Using Snap

To use Snap, first open your desired application. Once it launches, press the Windows key, which will take you back to the Start screen. If you then move the mouse cursor to the upper left corner of the screen, sweep to the left, or use the WinKey+Tab key combination, you will see a running application running in the background.

Next, launch the application that you want to make “secondary”. Then swipe left, or move your mouse to the top left corner of the screen and drag along the left side of the screen, or use the WinKey+Tab key combination and you will see the application switcher.

Drag and drop (or touch and drag) the app you want to use in split screen mode onto the screen. You can throw it from either the left or right side of your screen.

After that, you will see your application on the selected side of the screen. When you pin applications to one side of the screen, their interface changes. Depending on the application, you may see updated information, new messages, or music playback controls.

You can't pin apps to 50/50 percent of the screen. One application will always be pinned to one side of the screen, while the other will occupy the other - most of it.

To determine which app has the most screen space, click and drag (or touch and drag) the border between apps. To move an app to the other side of the screen, move your mouse to the top of the screen, grab the app you want, and drag it to the other side of the screen. When using the touch screen, swipe from top to bottom to grab an app.
