How to dial from home to mobile Belarus. How to call Belarus from Russia correctly and economically

Telephone communication is a quick and convenient way to exchange news with relatives or talk with partners who are in different cities or even countries. To make long-distance and international calls, subscribers must know the telephone codes of countries and localities, as well as the order of dialing numbers.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) recommends that countries around the world switch to common standards for access to long-distance and international communications, but different countries still have their own rules. As an example, let's try to call Belarus from a landline phone from Russia.

Dial order

To call a subscriber located anywhere in the world, you need to know the country code, area code and telephone number. The order of dialing numbers to call Belarus will be as follows:

  • First of all, you need to get into long-distance communication - for this in Russia the number 8 is used. In other countries that have their own telephone numbering plan, the access code for long-distance communication will be different. Once the connection is established, a long beep will sound on the handset, indicating that you can continue dialing.
  • If a subscriber is calling from Russia, after dialing eight and hearing a “beep”, he needs to dial the code of the operator providing international access. Rostelecom is considered a standard international communications operator, its code is 10.
  • Next, you need to enter the country code, the length of which may vary depending on the country (for example, for Abkhazia the telephone code is 7, for Greece - 30, and for Israel - 972). The telephone code of Belarus consists of three digits - 375.
  • Then enter the locality code or mobile network code.
  • Dial the subscriber's number.

Regional codes of Belarus

In large cities of Belarus, numbers consist of seven digits; in smaller settlements, five- or six-digit numbers are used. The state is divided into 6 regions, each of which is assigned its own telephone code:

  • Brest region – 16.
  • Vitebsk region – 21.
  • Gomel region - 23.
  • Grodno region – 15.
  • Mogilev region – 22.
  • Minsk region – 17.

To call the regional center, you need to dial the number 2 after the region code (for example, the Brest code is 162, the Mogilev code is 222). The exception is the capital, Minsk code is 17.

Each regional center is assigned a four-digit code, the first two digits of which coincide with the regional code (for example, the telephone code of the city of Yelsk, Gomel region will be a combination of numbers 2354).

International operator codes

According to the order of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, at the time of writing, there are 7 operators providing long-distance and international connection services. For each of them, a two-digit code for selecting an international communication operator is defined:

  • OJSC Rostelecom - code 10.
  • OJSC Interregional Transit Telecom (MTT) – code 58.
  • OJSC "VmpelCom" - code 56.
  • CJSC TransTeleCom Company (TTK) – code 57.
  • Equant LLC - code 59.
  • JSC "ARKTEL" - code 26.
  • OJSC Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) – code 28.

If a subscriber wants to use the services of a specific company, then after 8 and a long beep, he can dial the corresponding operator code to access international communications.

Many people from Russia have relatives, friends or business partners in Belarus. Despite the possibilities of digital communication via the Internet, sometimes you just need to call Belarus, that is, make an international call.

We tell you how to call Belarus from a landline or mobile phone.

How to call from a landline phone to Belarus

Let's say you mainly communicate with Belarusians at work - then it is more profitable for you to call from a city corporate phone than from a mobile phone. To make a call, it is important to know the rules of international calls. If you are calling from a landline phone to a landline number, you should dial this:

8-10 (international line access) - 375 (country code Belarus) - city code - subscriber number

Here are the codes for major cities in the country:

Minsk - 17, Orsha - 216, Gomel - 232, Baranovichi - 163, Mogilev - 222, Bobruisk - 225, Vitebsk - 212, Brest - 162. Codes of other cities and towns are easy to find on the Internet.

The internal Belarusian number consists of 6 digits, only in Minsk and the Minsk region it consists of 7 digits (since the zone code there consists of 2 digits - 17).

So, without taking into account the country code, the Belarusian number consists of 9 digits. To dial a Belarusian number in international format from a landline phone, you will need to press as many as 15 digits.

Everything is easier if you need to dial a Belarus landline number from a mobile phone. Then immediately start with the international country code, then the city code and the subscriber number.

375 [area code - 2-3 digits] [subscriber number - 6-7 digits]

How to call Belarus on a mobile phone

There are 3 large mobile operators in Belarus: MTS, Life, Velcom. The Belarusian cell number consists of 12 digits and looks like this:

+ [country code 375] [operator code - 2 digits] [subscriber number - 6 digits]

Just like in Russia, it is easy to determine whether a number belongs to an operator by its prefix:

  • 291, 293, 294, 296, 299, 44 - Velcom
  • 292, 295, 297, 298, 33 - MTS
  • 25 - Life.

However, in Belarus there is also a service for porting numbers from one operator to another, so recently the accuracy of determination by prefix leaves much to be desired.

So, to call Belarus from mobile to mobile, it is enough to know the subscriber’s number in international format; no additional actions are required.

How to call from Belarus to Russia

If you call in the opposite direction, that is, from Belarus to Russia, you must follow the same international dialing rules, but take into account that the international code of Russia is +7.

When calling from a cell phone, you only need to dial the subscriber number (11 digits) of the form +7 9xx XXX XX XX. When calling from a landline to a landline, you must dial:

8-10-7 [this is the country code] - [city code] - [subscriber number].

To call from a landline to a mobile phone you need to dial:

00 (this is an intercity connection) - 7 - subscriber number (10 digits).

If the code 00 does not work, that is, the connection is not established, you should check with your provider how to make an international call from your home phone.

Cost of calls to Belarus

Although Belarus is Russia's closest neighbor, calls there are quite expensive. If you do not connect additional services, then a minute for all major Russian operators costs about 30 rubles.

For more profitable calls, you need to connect international call services to CIS countries. The cheapest calls to Belarus to any operator are from MTS. When you activate the “Beneficial International Calls” service, a minute will cost 20 rubles. In this case, a monthly fee of 50 rubles is charged. The service for cheap calls to Belarus can be easily activated by dialing the USSD command * 111 * 902# on your phone or in your personal account.

How else can you call Belarus?

Obviously, if you need to communicate a lot with friends and relatives, calls at 20-30 rubles per minute will not allow you to do this. But there are alternative communication methods with which you can communicate much cheaper and even free:

  1. Calls via the Internet - we are talking about the Skype program, video calls via WhatsApp or Telegram. You can communicate for free; only the Internet traffic of both parties is consumed. The downside is that communication applications must be installed on both subscribers. Therefore, for communicating with your grandmother, for example, this method is not always suitable.
  2. Calls through special applications - Voipscan, Yolla and others. By installing the application, you can call any number via the Internet, and it will be cheaper than through a mobile operator. Voipscan, for example, costs 12 rubles. in a minute. At the same time, a subscriber in Belarus can receive a call even without the Internet, that is, through such applications you can make calls to the most remote and inaccessible villages, to subscribers of tariff plans without the Internet. The connection quality is very stable.
