you can never have too much of. At the moment, it is worth considering options for laptops with a RAM capacity of 4 gigabytes and above (preferably 8 gigabytes).

If you are buying a laptop “for a long time,” then it would be a good idea to inquire about the possibility of increasing RAM in the future - not all computer models have free slots for this.

Screen diagonal

Screen diagonal is an important factor when choosing a laptop, but it can be attributed to characteristics that depend on the preferences of the future owner (like the color and design of the case) - each of us has our own requirements: someone needs a 10-inch netbook for school and study, others a 19-inch monster for home and games.

Other options

In addition to the main technical characteristics, it would not be amiss to pay attention to the secondary, but for many, no less important functions of laptops, which include the following.

  • Number of USB ports and their speed- most modern laptops already have a faster USB 3.0 connector;
  • CD/DVD-ROM- of course, in our time, CDs and DVDs have almost completely lost their former popularity, however, in some “lagging behind progress” areas (usually government, yes) they are still the main means of transferring information from one computer to another.
  • Pre-installed operating system- Windows, one of the latest versions, will be installed on your new laptop in 90% of cases, but if you prefer Linux or want to install your system yourself, a computer without it will cost a little less (the cost of the retail version of the Windows license).
  • Weight- if you are going to carry your laptop with you, then when comparing different models in the selection process, pay attention to its weight.

Perhaps these are all the main points that you should definitely know about. We hope that taking into account all the above tips and recommendations, choosing a laptop for you will become a little easier task, and your new gadget will delight you for many years.
