Monitoring messages and calls in Android

  • Mobile application development,
  • Android development

Monitoring incoming messages

Probably the implementation of this part is the simplest and easiest. In the application manifest we give permission to process message receipt

As you can see from the code example, when a message is received, control will be transferred to the Receiver MessageReceiver.

Example implementation:

Public class MessageReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver ( public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) ( Bundle bundle = intent.getExtras(); if (bundle != null) ( Object pdus = (Object) bundle.get("pdus"); SmsMessage msgs = new SmsMessage;ArrayList numbers = new ArrayList (); ArrayList messages = new ArrayList (); for (int i=0; i 0)( //do something with messages ) ) ) )

Monitoring outgoing messages

Unfortunately, outgoing messages are not as easy as incoming ones. The Telephony API does not provide a separate outgoing message event. To me this looks quite strange in the rather polished product that is Android. Nevertheless, there is still a solution.

In the application manifest we give permission to read messages

Next, you should create and register a message base change handler. In principle, here you can combine the processing of incoming and outgoing messages, but somehow with incoming messages everything is much simpler. When processing outgoing messages, you should take into account the fact that the handler can be called several times when sending the same message. It is recommended to create a table of hashes of all messages and check whether the message being processed is in the database. The code below shows a primitive check by message ID

Private static final String CONTENT_SMS = "content://sms/"; private static long id = 0; //register the message content change handler ContentResolver contentResolver = getBaseContext().getContentResolver(); contentResolver.registerContentObserver(Uri.parse(CONTENT_SMS),true, new OutgoingSmsObserver(new Handler())); private class OutgoingSmsObserver extends ContentObserver ( @Override public void onChange(boolean selfChange) ( super.onChange(selfChange); Uri uriSMSURI = Uri.parse(CONTENT_SMS); Cursor cur = getContentResolver().query(uriSMSURI, null, null,null, null); cur.moveToNext(); String protocol = cur.getString(cur.getColumnIndex("protocol")); if(protocol == null)( long messageId = cur.getLong(cur.getColumnIndex("_id")) ; //check if we have just processed this message if (messageId != id)( id = messageId; int threadId = cur.getInt(cur.getColumnIndex("thread_id")); Cursor c = getContentResolver().query (Uri.parse("content://sms/outbox/" + threadId), null, null, null, null); c.moveToNext(); //get the recipient's address String address = cur.getString(cur.getColumnIndex( "address")); //get the text of the message String body= cur.getString(cur.getColumnIndex("body")); //do something with the message ) ) ) )

Call monitoring

Android provides the ability to monitor the phone's state through the android.intent.action.PHONE_STATE action, but I again had a problem getting the subscriber's number on an outgoing call, so I had to register the receiver for two actions.

In the application manifest we give permission to read the phone state and process outgoing calls.

And register a Receiver that will be triggered by an incoming message event

Example implementation:

String phoneNumber = ""; public class CallReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver ( public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) ( if (intent.getAction().equals("android.intent.action.NEW_OUTGOING_CALL")) ( //get the outgoing number phoneNumber = intent.getExtras( ).getString("android.intent.extra.PHONE_NUMBER"); ) else if (intent.getAction().equals("android.intent.action.PHONE_STATE"))( String phone_state = intent.getStringExtra(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE) ; if (phone_state.equals(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE_RINGING)) ( //the phone is ringing, we get the incoming number phoneNumber = intent.getStringExtra(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_INCOMING_NUMBER); ) else if (phone_state.equals(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE_OFFHOOK))( //the phone is located in call mode (dialing/talking) ) else if (phone_state.equals(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE_IDLE))( //the phone is in standby mode. This event occurs at the end of the conversation, when we already know the number and the fact of the call ) ) )

Summarizing the problems that I described at the very beginning, I will again say that I could not shake the feeling that the Android API was somewhat unfinished. An incoming message is very easily intercepted, which cannot be said about an outgoing one. The same goes for calls. Of course, you can use one solution for messages, but if it’s so simple for incoming messages, then why isn’t it so simple for outgoing ones?

Find the owner of the number mobile phone quite difficult, since the numbers are not available in public databases. But there are quite a lot of options for tracking a number, especially if you receive threatening calls, in this case you can contact the police, but there is no single the right way find out the owner of the phone number.

Steps

Free phone number search

    Call the number. Explain to the person who answered that you received calls from his number. Politely ask who you are talking to. If they answered you, then there is no point in continuing further! If not, use the methods listed below.

    • Ask a friend to call this number or call yourself from a friend's phone. If you have called several times and have not been answered, it is likely that the person you are trying to reach has decided not to return your calls. In this case, you can trick him by calling from another number or from a pay phone.
  1. Find public databases. If they call you not from a mobile phone, but from home phone, then you can check this number in the directory. Use white pages if you are in the US, or use other search engines depending on your location.

    Use a search engine. The owner or organization that owns the phone number can display its contact number on personal websites or company websites.

    Search the deep web . So-called "invisible" search engines use additional filters and options for more detailed searches.

    • Deep web search engines usually specialize in something specific, so you need to find one that suits your needs. Use a regular search engine to find a list of search engines that use the deep web as their search engine.

    Paid number search

    1. Determine the quality of service. On many search engines that charge for services, you may be provided with unnecessary information, and they may even deceive you by withdrawing funds from your card into your account.

      Pay for the service only after using the free features. Paid filters typically provide the same search results as free filters, so paying for them is unlikely to provide you with any new results, but your personal information could end up in the hands of scammers who can withdraw money from your card into their account.

      Hire a private detective . Even if you have tried all of the above methods, you may still not find the information you need. Hiring a private detective will cost a pretty penny, and you need to pay close attention to finding one. Before hiring anyone, make sure you are familiar with the investigator's terms of employment and fee information. There are times when a detective does not find the necessary information, but still requests payment for his work.

    Finding an unknown or blocked phone number

      Check your call log or automatic caller ID. All mobile phones automatically detect the number from which the call is made. If you use landline phone, contact your service provider for automatic detection numbers.

      • Contact your manufacturer's support telephone device, if you don't know how to check incoming call log on mobile phone.
      • There are ways by which you can bypass automatic caller ID, and even make it so that a completely different number will be displayed for you. If Caller ID has not determined the phone number, use the following methods.
    1. Use a service that allows you to call the number of the last incoming call. Call your operator and order the “call to last incoming number” service. You may be required to pay for the service initial fee and/or a fee each time you use it.

      • The call return code varies by country and operator (and may not be available in all regions). Consult your operator about the code or find it yourself on the Internet as a “call return code”, indicating your country.
      • In the US, this code looks like *69 (after the country code).
      • After the call you want to track ends, enter the call return code and you will hear a voice that will tell you the phone number from which the last call was made.
      • In some regions this service available automatically. The service fee will still apply.
      • Please note: in some states (California, for example), the service only allows you to call the last incoming number, but does not provide the phone number itself.
    2. Take advantage of number tracking features. If you are receiving incessant threatening calls, contact your operator to find out if the following features are available to you:

    How to Avoid Scams

      Please check the services provided to you carefully. Search services most often deceive their customers by providing unnecessary information or stealing funds from their plastic cards.

      Look for reviews or complaints about the company on the Internet. best business directory bureau – good resource to check search services (USA, Canada and Mexico only).

      Never provide financial information to unfamiliar sites. Do not enter your card number if your browser warns you that the site may be unsafe, if the site asks you to pay for services through an intermediary site you have never heard of, or if the site looks completely unprofessional.

      • On such sites there is a so-called “free trial search”, for which, as the site creators assure, you do not need to pay.
      • Find a service that charges through PayPal or another well-known intermediary site.
    1. Never enter additional personal information about yourself. Your social security number is not required information to use search engines.

    Mobile device location tracking

      Track the location of your family members. Any smartphone with GPS can be tracked. Here are a few ways you can track your family's location at any time:

    1. Install apps to track the location of your own phone. If you're worried about losing your phone or having it stolen, there are programs that can track your phone's GPS location using a computer and/or prevent the thief from gaining access to the device.

      • Find a program suitable for your device in an online store or download it on the Internet.
      • AccuTracking is one of the few applications that allows you to track the location (via GPS) of regular phones.

Today, mobile devices have become part of everyday communication between people. We have access to many services: from banal SMS to mobile applications like Messenger, WhatsApp, etc. And as long as such services exist, there are heated debates about the secrecy of correspondence. Some people believe that they also have the right to read other people's messages. Women are especially distrustful; many want to track their husband’s SMS correspondence - this will give them confidence that he has not been charmed by some rival.

Women for the most part do not know how to use tricky applications. This task is facilitated by special software, which needs to be installed on your spouse’s smartphone. The spy application is invisible to the subscriber. Simply use this service and with its help your wife will have access to:

  • phone location tracking;
  • list of incoming and outgoing calls;
  • mobile correspondence.

Privacy and security are fully ensured. Only you will have access to his contact list and profile activity. Tracking is carried out via an Internet connection. This can be done from your mobile device, any gadget on the network or a desktop computer.

What motivates a woman?

Ordinary life often pushes one of the spouses to search for entertainment. While the wife is busy raising children and creating home comfort, husbands maintain the ingrained image of the breadwinner. After a long day of work, you want to take a break from everyday worries in the company of friends over a glass of something strong. Women become suspicious and distrustful. Especially if the “treacherous spouse” frequents the bar and is constantly late, evades direct answers, and does not answer calls for a long time.

In this case, spying on your husband via phone is completely justified. And the excuses “it was noisy, I didn’t hear the call” or “there’s no connection there” look unsuccessful. By detailing your smartphone's activity, you can know exactly:

  • where is the spouse;
  • who, and most importantly, what writes to him in SMS messages;
  • who calls him;
  • who is he calling?

Maintaining 12 hour free testing mobile phone profile without interfering with the functionality of the device; the service even allows you to record subscriber conversations. In checking for fidelity, such a record can be strong evidence.

How to install?

Popular spy programs support all Android devices. They can be ordered via mobile services or download via the Internet. Installation is done manually, this will require physical contact with your husband’s mobile phone. To determine the subscriber's location, you need to configure GPS navigation. You can then track your husband’s calls and SMS through a special account on the website.

Catch your spouse cheating with help mobile spy- not important. It is more important to understand what to do with this knowledge later. In any case, the use of such a program can be completely justified, and most importantly, it will remain a secret for the spouse.
