A cache file for Android applications is a special file with resources that is designed to simplify further updating of the application, namely, if you need to update the installed application, you will not need to download everything again, but only the executable file in the “apk” format.

There are three ways to install this file on your mobile device.

The most popular way to understand how to install games with a cache on Android is to install the cache manually. To do this, initially you need to download and install the “” file manager on your device. And then you need to follow simple steps:

  • download the installation file and the cache file from any source. You can open the site section "Categories" -> "with cache";

And on Android, if suddenly for some reason you do not have access to the Internet from your mobile device? Very simple. We will need our gadget, a USB cable and a computer with Internet access.

First, download the installation file with our game to your computer’s hard drive (remember, Android only works with apk files), move it to the memory of our device, and disconnect the USB cable. On our smartphone, through a file manager (analogous to Explorer), we find our installation file in the folder tree and run it. The following is the standard process for installing the game on the system. You should remember about the security of your data and do not forget to download a good mobile antivirus.

So, we see that the Android system is extremely simple and convenient; its user will never have questions about where to look, how much it will cost, or how to install games. On Android, all entertainment services are collected in one place.

Most games for Android, if they are not simple arcade games, “weigh” more than 100 MB, so when they are downloaded, a cache file is also included. What is cache and how to install it? Our universal instructions will tell you how to install games with a cache on Android, and it will also tell you how to do this operation in situations where the cache is not in the folder, or when you downloaded the file on your computer.

The cache for applications and games on Android is a special file with resources, which was created so that when updating, users do not need to download the entire volume of the game again - only the executable files in the APK.

To manually install the cache on an Android device, you need to perform simple steps. To do this, you need a file manager with a built-in archiver that works with ZIP files. We recommend using the popular one.

Instructions for installing the cache:

  1. Download the installation APK file and cache, for example, from Trashbox.
  • Install the downloaded APK, but we don't launch.
  • Open a file manager with a built-in archiver. Find the downloaded cache (usually in the Download folder). This will be a ZIP or RAR archive. In our case it is called com.rovio.battlebay.zip. The archive already has a folder com.rovio.battlebay, and it contains a cache in OBB format. All this needs to be transferred to the directory along the path Android → obb.
  • Select the archive by long pressing → “Extract to” button and select the directory /Android/obb(sometimes this happens /sdcard/Android/obb). The same can be done in another way if you use an alternative file manager: unpack the archive in the folder where it is located; copy and paste the com.rovio.battlebay folder into /Android/obb/.

  • As a result, a cache folder should appear in the /Android/obb directory. In our case - com.rovio.battlebay.
  • Only after this can you launch the game.

  • Note: The cache for games from some developers needs to be placed in non-standard folders, for example:
    • Games from Gameloft - sdcard/gameloft/games/[cache folder]. The game downloaded from Google Play will be located in a different path - sdcard/Android/data/[cache folder].
    • Games from Electronic Arts (EA) - sdcard/Android/data/[cache folder].
    • Games from Glu - sdcard/glu/[cache folder].

How to install a cache if it is not in an archive or in a folder

Often the cache is downloaded not in packed form, but simply as an OBB file. In this case, the installation becomes slightly more complicated:
    1. You have downloaded the APK file and cache. The first one was installed, but the second one is a file with a name in the style of main.7610.com.rovio.battlebay.obb.

  • Then you need to find out Game ID and create a folder with it in the /Android/obb directory: go to the page of the game you need on Google Play (in our case, BattleBay); pay attention to the URL - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id= com.rovio.battlebay&hl=ru; the ID is hidden in it; the game ID text is written after id= and before &, if the latter is present. Thus, our ID is com.rovio.battlebay.

  • Copy the ID from the address bar and go to the /Android/obb directory in the file manager. There we create a folder whose name is the ID of our game. Just paste com.rovio.battlebay into the folder name field.

  • Next, we return to the cache that you downloaded. Copy main.7610.com.rovio.battlebay.obb and go back to /Android/obb/com.rovio.battlebay. We paste the cache file there.
  • Let's start the game.
  • How to install cache from computer

All these steps to install the cache can be performed directly from your computer if you connect your device in external storage mode. Simply unpack the archive with the cache and transfer the folder with the OBB file to the familiar /Android/obb directory on the microSD card or in the internal memory.

For more information about installing a cache on Android, see our video instructions:

To install a game or program on Android you do not need any specific knowledge, however, inexperienced users may have questions during the process. That is why we have created a section on our website “how to install games and programs on Android”, as well as “how to install games with a cache on Android”.

So, the first thing you need to start the installation with is:

    1. Disable application installation blocking.
To do this, you need to go to “Settings”, then in the “Personal” section, select “Security”, then in the “Device Administration” section we find “Unknown sources” and check the box next to it. Now you can install applications from any site, not just from Google Play.

Attention! There are a lot of Android devices, so the location of the settings on your device may vary. But in any case, the “Unknown sources” setting or something similar must be there. Just find it and check the box next to it.

Download your favorite game or program from our website using the "Download..." link. Almost always the application looks like an .apk file. If you downloaded the file using a computer, connect your device to it using a cable. Then copy the file from your PC to your device in any folder convenient for you. If you downloaded the file not from your computer, but directly from your device, then the game will already be on your phone/tablet, so read on.

Then launch the file manager (on Samsung devices it is usually called “My Files”). If it is not there, install "ES Explorer" from the Play Market. Using the manager, we find the game file, click on it, thereby starting the installation. Follow the instructions and click “Finish” when finished.

If the application does not need a cache, then in the list of installed applications we find our game (or program) and launch it.

2.1 Installing games with cache on Android:
Download and install the game ( NOT launch it!) Download the cache for the game. Since the cache is always located in the archive file, it needs to be unpacked. To do this, use the WinRAR archiver for PC or ES File Explorer for Android, or any other archiver convenient for you.

Unpack the archive with the cache onto your device into the directory, the path to which is indicated on the game page under the download links. Often the path is like this: SD/Android/Obb - where SD is yours built-in memory card. After you have unzipped the cache there, the path to the cache folder on your device should look like this: SD/Android/Obb/*cache folder that you unzipped*/.obb game file. Less often, some games ask you to install the cache here: SD/Android/Data/. So before installing the cache, you should always look at the desired path for each game.

If you don't have an obb or data folder, create one.

If you installed the cache correctly according to the path indicated on the game page, then that’s it, the installation is complete. Find the game in the list of applications and launch it.

It happens that after installing the game and cache, when you launch the game, a message appears: “Download Failed...” - this means that you made a mistake somewhere, you need to repeat the installation again.

And so, all files that your smartphone perceives have permission. APK is a file that is the main installation archive, and you can open it with regular Winrar or another archiver.

How to install games from Google Play

For those who are not in the know, Google Play is the official website where you will find a huge number of games, programs and other files for Android, both free and paid. This program is installed by default on any smartphone, so we just find it and run it.

To start downloading any files, we need to add a Google account; if you don’t have one yet, you’ll have to register it. Well, then everything is simple - thanks to the search, find the game you need and click on “Install”, look at the requirements that the file requests from your Android, if everything suits you, then accept - then the game will be installed automatically and you will see the icon of the installed application in the quick panel launch.

Please note that after installation, the downloaded .Apk file will be automatically deleted from your smartphone.

Installing games from Google Play Web Store

The main advantage of installing games from the Web version of Google Play is convenience, because finding the desired file using a laptop or computer is somewhat easier than poking at small keys on a smartphone.

  • We log in to the site using the same account as on Android
  • Find the game or program you need and click install
  • Select your smartphone from the proposed list of authorized devices
  • Click on Install
  • The file will automatically download on the selected device.
  • All. Install the downloaded game and enjoy!
  • How to install a game on Android from a computer?

If you downloaded a game from a third-party site to your laptop, and then want to transfer it to your Android and install it, then you need to do the following:

Go to (Settings -> Applications) and check the box Unknown Sources. By this you confirm the installation of apk files not only from Google Play, but also from other sources.

First of all, you need to transfer the desired game to the memory card; I think there is no need to tell you how to do this.

    1) For automatic installation, you can use the AppInstaller application, with its help you will find all the apk files that you have and install them.

    2) For manual installation we use file managers, for example, ASTRO, EStrongs. We launch it, find the game we need, install it, everything is actually quite simple.

    3) Install directly from your computer, without transferring the file to your phone:

    Download the InstallAPK program

    Install

We connect your Android, for this we use a USB cable

Double click on the desired apk file and it will automatically start installing on your phone

    4) The last option is somewhat perverted - copy or remember the name of the desired .Apk file, open the built-in browser and enter the following in the search bar - file:///sdcard/YOUR_FILE_NAME.apk OR content://com.android.htmlfileprovider/sdcard/YOUR_FILE_NAME.apk.

These are the simple ways to install games on Android. I recommend using options 1 and 3, because I think they are the most convenient and optimal.
