How much does Maxi bit cost abroad? “Bit Abroad” service from MTS

The Internet has become almost a necessity in human life. MTS offers several ways to connect it even when the subscriber is outside of Russia.

You need to choose a tariff carefully, because the convenience of accessing the Internet and spending money on it depends on it.

First of all, decide why you need the Internet. If you need it to communicate on social networks and send small images, a small amount of traffic will suit you. Those who often download movies, TV series, photos and communicate in video chats need to choose more expensive services, the traffic should be:

  • volumetric;
  • high-speed (otherwise the download simply won’t happen).

MTS is a cellular operator that foresaw all sorts of situations and offered several solutions to subscribers located outside the Russian Federation, but among the solutions provided it is still difficult to find Internet without restrictions. Let's look at them.

Wi-Fi from MTS - what is it?

Its cost is very high, forty rubles per hour, but it is very convenient to use. You will be able to download unlimited films and images, play online games, communicate with other Internet users and do much more.

Surprisingly, there is no information about this service at all on the official website of the mobile operator. Perhaps this is due to the fact that it is not in demand.

Is it difficult to connect?

This is quite easy to do. You just need to send a short SMS to 1106, the text of which includes pass. After these steps, you will receive a message with the login under which your account has been successfully registered. Along with it, you will receive a password - it is the key to access the Internet.

Payment terms are comfortable. It can be reproduced using the following methods:

  • by debiting funds from the specified number;
  • by payment via bank card.

This way, anyone can receive traffic, not just a subscriber of a cellular operator. It is unlimited, works at high speed - of course, because its price is appropriate.

What you should know

This method is not suitable if several people want to use the network at once. The Internet speed would be good (because it is actually high), but there is simply no way to connect. Unfortunately, MTS does not allow you to use traffic from several devices at once. So if you wanted to pay for the service for yourself and friends/relatives, don’t delude yourself.

Setting up Wi-Fi is very simple - just literally enter your personal information: the unique password and login that you received after sending the SMS. As you can see, there is nothing complicated about this. After a couple of minutes, you can already enjoy watching high-quality videos and chatting with friends.

Mobile Internet from MTS

Of course, not everyone is satisfied with such conditions for receiving services - some simply do not like the operating conditions of the device, while many are not satisfied with the amount of payment for services. In addition, a mobile connection is necessary in cases where a person often changes his location (for example, traveling around the cities of the country, etc.).

What can we say about MTS mobile Internet:

  • The connection quality is excellent;
  • connecting the device is easy;
  • There are many tariffs, so there is a suitable option for everyone.

Just be more careful when choosing a tariff plan so as not to overpay for traffic that in the end you hardly use.

What MTS offers

The company offers three beneficial services to its subscribers:

  • "BIT Abroad";
  • "Super BIT Abroad";
  • "Maxi BIT abroad."

Let's look at each of them in more detail below.

About the BIT option abroad

MTS offers high-quality Internet abroad; all you need to do is activate this service. Many subscribers also consider it the most profitable. In this case, you get thirty megabytes per day for three hundred rubles - it is available to those located within Europe, the CIS, the States, Canada, Turkey and other eastern countries, and many others.

To use this tariff, call *111*2222# or *212#. You can also connect it by sending an SMS to the short number 111, the text of the message should be “2222”. Funds will be debited from your account only if you use the Network; in other cases, payment will not be debited.

Maxi BIT abroad - cost and features

This tariff plan offers more traffic, but is less popular among subscribers. The cost can be from six hundred rubles per day and reach up to two thousand two hundred - the exact cost of services depends on which country you are in.

Connecting the option is easy. To do this, you just need to dial the request *111*2223# # and press the call button. If you want to achieve the same results using SMS, send a message to the short number 111 with the text “2223”.

Super BIT abroad - is it worth connecting?

It needs to be treated with special caution, because it is expensive, and the only difference from previous services is the most voluminous traffic. The price of using the Internet for a day will be one and a half thousand rubles, within certain countries it can reach up to four thousand rubles! The volume of traffic can range from two hundred to twenty megabytes.

If you are not on the Internet that often, you should not subscribe to this tariff - the remaining money at the end of the day will simply “burn out”. If you still decide to activate the service, dial *111*2224# and press the call button. You can also achieve these results by sending a message to 111 with message text 2224.

What MTS says

The company recommends turning off automatic operator setup, because this way you can easily spend money at the wrong time. The “In Full Trust” service is also useful - thanks to it you can use the Internet at any time, even when there is no money in your account.

The offer is valid for subscribers of all tariff plans that do not contain “Cool” or “Caring” in their names.

The options in the “BIT Abroad” line are mutually exclusive with each other and with the “Foreign” option.

The daily fee is debited only upon the first Internet session from the moment the option is activated for the current day (the period from 0:00 of the current day to 0:00 of the next day according to the time of the subscriber’s home region). If you activated the option, but did not use the Internet while roaming, the daily fee will not be charged.

To charge for the option, the tariff specified for the country of the operator in whose network the Internet session was carried out is applied, regardless of the country of actual location of the subscriber.

In case of moving within a day from country to country with different traffic limits, the provision of a daily traffic limit and the debiting of the option fee occurs in each country in accordance with the terms of the option. If you move within 24 hours from a country to a country with the same limits or return to a country in which the fee for the option was charged for the current day, the daily traffic limit continues to apply, and the fee for the option is not charged again. In case of moving with the “Super BIT abroad” option in an area with an unlimited traffic limit from one of the following country groups to another, the fee for the option is charged: group 1 (Israel, Tajikistan, Bulgaria, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Romania, Slovakia, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Tunisia), Group 2 (Italy, Thailand, UAE, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, USA, Canada, Ukraine, Spain, India), Group 3 (other countries in this zone).

If you have activated the option, but use the Internet in Russia or in your home region, and not abroad, the Internet is charged in accordance with your tariff plan. If the “Internet restriction in international roaming” service is activated on your number, then when connecting options of the BIT line abroad, the “Internet restriction in international roaming” service will automatically be disabled, the GPRS-/EDGE-/3G-roaming service when traveling abroad and on trips in Russia, where there is no MTS network, will be provided according to the terms of the BIT line option abroad.

The options include Internet via access points (APN): internet.mts.ru, wap.mts.ru, blackberry.net; Traffic via other APNs is not included in this option.

You can use the option to access the Internet when traveling abroad if you have connected the free services “Easy Roaming and International Access”, or “Easy Roaming and International Access 2012”, or “International and National Roaming” and “Mobile Internet”. To check the availability of these services, use your Personal Account. Due to the fact that communication services are provided on the network of roaming partners, in case of significant load on the network, the operator reserves the right to limit the speed of the mobile Internet.

When using this option, there is a daily traffic limit. After the limit is exhausted, Internet access is limited until 0:00 of the next day. If the limit is exhausted, you can use the mobile versions of your Personal Account and the MTS website for free.

The limit counter is reset at 0:00 every day (according to the time of the subscriber’s home region). You can get information about the current status of options in the My MTS application or on the website i.mts.ru.

If you have used less than the established limit for the current day, from 0:00 the next day you will again have access to the full amount at maximum speed. During the first Internet session in the next 24 hours, the daily Internet access fee will be charged.
The indicated cost of options is valid from August 28, 2018.

The 21st century subscriber needs not so much calls as Internet traffic - post new photos, scroll through your social media feed, read the latest news, put “likes” on friends’ posts. Moreover, the Internet is needed not only in Russia, but also in foreign countries. When you are abroad, the “BIT abroad” option from MTS and its closest analogues from the group of the same name will help out. These are the ones we will look at in our review.

We will cover three options in total:

  • “BIT abroad” is the most affordable option.
  • "Maxi BIT Abroad" - for those who need increased traffic volumes.
  • “Super BIT Abroad” – for the most demanding subscribers.

Our review will help you choose the most suitable option.

Detailed overview of options

If you look at the description of your tariff, any tariff at that, you will notice the high cost of Internet traffic in international roaming. The exception is the “SMART Zabugorishche” tariff plan with included foreign traffic. The “BIT abroad” group of options will allow you to reduce prices. It includes three special offers for travelers to foreign countries. Let's look at them in more detail.

Option "BIT abroad"

The first option has the same name as the entire group. It provides unlimited Internet in most popular destinations - Bulgaria, India, Canada, Kazakhstan, Poland, UAE, Finland, Czech Republic, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkey , France, Montenegro, Switzerland, Abkhazia, Great Britain, Greece, Germany, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, USA and some other countries (let's call them the first group). The first 100 MB per day are available at maximum speed, then the limit is activated to 128 kbit/sec. The monthly fee is 450 rubles/day.

In countries such as Azerbaijan, Denmark, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Moldova, Gibraltar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Faroe Islands, as well as the Isles of Man and Guernsey (let's call them the second group), the daily limit is only 30 MB. The subscription fee is 550 rubles/day. In all other countries (third group), the Internet traffic limit is only 5 MB, with a monthly fee of 1,300 rubles/day.

The fourth group included countries such as the Maldives, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Guyana, Bolivia, Bhutan, Venezuela, Jamaica, Chad, Mauritania, Nepal, Macau, Madagascar, Lebanon, Guadeloupe, Iceland, Guam, Cote d'Ivoire, Philippines, Senegal, Tanzania, Cape Verde, Trinidad and Tobago. Here the limit is very tiny - 1 MB for 1,500 rubles/day. Similar conditions apply when roaming on airplanes and ships.

To connect “BIT abroad” from MTS, dial the USSD command *111*2222# or look into your personal account. The subscription fee is charged upon access to the Internet. If there was no access to the network during the current day, the money remains in place. The day is calculated according to Moscow time, and not according to the time of the subscriber’s location - remember this feature. To disable “BIT abroad” on MTS, type a similar command.

Option “Maxi BIT abroad”

Here the prices and conditions are:

  • The first group of countries – unlimited for 700 rubles/day. The first 200 MB are provided at maximum speed, then the limit is up to 128 kbps.
  • The second group of countries – 70 MB for 1000 rubles/day.
  • The third group of countries – 10 MB for 2400 rubles/day.
  • Fourth – 1 MB for 1500 rubles/day.

Connection and disconnection are performed using the USSD command *111*2223# or through your personal account. The “Maxi BIT Abroad” option from MTS is aimed at medium-active subscribers.

Option “Super BIT abroad”

The limits here are higher, but the subscription fee is also higher:

  • The first group - there is a real unlimited speed limit for 1600 rubles/day. Expensive, but you don’t need to think about limits;
  • The second group – 200 MB for 2000 rubles/day, one megabyte costs only 10 rubles;
  • Third group – 20 MB for 4,500 rubles/day. Expensive, but if there is no other choice, you will have to use it - do not forget to disable automatic software updates;
  • The fourth group is the same 1 MB for 1500 rubles/day.

To connect and disconnect, use your MTS personal account or USSD command *111*2224#.

Traffic extension

The “BIT Abroad” service from MTS (or rather, an option) offers relatively favorable conditions for Internet access in the territories of foreign countries. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, save traffic or use public access points. But remember that free Wi-Fi (as well as paid) is extremely rare in undeveloped countries.

If you need real foreign unlimited, use the “Super BIT Abroad” option. Here MTS provides unlimited traffic without any restrictions. Such conditions are beneficial for the most active subscribers and business people who have no time to monitor limits. True, if there is a serious load on guest networks, they have the right to slightly limit the speed - there is no escape from this. Therefore, you won’t be able to download torrents and movies. But for surfing, mail, working with documents and social networks, this is quite enough.

If necessary, the traffic limit can be increased in the following ways:

  • Reconnecting the option used.
  • Upgrading to an older version.
  • By enabling the “Turbo button abroad” option.

You can choose almost any available option.

Almost - because the last option has serious drawbacks. “Turbo button abroad” provides only 30 MB of traffic, and in a limited number of countries - this is all of Europe, except Iceland and Andorra, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, Tunisia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Israel, Canada, Thailand, UAE, Georgia, Egypt, China (except Macau), Turkey, Morocco, Abkhazia and the USA. In other countries, as well as in satellite networks, on ships and airplanes, it does not turn on.

The “Turbo button abroad” from MTS is activated using the USSD command *111*485#. Its cost is 450 rubles. It is compatible with all tariff plans and options.
