My child is constantly sitting at the computer! advice on the proper use of computer equipment. Children's aggression and cruelty

Just a few years ago, the dangers of computers for children were explained by the dangerous radiation emanating from the monitor. The latest models of computers are equipped with reliable systems and protection technologies, but parents’ concerns about the safety of technology for their children’s bodies remain. What is the reason for this concern? The main danger is the capabilities of a smart machine. Games, social networks, an endless stream of information, not always useful and correct, have a negative impact on the child’s psyche.

The computer provides the child with access to a huge amount of information and entertainment.

Boundless passion for computers provokes psychological and physiological problems. Incorrect positioning that lasts for a long time leads to curvature of the fragile children's spine. Vision is impaired, mental changes occur that affect the general behavior of children, and the perception of the real world is distorted. A painful dependence on the computer is established. Many fathers and mothers wonder whether their child needs a computer, while at the same time realizing that even without it, modern world not enough.

Kids and computer

Electronic gadgets are increasingly becoming the object of gifts for young relatives and friends. Cars and dolls are forgotten, the baby's attention is occupied by tablets and children's computers. Today's mothers and fathers, in whose lives the computer occupies an important place, do not see anything wrong with introducing the baby to electronic “toys”. Kids receive information about the world around them through tablets, put puzzles on them, and learn colors by pressing buttons. An accessible and easy form of training, but doctors continue to ring the bells.

French child psychologist Serge Tisseron believes that such computer courses dangerous for children. Artificial intelligence was created to help adults who are able to separate reality from the virtual world. The brain of a 3-5 year old baby is just beginning to form; it cannot handle such a division. In addition, the full development of a small person is impossible without mastering all five senses: smell, vision, touch, hearing and tactile sensations.

The development of fine motor skills also plays an important role. By practicing with pyramids, drawing, putting together a mosaic, the baby simultaneously sends signals to the brain, ensuring its correct and comprehensive development. The baby must sculpt figures from plasticine, color books, and cut out paper.

Children captivated by a computer display lose some of their intellectual baggage and lag behind in development from children who grew up on ordinary toys.

Replacing toys with electronic gadgets deprives the baby of the opportunity to explore the world around him through sensory perception

Computer for schoolchildren

Dear reader!

This article talks about typical ways to solve your issues, but each case is unique! If you want to know how to solve your particular problem, ask your question. It's fast and free!

Having reached school age, your child is quite ready for close contact with a computer. If you have the financial opportunity, buy him an electronic assistant. It is believed that the influence of the computer on 7-8 year olds is positive. Various computer programs help develop certain abilities and skills. Psychologists note that working at a computer, a student improves abstract and logical thinking, learns to concentrate, and develops creatively.

It is also important that a smart electronic friend allows you to receive information on topics that interest the child and develops his talents. Those who are capable of drawing improve their skills, quickly grasp other languages and expand their vocabulary. Developmental computer games also benefit. The process of working with the Internet teaches children communication skills, communication with other people, and improves skills in searching and selecting the necessary information.

A 2-3 year old child does not yet understand all the capabilities of a computer; a few simple games are enough for him. A schoolchild of 8-12 years old masters technology so much that he turns into a competent user, then it is difficult to tear him away from the “box”. It is unrealistic to prohibit sitting at the computer, but it is necessary to direct the child in a direction that is beneficial for him. Parents should share the interests of their offspring, explaining to him that real adventures are no less attractive than virtual ones. The main thing, when trying to wean a child from a PC, is to present explanations correctly, avoiding notations and conflict situations. Knowing what your child’s interests are, offer him clubs or sections based on his interests.

The task of parents is to show their child that in the real world you can also find adventures to your liking.

How does a computer affect a child’s health?

Dosed play or computer work is safe for a child, and it even helps improve concentration. Excessive hanging at the monitor, on the contrary, causes certain harm to health. Experts insist on regulating the hours that children can spend doing their favorite activities. Many parents, unfortunately, neglect this advice and try not to notice how long their child hangs online. It is convenient for adults when their daughter or son does not bother with questions, does not demand attention, and is immersed in the virtual world. Mom does household chores, dad watches his favorite football, and meanwhile the child loses his sight, stoops, and distorts his psyche. Eradicate this attitude in yourself - with patience and perseverance, determine the time for your child to work on the PC. How many hours per day:

  • children under 5 years old – PC is prohibited;
  • child 5-7 years old – maximum 30 minutes;
  • children 7-10-13 years old – 1 hour;
  • teenager 13-14-16 years old – no more than 2 hours a day.

The negative influence of PC affects the vision of children. Long contact with the monitor causes a lot of strain on the eyes, fatigue sets in, which is transmitted to the brain, developing into psychological fatigue. Set the monitor to comfortable contrast and brightness values, and display an image in calm colors on the desktop.

Check the screen frequency indicator, it should be 100 hertz or more. This setting is especially important for non-LCD monitors. Parents can teach their treasure eye gymnastics.

Uncontrolled sitting at the computer can “kill” even the sharpest vision

How to organize a child's first meeting with a PC?

Whether you bought a PC specifically for your child or he has grown up to use one that is already in the family, parents need to coordinate time so that they do not later have to worry about weaning their child off the computer. Proceed like this:

  • Dosage of playing time. Apply the cyclic method. Allow a 5-year-old child to spend 15 minutes at the PC and not a minute more, but with four approaches a day. Naturally, you shouldn’t sit next to your baby counting down the time on the timer, just make sure that it takes a minimum of time. For older children, increase the duration to 30 minutes, but reduce the number of approaches per day and per week in general.
  • Discuss the activity. Make it a rule to ask your son or daughter what he was doing. If he has played, ask about the purpose and objectives of the game, the rules, and why he likes it. If you read a book, find out who the author is and what he writes about.

Neuropsychologists, studying the influence of computer games on a child’s psyche, have found that a PC promotes the development of logic, improves memory, trains spatial thinking, but cannot adapt the child socially and does not develop speech skills in any way. In addition, only direct communication with loved ones leads to the emotional progress of a little person. Stick to the basic principles:

  • We select the games correctly. Buy your child a children's computer. Such a PC a priori contains games for a certain age. If your son sits at your computer, search the Internet for “toys” for his age. Many of them are developed with the participation of child psychologists.
  • Follow the “3-6-9-12” rule, where the numbers are the child’s age. The meaning of the numbers is as follows: 3 years – you cannot use a PC; 6 years old – excluded from leisure activities gaming consoles; 9 – Internet access is prohibited; before 12 – access to the Internet only under parental supervision.

You shouldn’t call games absolute evil: when used in doses, they can develop some of the child’s qualities

How to deal with computer addiction?

Having missed the opportunity for the child to get used to the PC, adults are forced to look for an answer to the question of how to distract the child from the computer. What can a father or mother offer their baby, caught in the alluring networks of the electronic mind? The main tool of adults is the ability to communicate with a child, understand and feel him, be able to convey the right values and instill interest in the real world. It is obvious that help can come from you and only from you, aimed at ridding his vulnerable consciousness of computer addiction. Our guide will help you.

Heartfelt conversations

  • Having noticed that close communication with a PC results in poor performance at school and missed lessons, have a serious conversation with your son or daughter. Try to explain that he is not so inept, but the PC takes up too much of his attention, which leads to the listed problems. It is not recommended to abruptly stop studying on the computer; you must find a compromise that suits both parties. Reduce the time of sessions, offer other ways to solve the problem, understanding that your offspring is already dependent on the electronic mind.
  • A categorical prohibition is a bad tool in the fight for a child’s consciousness. Scandals, ultimatums, and screams will make your child want to hide his passion from you. Moreover, talking in a raised voice will distance the little person from evil adults. Such actions are especially fraught with teenagers. Aggression will force a teenager to withdraw and refuse to communicate with parents who do not understand him.
  • Show genuine interest in your son or daughter's entire life. The world of virtual games allows you to create characters with unlimited possibilities. Strong, dexterous, omnipotent - this is how children feel in the PC gaming world. Returning to reality, they realize that they are weak and helpless, so they go back to the electronic fairy tale. Parents need to give their child confidence that in everyday life he is smart and dexterous, that he has his own non-game advantages. Discuss with him positive events from the real world that gave him no less pleasure than a computer game.

At every stage of growing up, parents should maintain contact with the child and talk openly about topics that concern him.

Reasonable prohibitions and alternatives

  • You can correct your gaming addiction by setting time limits on PC use. Make an agreement with your child in which you specify the number of hours allowed to spend at the computer. Discuss the menu for his get-togethers, watch the games your boy plays. Monitor how accurately the child follows the established regime. If he is serious and tries to follow your requests, be sure to praise him. If you notice deviations from the schedule, calmly find out what caused it.
  • Welcome your child’s activities outside of virtuality in every possible way. Stop sitting in front of the TV while your son fights in a virtual battle. Offer him a fun family activity. Organize a vacation in nature or in the park in the company of peers. Put together large puzzles, models of cars and airplanes, organize darts tournaments, play crocodile, inviting your son or daughter’s friends home.
  • Based on your child’s interests, invite him to attend a sports section, choosing the type that he likes. If your son is not physically strong, but is passionate about animals or drawing, organize visits to exhibitions and the zoo. Encourage creative activities at home. Drawing, assembling construction sets and models, embroidering and drawing – The best way distract the child from virtual illusions.
  • If, after trying all sorts of methods to combat addiction, you have not achieved dramatic changes, seek advice from a specialist.

Strong Arguments Against Stubbornness

“Treatment” of children for computer addiction collides with their stubborn reluctance to take “medicines.” Mom and dad are obliged to establish interaction with their offspring in order to achieve a positive result. The best weapon in this confrontation is strong arguments. Competently, without shouting or scandal, tell your treasure the difference between the virtual and real world, explain why refusing reality is harmful. Justify it like this:

  • Prolonged play affects the achievement of really important goals that a child wants to achieve in life. Being distracted by the computer, he loses concentration on something important to him.
  • You can hook a teenager into growing up by explaining to him that an adult has no time to play on the computer if he wants to build a successful career and a prosperous life.
  • Appeal to the richness of bright colors of live communication. It is much more interesting for a child to run around in the yard with his peers playing hide and seek or “war games”. A teenager will enjoy going with his peers to the forest or the cinema, to an exhibition or to the theater, which ends in a heated discussion.

The power of personal example

Support your actions and arguments with personal example, which the young creature needs so much. While remaining your child’s main assistant and mentor, monitor your behavior and attitude towards the PC. If dad returns from work and runs to the computer, his son is unlikely to heed his arguments about the harmfulness of electronic entertainment. Parental immaturity will ruin any good intentions. If you let the child’s connection with the PC take its course, you will not achieve any results and will miss a lot of important things in raising a little person.

“My child has a computer addiction”, “He just has tantrums as soon as we ask him to finish the game”, “He is not interested in anything except games, is this normal?” — psychologists are increasingly hearing from parents. What do children find in computer games? Is it possible to return them to the real world? The author of a popular book advises.

The developmental conditions of modern children have changed so radically that even talented teachers and very loving parents find it difficult to adapt. All world education systems did not take into account the possibility of children escaping into imaginary worlds. Having received a classical education, we are confident that this is what a child should be given. Books first, and then the computer. The computer today is replacing not only books, but also living people.

In the upbringing of “computer” children, three main “hot spots” can be noted.

  1. Initially, they have incorrectly formed attitudes towards the computer. Buying a new “car” is still so significant for the child and burdensome for the family that this in itself increases its weight. Despite the fact that a computer and everything connected with it is just a man-made device.
  2. Having bought a computer, we most often leave the child alone with it, using the opportunity to relax. I am a supporter of the mediation of any child’s activity by an adult, at least at the first stage. This means that in any new situation the parent must explain to the child how to behave better (become a competent mediator). “Do we really have to not only earn money and buy this expensive toy, but also to play with the child?" - parents ask. Exactly.
  3. Nobody follows the norms of working at the computer, but sometimes something like “Saturday vice” is arranged.. The computer turns off, and the child is reminded who is boss.

Situation 1. Computer and discipline

Six-year-old Olya can “work” on a computer just like her programmer dad. She writes letters on it, draws, plays. But Olya’s parents are still in favor of a reasonable limitation of “computer” time. The grandmother, who came to visit, discovered that the girl did not draw with pencils or paints, did not sculpt, and did not read books. And she has obvious speech therapy problems - Olya cannot pronounce “R” and “Sh”.

The child categorically refused to draw on paper, explaining that she was doing it on the computer. Dad intervened in the conflict: “Olya is a modern child, she needs a computer!” And then the grandmother decided to restore order by limiting Olya’s time in front of the display to half an hour. Exactly 30 minutes later, she loudly demanded to turn off the computer immediately, or else: “I will punish you! And I will punish your dad so that he doesn’t protect you!” For a psychologist in kindergarten This situation has long become typical...

Psychologist's comment. Aggressive interruption of play leaves a much more serious mark on a child's psyche than we might think. From the child's point of view, the parent does not love him or understand him if he is not ready to share his joy with him. We, unfortunately, are accustomed to measuring the depth of relationships with people by how sensitive they are to us in difficult circumstances - are they ready to share the misfortune with us? And we, of course, know to ourselves that we will never leave our child in trouble.

But children have a different logic. They accept care as the norm, and love is judged by how involved the parent is in the joyful side of life. The ideal parent for a preschool child is a very cheerful and kind person, a Clown or a Wizard. You can talk about everything with someone like that and come to an agreement. He is ready to listen to him. He believes him.

Strict grandmother Olya immediately showed herself to be an “evil” character. And who likes to listen to angry people? Olya protested against injustice, in a sense, she fought against evil intentions. Because “to punish for nothing” in the mind of a child is, of course, a crime.

Discipline and play are quite compatible. But adult aggression only embitters the child and creates the effect of “forbidden fruit.” Therefore, firstly, you need to form correct settings even before the game starts: “All children your age play for half an hour,” “Little ones play only with their parents.” Secondly, playing on a computer should have alternative activities: “Besides the computer, we can play Lego!”, “And I really like the way you play the piano... No computer can do that!”

Situation 2. Computers and the need for love

When his parents divorced, Petya was 6 years old. The divorce was initiated by my mother, a strong and not without ambitions woman. As if apologizing for the suffering caused, his mother bought him a computer, deciding to herself: “I will raise a talented child, and no one will say that I am a bad mother!”

Petya accepted the gift with joy, especially since his mother herself encouraged playing on the computer, thereby confirming that she loved her son. It was also easier for Petya to play and not think about anything than to remain in anxious anticipation of worse changes. On weekends he did not see his father, his parents did not communicate with each other at all, and on weekdays his mother was busy. And the computer became something of a surrogate parent.

The woman realized it when the child went to school. By this time, he had lost interest in people and activities at school, which affected his academic performance; his peers seemed boring to him... But Petya no longer expected anything good. He got used to the lack of love and learned to escape by going virtual.

Psychologist's commentary. To whom is a child more attached - to his mother or to the computer? This question sometimes torments parents. We are jealous of the child’s soulless machine, but we are not ready to spend time with him. Previously, a parent was a source of happiness against the backdrop of a rather monotonous reality. Now parents can act as a backdrop for a vibrant, infinitely diverse virtual reality.

Empirical observations show that if a child lacks warm relationships in the family, love, tenderness, affection, the risk of developing all kinds of addictions, including computer addiction, increases significantly. Pleasure, which can be obtained easily and simply, is just a surrogate for human love, which a child does not know how to obtain. Children get stuck at more than simple operations, if they are unfamiliar with or cannot afford more complex ones. And a computer, despite its complex internal structure, is simple because it is easy to operate. To compete with it, the parent must have a "friendly interface".

Why do they prefer computers?

  1. One-on-one with a computer, a child gains freedom, which he may lack in real life. Parental controls are removed; ordinary norms of behavior, requiring tension, coordination, and consideration of the interests of others, change to the rules of the game, which are controlled by the child himself. From a dependent performer, he turns into an active player. This illusion of controlling reality is the most powerful motive of computer games.. Especially for boys who seek to expand their capabilities, space and improve their psychological status. They get a chance to become winners in the virtual world.
  2. Games stimulate the imagination to a certain extent, involving children in new active, vibrant worlds. Unexplored, but clearly effective is hypnotic effect screen technologies. Moving pictures, like any moving objects, can bewitch and attract attention. High concentration on the game is akin to hypnotic immersion in sleep. In this state, time flies unnoticed, and space narrows to the frame of the screen.
  3. Manipulating the computer is easy. The ease with which complex operations are performed is extremely attractive to a child for whom everything is still difficult. It also fascinates some parents whose childhood was spent without a computer. It seems to them that their children are little geniuses and endowed with special abilities. And children are encouraged by a sense of superiority over adults.
  4. Most games are built on the principle of the series: one session ends - another one begins, even more interesting. Game developers try their best to make the game endless so that it can be played over and over again.
  5. The game characters are extremely attractive. It is pleasant to identify with the main character, who moves towards the goal, overcoming difficulties, it is interesting to follow him, and victory almost always awaits him.
  6. A computer game, like any gambling game, is accompanied by the production of hormones. Games are simulators not so much of worlds as of certain vivid experiences and strong emotions. Gaming addiction is a hormonal addiction. If in real life a child does not receive emotions of comparable strength, he will prefer playing on a computer.
  7. Computer games train operational attention and memory. Children love to learn something new and then demonstrate their abilities. They are pleased to feel how quickly skills appear.

How to combine the real and virtual life of a child?

  1. To begin, decide: what does a computer mean in your family, in the life of any person? The coveted prize? An indicator of well-being? Window to the world? Technical assistant? A device that makes life more convenient? The exaggeration of the importance of the computer by adults increases its importance in a child's life. Exaggerated fears of the computer play the same role. By sacralizing the computer, we create an aura of super-significance around it. A calm, almost indifferent attitude towards technology allows you to use it with great intelligence, accuracy and benefit. And most importantly, it will not lead to such a deformation of the value system in which a soulless piece of hardware with wires is deified.
  2. Low self-esteem in a child- this is the basis for the formation of any unwanted addiction. If there are too few pleasant stimuli in life that bring joy, calm, encourage, surprise, make you laugh, inspire, any pleasure, including playing on the computer, can become addictive. This means that, not only exaggerating the importance of the computer, but also underestimating ourselves, our child, we push him to be content with the role of a simple executor of other people's programs, including computer ones. He doesn't need more. And low self-esteem is the result of weak parental love.
  3. The computer will take a special place in a child’s life, if he has no friends and other significant connections with the world. This is a real problem in the age of individualism and living in large, densely populated cities. If you have at least some opportunity to create conditions for playing together, being in a group of peers, do not miss it.
  4. The standards for a child’s time in front of a screen are approximately as follows. No computers or consoles for children under 3 years of age! At least up to 3 years old... Because it is difficult for reality to compete with the virtual world, in which everything uninteresting is filtered out and everything that is “cool” is collected. After 3 years, play time should be dosed and be a maximum of half an hour, preferably 15 minutes intermittently. You can make a rule: “Computer only on weekends!”, “Either computer or TV!”, “We only play together!”. Such rules are the basis of the culture of using information resources.
  5. Rule "We only play together!" It is especially important because it guarantees the involvement of an adult in the game process. But most importantly, we teach the child how to play and model his attitude towards the computer. It is easier for children to cope with the irresistible desire to play more and more if they see how adults stop. Place a clock nearby and explain that the time limit is a condition of the game.
  6. How to answer a child’s question, why limit time? At the age of 4, you can tell a fairy tale about a monkey who really loved oranges, but he overate himself and his tummy hurt. Remind that little people have not only a head and arms, which are so necessary for a computer, but also legs, a back, and a tummy. They also want to play, run, jump. Otherwise, not a person will grow up, but a tadpole with a weak body. It makes an impression on the kids! Queue up outdoor games and computer games. Children love both and calmly switch from one interesting activity to another.

Current article... Childhood passes by.
It is better to limit your time with technology, despite the tears and quarrels!

My youngest son is two and a half years old, after noticing his interest, I deliberately decided to introduce him to the computer at this age and use his curiosity to educate him. You can see how this happened here [link-1] and here [link-2] The older brother is 9 and he, like most of his peers, is passionate about computers. In order to interest him in something more useful than games and not to use only prohibitions, he was asked to study a video editing program. The film, which can be viewed here [link-3], is the result of his independent work. It took him one week to learn the complex program. The film is far from perfect, but it is a real DIY affair. The result is awareness of one’s own importance and increased self-esteem, which is so necessary at his age. In addition, the desire to improve in a new direction

Computer and child. I believe that it is best to offend the child a little, but not allow him to develop vision problems.

Thank you for the article. I have three children. The youngest is 6 - almost 7 years old. There is no dependence on the computer. She doesn’t go near a computer at all, although she knows how to use it - she played it more than once and watered farms once... She is addicted to TV, and not just TV, but Western cable series - mostly teenage ones. The TV is always on, she can play with dolls, offices, etc. role-playing games, with a TV in the background. And the computer addiction in our house is in full force for two teenagers - my sons are 12 and 15 years old. I also tried to connect parental controls - now I won’t recommend it to anyone, because if before they at least admitted that the time on the computer at their age should be limited, then after connecting parental controls they decided that at all other times - without parental control - they can legally play...(((The control was turned off - so now they play all day long and at night during the holidays, if the modem is not turned off, while sitting on a chair. Network games , with headphones, sessions of 40 minutes, session after session. I work. And when at home, I either get ready for work or on the farm. Take them out or drive them out of the house - to the cinema, to exhibitions, meetings with friends, etc. ., costs me a lot of effort, does not always lead to results. I come up with joint events myself and, by order, I take all three of them there, although the eldest is no longer interested in joint trips due to their age... In the summer and on holidays, I specially take them out of the house on trips - away from home computers, so they manage to find computer clubs in every place. But it’s easier there - it costs money, so an hour and a half, and they again join real life. And if there is Wi-Fi, then the older one will prefer to lie in the room with the phone (( (((((((((((((I am VERY concerned about my children being online for more than an 8-hour work shift every day. But in the passing of time, I have not yet found the means to change this situation. Problem.

You just don’t need to let him into this world, then you won’t have to get him out of there.

Children's coloring books online, of course, will not replace all the sensations that a child experiences when he paints real coloring books with pencils, felt-tip pens, or especially paints. But in the modern world, there are probably no families where there is no computer, which means the child will still constantly show his interest in it. Therefore, online coloring books are probably what you should start with when introducing your child to a computer. These are harmless games that will help a child’s development.

Now I really like to read, but I don’t remember when I fell in love with reading. Definitely not at school. At school I was constantly interested in something else. True, they didn’t read to me as much as I did to my children. Or so it seems to me... In short, I don’t remember. In general, until I was 10 years old, I don’t remember my childhood well - only isolated passages. I remember that in high school I was obsessed with Shklyarsky, Dumas and Verne. But I started reading voraciously after college. I read everything in a row: what I didn’t finish reading at school - because this knowledge is really in...

It’s as if we’re leaving ourselves an escape route, but how can you get your child back after 2.5 years at home? Many people around us don’t even know that she is not ours. Well, maybe someone will find words of support and consolation. And even better, real advice.

Together with counselors - students aged 18-25 years old, children learn new things, begin to be interested in the most ordinary (such as football, art, vocals, guitar) or completely unusual (poi, geocaching, testoplasty and pottery, Chinese and Feng Shui) sports and creativity. The counselor, as an authoritative adult, not only shows by his example interest in a particular activity, but also explains the meaning and usefulness of each subject, the possibility of it practical application in life. And the most important thing...

How to interest a child so that he does not play computer games, PSP and mobile phones day and night? Almost all modern parents face this problem. In the 70-80s there were no computers and mobile phones, but there weren’t many sports and creative sections, and not every parent could afford to participate in them. However, it seems to us that we were completely different children then... more sociable, more open, more independent and purposeful. We...

Nowadays, when there is a computer in almost every family and in many schools, all parents are very concerned about the influence of the computer on the child. Is a computer safe for a growing organism? How long can a child sit at the computer without it affecting his health? What causes the harm of computers for children? You will learn about this and much more from women's online magazine Charla.

In fact harm to computer lies in the same thing as its dignity - in its boundless fascination. Computer harm for children can only be caused by non-compliance simple rules that help maintain health. Therefore, when buying a computer for a child, parents must clearly understand: now they will have to monitor how long the child sits at the computer, how much the child plays on the computer. In other words, it is the parents who are responsible for whether the computer will benefit their children or, conversely, harm them.

Computer harm for children

People who work in an office and are forced to sit in front of a computer all day long know firsthand how their eyes suffer from this: a burning sensation appears, the eyelids hurt, and it feels like sand has been poured into the eyes. Therefore, it is very important that children do not spend a lot of time on the computer. Since children who are fascinated by the computer do not notice the fatigue and fatigue of their eyes, they can greatly overload them. Moreover, if child playing computer, and not engaged in some kind of training program. Computer “toys” can captivate a child so much that he can sit in front of the computer all day without interruption. Therefore, in order to save your child good vision, always control how much time he spends in front of the screen.

If a child sits at the computer uncontrollably, this is fraught with the development of physical inactivity. After all, the human body, and especially a growing organism, needs movement. Due to prolonged immobility, the child’s well-being worsens and disruptions occur in the body. When the child plays a lot of computer games, this is accompanied by emotional tension, which also does not go away without a trace. As a result, after sitting in front of the computer all day, the child becomes agitated and irritated in the evening, becomes aggressive and uncontrollable, and sleeps poorly at night. And the reason for this is that the parents followed their child’s lead and allowed him to play all day long.

In a word, it's all about a sense of proportion. Computer harm for children caused by excessive time spent at the computer. Therefore, the task of parents is to control the time that the child sits at the computer. To prevent the computer from harming the health of preschool children, children under six years old should not be allowed to spend more than twenty minutes at the computer. Children aged 8-9 years can play educational games for thirty to forty minutes. And from the age of ten you can be allowed to sit in front of a screen for no more than an hour and a half. Of course, parents sometimes want to take a break from their restless child, so they allow him to sit at the computer longer so that he does not interfere with household chores. But this is not the best option: try to occupy your child with something else.

Since standing in front of a computer for a long time puts a lot of strain on your eyes, it is recommended to adjust the brightness and contrast of the monitor so that visual fatigue does not occur. On the “desktop” you can install some picture of calm tones, for example, a landscape. It is also advisable to teach your child to do special exercises for the eyes.

The influence of a computer on a child of primary school age

If your child is already eight years old, it is quite possible for him to buy his own computer. With a reasonable attitude towards the computer and your control over how long the child sits at the computer, its influence will be beneficial. Thus, psychologists note that computers are good helpers schoolchildren, as they develop certain skills: attention, logic, abstract thinking. By playing educational computer games, a child educates himself, learns to make independent decisions, and develops his creative abilities.

If your child sits at the computer for too long

If your child playing computer hours on end and you can’t tear him away from games, then most likely you are to blame for this, because you allowed your child to spend as much time in front of the screen as he wanted. Try to somehow switch the child’s attention, distract him with some other activity, sign him up for a sports section, find him a hobby. Talk to your child, explaining in a simple and understandable way why it is harmful to sit in front of the computer for a long time. But you don’t need to tell scary stories, force, scream and put pressure on him - he will appreciate your sincerity and honesty much more.

Don't be overly afraid of the negative influence of a computer on a child, because with a competent and reasonable approach, its benefits are much greater. The sooner he gets acquainted with technology, begins to understand it and understand something, the more developed he will be. After all, in our age technical progress Every person must come into contact with technology in one way or another. This smart machine will help your child increase his level of knowledge, he will become interested in the latest technical achievements, and this will undoubtedly be useful to him in the future.

Modern children know how to use a computer from an early age. This is not surprising - almost all families have phones, tablets and, of course, computers. Small children handle them easily, especially if they are sensory. What do our children learn by playing on these information media? And are they studying or are they simply not disturbing their parents while they are busy?

Our children live in information society where one of the most important aspects of a person’s activity is the ability to quickly and efficiently work with information, using modern means and methods for this, which allows him to feel more confident in life.

But is this what our children are doing when playing on tablets? Do they know about other computer capabilities besides gaming? And what can we do to teach them to live in a new information society using a computer to receive and process information, and not to waste time playing games on the computer.

Children tend to play. In the game, they get acquainted with life, learn behavior in various situations, develop their attention and reaction. So let's help them with this. And when we give them a tablet or sit them down in front of a laptop, we will select games and tasks for them that could teach them something, and not just entertain them. Let's teach children to work in graphic editors, starting with the simplest: Paint, and then in other equally interesting computer programs.

Child and computer in the modern world.

Modern children know how to use a computer from an early age. This is not surprising - all families have phones, tablets and, of course, computers. Small children handle them easily, especially if they are sensory.

What do our children learn by playing on these information media? And are they studying or are they simply not disturbing their parents while they are busy?

Informatization of society is an objective and natural process. In the information society, one of the most important aspects of human activity is the ability to quickly and efficiently work with information, using modern tools and methods for this. Using new information technologies and resources allows a person to feel more confident in life.

But is this what our children are doing when playing on tablets? Do they know about other computer capabilities besides gaming? And what can we do to teach them to live in a new information society using a computer to receive and process information, and not to waste time playing games on the computer.

Young children tend to play. In the game, they get acquainted with life, learn behavior in various situations, develop their attention and reaction. So let's help them with this. And when we give them a tablet or sit them down in front of a laptop, we will select games and tasks for them that could teach them something, and not just entertain them.

On the Internet you can find many sites with games for children. At the end of the article I will provide links to some of them. When choosing games, make sure that they develop logic, attention, and receive information appropriate to their age. Don't let children play games that are cruel and inhumane. Teach them how to draw on the computer. There are many good programs for this.

I have been leading the “World of Informatics” circle for several years now. My educational program is aimed at the scientific, technical and creative development of the child’s personality. In this case, the emphasis is on the development of thinking, which determines a person’s ability to quickly process information and make informed decisions. Using the capabilities of a computer, children become familiar with various ways of expressing and visualizing thoughts, with the ideas and ways of thinking of people of different ages, different social affiliation. The emphasis is on the child’s own activities in searching, comprehending and processing new knowledge. The teacher acts as the organizer of the learning process, the leader of the creative aspirations of children, providing them with the help you need and support. A special feature of this program is training in computer graphics.

Everyone has it on their computer Paint program. Many people don't appreciate it. But this is a great virtual sketchbook. At my “World of Informatics” club, I start teaching kids how to draw on a computer using this program. On the website of my circle I post an algorithm for drawing the first drawings. I teach how to combine them, make collages, and postcards for the holidays. Having learned to draw using an algorithm, children begin to come up with their own drawings. This captivates them, develops creativity, attention, thinking, teaches them to see beauty in ordinary things, and to be more attentive to the work of others. Then I introduce children to children's design programs, such as: "Home Workshop", which allows children to make photo collages, diversify old photographs, showing their imagination, or the "Photo in 5 Minutes" program, which allows them to improve photos and give them an unusual look .

Then I introduce them to the Moviemaker program (Windows Film Studio) - for children in the 2nd year of study, this is an opportunity to easily and quickly (and children need to get everything as quickly as possible) to create their own movie based on their own photographs. For example: “My family”, “Summer holidays”, etc. And only then I introduce them to the PowerPoint program (in the 3rd year of study). Creating a presentation is fun, but it requires attention, patience and focus. Therefore, I do not introduce this program in the first years of study. Having learned to make presentations, the children are happy to make them for lessons, which helps to arouse interest in learning.

IN Last year training (the program is designed for 4 years), I introduce the children to Photoshop programs and Flash. Children learn to draw in them, especially in Flash, create collages and animated drawings (in Photoshop) and simple Flash videos.

The program includes a theoretical part, which is implemented by the following principles and methods:

  • Principles: scientific, accessible, systematic, dynamic, interaction of theory with practice.
  • Methods: step-by-step discovery, dialogical, comparison, method of reporting, organizational and exhibition classes, method of activating activity and thinking, method of attracting the emotional, visual and everyday experience of children.

The objectives of the program are:

  • Formation of initial ideas about the properties of information, ways of working with it, in particular using a computer.
  • Gaining knowledge on the use of a computer as a tool for practical activities.
  • Development of logical and figurative thinking, imagination, attention, memory, creative and cognitive potential of the student, broadening his horizons using the richest computer tools for this.
  • Development of artistic taste, accuracy, conscientiousness in work when performing tasks.
  • Development of the need for self-education.

I decided to touch on this topic. Just recently, such equipment was a luxury, but today it is found in almost every home. And not only adults, but also children use the computer.

Of course, the benefits of a computer are undeniable: interactive whiteboards, programs for creativity and learning, as well as the Internet, increase a child’s educational opportunities and level of knowledge. For example, my three-year-old son, playing only on a children's computer, learned the entire alphabet in a couple of weeks, while my standard lessons with the ABC book did not bring the desired result.

But the influence of a computer on a child can also be negative. We'll talk about this in more detail.

The computer can have the same negative impact as television. Sitting at a computer for a long time puts stress on the child's body and psyche. Working at a computer leads to poor vision and physical inactivity. The harmful influence of a computer on a child is also manifested in electromagnetic irradiation of the body. Large doses, which can accumulate over several years, can ultimately cause serious consequences.

But most of all, spending a long time at the computer harms the child’s psyche. Let's look at the most common Negative consequences such influence of the computer on the child.

Fatigue

When a child sits at a computer for several hours in a row, he becomes overtired very quickly. The reason for this is neuro-emotional stress, which requires the child to constantly concentrate and quickly respond to one or another action.

American scientists have come to the conclusion that already in the 14th minute of working at a computer, a child becomes restless and absent-minded, and after 20 minutes, the influence of the computer on the child manifests itself in the suppression of the activity of the central nervous system.

Computer addiction

Child psychiatrists have been sounding the alarm for a long time, because computer games lead to constant stimulation of the areas of the brain responsible for pleasure. As a result, the child wants to receive satisfaction for as long as possible, and this is a real addiction, which can even be compared to drugs.

The negative impact of a computer on a child is described in great detail in T.L. Shishova’s book “The Child and the Computer.” It also talks about a very interesting experiment, during which an electrode was implanted into the brain of rats, which was responsible for receiving pleasure. Frequently pressing the button, which sent electrical shocks to the brain, led to rapid exhaustion of the rats, as they forgot to eat and drink. As a result, the rats simply died.

But Japanese research has shown that the influence of a computer on a child is so enormous and strong that it can lead to the arrest of brain development. Children who play computer games are more aggressive and unable to control their emotions.

Violation of children's horizons

Our life constantly throws up various situations, the outcome of which can be very different. We think and select what we consider necessary.

In games it's the other way around. Their plot is most often linear, implying the use of only one, or at most two or three methods. As a result, children's horizons are significantly narrowed; there is no point in fantasizing or imagining anything at all.

This influence of a computer on a child leads to serious mental disorders. A child, constantly clicking mouse buttons, cannot experience the emotions that can be experienced when playing with cars, construction sets, cubes, etc. Fine motor skills of the hands suffer greatly, because clicking the mouse and keyboard buttons cannot help.

Making the game a reality

Computer games cause great harm to children's perceptions. The fact is that children really love to bring into life what they see on TV or on the computer. If during the game a beloved hero dies tragically while trying to save people or, like a steeplejack, jumps on trees and floors of houses, then the child will be able to reproduce all these actions in reality. The influence of a computer on a child negatively affects the comparison of real and virtual events.

Children's aggression and cruelty

The plot of most computer games is based on being able to survive, destroy your rivals, etc. Achieving these goals occurs most often through shooting.

What can this influence of a computer on a child lead to? Moreover, everything in this life can be achieved only through cruelty, aggression and the use of weapons. But children are able to take it seriously.

There have been numerous cases where children shot at their classmates and people passing along the street. According to statistics, the majority of child shooters are in the United States. A terrible case was also recorded there when a 4-year-old child, taking his father’s pistol out of the closet, shot at his nanny, who was then taken away in an ambulance. It's hard to believe that he was able to do this consciously. Most likely, he saw such a story either on TV or on the computer.

Parental inattention

In most cases, parents, when buying this or that game for their child, do not think about its content. As a result, they simply choose a bright cover or are guided by their adult desires, that is, what they would like to play themselves. Although it would be useful to check what the child will play later. The child's psyche is very susceptible and cannot critically evaluate what he sees.

In other words, what a child sees will haunt him throughout his life. To avoid such a negative influence of the computer on the child, the site advises parents to pay attention to what their child is playing.

Childish selfishness

Very often, parents, in order to at least occupy their child with something, simply sit him down in front of the TV or computer, and do not even realize that this leads to the development of childhood loneliness.

In addition, computer games can develop selfishness and isolation in children, because most of their plots are based on the principles of “survival of the fittest” or “everyone survives for himself.”

Wrong perception of the world

The negative influence of a computer on a child manifests itself in an incorrect perception of the worldview. Spending a long time at the computer leads to the fact that the child begins to look at everything real as something aggressive and cruel, and some children stop noticing this reality altogether.

At one time, a study was conducted called “Drawing of the Whole World.” Two groups of children were collected: some did not depend on the computer, while others sat near the monitor for days. As a result, the first group drew a bright and colorful world, with images of trees, people, and the sun. But in the drawings of the second group, signs of increased anxiety, cruelty and fear were clearly visible. Some children even portrayed weapons and dead people.

Reluctance to communicate with real people

The consequences of the negative influence of a computer on a child also manifest themselves in communication with other people. If earlier a child who had certain difficulties in communicating with other people could somehow change himself and take some steps to get closer, today the situation is completely different.

To forget about all your problems, you can simply immerse yourself in the computer, find friends on the Internet and calmly communicate with them on the condition of anonymity. There is no need to adapt to the people around you, you can behave the way you want. Children understand that they will not be recognized or judged with a stern gaze for bad behavior.

Waste of time

The influence of a computer on a child deprives him of real childhood. The Internet and computer games take up most of children's time, which they could spend on something more useful and necessary.

Note to parents

In order for your children to be physically and mentally healthy, it is worth taking strict control over their computer use. Negative influence You can avoid using a computer on your child if you remember the following:

  • Limit your child's time at the computer.
  • Keep track of what your child plays, what movies he watches and where he surfs the Internet.
  • Install on your computer useful programs who will teach the child what is good and necessary.
  • Do eye exercises with your child, make sure there is no glare on the computer monitor.
  • Play regular games with your child more often that develop sensory skills and attentiveness.
  • Help your child find a common language with his peers, teach him communication manners, try to talk to him more often.
  • Do not leave your child at the computer unattended (especially small children).
  • Explain to him what he can play and what he can watch.
