The technical equipment necessary to connect to the Smile wireless network is provided to subscribers on a purchase and sale basis.
But why additional equipment if you already have the previously purchased one?
You need to know that when a subscriber first connects, setting up the router is free, but provided that your Wi-Fi router is included in the list of recommended technical equipment of the Smile company, which contains more than 50 models of routers. If your equipment is not on the list, setting up the router is paid - from 620 rubles, the exact amount of money will be determined by a specialist after diagnostics.

Connecting television from Smile is implemented using two methods:
- via TV decoder (set-top box);
- through the Virgin Connect application.

Television connection is carried out through a TV decoder, which is purchased for a fee. If you have more than one TV, then you will have to install a set-top box on each subsequent one.
If it happens that your TV model is already equipped with Smart TV, then connecting a TV will become much easier and more accessible for you. To do this, you will need to install the Virgin Connect application. You will have access to viewing on 5 devices simultaneously, including: smartphones, tablets, desktop computers, laptops. Moreover, when you start watching on one device, you can always pause the broadcast and continue broadcasting on another device from the same moment where you paused. The minimum package is 83 channels. Available only within the operator's network.

To watch TV anywhere, wherever you are, you can install the Virgin Connect mobile application. Cost - from 150r/month. The minimum package is 77 channels. An application of this type can always be connected either separately or as part of a set of services. Available not only on mobile devices, but also on notebook PCs.

I’ve been eating this cactus called “Smile” for several months now and for some reason I’m not up to the promised smiles. I joined solely because there weren’t many other options. The Internet works disgustingly: there is no guarantee that the connection will not suddenly stop. Breakups often occur at the most crucial moment, during prime time. There can be several gaps per day, they can last 2 minutes or 15. Once there were no gaps for two days. They said that something was allegedly flooded there and that the manager in our house was to blame. According to the tariff, the speed is 70 megabits, but in reality it barely reaches 50 megabits maximum in torrents, pings suck - 100-200 ms - everything lags in games. I have already made requests for support on this issue several times. Their man came a couple of times, changed the router, lazily tried something on for show, said he didn’t know what was wrong and left. At first they tried to tell me that there was something wrong with my computer, but I tried both from the laptop and from the computer and the result was the same. The support says that they supposedly need to change some equipment, they say wait for the network to be modernized, and they don’t promise anything else. In general, as soon as the opportunity arises, I will immediately leave them; I don’t need such quality for nothing.

I connected their TV, in principle everything is fine, the choice of channels is large, and the TV itself does not fail. If something happens, you can connect an additional package; I took the educational and children's packages.

Great provider!

In general, I like the Smile Internet provider, since I have been using its services for almost a year and have no special complaints. Before this, there was another provider that did not work more often than it worked. So when I changed it, I breathed a sigh of relief.

There were no problems with Smile from the very beginning. The guys work quickly. They connected me to the Internet on the day I applied. I submitted a request for connection in the morning, and by the evening they connected it to me. We tested it right away, and only after that I signed an agreement for the provision of services.

A convenient personal account on the provider’s website, several ways to pay for the Internet, and there are bonuses for activity or loyalty. You can also improve or worsen your tariff plan in your personal account. Comfortable.

The Internet itself works stably. I have a tariff of up to 100 Mbit/s. It is clear that 100 Mbit/s is extremely rare. Most often late at night. Usually about 70 Mbit/s and that’s enough for me.

The support is working fine. Not so long ago the Internet did not work for a day, it turned out that there were problems with the cable. After the call, the technicians arrived and fixed everything. They didn’t take any money for it, they say repairs are included in the price of the tariff. I was pleased with this level of service.

Things are not always stable

Several months ago I connected to the Internet from the Smile provider. It works, but there are also many disadvantages. The Internet speed is quite good, but the connection is often interrupted, conversations with technical support may lead to nothing and you can only wait. Fortunately, for me these problems are not critical, and I can be without the Internet for some time, but it’s still unpleasant! I would not recommend this provider to my friends, but I would like the company itself to work on stability and on the work of your technical support, yes, there are normal guys there, but there are also those who do not understand anything at all.

They provide poor quality services!

I have been using the services of an Internet provider not so long ago, but this company has already managed to prove itself not very well. Firstly, it is impossible to reach technical support by phone; you have to wait a long time for a specialist to respond. And if you do get through, it turns out that they can’t or don’t want to solve your problem. The quality of the Internet also leaves much to be desired. The declared speed simply does not correspond, which is why it is not comfortable to use the Internet from several devices. In general, I’m thinking about changing my Internet provider, because I would like more care for the client.

Good internet

I chose this Internet provider for myself based on numerous recommendations from friends and acquaintances. One hundred percent satisfied with how the Internet works. The quality of the Internet connection is good, does not freeze, the connection is fast. Normal, reasonable price, happy. If necessary, I call technical support, they will always help solve any problem related to the Internet, they are polite and responsive! Satisfied.

A month ago we connected to the Internet from this provider. It took me a long time to choose from all the providers, but I came to the conclusion that Smile suits me better in the price category.

There were no problems with the connection. I left a request on their website, they called me the same day to confirm, and two days later the experts arrived. Connecting and testing did not take much time. The fact is that I already had the Internet from this provider in my housing complex, and this simplified the connection. The craftsmen brought a contract for the provision of services. The first month is free for a new user, so there was no need to pay anything right away.

According to my tariff, my Internet speed is 200 Mbit/s. Movies are downloaded in HD quality in approximately 3-5 minutes, that is, the speed is good. But this speed is not always the case. Morning and afternoon only. In the evening, of course, the speed drops, since the influx of users is large, as far as I understand. At night the speed is generally ideal.

During the month of use, the Internet never lagged, so in terms of the quality of service, I have no complaints. We'll see what happens next, but I hope there won't be any problems. So far, I am pleased with the choice in favor of this provider.

unprofessionalism

I have been using the Internet from the Smile company for at least 1.5 years in Shchelkovo. I am very dissatisfied with the work of this operator. Firstly, my TV set-top box, or rather the remote control for it, broke down. The technical service department told me that they don’t have TV set-top boxes yet, but when they do, they will bring them to me. OK. I call after a certain interval, they answer me that you know, but they have been dismantled. Or maybe it wasn’t, gentlemen?! They offered me to buy this stupid console myself, but you just have to pay for the setup. Second point. During vacation, I often turn off the Internet so that I don’t get charged AP. They did not have such a shutdown function. They advised me to turn off the router and write a letter. Where the text was compiled by them and upon arrival they will recalculate me. As a result, as it turned out, during my absence, my Internet was turned off for non-payment; when I called, it turned out that they would be able to recalculate, unless the services were provided through the fault of the company. Why deceive. The company is completely unprofessional in my opinion.

Smile is not ADSL)))

I recently switched to Smile. Before that, I used the services of an ADSL provider, where the speed was not so high. There weren't many TV channels, so I wanted to expand the review. I connected digital TV, now there are many channels and the television does not disappear. My Wi-Fi router was on the list recommended by the company, so the installation was done for free. But even if I had to pay, I would not refuse such an offer. The TV works well, I didn’t notice any network failures either. There were no problems with interruptions, but I contacted support several times. The issue was resolved over time.

Completely satisfied.

I would say that this is simply an excellent provider. I have been using the services of the smiley provider for several years. And I can say that they always strive to improve themselves, both in quality and in service. Their Internet is excellent and maintains its speed quite well, one hundred megabits are constant and work quickly without any restrictions. Payment is also not high monthly, replenishment is possible without leaving home and in several ways, not only with a bank card but also with electronic wallets, which is convenient for me. The television is simply of excellent quality, although there aren’t many channels like for me, it’s not slag, and all the interesting ones are worth watching. Adequate support.

Smile is a company that provides Internet access services, broadcasts of digital TV channels, telephony to residents of multi-storey and private buildings in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as organizing virtual PBX and video surveillance, developing public Wi-Fi networks in the offices of corporate clients. The geography of the provider's work covers the cities of Balashikha, Zheleznodorozhny, Lyubertsy, Korolev, Dzerzhinsky, Kotelniki, etc.

Since 2016, Smile has been part of the international Virgin Connect group of companies. On the official website of the company (www.smile-net.ru) there is a personal section for subscribers - a personal account. The service was created for remote monitoring of the status of a personal account and management of connected options.

Registration in your personal account

Access to your personal account is provided to all clients who have entered into an agreement with the Smile provider for the provision of services for Internet access, connection to digital TV or telephone networks. The login and password for logging into the system are issued along with other documents. Online registration on the site is not required.

Like many other Internet providers, Smile uses several communication technologies to connect its subscribers. In most homes, a connection via Ethernet (regular cable Internet) is available. Where this is not possible, the connection is established via a telephone line using ADSL. In this case, the maximum data transfer rate is limited by the capabilities of the standard and subscriber line used.

Connecting to the Smile provider via a router

To ensure that the Wi-Fi signal level is approximately the same in different rooms, place the router in the central part of the apartment. Find the port for connecting the cable installed by Smile. Typically abbreviated "WAN" (Wide Area Network) and located on the back of the device. Insert the cable into this connector, and connect computers, laptops, Smart TV and other devices that can connect to the Internet via cable to the remaining “LAN” (Local Area Network) ports. Connect the power supply plug to the “Power” port, then plug the unit into a power outlet.

Note! If you are using a telephone cable for connection, use the “ADSL” port instead of the “WAN” input.

Setting up a PPPoE connection on the router

Open the Wi-Fi router's web interface through any computer that is connected to it. To do this, find the router's IP address in the service information on the bottom panel of the device. Enter it in the address bar of any browser and press the Enter key to enter the control panel. A window will appear on the page with fields for entering your username and password. This information can also be found on a sticker or in the instructions from the Wi-Fi router. Fill out the text fields and click Login.

Important! Standard account information will not work if the authorization parameters have been changed. If you do not have access to the new password, restore the router to factory settings. For this purpose, the device has a separate “Reset” button.

Go to the network settings menu at “Network -> WAN”. In the drop-down list, select the connection type used by Smile - PPPoE. Leave the main settings and Ethernet parameters unchanged. In the "PPP" section, specify the following parameters:

  • Username;
  • Password;
  • Password confirmation.

This data is provided by the provider. They can be clarified in Smile technical support or in the contract for the provision of Internet access services.

Setting a password for your home Wi-Fi

Open the “Settings -> Wi-Fi” section. On the start tab, set the wireless network name (SSID). If you want to make the network hidden, check the box next to the appropriate item. In this case, each time you connect, you will need to enter not only the Wi-Fi access key, but also the name of the network. The password itself can be specified on the “Security Settings” tab, in the “PSK encryption key” line.

For the network authentication method, select “WPA2-PSK” or “WPA/WPA2-PSK” if not all devices on your local network support the modern WPA2 standard. Save the settings using the “Apply” button. After this, reboot the router through the control panel or by pressing the button on the device body. Connect to Wi-Fi to test the wireless network.
